A kid who has telepathic abilities and is trying to use them for good
Attitude:
Benjamin has always been a relatively popular kid, however his abilities tend to make him be a little cocky around the popular kids.
He would much more rather spend his time alone or in a small group of people.
He has a knack for making things more of a show than need be, however he loves to entertain his group of close knit friends and has thus mastered slight of hand techniques and has developed a very broad sense of humor.
He has a crush on the girl who lives next to him, her name being Samantha Warsh.
He is cool, calm and collected.
He carries an extending bow staff in his hoodie pocket.
And he also has a few small flares in his cargo pockets that rip out of the lining.
He wears tinted contacts that make bright lights less intense.
He also carries a backpack that has a mirror, laser pointer, 3 additional bow staffs, a coil of rope, and a can of spray deodorant.
When Benjamin was in the 6th grade his abilities manifested during a test in his history class. Ben hadn't studied for the test and was struggling. As he started to panic he thought he had heard someone speak, then a few more people and then the entire class room was talking. He looked at each of there faces and none were saying anything. He tried to make out what the mass of voices were saying when he began to realize that the voices were reciting facts from the last chapter. They were saying answer and telling ben exactly what he needed to do.
Benjamin aced the test, and soon after began his search for answers, answers to his new found gift. He went home and that night he tried to read the minds of his parents, his sister Ally, and even his dog, Forester. He couldn't make out anything and decided that the incident at school was just a fluke.
A month later, Benjamin was sitting on the outskirts of the park outside of his school when he heard a man cursing loudly at someone. He went and looked everywhere around the park looking for this man who was slinging profanities at the world, as a cop car rushed past him he saw a grizzly of a man sitting in the back, one of the most angry looks imaginable across his face. Ben then realized what was happening. He was reading minds.
Ben went to the parks playground and sat on a swing as he watched a child play he tried to pry into the childs mind and see what the child was thinking. He couldn't defeat the childs wall surrounding its thoughts and was disappointed, not because he couldn't read the childs mind, but because the child had beaten him without even trying.
Ben came home that night and his parents had previously had a fight. His father was frustrated with Ben's mother again for nagging him about her Honey-do list. She wanted the patio restained and she was wondering why he was coming home later than usual lately. Ben's father's mind then began to think about another woman who wasn't Ben's mother and what the woman was wearing. This time images of the woman undressing streamed into Ben's mind and he tried to shut them out. He didn't want to know what his father thought about.
His parents divorced.
Three years later Ben becomes a freshman in High School. He had spent his time developing his gifts, and was now capable of seeing things through the eyes of other's, pushing his thoughts into others, and creating a personal illusion inside minds. He had become popular with all of the other students from middle school, but the year between middle and high school had caused a major switch in Ben's role in High school and he suddenly found himself the target of many pranks, and the butt of all jokes. Ben was okay with the jabs and could take the insults. He knew what he could do, and high school was nothing to him anymore except for a place to practice.
