Bridget Bennett

Vampire Bookworm

0 · 387 views · located in The Maw

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by LovelyLisey

Description

Bridget is tall and lanky. She has short white hair and red eyes, which are a result of being bitten by a particular strain of vampire. She no longer recalls what she looked like originally, although she assumes that it was infinitely less cool. Bridget always dresses well, although she prefers gentleman clothes to dresses. She also prefers earthy colors, such as brown, red and green.

Personality

Bridget is well-mannered. She tends to be very calm. She is somewhat detached, as she does not become close to people easily. However, Bridget is not anti-social. Far from it. She is very curious about people and she enjoys talking to people immensely. She's the sort of person you want to discuss books with on a patio on a hot summer day while drinking lemonade.

Equipment

Bridget is not a fighter. She might throw a book at you, though.

History

Bridget does not have a very good memory, but she vaguely recalls being a wide-eyed heiress when a dashing and debonair vampire rake bit her. Bridget holds no hard feelings, however. She's glad to be immortal, because it gives her more time to read books. Bridget has made it her personal goal to read every book ever written. Therefore, you are most likely to find her sitting in a crowded place with her nose in a book, completely oblivious to any and all chaos around her.

The only thing bad about being a vampire is that she has to seduce people and drink their blood, which sometimes kills them. Bridget prefers wide-eyed young women. She is somewhat of a rake.

So begins...

((I see the problem. Somehow I ended up in a different room?)) "Wow." Bridget stared in fascination at teh different circles, her favorite circle most definitely being the Circle of the Lustful. I suppose that's what I have to look forward to if I somehow die, thought Bridget to herself, half-sarcastically. Lust was definitely her biggest sin. "The Cocytus?" she asked Jules. "What is that? Is that where Satan is?" Bridget felt uncomfortable asking so much questions, as being a generally well-read person, she was not typically in the habit of having inferior knowledge on a subject. However, most books about Hell only discussed how to summon and contract a demon, so her actual knowledge of the place was minute. "This city is truly beautiful," she said, more to herself. I would love to live here. Perhaps I should ask Satan about it...

Bridget accepted the pendant with a nod and smile, clasping it around her neck. The necklace was very pretty, a well appreciated gift. "You don't have to tell me twice," she said to Jules. "I'm no fan of the cold - and that certainly looks cold." Despite the fact that it looked cold, it also looked beautiful, with the bluish color and the souls as decoration. She cocked her head at Jules, who she noticed suddenly seemed to be a bit anxious. Strange, when meeting your business partner. "Is he really that bad? I know he's Satan and everything, but he was nice enough to help you with your nightclub, correct? Why, do you think there is any risk that he may try to harm me? I mean him no ill will."

Bridget recoiled instantly at the massive infernal centipede. "Ew," she screeched, looking at the massive infernal centipede that had been their train. "We were riding that?! How...how...unseemly." Bridget was not much of a girly-girl most of the time, except when it came to bugs and mice. She hadn't been much of a fan of the gerulons either, to be completely honest. She tapped her pendant and received the magic shimmer. "Well, hopefully he'll like me," she said, feeling a little unconvinced of that fact. "Should I have a brought a gift, I wonder?

Bridget was starting to get dizzy, following Jules. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the directions that he went in, and she would have worried that he was lost, were he not so sure in his footing. She also didn't appreciate the condescending tone of his words, which did not bade well for Satan. "I'm not much of a fan of condescending people. But given that it's Satan, I think I can keep my mouth shut if he's rude to me. Um...do you know where you're going?"

Bridget found herself shivering and rubbing her arms, before Satan even appeared. It wasn't just that it was cold outside, but there was an internal chill - like she was cold to the very depths of her soul. As Satan appeared, Bridget found herself staring with wide eyes like a child seeing snow for the first time. Satan is insulting me, she thought excitedly to herself. The Satan is insulting me! How wonderful! "Jules here invited me," she began. "I was enjoying the fine establishment that you own together, and he suggested that we pay a visit. I'm very sorry to intrude, um..." What should she call him? "Sir Satan. My name is Bridget." She wasn't sure if she should bend the knee, or hold out her hand for a handshake, or ask for his autograph. ((AHHHH I wrote this post 5 times and it kept deleting due to unfortunate things happening))

Bridget was not quite sure what was happening, but apparently the relationship between Jules and Satan was a lot more complicated than initially presented. A false advertisement, if you will. Still, Bridget hated the idea of Jules getting in trouble on her account, especially after he had been so helpful and accommodating. "I have nothing to hide," said Bridget. "And Jules was just...he was just helping me, you know? If we've intruded, please hold me accountable."

