Classified Archive Profile
Austin James Marshall is a Special Agent in the Terran Intelligence Bureau. He is Agent 317, callsign 'Vulpis'. He is primarily a field and reconnaissance agent with a mission-bias towards infiltration, extraction, assassination and counter-terrorism. At twenty-five years old, he is one of the youngest agents in the field. With over five successful missions under his belt, he is also one of the most renown.
Image
Young Austin, receiving combat training under the TIB.

Agent Marshall was marked by a spotter at age eighteen when he was observed stealing an expensive necklace from a jeweler. When confronted by security, he succeeded in talking his way out of the situation until the stolen necklace fell out of his jacket. Marshall proceeded to incapacitate three security guards before fleeing the store. He was tracked and found living in an abandoned warehouse. After a struggle, he was detained by Agent 489 and was brought back to Veritas where he was recruited of his own consent. His training began almost immediately.

For the next seven years, Marshall mastered every level of field training, from basic to tactical. He studied the cultures and histories of both Terran countries and many intergalactic nations, becoming fluent in over a dozen languages. He completed every available course for weapon handling, from light firearms to heavy explosives. Under the TIB academia, he was schooled in chemistry, physics, biology, mechanical engineering, advanced calculus, paranormal studies, theater, kinesiology, botany, basic medicine and toxicology. Despite destroying many of the training cars, he was taught to drive a plethora of different vehicles, from motor automobiles to heavy transports and even to spacefaring vessels.

Marshall's past is hazy and unclear, mostly because the agent rarely speaks of it. He recognizes having a mother and brother in his youth. They lived in extreme poverty, and the mother eventually died of untreated syphilis. Austin and his brother, Edward, split ways and became stragglers. It was during this time that Austin developed exceptional thieving and stealth capabilities. He also learned how to fight hand-to-hand in the Israeli defense system of Krav Maga, learning from an old master in exchange for whatever liquor he'd managed to steal that day.

Austin suffers from a rare neurological disease: citofacin (cito - quick, facina - action), caused by a malfunction in the motor and sensory neurons in the brain. As the neurons release catecholamine neurotransmitters between synapses, the velocity at which the neurotransmitters move is accelerated beyond all normal human parameters. As a result, the lag-time between thought and action is shortened drastically. For persons suffering from citofacin, thought and action are one. Years of therapy have allowed Austin to train his "disease", focusing himself to prevent every passing thought from being completed as action, consciously choosing what he will or will not do. His condition also gives him a considerable edge on the field. Without any lag time between brain and trigger finger, Austin is an extremely capable fighter and gunman, his kinetic speed almost inhuman. Nonetheless, Austin still struggles to maintain complete control of his disease, failing frequently.

In terms of his character, Marshall is an optimist and an extrovert. He is a great lover of humor and sarcasm, never failing to find something that he might smile (or smirk) at. Although he has consistently shown great bravery and courage on the field, his valor often evolves into blatant recklessness, particularly when confronted with bleak or hopeless situations. He is a risk-taker and a daredevil; the more dire and desperate the objective, the more enjoyable it seems to become to him. A skilled orator and speaker, Austin craves society and the company of others. When left alone for extended periods of time, he has been known to talk to himself. His bright character seems to be a helpful tool for the agent when he is tasked with impersonating a character or acting out a role in his various assignments.

Despite this, Marshall has frequently demonstrated narcissistic behavior and overtly forward sexual tendencies. He flirts recklessly and without restraint and has had dozens of known public relationships, all of which lasted no longer then a month. His ego frequently clashes with other authorities on the field, and Marshall will often abandon a set-plan in favor of a direction or course that he deems more effective. Despite his obvious tactical success on every mission he has been sent on, Marshall has been suspended from duty three times, detained four times and brought up on charges of sexual harassment twelves times.

Austin Marshal 's eyes widened in disbelief as Manarva literally disappeared, practically teleporting directly behind him. Austin heard the whir of the chaindisc and barrel-flipped in the air as he attempted to avoid the projectile... but it was too close. The disk grazed along his backside, etching a thick welt one his v-cut latissimus.

With teeth clenched, the agent rolled off to the side, tumbling over the ground a few times as Minarva fired at the floor below him. The agent collided abruptly with a large, metal tank in the corner of the bar, a loud -thunk- resounding upon impact. Rubbing at his head, the agent stared up at the tank with an irratated glare. "PRESSURIZED AMBROSIA" it read.

Damn Aschen and their fancy drinks...

