Breeze Ladrian

Daughter of a famous lawman, Breeze has followed in his footsteps, intent on making her own mark on history.

0 · 334 views · located in Antongrad Seaside Towers

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Tawanos

Description

A firm and statuesque redhead, Breeze is a striking woman. High cheekbones and piercing blue eyes make her gaze, and not her body, one of her most memorable features. Given recent events her beautiful eyes have turned hard and cold, promising terrible vengeance on those that had wronged her and her family.

Her preferred clothes are of a western style, riding pants, and long coat, all of high quality befitting her station in life, her mother would have nothing else, even if she would have rather seen her in dresses.

Height: 5'10
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue
Weight: Would you really ask a lady that?
Measurements: Up yours you uncouth slob!

Personality

Breeze was known in her youth for avoiding the lavish balls and dances of Elondel, her home city, that her mother made her attend. She would rather be out riding horses with her father or practicing her sharpshooting. However, on the rare occasions that her mother kept her from escaping she proved herself to be quite a capable dancer and witty conversationalist, enchanting more than a few suitors, which her father became notorious for frightening off.

An eye for detail, and accurate leaps of logic she was a born investigator, and made her father immensely proud when she chose to follow a career as an officer of the law.

Equipment

Breeze is a sharp shooter, learning from her father's legendary skill and technique from a young age.

She also has the ability as a Tineye allomancer to Burn tin that she swallows and heighten her five senses simultaneously to superhuman levels. This heightening of senses is something she harnessed to become a more accurate and thus more dangerous sharp shooter. The drawback being that sudden sounds and lights are similarly heightened, the sensation of pain is also raised without the ability to block it off.

She keeps tin powder suspended in an oil solution in little vials on her person to refill her internal supply at a moments notice.

She is also a Feruchemist, a Windwhisperer ferring which means she has the ability to store her senses within the tin bracelets and anklets that she constantly wears. Once she has stored one of her senses in a piece of tin she is able to draw it out at a later time to heighten the associated sense.

Because she is a Twinborn double tin, called Eagle Eyes, she has the ability to combine both and heighten a single sense to beyond the limits of either a windwhisperer or tineye. For instance she does not need sights on her guns to fire accurately at extreme ranges.

Her equipment consists of several guns, a high powered rifle which she can fire accurately at the extreme of her range, up to a mile and a half when she does equip her custom sights. She also has a custom revolver, Vindicator, which is accurate up to the distance of moderate rifles. She inherited the revolver from her father, his last gift to her.

History

Breeze was raised in Elendel, the capitol of Scadriel, in the lap of luxury, which she escaped from whenever possible. She had want for nothing physical, but what she wanted wasn't physical, it was the adventure her father had. She became somewhat of a tomboy, riding horses, playing cops and robbers, rather than more feminine games. She idolized her father, Waxillium Ladrian, a famous outlaw hunter in the Wilds and detective in Elendel.

She grew up learning his methods while going to prestigious schools and getting into trouble there. Her vacations were filled with trips through the wilds with her father as they 'checked on family holdings'. She learned how to track and plan for an ambush, how to hide her trail and locate clues. How the criminal mind could think. He also made sure to expose her to other tineyes and windwhisperers so they could teach her how to best use her abilities. She became notorious for being able to tell when someone was lying.

She grew quickly into a fine young woman and applied to the Elendel police force and similarly advanced quickly to the position of detective at the young age of twenty five.

It was not long after that tragedy struck. The rumors about the Mistborn, someone who could use all the allomancer ability, stopped being rumor and made their plans known by unleashing a Koloss army, on the Wilds and while the army was out dealing with them the Mistborn's own army of mistings, people who could each use a single allomantic metal, attacked and took over the city. Breeze was out of the city at the time and only heard later how her father had personally fought against the Mistborn and been killed. Her mother had been spared, but the implications for why were none to her liking.

She has vowed to kill the Mistborn and free the city from his tyranny.

So begins...

Breeze Ladrian placed her hand against the door to Gambits from the outside and paused. She burned tin lightly and listened to the conversations inside. With the rest of her senses being dulled by being drawn into her bands it was as though she was standing next to every speaker, the clarity of the conversations were to her. She heard the name of the woman she was looking for and pushed forward into the bar, letting her senses return to normal. She was thankful that she wasn't a tineye savant, but being an Eagle Eye had its own drawbacks. She walked over and sat in a spot behind Lysaria, her coat open so she could draw a simple derringer, no need for her revolver here, yet. With her other hand she pulled out a con and flipped it into the air. "Call it." A trick coin that would land on neither heads nor tails but instead its edge.

Breeze Ladrian sighed and put her derringer away in its concealed holster. She had been listening to Lysaria's heart beat and was relieved to find that it was steady, no sign of deception. "Sorry, Lys, I had to be sure. You wouldn't believe the months I've been having." Her shoulders sagged a little before she caught herself and stiffened once more, burning a little tin to shock her back to her senses. She looked past her at the man and then at Lys again. "I can talk with you later," her tone indicating that she would much rather not.

