Ashton Starlight's Story

Ashton Starlight was a sorceress of light, there are much evil and darkness throughout the land. Also, her necklace was the source of her power and some of her abilities. The people of light were good, and of course, there's those who are evil, the ones excluded into the dark lands. Every once in a while, the people of the dark will attack or create tension or battle. This disrupts the peace.

This was one of those times. Word was sent from the leader of one of the dark kingdom leaders. They were going to come after the soon-to-be Queen Ashton Starlight. Her best friend Laina Loraine told her the news. Ashton instantly began to breathe hard. The reason, she knew, was to keep her from being the queen and second, to get her source of power--her necklace.

Ashton Starlight has stunning long blonde hair that flows down to her hips and is straight. She puts it up when she does into battle. She is very sweet, charming, and gorgeous.

She came here originally in search of a place to live and to show off her skills because of the fact that she was very intelligent and very co-ordinated in the way of knowing when someone is behind her, and hand and eye coordination. She was part of the high council--mostly because she was good at making decisions and was good at leading people. She was also good in battle. Her star protected her mostly from harm, but heavy damage, like stars, when they fade, can go out, she can die if she is seriously hurt. But, the star can heal her and give her the knowledge to heal others. She also overtime, studied how to make medicine and use natural stuff to help heal people because of her kind heart. Also-her mother had come there and brought her with her as a 16-year-old, and even before that, they knew of the magical potential she had. They went there, because the king had saved her mother, and the king had asked them to live in his castle, he was an elf too, and so was his son and his family. His son was 16-years-old as well.

The valley was peaceful this morning, a mere calm before the storm. The Ceratopsian herds were gathering by the lake for a drink, unaware of any dangers nearby. Near the forest the sauropods towered over everything, eating the leaves off the trees where nothing else could reach.

Unbeknownst to the herd, danger awaited in the bush. Eyes, unfeeling, unreasoning eyes watched them. These eyes belonged to a theropod predator, poised to strike at any moment.

Michael Lewis approaches the beast, then realizes this is not a place to be without a weapon, and removes his backpack, opens it, and takes out several pieces of tubing, made out of metal. Each has a sort of screw-shaft on the end, and he screws them onto each other, then removes the blade, three feet long, and tops off the long-bladed pike. He notices the other people here, but says nothing. He approaches them, still, and stands in reverence, respecting the being of obvious power.

Once the ceremonies died down the peaceful herbivores departed, for they knew what came next. The many carnivorous beasts who had gathered moved in, teeth primed and ready. It was a horrifying display of voracious hunger, everything that could get their jaws in ripped pieces of meat from the massive corpse.

This was not an act of malevolence nor was it a desecration of any grave. These were animals doing what their instincts told them to do, and in this very moment all they wanted to do was feast.

Kassandra knew that it was time to move on, she watched as nature fulfilled its natural cycle. Creatures of all kinds within the predator category of those here, all looking to their fix, to be satiated. It was a horrific display of the beautiful everlasting truth within nature. Survival of the fittest.

Kassy finally got up, wiped her tears and started to head away. Dath was certainly moving on, and she needed to as well. She knew not whether he would remember her, or care for her. But they were connected with a soul bond. So she would always know whether he was in danger or not. She could feel his presence, like a vibration on the back of her spine. Like clothes on her back bringing comfort, she knew things were ok.

She turned to hear a voice asking about the happenings. He must not have witnessed the passing of the crown. With great effort, she pulled herself together, shuffling to straighten her flowing clothing that was now very dusty from the last couple of weeks on this mysterious land. She tried hard to force a smile, but only manged a weak smirk of sort. She wanted to laugh at the uselessness of attempting to be 'presentable'. What did that mean in a situation like this? She was leaving anyway.

"This...was the passing of one apex of the land, and the crowing of the new one. Like a new king being crowned, all the creatures in the domain came to witness. Now? I have to leave...you should too. It'll get dangerous soon." She said measured.

Kassandra felt bad, she wasn't trying to tell the guy that he was intruding. Rather, he was witnessing history. However, there isn't much to do about the confusion. Considering her current mentality and complete emotional drain. She was exhausted, and needed to go somewhere to recharge. Preferably without humans. But maybe that was too ambitious? No...it would just be a rude. She could simply leap away, but she was looking to simply sleep somewhere. Kassandra remembers there was a moment where a bunch of people were heading to some established town out somewhere. She figured that would be a good place where a space port would be, and a good place where the sleep could be too.

"I apologize, but unless you are planning to rest for the day, I cannot join you. Also. I am heading somewhere in which the destination is not known. I doubt you wish to head on this venture of mines...I am...lost." She said.

For the first time she was admitting her true feelings instead of denying them.

"There is a place, it's not far. I will be resting there. It would probably be where the spaceport you are looking for is at."

She knew that this would take a while to get there, unless they already had a vehicle. Kassandra could simply jump there. Or run. Either would be...a cinch.

Kassandra thought on that for a minute. But she knew that there was no denying it...companionship was better than nothing. However, her instinct told her it was a bad idea. Even in the vulnerable pace she was in. She stayed pensive throughout and she was on edge. Not wanting to be there, she tried pushing through forcibly.

