Belka's Story

Thunder. Lightning. Rain. Ugh, what a day...

The younger assassin was stationed at a small stream, her armor and weapons lying on the bank next to her while she stood in the river, cleaning blood off of her equipment as well as doing a bit of washing herself. Her clothes had also been covered in the gore of her recent kill, so she hadn't taken them off when wading into the water to clean.

Her wyvern stood guard, the yellow eyes of the draconic creature scanned around the area around. It was ready for attackers in case Belka needed to get into her armor really quickly...though for now, it was just sitting on guard.

Belka was sitting atop her wyvern above the water, resting upon the craggy cliffs above. She was overlooking the surrounding area with cold and steely eyes, her axe clenched tightly in one hand. This area used to be rife with crime, and still...she expected some criminals to come around that business could be dealt with. She picked up on two sounds...the sound of a boat, and the sound of something even louder...then, broadcast to everyone was a message.

"Strange..." She whispered to herself, thinking. If that hadn't caught her attention, the creature beneath the sea would've been seen by her. Holding the axe tight, she prepared for something...odd to happen.

Belka was rather confused as to what was going on. There was a...boat? In the air? And to add to this, water was being flung up at the ship in massive droves. She was ready to launch into battle, expecting to be attacked, yet she...wasn't? Hrm...Very well. With her eyes focused on what was going to be a battle, she saw the sea creature being drawn out. She'd wait before making further action...

Belka was unsure if she wanted to touch the water while it acted this way. Just getting near it is dangerous...it's not a bad idea to stay up here on the cliffs. Moving to place the axe back in its sheath on her wyvern, she had it walk a bit along the cliffs, rocks falling down to the beach. It wasn't like she was keeping to stealth, despite how advantageous it might have been. Her eyes focused on Jeff, the man in the strangely bulky armor and assessing if he was more of a threat than he appeared.

Belka just...watched. This was a shit show of the strangest variety. And yet, there wasn't much to do about it. Eh. Between the creature's lovely journey through the sky and back down again to the deescalation of the combat that was about to break out, Belka gave a small nudge to her wyvern. And, as if it knew her intentions down to the letter, it began to pick up flight (unlike the poor sea creature), bringing her a short distance down until she landed upon the beach not too far away from Jeff. She was unarmed though armored, and the wyvern though it bore armor was almost completely docile in nature. It was like an extension of Belka rather than a beast for her to merely ride and command. The bond between them was deeper than that of a mount and its rider...

With a glance to Jeff, Belka questioningly examined his armor. "New to this part of Terra...?"

Belka looked relatively unfazed by the woman and her...magic? Water magic. Right. "I've been here long enough." Was all Belka would offer as a reply for now to Jeff, her wyvern heeling and taking a few steps back from the woman with the water. "Considering how wildly you control your magic, I wouldn't recommend people to lower or drop their weapons even at your request...you strike me as psychotic."

Her reply was as blunt as they always were, emotionless eyes glancing back to watch the metal coffin sink into the sea along with the monster. Wonderful. Her attention was then drawn to Jeff. If the water did manage to snatch his weapons away from him, she'd pull a knife from a hidden sheath within her boot, tossing it down to him. "Here...best not to be unarmed if you're dealing with a mage. Especially, again, psychotic mages...speaking of, what exactly is it that you want witch?"

While the chaos continued, Viki began to climb up the rocks. She was naturally a very adept climber. It was a better vantage point, way up here, so long as nobody looked up.

Belka gave a bit of a look to Jeff before he needed to head off(?) of something similar. Either way, she was left with the sea witch now and that was all. Well...not including the scraping of metal from afar, that wasn't pleasant. But that also wasn't going to hurt her yet. So in the meantime she crossed her arms while astride the beast, staring at the witch. "Krisandra? I see...I am Belka. And you say you're a pirate...which means you are willing to perform unsavory activities I'm sure. I may know someone who is looking for that kind of work."

Belka leaned upon a chair within the bar, her dull eyes scanning across the bar. She noticed the soldier who just appeared, an eyebrow raised. It was odd to see him again, but that was besides the point. She was now in the bar with him, and that...looked to be about it.

Belka gave a small grunt at the comment with a light shrug. It wasn't too much of a 'fancy' for her, more of a coincidence. Watching him order a drink, she raised a single eyebrow. "Trying to get smashed...in a place like this?"

Belka shook her head. "No. And it's not strange at all here on Terra." She retorted, a bit of a scoff. She took a sip of a drink, though it didn't look like alcohol. It was carbonated and fizzy...probably soda of some sort. "I'm assuming you're new to Terra as a whole though."