Bridget almost closed her eyes, because Satan's voice was so beautiful and comforting. She let him caress her on the chin. She nearly swooned. In the back of her mind, she realized that she was being seduced. Hadn't she done this time and time again, with beautiful women with shy smiles and adoring eyes? "I'm not very brave," said Bridget. "A bit unwise, I will concede. But compared to you, I am so very, very young." She felt faint. "And of course I want things. I want...I want blood. And women. And all the books in the world. Have you read all the books in the world, Satan? It's very difficult, because new books are coming out all the time...I want to know," finished Bridget. "I want knowledge. So, what do you want, Satan? If you could give me that knowledge, I think I should be very happy."

Bridget felt herself drawn in. The woman was beautiful, far more beautiful than anything beyond Bridget's wildest imagination. Bridget let herself be drawn into the embrace at first, almost sighing in pleasure. She even began to raise her hands to embrace her back, perhaps draw the woman into a kiss...but then, suddenly, like being slapped with cold water, Bridget remembered. This was not a woman - this was Satan. Bridget pushed herself out of Satan's grasp, scowling. "That was pretty amazing, Satan," she said. "You're truly a master. But I'm not sure if you can seduce a seductress, you know?" She grinned. "Try again."

Since Bridget was completely incapable of defending herself, the Gerulons took her easily by force. She hung, suspended, from a hook, right away from Satan's face. At least she was pretty to look at. "You're about as polite as I assumed you be," said Bridget, pouting. "I guess I should have expected this. I don't need any of your assets. I just wanted to meet you. I will gladly bow to you, if you mean what I think you mean - which is that I definitely show you deference. You are a far greater being than I, Satan - I would never pretend otherwise." She frowned. "What is involved in creating a pact, exactly?"

Satan's fist rammed, hard, into Bridget's stomach, winding her. She fell to the ground, but managed to roll away just in time to escape the kicking hoof. Gasping for breath, she crawled to the side, eyeballing the Garulans. Well, this certainly took a turn for the worse. She glanced at Jules, suddenly realizing what this was about. How rude! He took me for some naive sacrifice. "What have I done that's been churlish? I have been nothing but respectful to you. Nobody told me that you can only come to make deals, and had I known, I would surely not have imposed myself." Bridget began chanting to herself, a few quick lines. A book appeared, seemingly out of thin air. She caught it before it fell to the ground. Her trusty book of spells. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that...but if she were to die today, Bridget wouldn't go down without a fight. She still had too many books to read.

Bridget barely listened to Satan, as she was too alarmed by the pentagram. Luckily, Bridget's book-reading had given her a near-encyclopedic knowledge of different spells and pentagrams. And she knew that pentagram was bad. She began chanting furiously, forming a defensive spell that would counteract some of the binding spell. Still, she couldn't resist completely, and she began to feel sluggish, like she was moving in molasses. Still, it was enough for her to move out of the way of Satan's hand. Bridget chanted another spell. From the book, she pulled out a long sword, clothed in fire. "Jules, you said that you owned Hell earlier," yelled Bridget. "So what the hell are you doing right now? Is this why you brought me here?"

Oh, please. You conned me. You knew this would happen. I suppose it's my fault for falling for it so easily, but still. At least be honest about it. "I'm sorry, but from my perspective, I don't have a choice. I put my sword away, I die. I fight, I die. I'd rather fight, if I have to die. I'm not a violent person at heart, but..."

Bridget fought the urge to scream as the ice began to draw her down. She clutched the fire sword for dear life, even though she knew that she dared not use it. "Fine," she growled out. "I will be your servant. Is it too late to ask for some payment, in exchange, however?" She glared at Satan. "I have a request. A humble request."

Cold. Bridget struggled to speak between chattering teeth. She was going to be uncouth, but why not? Bridget was feeling angry, and all propriety had slipped away from her. She would now be as uncouth as possible. "You're very beautiful. I find myself wondering if you can sometimes take a more pleasing lower half, as well...I would be willing to serve you, even happily, if you were to treat me the way that you did earlier. I am a vampire, and I do have my lusts. I cannot help but wonder what it would be like to sleep with such a beautiful woman such as yourself." Well, when you feel like being a woman. She shivered. "That would be my request." ((Lol, not saying I want to cyber, just seemed like something Bridget would say. XD ))