"You can...join me. But you must prove your loyalty for my trust. Follow me for now. Try to keep up."

She darted off into a light jog, but to everyone else, it would look like she was moving at the speeds of a cheetah. From zero to 30 mph just like that. She hopped the man had a way to move.

In the sky above came a sound nobody would ever wish to hear, the sound of giant wingbeats. From up on high was a massive draconian creature, its wings large enough to block the sun as it passed. The air blustered heavily from his flapping, disrupting all who were near.

This was no ordinary wyvern however. This was a titan, of whom ruled the skies of Xamoyos. The other creatures immediately noticed and fled out of fear, for they knew this was not the peaceful titan Dath is. It landed by the corpse of massive tyrannosaur and lowered its head toward it. Its snout chuffed and smoked as it smelled the body of the former titan, still recognizing its scent. Without hesitation though it dug in, tearing at the meat with a voracity not seen even among the largest of predators here.

Grimwold finished his preparations and headed towards the mines. It was to be another typical day, working the alternative route down into the heart of the mountain to avoid using the tunnels which were haunted by the mysterious danger lurking within the main vein.

Throwing his pickaxe over his shoulder, he set off for the day.

In his pursuit of Kassandra, Michael lewis would encounter a truly dangerous creature. It was a bipedal dinosaur that easily was a head taller than him, and it has been dubbed Vennoxamos. This was a peculiar dinosaur, it had two circular crests on its head and what appeared to be a frog-like throat pouch. It eyed him curiously before noticing the spear, recognizing him as a threat. It hopped in his path, and presented a terrifying threat display, shrieking and rattling a frill that was attached to its neck.

Michael stops as fast as he can, skidding across the grass a couple feet before coming to a full stop. He eyes the creature and slowly starts to back away, unsure of what threat that it presents to him. He holds his pike at his side, but with both hands, ready if the beast attacks. He keeps backing away, slowly, and doesn't take his eyes off of the Vennoxamos.

Michael lurches back as the liquid flies through the air, landing on his back. The poison splashes onto the grass about a foot before him, and he scrambles onto his feet. He dropped his pike, so he grabs it up and starts to jog backwards for about ten yards and then starts running in the opposite direction, stopping about forty yards from the Vennoxamos and then turning to face it.

Michael readies his pike, and stabs it into the roof of the Vennoxamos' mouth as it tries to attack him, and then quickly pulls back the spear. He continues his retreat, doing his best to avoid any more conflict with the beast. He quickly removes the head of his spear and screws on a shorter, yet wider, one, all while jogging backwards away from the creature.

Fortunately for Michael, this is enough to kill it. Its corpse falls heavily onto the grass, blood leaking out of its mouth and head. He was not out of the woods yet however. In the direction he was running he would encounter a four legged animal, a herbivore. It was a strange creature with a long neck like a sauropod, however it had hooves on its legs. This was Xamatoequus. It was busy browsing from a tree and not paying any mind to michael.

Michael almost runs into the Xamotoquus, and spends some time looking at it warily, unsure if it was hostile. He doesn't think it is. He then spends some time admiring the strange foliage and life all around him. He kind of wants to walk back to the corpse of the Vennoxamos, just to look at it, but decides not to. He doesn't yet trust the planet all around him.

The prosauropod continued eating the soft leaves of the nearby tree blissfully unaware of Michael. He would however encounter a strange new animal that looked out of place among the saurian residents. It was a small winged creature, one that looked like a rabbit. It flapped its wings and landed on the grass below. It had a pouch on its belly, indicating this was infact a marsupial.

Michael looks cautiously at the rabbit-like thing, holding his pike at his side in one hand. He's not really sure what to trust here, and so he decides to walk back after Kassandra. But she's gone, and he's not exactly a tracker. So he's stuck here. Damn.
He looks at the rabbit-thing for a bit, then decides to give it some distance. Those teeth look pretty sharp. He stands, just observing everything around him, and starts thinking.

The corpse of the Vennoxamos was next to him, already it started to smell like rot. This would attract scavengers, one of which was a small theropod. Its crane-like neck reached in and sniffed the corpse, and nipped at it. This was Coeloxamos, a mostly harmless scavenger that strangely smelled like honey.

Michael looks over at the scavenger, wary but not believing it presents any harm to him. So he sits down in the grass, a good distance away from each of the animals, and takes a small whetstone to the blade of his pike, and stores the rest of the blades in their respective sheathes, of which there were six, each a different size and shape.

He starts running the whetstone along the blade of his spear, making an ear grating scraping sound, about a second in interval between each pass of it along the blade. He seems absolutely focused on this task, but in reality he's focusing on his surroundings more. Not as much as he was earlier, but enough to know what was going on around him.
The slightly interesting note of this was that he made no vocal sound during his fight with the Vennoxamos, or any sound afterwards. His steps make almost no noise on the grass, his motions make close to no sound either. There is just the scrape of the whetstone on the blade.