"Alright, love, you've got skill with those discs, I'll admit," Austin grinned, clenching his backside as he swallowed the pain pulsing throughout his body, "...but seeing as how I'm not using my gun, I hardly think it seems fair that you're sniping at me from afar. Let's settle this hand-to-hand. If you can best me with fists, I'll go with you."

Minarva snickered and shook her head, "You avoided the chaindisc, none can do that. Not even a Sentry Program can dodge it." She hissed. Her words an intermix of felines noises and english words. "Besides" Her face had a smirk, "I was aiming to miss. I was hoping to clock sense into your mind, but apparently not." She shook her head again, "Against me hand to hand you would not survive. You barely dodged the chaindisc, But I hit you with the datadisc. And if I were aiming I'd have shot you in the back of the skull. But I did not. Because I need your help. are we still Agreed to your terms ?" Help, help with what ?

Her gaze moved to the other woman in the bar, the one that spoke to her. Unable to place her she shook her head again. "If I kill him, then I am unable to find a logbank for a datasearch, that I need him for." She pointed to where Austin was getting to his feet.

She thought over the scene before her, 1st; her target was dazed, and most surely half blinded, then, there was another watching them, drinking some sort of human drink. lastly, there was the ever pressing need to find a Digitiser and a databank. So that left one option, end the fight, with the man she knew she needed to help her still alive. maybe drunk

"I ain't exactly a 'Sentry Program', love," Austin shook his head with a dazed smirk, "just a man." Wounded and beaten, the agent assumed what appeared to be a weakened fighting stance, his hands outstretched defensively before his face with his legs flexed and his posture forward. It looked incredibly easy to just walk up to the man and take him down.

"...now are we going to finish this fight or are you just gonna' sit there and look pretty?" Austin grinned, throwing his hair back with one of his hands and centering himself towards the halfbreed.

Minarva snickered, "I just told you, If I were to fight you weaponless, you would not survive, and it is imperative that you are alive for this venture." She said. Though she looked thoughtful, "Though if you insist...." She diappeared, and then reappeared without a sound not centimeters from Austin's left, She whisper into his ear, "Boo" Then disappeared again. Reappearing closer to Korlyn, However she kept her gaze mostly on "Even if just a Human, Weak, small...." She said.

Then turning to Korlyn she took in the smaller elven woman. Tiny ? A petname ? Sheppard gave the Felinus petnames before, until threy got angered at him and told him off. The guy though was indeed Human. But this person was not. "Minarva. Nice to meet you. You say you have a way to get me to a databank to do a datapacket lookup ?" She asked loud enough for Austin to hear, And no need to fight either, well, there must be a catch.... There had to be.

Austin Marshal startled as Minarva flashed in and out of his perimeter. Dammit. He'd need to be faster next time.

Rolling back one of his shoulders, Austin appeared not the least bit concered with the prospect of Minarva finding an alternate option besides the TIB. On the contrary, this meant that, should he lose the fight, he wouldn't have to lead her through classified TIB archives and possibly lose his job.

"Found another databank source?" Austin called out, "oh that's just fine, love. Don't worry about me. You go on ahead and get that figured out with your new friend..." He paused for a moment, considering his situation. While he DIDN'T want to lose the fight... NEITHER did he want to pass up the chance to bed a elf-Felinus halfbreed goddess.

"...of course, backing out now means YOU lose the fight..." he added with a mischievous smirk, wincing in pain as he stepped forward.

Austin Marshal hung suspended in the air, struggling to pull himself back up from the gaping hole in the floor-boards. The agent listened intently to the girl's feline purr, smirking and coughing at the same time as he struggled to pull himself up from the crater with a wounded latisimus. If she wasn't so damn HOT Austin would have never gotten into this mess. It was all her fault.

"I'm sure you can do A LOT of things at once..." Austin admitted humorously, "...look, why don't you help me up? There's no way I'm going to beat you in terms of raw skill. Let's talk."

She reached down and not only did she grab hold of Austin, but pulled him up from the hole in the floor, then set him on his feet a few feet from it.

The moment the graceful halfbreed pulled Austin out of the ditch, he struck. It was no blow from his fists or his legs... no throwing of a chair or slashing of a weapon. Already very near Minarva's feline figure, the agent pressed closely to her, locking his legs about her sturdy figure and pressing a grip around her neck. With a proper hold established on the woman, Austin drew his gauss pistol.

"Humans are always the same, they stink of some weird human drink."

