Personality
The Big Deuce could hit a tick on a dogs ass at 120,000,000 light years away with the shot being 11,000 km in circumference
or just has easily shoot a beam with a circumference of 40,000 km about 1,200,000 light years.
As any powered weapon, it drained the amount of energy required to use, resulting in different energy outputs. The Big Deuce's superlaser, for
example, could destroy any capital ship with less than 1 percent power, crack a planet open to the core with 6 percent, blow it to pieces with a
10 percent shot, and destroy entire systems with a fully charged shot. In such cases, the amount of energy involved was so great it would
generate minuscule space-time singularities, sending part of the target's mass into hyperspace and generating a massive shockwave from
high-energy tachyons from hyperspace. Due to its focusing lenses and beam intensity, the energy wasted was extremely low, leading to a very
long shooting range, up to ? kilometers (over ? light-seconds away).
Equipment
The basic structure of the station was a sphere, with a 3,270,000 kilometer-wide trench containing docking bays running around its equator.
The Big Deuce is divided into two hemispheres, each subdivided into 12 bridge-controlled zones. The northern hemisphere held the main
armament of the station, a fearsome superlaser. This weapon had the external appearance of a bowl several million kilometers wide. When
activated, nine separate beams were each activated by a crystal through the Particle accelerator tubes, amplified through rings, and conjoined
to form one of nine separate beams that would focus outside the dish, focusing into a point to form a single incredibly powerful superlaser
beam. The power settings of the superlaser were adjustable, allowing for the destruction of naval vessels and planets alike. Blasts with the
power to destroy naval vessels can be fired in rapid succession, while Planet-destroying blasts can only be fired every three minutes and system
-detroying blast could only be fired once a day. This superlaser is powerful enough to destroy even a shielded planet with one shot.
The Big Deuce is comprised of 274,680,000 separate internal levels, stacked south to north. Each level is separated into 840,390,000 sub-levels.
A nominal number of sub levels were then stacked around the surface of the sphere, encompassing the inner stacked levels.
Facilities included parks, shops, and other amenities for the Human crew, as well as numerous maintenance necessities such as trash compactors.
The entire hull of the planetoid was covered in quantum-crystalline armor.
The battlestation also included 200 massive sublight engines in the midsection, as well as a formidable hyperdrive system. Driven by 402,210,000
individual generators tied to one navigational matrix, the Class 1 hyperdrive was fast enough to allow the Big Deuce to travel thousands of light years
in only a few minutes. All engineers working near the highly radioactive engines were well protected from it by a energy field that absorbed the radiation
and turned into usable power. General Teranis once likened walking inside the Big Deuce's interior as walking inside the Caves of Marengo, but with
illuminated tubing and plastisteel replacing the natural surroundings.Near the northern pole, a 100 meter tower was constructed and shielded to near
impenetrability for the Emperor to use as personal quarters while on board. Operational command of the space station took place from the overbridge,
which included the conference room. At any given time, around 3.4 million Imperial personnel (excluding droids) are aboard the battlestation.
History
While working on the Big Deuce ? delved into the operational capability of the superlaser systems, fixing several flaws found on the primary weapon
of the prototype. He also devised entirely new innovations, converting the superlaser into an even more powerful weapon. Numerous upgrades were
performed on the superlaser design when it was reincorporated into the Big Deuce. Whereas the original superlaser took a full 24 hours to
recharge, the new one possessed a rate of fire separated by minutes, not days. The new superlaser also had more individual beams—nine, to
be precise—with one in the center allowing better ease when aiming. The new targeting system allowed it to fire at smaller targets, such as
capital ships, as opposed to only planets. These modifications allowed the Big Duece to be ?.
The most important revisions to the Big Deuce's design made by ? were made to take into account and eradicate the technical flaws of the
original prototype battlestation which had enabled it to be destroyed during the testing. The first major change made in this redesign was the
elimination of the 2-meter-wide thermal exhaust port that was used to ignite a chain reaction in the main reactor of the prototype,
destroying it. This was greatly improved, from a defensive standpoint, in the new revision. Instead of venting gases out of a single port, billions
of millimeter-wide exhaust ports were scattered over the surface of the station, each of which propelled a small amount of the excess heat
and gases into the vacuum. The new system also took advantage of new highly-advanced protections and safe-guards that would seal the small
exhaust ports in the event of any unexpected excess of heat or energy.The second main advancement in the Big Deuce battlestation was the
improvement of its superlaser. Still located in the northern hemisphere of the battlestation, the much improved superlaser equipped in the Big
Deuce was much more powerful than its predecessor, and took only three minutes to recharge, in comparison to the 24 hour recharge required
for the prototype's superlaser. In addition, while the prototype only had the capabilities to fire on very large targets, such as planetary bodies,
the improved superweapon was upgraded with additional lower-power weapon fire options and targeting systems that were more suited for fine
-tuned accuracy, while still maintaining great destructive power, in order to fire the powerful weapon on enemy capital ships. The increased
external surface area of the new station also allowed for larger amounts of conventional armaments, such as milions of turbolasers and other
defense batteries, to be placed, further increasing the already impressive Big Deuce's defenses.
Unlike the Prototype, the Big Deuce was made of quantum-crystalline armor and equally divided into two hemispheres, which were in turn
subdivided into 12 zones. The newest incarnation of this dreaded superweapon, however, had a monstrous diameter of over 2.94 billion kilometers,
demonstrating the intellectual and physical evolution of the prototype. When completed, the planetoid boasted a hyperdrive system like no
other, comprising 402,210,000 individual generators.
