Asha

For her namesake, she guides some in the way they should go...

Image Original Art by Arluar

Her opalescent skin shines in the moonlight, clean and untouched since her purification. Having served as the priestess to her clan, she now travels alone giving counsel to those she thinks need it. Her hair is a light lilac and silky soft to the touch. She has two full sized, bat-like wings protruding from her back with two-fingered hands on the top joints. Often times she has her wings caped with the small wing-hands on her shoulders. Her knees have bone-spiked caps instead of knee caps, the plates extending up to a point known as a crown. Her elbows have similar bone growths referred to as cups that extend from the ulna. Asha also has a tail that's about the length of her leg. The tip is covered in a furry mess of hair and feathers the same hue as her hair.

Asha is prone to visions. They are often times very general save for a few key details that stand out. She can usually remember whether it was a good or bad omen, but she is far from predicting the future. When she is having a vision, her eyes glow white, returning to their iridescent purple afterward.

Like all gargoyles, Asha turns to stone during the day. Her skin, hair - every inch of her is covered in a granite coating while she slumbers in the sunlight. When she awakens at sun down, she bursts from the stone, leaving a mess of rubble behind.

So begins...

Asha was like a pearl, buried under the muck and grim of the forest floor. Hearing the hark of an approaching angel, Asha's eyes flash open once more. "Michael," she said softly, suddenly hoarse. As she lifted her injured wing to the air, she hoped its shine would catch his eye.

Asha had to move. She had to show herself to him. Where the wing had gone up, her lurching form could be seen between the trees. She pushed herself up on her arms, head hanging down with lilac hair, soiled by the ground, flipping over in front of her face. Slowly, she lifted wings up into the air above her. Her lungs filled with air before she let out another roar. The mud beneath her hands made her slip so she folded back down to the ground. Her skin was so quickly becoming tarnished, that it was hard to recognize her from far off.

Asha came into the bar with her wings folded tightly behind her. When she made it through the doorway, she relaxed the large appendages and moved towards the bar to a stool. On her way, however, the lovely scent of cinnamon greets her nostrils and the rounded flesh flares wide, sucking in the fragrance. Her eyes searched the bar as she pulled up onto a stool, moving frantically before landing on the crimson man seated towards the other end of the bar. It was Lawless and while Asha had the urge to jump off the seat and go embrace him, she did her best to stay where she was. After all, he was not alone. This gargress knew better than to disturb him while he was conducting pleasure. Still, she couldn't stop herself from straining to eaves drop.

Asha brought her wing-hands to the bangs on her forehead and split them down the middle, pulling the strands away from the middle of her pearl face. Careful not to stick her wings out too far behind her, she pulls the two-clawed hands down towards her ears. There, she tips them around her ears before continuing the stroke down towards her wing joints. This successfully cleared her ears from the softening lilac locks. Now she was free to listen with ease, ordering a glass of water to sip on.

Asha thanked the bartender for the glass of water before bringing it to her lips and letting the cool liquid splash into her mouth. With her mouth now moistened, she runs her tongue over her fangs. She lifted her hand after abandoning the drink on the bar and rested her chin in her palm. Sharp talons folded in to rest against her unblemished cheek, tapping lightly. She listened to what Lawless was saying and frowned a bit. She didn't really know all that about him. In fact, she didn't know much at all. Their relationship had always been rather feral and heated than anything else. That thought brought a smile back to her lips.

Asha continued to sit at the bar and listen when the lights went out and stage lights came up. Naturally she turned her head to look towards the performance but after minute or so, she was just upset that she couldn't hear Lawless so well any more. As she turned back to face the bar, one of the stage lights swiveled and panned across the bar. When the spot hit her skin, Asha literally lit up like a disco ball. Seeing the glow all around her, she hid her face in her hand and pulled her wings in tight to her back. She hated spotlights.

Asha scolded herself. What was she doing? The only thing she had done right was to not stare at them. Still, she knew if she were Alexa, she wouldn't want some crazy seer eaves dropping on their casual flirting. Asha breathed out through her nose and pushed away from the bar, turning to set a foot on the ground. Her tail that had been entwined on the stool's leg untwisted and followed the movements of her form. Pushing her hair back one last time, she turns and capes her wings, moving to exit the bar. She shouldn't be trusted to behave.