"That so, love?" Austin grinned mischievously, "...try some. You might like it."

That said, Austin leveled his pistol over Minarva's shoulder, firing three shots at the Pressurized Ambrosia Tank he had crashed into earlier. Blue-white streaks of gunfire emminated loudly from the firearm, colliding with the tank... gallon upon gallon of liquor stirring in the massive metal container upon the sudden chaotic disruption until...

WHOOOSHH

The tank, not five feet away, burst... letting a flood of murkey green ambrosia explode from the pressurized cylinder in a fury. With Minarva held securely, the agent rooting the girl to the floor with his weight and brawny strength, the girl would hopefully be swept away along with Austin in the typhoon of alcohol. It had been Austin's plan all along. Realizing he could never win through pure skill, he opted for a more 'human' approach... utilizing his environment and intelligence to turn the battle over to his favor. Hopefully it would do just that.

"Battle of wits" indeed.

Austin Marshal stuck his tongue in his cheek, quite intrigued that he had managed to actually get some sort of advantage in the fight. Still, the agent couldn't help but feel guilty. It had been a horribly cheap-shot... not at all the manner in which he desired to win. If he could win. Frankly, Austin was expecting one of those chain-discs to slice open his ribs at any moment.

"I'll tell you what," Austin murmured quietly, bringing his lips close to her ear, his voice edging along the cusp of a whisper, "...I'll let go, and we'll call it a draw. Sound good to you?"

Austin Marshal was thankfully wearing a cup, though the protection certainly didn't absorb all of the force transferred. The agent winced, groaning slightly as he clenched even tighter into Minarva's sensitive fur at the pain jolting through his body.

"...that didn't feel very pleasant..." Austin said on an exhale. The agent was about to try for a foot-sweep on the halfbreed, aiming to bring her down to the floor... that is, until Korlyn got herself involved. Realizing that a two-on-one was even more hopeless then his current one-on-one... Austin let go; rolling off to the side with an exasperated gasp, quite beat-up.

Austin Marshal walked quietly over to Minarva, his shirt completely off so as to allow him easy access to the stretching wound along his latissimus. The bandage flexed around his waist, holding an ice-pack to the running mark with tender care. His hair and bare torso appeared wetted as if he had just taken a shower, beads of moisture still evident on his tanned figure.

"There she is," Austin grinned over at Minarva, his eyes briefly flitting over to Yukiko as he eyed the rifle slung over her shoulder. A trained agent, Austin's attention was instinctually drawn to any weapon that was presented in the immediate area. That carbine looked pretty nasty, too. Hopefully there wouldn't be any trouble.

"...so after you thoroughly kicked my ass last night," Austin's focus returned to the Felinus, "I figured I'd be a gentleman and buy you a drink. I see you've been enjoying it. Maybe some dinner to follow it up?" Should she inspect the human once again, she would find the smell of alcohol completely gone from his breath. His scent was fresh and clean, his appearance more-or-less healthy despite the nature of his injury. Entering after Jacob's rant, he hardly noticed the wounded man sprawled on the other side of the bar.

"Sober as I'll ever be," Austin grinned at the Felinus, "had a nice shower in the back. Bandaged up that nick you gave me... it should heal alright." At the mention of her victory, the agent rolled his eyes, resting his forearms on the bar counter.

"...alright, yeah, I guess you win," Austin admitted ruefully, "you got skill, love. That's for sure. No matter how fast I may be, those toys of yours are too much for my guns."

Austin Marshal shrugged, "...yeah, I guess so. I don't go back on my deals, after all. Eddy taught me better then that. I'll get you your digitiser." His eyes narrowed. "...but don't for a SECOND we're going commando on this. If I'm leading you in there it's gonna BY THE BOOK. You're not getting anywhere NEAR Clearance Three." The agent crossed his arms.

"...I'll be escorting you through the Pattern the whole time, of course." He raised one of his eyebrows curiously. "...as for what -I- wanted, I don't think it should be too hard to imagine, love. Of course, I won't hold you to anything. You won after all." A mischievous grin. "...unless, you're feeling especially generous, of course."

"Point taken," Austin grinned widely, rubbing at the back of his neck in clear elation for even the slightest bit of close-contact granted with the Felinus. "...but I've seen the TIB Pattern system before. Nothing new for me. Besides, the data-backed we have packed up into those encryptions are heavily guarded by our own sentinel PC-defender programs. We'll be fine."

The agent's eyes naturally drifted towards Yukiko. It took him a mere fraction of a second to realize that it was PRETTY girl who was calling him out to flirt.