Breeze Ladrian nodded thankfully before she looked quizzically down at the mechanical frog that was so easily assembled from what appeared to be spare parts. She got up and waited for Lysaria to lead the way. Her senses heightened she kept her awareness on the people in the tavern, if anyone were to follow them she would be able to tell. Her father had taught her to be paranoid when it was required, and it was required now to be sure.

Breeze Ladrian walked up onto the fourth floor and closed her eyes, focusing on sound she listened to see if there were any other people on the floor, but it seemed deserted. She took a deep breath and walked over to the door where the smell of Lys' gun oil came from. She looked down at the lock and was impressed by it, and while there were some scuffs on it, there were no new scratches to say it had been picked or not, and the only other personal smell seemed to be Raize's black leather. But it was hard to tell over the cinnamon scent that was coming from another room. there were a lot of smells coming from that room, odd and conflicting, but not bad.

"I smelled your gun oil. You and Raize use the same stuff, high quality from outside Elendel, not many people use it." She did another once around the room just in case and pulled the blinds over the windows. "So... what have you heard?" She finally took off her long jacket and folded it over the back of a chair, taking out her revolver and set it on the table within reach.

"Yea, your family, my mother," she shook her head and rested her face in her hands. "Maybe one noble family in ten escaped the city. The rest were forced to stay or willingly joined. And... things are weirder. And I don't just mean the Koloss in the Roughs. There have been sightings." She frowned and looked at Lys as if daring her to ask, to challenge her.

"Well... it's hard to tell exactly who they have hostage. A couple places they're keeping sons or daughters, and others it seems like entire families have disappeared or been put under house arrest. As for the sightings..." She gave a resigned sigh. "People have been claiming to have seen Iron Eyes around the city, and reports of the Faceless (Kadra) have been cropping up also. I've even heard people say they saw The Survivor, or Harmony walking the land." She shook her head, obviously disbelieving the last two. "But the Mists are coming back strong, that's for sure. Reports of people snapping has increased, but I'm not sure that's not just normal folk freaking out and spreading rumors."

Breeze Ladrian didn't mention the small bound volume that she kept hidden away, a last gift from her father who says that he got it from Iron Eyes. A small book that gave insight into what was being planned. They just didn't expect the Mistborn to come directly for him in the process of taking over the city. "There are mistings out in the Roughs, we're trying to find how many will join us. But... we need something more. The Mistborn has hundreds of combat ready and trained mistings. We need an edge. Which is why I'm here. You and Raize have been out here for a while now. Is there anything we can use to take back the city from this madman?"

"We have found some places in the Roughs to gather and train. Some of the Lawmen out there have come in to start raids on the city and the supplies going to it. But we're missing something. It isn't enough to just try this on our own. We need a serious plan. We need a Crew." Speaking a bit like a Survivor, or someone from the church like Raize used to be. "I'm trying to get specialists who can work with me to take down the Mistborn before things go too far. We can't have him turning into a Lord Ruler or something. And the people backing him need to be brought out into the light to pay for their crimes."

"Yea, he's a mistborn. No one else could take on my daddy like he did. Daddy was good, one of the best coinshots around, and even with vindication and specialty rounds this guy..." She didn't continue thinking about the fight. "Young, mid teens, but already a skilled fighter, and no name... not that we can find anyway. Just the Mistborn. Someone made him for this or something..." That was what her book hinted at anyway. She paused and looked around. "Do you have anything to drink here?"

Breeze Ladrian pushed her hat down against the wind but kept her eyes trained. She had heard that the Mistborn had sent hunters after her, and she needed to survive them if she was going to overthrow him. She let her vision heighten and peered down the street, tracking people in groups. Always checking behind her and off to the sides. Some might call her a touch paranoid, but they didn't have people actively trying to kill them.

She spotted the movement high above the city streets and watched the figure run. She burned a bit of tin in her belly and pulled out some sight from her anklet. In an instant the man was as clear to her as though he were standing next to her. She dismissed him as a personal threat, but her awareness was heightened by the activity of the police who seemed to be pursuing the man. She debated drawing iron and putting him down for them to capture, but shook her head. She shouldn't draw attention to herself. She couldn't be caught in a situation where people could recognize her without her say so. She shook herself a little and trudged down the street towards the fountain. She was supposed to meet a contact there and get some new information about the state of Elondel. She had made some friends here and in Wing city also who might help her in the coming war with the Mistborn.

He was watching her now... interesting. Did he have some heightened sense also? The range of abilities in these cities was astonishing. Was it something in the water? If so she wanted to bottle it and send it to people she trusted.

She walked over to the fountain and sat down. Though night it was still quite pleasant out. She cast a critical eye over the artistic peace but her heightened senses kept her from really enjoying anything made by man. Her abilities let her observe something very closely on many levels. The closer she observed something made by man the more crude it became. Whereas those things made by nature were infinitely more amazing the closer she observed. She could barely stand to look at a painting, but could spend hours observing a tree.