Asha came in and looked at the scene in the bar as if she knew exactly what to expect on the other side of that door. The gargress was well rested from a previous day of stone sleep and so when her eyes laid on the man with the gun, she felt a surge of energy, hatred, go through her. Ducking down, she moves on all fours towards where she saw Lawless go down.

As she came up over his limp form, she frowned and ran a talon lightly against his cheek just to see if he was conscious at all. Seeing the blood seeping out, she fears the worst and hops around his form to start fooling with his belt where she once saw him retrieve a stone skin potion. She had no idea about any other potions he had, but they all had to be good right? After what seemed like ages, she finally released a potion and held it up to see if it was labeled somehow. Her wings came up and blocked Lawless from The Leader's view for the moment. She was concentrating on Lawless and barely noticed the fire as it started.

Asha whimpered a bit as she held a black, green, and red potion vials in her hands. She had no clue which was witch, but she decided to start off with the red one. Opening it up, she takes a good sniff of it before tilting some of it back into her own mouth first. She would wait to see what affect, if any it would have on her. While waiting, her tail wraps around the Tiefling's tightly. "Lawless..."

Asha hissed loudly as the bomb went off, exploding right in front of her. She fell back on her ass before scrambling to come to Lawless' side again. "Why do you even have one like that?" she asked the partially conscious Tiefling. She did not give up on her efforts, however, looking to an amber colored vial she hadn't picked up yet. Taking the potion in her hand, this time she turns away from Lawless before opening it and moving to test some of it. Her ears were folded down as she cautiously proceeded.

Asha was about to react to the flames singing her tassels before the potion came all over her hand and turned into an epoxy. As Lawless spoke, however, she forgot about everything else. "Lawless..." He was only in front of her for a moment, however, turning her head to watch him move over to Amy. Finally feeling the flames on her skin, she reaches around to pat out the flames, using her wings as well. When she was done, she looked at her hand one lest time before using three limbs to go to Lawless' side. As Mammon flicked the vial away, the gargress hissed loudly while suddenly springing after him to tackle him away from Lawless and Amy.

Asha knew what she was dealing with now. After passing through him, she lands on all fours before standing up and refocusing her efforts. Her hand, still covered in the resin, is brought up against the other as she shuts her eyes and speaks strongly. "I call out to The One, hear your servant pray...Remove this demon from your creation. Such impurity and sin should not be allowed to persist. The One...come and banish him to the hell you have made to hold him." she said, praying for the demon to be banished.

Asha opened her eyes slowly. They were glowing a bright white as she continued to speak. "May The One send Holy Fire from his heaven to come into me so that I may do his will against this creature of sin." Just as she prayed these words, white flames began to burn around her eyes. The untouchable flames danced down Asha's hair and shoulders, quickly working to consume her whole form. The holy fire went out from her in a blast towards Mammon as she held her hand out. "The One has damned you! Be gone from this place!" she cried out, sending more holy flames after him.

Asha had successfully repelled the demon...or made him mad. Whichever it was, she closed her eyes and simply said, "Amen." The fire around her slowly faded away as she walked over to Lawless, Amy, and Tove. "Are they alright?" she asked with a glance over the healing one and the little girl. "And uh...What's with this?" Asha asks, holding up her left hand that was caked in resin still. It was holding her talons together and she did rather hate it. As Amy spoke, Asha smiled brightly before speaking again. "I saw you in a vision, Lawless...I hope you don't mind the assistance."

Asha was settled at one of the tables, a glass and a small red ball on the table before her. The ball rolled about and as it did, she traced her talon along the sides and top of it, urging it to continue its motion. She was in her silver dress tonight, hair in longer curls down near the bottom of her shoulder blades, splitting over the wing joints. Asha sighed and grabbed the ball off the table so she could concentrate on taking a drink of the ale instead. Her tail was curled around the chair leg as she went back to playing with the ball, not seeing the archangel.

Asha looked up from the ball she was playing with to see a dear friend at the bar. Pearl hair was happy to drift back as she stood and padded across the floor to the bar, barefoot and silent. Sneaking up on the worn form, she reaches out with her wing hand and rests it ever so gingerly on his shoulder. Stepping to the other side of him, she smiles and leans over the bar. "Hello dearest...Long time no see." The latter was a joke, since she was a seer.