...it took a fraction of a second MORE to realize that the pretty girl was Yukiko.

"...um..." Austin stammered, "...it's a... lovely... evening, Empress..." The agent struggled to offer the girl a response that wouldn't result in his immediate execution.

"Shhh, hold on a sec, love," Austin murmured to Minarva, "...look, maybe Gambit's Bar isn't the best place to discuss this. Why don't we head back to my apartment to talk about this a little more?" Austin wasn't just saying that because he wanted the Felinus-goddess in his apartment. Not for the most part, at least. Not only was Yukiko, Taiyou Empress-Bitch extraordinaire, making a move on him... but the familiar face of Luis Galdamez had just walked into the bar. What was THAT white-collared high end politician doing in a place like THIS? Austin resolved to get out of here ASAP before he lost his job. On the other hand, he couldn't just LEAVE Yukiko without a word.

"...well, um-... thank you... your empressness..." Austin smiled widely, rubbing at the back of his neck, "...you're looking very... attractive... yourself..."

"Thank you, Princess," Austin breathed a sigh of relief, happy to have escaped the situation with his neck intact. With his nervous gaze flitting constantly over to Galdamez from where he stood talking to an NPA agent, Austin slowly attempted to edge his way out of the bar. He'd never hear the end of it from Director Drulovic if he was caught at Gambit's by the Attorney General of Terra, shirtless and in the company of a scantily-clad cat-elf.

"It's as easy as that?" the agent murmured back to Minarva, remembering how she had teleportation abilities. As quick as he could, the young agent thought of the front door to his apartment.

The setting changes from Gambit's Bar to Wing City

Austin Marshal 's eyes darted about the place quickly, quickly taking in his surroundings as if confirming that he was indeed in front of his apartment. "No particular reason," Austin shrugged off Minarva's questioning, "...just some old faces at the bar. Didn't feel much like talking to them." Walking up to the front door, Austin's hands swiftly flitted-over a nearby keypad, punching in the combination to his home.

"M'lady..." Austin grinned as the doors opened, mock-bowing as he kept the entrance open for her entrance. The agent's apartment, the top-floor penthouse in a prestigious Uptown Wing City skyscraper, was lavish at worst. Stunning at best. The tall Felinus would find herself relieved of her stooping at the dark, woodwork ceilings arching above her. Soft carpet meshed beneath her feet, the atmosphere inside instantly warm and comfortable. To the right was a small living-room set up, complete with several black-leather sofas and a plasma screen television. Up ahead, the lights from Austin's kitchen glowed in a quiet shade of dimmed gold.

But perhaps the most stunning feature of the apartment was the view. Nearly the entire far-wall of the penthouse was solid glass, giving a perfect overhead picture of the vibrant Wing City night-life... the sea of colored towers and buildings sparkling beneath them in cosmic beauty.

"Take it easy, love," Austin assuaged the woman's hastiness, "don't be so up-tight. That digitiser isn't going anywhere... and it's not going to do EITHER of us any good trekking off into Fort Veritas after THAT little episode back at Gambit's." The agent kicked off his shoes, heading swiftly for the kitchen. He was still lacking in a shirt, though the penthouse was warm enough to where he wouldn't have needed one anyway.

"Could I get you something?" Austin called out as he opened a large refrigerator, "some food? Water? That funky-pink shit you were drinking at Gambit's earlier?"

Austin Marshal looked at Minarva with furrowed brows, the wellings of sympathy evident in calm demeanor. This whole time Austin had supposed that Minarva was just another intelligence-thief. Someone after the precious TIB archive information to sell it for a price. Only now did he understand how wrong he was.

"...I'm sorry, Minarva," Austin cast his gaze downward, "...I didn't know you were doing this for your sister. For your family." The agent nodded slowly, smiling faintly. "Of course I'll help you."

Walking swiftly over to the Felinus, the agent quickly checked the topographic map Minarva was displaying. "You're saying there's a digitiser HERE? In this hotel?" Austin eyed the location of the map. "...in THAT room?" There was a sense of anxiety in his voice.

"Oh, I can get you IN," Austin grinned, "THAT'S not a problem. Not what I'm worried about." The agent stepped around the woman, padding off to his bedroom to change his clothes.

"What I AM worried about," Austin called out as he walked away, "is just WHO exactly this guy is. Most normal people don't keep digitisers in their spare pants. How does this guy have such a high-tech piece of equipment, and why?"