She kept burning her tin, heightening all her senses, her clothes had been specifically made to be as comfortable as possible, so that the increased tactile sense wouldn't become a burden. She kept a portion of her senses on the man, even as she kept her back to him, if he were to try something, she would know.

Breeze felt nothing threatening from the man at all, his behavior and reactions merely showed relief. She took that as a good sign and relaxed a little herself. She cast eyes around at the people trying to spot her contact, but he wasn't in sight. She wanted to check her guns, but that would have been in bad taste out in public. Especially as she was trying not to draw attention to herself. Instead she just reached inside her coat and touched first one then the other. She caressed the handle of Vindicator and calmed herself further, it was something she had memorized years ago, every little divot and groove along the metal, every fiber of the handle. It was a reminder of her father and the promise she had made to him. She removed her hands, empty, and took a moment to center herself. She stopped burning her tin and started filling her metal minds with all her senses leaving her completely muted, as if floating in nothingness Then she slowly let each sense return until she was in the moment again. She turned to look at the man without heightening anything, he didn't seem to stand out at all. She almost had to check again to make sure he hadn't switched with some random man on the street.

"What a particularly abrasive introduction," she looked up at the man who had spoken. "I'm waiting for someone," she smiled a little as she adjusted her coat slightly, the movement appearing to just make her comfortable, while actually adjusting the shoulder holster of the small darrenger pistols she had under each arm. Two shots in each would be more than enough, she figured, if things went very poorly. But incase things only went slightly bad she stood and looked the man in the eye. "But no, I'm not lost. Are you?"

Breeze didn't need to see the men to be able to feel where each of them was. She burned tin and the world flared into high gear as she stepped forward ducking under the mans gun as she drew one darrenger, trying to shoot him in the foot before turning and firing one shot at the knees of each of the remaining two. She holstered her empty darrenger and then slowly drew out Vindicator, the custom high caliber long pistol. "Now, I'm more used to this area than I was when I first arrived, so you should know these are blessed silver bullets, and they will hurt just about anything you three might be. Now get out of here before I get curious."

Breeze Ladrian skipped to the side before the guns could be fired, able to hear the tension as the triggers were being pulled was a great benefit to her senses. She fired her darenger into the heart of one and vindicator into the heart of the other. The roar of her pistol deafening to her heightened senses, however it didn't stop her from then turning and firing into the heart of the third whom Enzo had already bitten and even as he died from a heart shot she could see the foam around his lips that had nothing to do with her bullets. She looked at him quizically as she fired her third shot into the heart of the one she had shot with the darrenger, the single shot from a .22 was unlikely to do much damage, but the Vindicator should put any of them down.

Breeze Ladrian whipped her hand away from his before he could grab her. "Don't touch me. I saw what you did to that man, you poisoned him. I hate poison. And you will not touch me until I have watched you clean your hands," she declared but followed after him. Her drop point was ruined, and she couldn't risk being arrested at this time. She holstered her weapons and made sure she hadn't left anything. She wished briefly that she had a lurcher here to pull the slugs out of them, but she doubted she had time anyway.

Breeze walked along the upper paths between the towers. She was looking into getting some flight adjust equipment. It wasn't exactly legal, but there were many residents that used things like mag-lev boots to 'skate' along the metal walkways and some used them to move vertically along the tower structures. It was seen as an advanced parkor system that required a physically fit body and some specialized equipment.

She paused as she watched some teens off in the distance spiral up along a tower with acrobatic skill. She envied them somewhat. As a sniper her ability to move from location to location unobserved would be amplified greatly with that ability. And they just used it simply to run. Such frivolity. She made her way towards one of the metro rail stations looking for some way to get in touch with these kids. The devices tended to be hand made by specialists and thus very hard to come by without connections.

She shouldered the long bag she was carrying and tapped into one of the bracelets, letting her listen more keenly to everything around her, then she sharpened her eyes and let them track to suspicious sounds so she could assess them. Her eyes landed on Liam briefly and sized him up, he didn't appear to be much, but the snake seldom did before striking.

Liam wiped the sleepiness from his eyes. Zamikar appeared next to him again. "Seriously, we are hungry, and out of money. Either you get us some money, or I will".

Liam cursed at Zamikar again, packing his blanket into his backpack. He looked around, hoping to find a snack. Nothing though. Not a single scrap. He looked around for a store that sold food. He had to do something soon, or Zamikar would just attack someone for money or food. That is when he had a plan.

He walked into the food store, looking for his mark. "I am getting hungry Liam. You are too..."

"Shut up Zamikar. I am getting us something, and without torture even...". What he did was get a huge bag of stuff. Then, he found his mark. A woman, near the registers. What he did is that while one of the clerks were looking his way, he put some food in. Once that was done, he would claim that he was helping his mother check out groceries. Then all he had to do was leave with the food, if it worked, and it did work, he would have a huge bagful of food.

"Happy Zamikar?"

"No, you didn't eat yet..."

He just hoped no one noticed him leaving or entering the store alone. He had been careful to avoid cameras, but the less who saw him the better, and register people see too many faces to give an accurate sketch.