Belka let out a soft sigh. Of course, new people from different areas...it was difficult to manage all of them. But, what could she do? "I'm from an area known as Nohr. It's a country that's not from here. No idea what the planet was called...I only learned about 'planets' recently."

The vibrations and currents of the water resonated loudly in Krisandra mind, something big and powerful was preparing, a loud klaxon made her realize, what was about to happen. Immediately, horror listed on her face, not registering this in speech, she grabbed Belka if she would let it and dragged her to the nearby cave within the cove. If not and Belka chose to stay, she would yell from the entrance, "THEY HAVE A SHIP ABOUT TO FIRE, EITHER FLEE OR RUN HERE!" her eyes pretty much made obvious she was not joking, that and loud clanging of the Klaxon as the ship prepared to enter action stations prepare the weaponry to fire.

Whatever happened the water nearby allowed Krisandra to create a bubble reinforced with ice to shield the cave entrance. If Viki had seen Krisandra preparing this, perhaps she may head toward this. Nevertheless, Krisandra focused her powers to draw up nearby water the liquid genuflecting as she caused it to form and shape while also dropping the temperature of some of it, to form an ice barrier.

The whole thing would take roughly five minutes and required utmost focus.

Vicki watched the slow formation of an ice sphere, the escalation of the scene, and realized there might be some serious trouble. Helicopter blades thrupping overhead was all the confirmation she needed! Diving out from behind the rock, she all but galloped for the safety of the soon-to-be-ice-sealed cave. As concentrated as Krisandra was, Vicki figured introductions could wait.

Sure enough, another large sky vehicle came whirring out of nowhere to address the situation.

There was calm, disciplined silence aboard the bridge of the Naginata class cruiser 'Shinobi'. The Captain puffed on his pipe, while watching the displays, listening to the transmission as it came in, the size of the Battlecruisers wasn't intimidating, nor was it's presence.

"Tāgettodēta o hondo ni sōshin shimasu.." The Captain said with a gruff nod, keying in a series of commands into his chair, and leaning forward.

The Captain's eyes moved to the scopes of the bridge's displays, two Shori type 1 missile batteries swiveled to life, preparing their high-yield nuclear payload to be delivered upon the ship that was looming above them.

Hundreds of Shori missile batteries all along the west coast of the Shintenchi island also swiveled to life, there were easily a hundred nuclear capable missile batteries locked onto that Terra Nova ship at this very moment. ParaSOL command and Control also utilized the targeting data to position offshore Anti--ship solarcannon emplacements onto the Battlecruiser.

With the chips in place, the Captain grumbled, before picking up the radio.

"This is a military operation of the Shintenchi shogunate, who does not recognize the Terra Nova Empire as the legitimate government of Terra; disengage now, or be destroyed." Once he said his piece, the Captain disengaged the communication, turning back to the weapons officer.

"Ute!" He called out.

The guns of the cruiser fired, a steady salvo of ten shells which careened in a broad arc, shrieking as they arced over the water, and struck land, massive, deafening explosions followed, as rock, sand, and dust was thrown into the air from shell impacts.

Engines kicked to life, and the Naginata began to surge forward, rapidly gaining speed, a simple fire-and-maneuver tactic employed by the Taiyou.

Massive thrusters on the rear of the ship bathed it in mist, reflective chaff and ECM were thrown up as well, making it increasingly difficult for the battlecruiser to get a viable weapons lock. In tandem with the ECW, a distributed-denial of service attack was carried out against all available wireless networking and communications aboard the Battlecruiser, wreaking havoc as the Taiyou cruiser repositioned itself.

The cyber attack by the Shogun cruiser would be quickly countered by the cyber defense of the Dark Omen. Sadly the temporary short out would require the gunners to retarget the cruiser....

But the Battle cruiser then received a recall order. The Emperess was recalling all forces in the area to the cities.

"Your failure to recognize us is invalid as we exist regardless of what you think... Luckily for you the Emperess deems this area to insignificant to start a war over... But be warned Venture too close to our cities and we will not be so tolerant." Alexis responded.

The Dark Omen would go to leave. Though Alexis wanted to make an example of this Shogun Lackey the order of the Emperess could not be ignored.

It had been some time since there had been any vast disturbances here, the waves had begin to erode the scars of battles past.

The waters bubbled as something large maneuvered beneath them.

Selerei sensed something, following a trail north.

The bubbles subsided.
