History

Avia is a creation of genetic engineering--a scientist took an embryo from a siren that he had captured and placed it in his wife, as she desired a daughter with a beautiful voice. Her genetic material melded with that of her human mother, a process that nearly killed her human mother during the pregnancy and birth and leaving the mother permanently weakened and infertile. Avia was left in the wilderness after the father decided that the child was cursed and unholy. Bandits found the girl and raised her until the age of eight, where they sold her to an elderly librarian in a small village. The librarian cared for the girl, even teaching her magic and his suspicions of her heritage from numerous tomes in his home. When Avia turned twenty, a pair of sirens came to the village, hypnotizing her and taking her to their island to learn about her bloodline. She was given a set of ceremonial horns and staff as a parting gift as the sirens tasked her with finding the labratory where she was created and releasing her siren mother from captivity.