Asha couldn't help but grin a bit. "If I had fear of not making it to sunrise, then I'd be trembling." she said cooly, glad to see the blades go back all the same. "Archangel, you have had troubles?" she asks, looking over his bruised and battered form. She frowned a bit and slid up onto a stool beside him, her dress parting high on her thigh and ne caps erect into the air. The ball she had in her hand was then placed on the bar as she rolled it about and rested her head on her other hand. Sighing, she continues to speak as she plays her game. "I was worried about you. Without you around to prompt me, I had no visions of you. The worst was always in the back of my head. I am glad you are still on your own two feet."

Asha had taken to the skies earlier that evening. The usual drink and lounge simply could not hold her attention tonight. So after climbing high in the dark woods, she took to the air. The night sky was cold and especially dark tonight, making the pearl gargoyle stand out even more. As she circled above, her iridescent body glimmered like one of the largest stars in the sky. Lilac hair flew back over her shoulders as she cast her gaze to the terrain beneath her.

Asha heard the shot ring out and fixed her stare on the downed deer...It was all so inviting, she couldn't resist. Without restraint, she tucked her wings and dove out of the sky after Grenville's kill. Like a majestic eagle, she spread her finger and foot talons. In a massive swoop, she sunk all 16 talons into the deer and gave a mighty flap of her wings, lifting the carcass clear off the bank.

Asha preferred that her meal not have metal shards in it, but at least it was an easy and fresh meal. Not able to get enough lift to be in the air again, she dropped the deer to the ground and gracefully landed a few feet past it. Turning on her heel, she came back to where the carcass was and went to her knees beside it. Confident that she would be left alone with her fast food, Asha slashed into the flesh with her taloned fingers and started pulling out chunks of muscle to eat. Given enough time, she would finish the whole thing right there.

Asha had the carcass picked clean in record time. She hadn't eaten in nearly a month anyway. By this point, she had blood all over her mouth and dripping down her chin onto her halter top. Seeing the hunter in the group near the bank, she walked slowly and deliberately over to Grenville. When she got there, she flashed a red-fanged-smile and waved crimson fingers at him. "Thanks for the kill. It was good...and don't worry. I didn't waste any of it." Realizing how dirty she was, she excused herself and went to dip in the river's water.

Asha latched onto the side of the building, making it the perch at the end of her glide. With a toss of her mane of light lilac locks, she takes in a deep breath of the city air. The freedom she had sent shivers through her core, leaving her full of life and eager to experience the urges her beastly mindset were accustomed to. Looking down over the people below, she smiles brightly before taking in another deep breath. Unlike so many mindless breaths before, this cropping of are was then pushed through her voice box, summoning a well rounded roar to sound out of her. Grinning, she leaps to the next wall and begins to climb to the next plateau.

Asha bounded up over the edge and onto the terrace that was the next level place to stop. A bit taken back by the site of a man in a trench coat, not to mention the offensive odor, she snorted before just crouching on the half-wall that was on the perimeter. Her opal eyes scanned around as she tried to detect if there was a threat or not. Her tail flicked back and forth, the tail fur shifting in the wind. Finally, Asha spoke.

"Hello there, mister." she giggled, smiling brightly with those gargoyle fangs. "What are you doing up here? Do you live here?" Speak of the devil, the sliding door to the apartment there was slung open and a rather ugly woman came out, wielding a broom.

"Get outta here, damn pidgeons!" the woman demanded, going after The Watcher and Asha with raging straw.

Asha stared as the woman with the broom suddenly dropped the weapon and turned to go back inside. Gawking, the gargoyle hopped to the deck to move on all fours over to Lamp. Carefully, she reaches out to tug at the coat. When viewed, Asha would have a look of amazement, opalescent eyes wide in wonder.

"...Are you a Jedi?" she marveled, drawing back and releasing the garment. Still crouching down, she puts her hands on the concrete beneath them while continuing to stare upwards. "You talk funny to be a Jedi--" Suddenly, a loud noise in the apartment made Asha jump back before turning away completely and leaping off the ledge. Once cleared of the buildings, she spreads her wings and catches the air, coming about on some warm breeze to view Lamp.

Asha hovered in the air, occasionally swooping about to keep where she was. Looking back to Lamp on the terrace, she can't help but laugh again. "I was hatched this way, silly. A long time ago." Then Asha took to wind dancing in the sky, picking up speed on an updraft while twirling about.

She was definitely playful today, using the wind to move about freely in the space between buildings. Of course, this was all better than the alternatives of being in rage or in heat. Still, even today she wasn't quite right. There was some quality that seemed to be absent in her mind. All the same, she smiled and hovered near Lamp.
