Description

A tall (6'), thin young man with blood red hair and icy blue eyes. His hair comes down just below his shoulders and is kept in a loose, low ponytail, his bangs coming down to his jawline and styled to fall over his left eye. There is a small goatee on the end of his chin. His face is a bit feminine, being thin with sot features, but sharp eyes. He has long, thin fingers that end in razor-sharp nails. He has a thin scar that goes from just above his left eyebrow diagonally down to the middle of his right cheek. He wears black eyeliner around his eyes and usually gothic-style clothes. The nicest thing he wears is a red leather trenchcoat, with the sleeves folded to above her elbows.

Personality

He tends to be quiet and shy, having to be handled like glass due to his fragile mental state when he meets a stranger. Once he warms up to someone, slowly, he'll start to talk, maybe smile. Once he's REALLY opened up to people, he'll be your best friend, almost like a dog, willing to do most anything to make you happy.

History

Caine was born in a big, big city to a drunk of a father and a sweet, shy mother. When he was born, and into his childhood, he was always a weak, sickly thing for reasons unknown to him and the doctors, so that really didn't help his situation at home.

At age 6, when he first went to school, he met a girl named Katarina and they became fast friends, mainly because she was the first person to come up to him and offer him a companion in herself. They were inseparable, despite her father's warnings that something wasn't completely RIGHT about the kid.

Shortly after the two became friends, there was a bit of an accident. One night, when Caine was walking his little friend home from playing, after he'd dropped her off and was making his own way home, he felt a chill. The next thing he knew, a tall, mysterious stranger had pulled the child into his chest and whispered into his ear a comment on how he'd grown. Before Caine could even ask what he was talking about, the stranger dug razor-sharp fangs into his neck and began to drink his blood.

Fortunately, Kat's father, who turned out to be a local 'monster hunter', stepped in and saved the day with a quick pistol whip. Having no idea how to even begin to help the boy, he took Caine to his own home, bandaging him up and laying him in bed, even staying the night with him to make sure he survived having his bodily fluids drained.

When the kid finally woke up, he was shocked and mortified to hear what had happened, and even moreso when Kat's father, Adrian, tried to feed him blood, having to resort to trickery to get it done. Vampirism did nothing to lessen Kat's affections and kindness towards the young lad, which was a lovely little gift, since Caine would never be able to return to public school. There's no education available for young vampires.

As he started to get tall and lanky into his teens, his mother gave birth to another child, a daughter, named Jessica. She was born with a terminal illness, dying two years later. Noone was more hurt than Caine, who had been best friends with his little sister, having NO friends besides his mother at home. He barely had time to miss her smile before his father pointed fingers at his 'freak' son, throwing the boy out of his home and, hopefully, his life, despite his wife's frantic pleas.

Caine was taken in immediately by Adrian, who had cared for him a great deal since his accident. Which Adrian started to regret, realizing that the whole ordeal had made the 15 year old not right in the head. What he DIDN'T know was that Caine wasn't even drinking blood, instead preferring to let his own run to hopefully get rid of the tight pain in his chest that kept him up when he should have been resting.

So it wasn't a total shock when one day he went a little nuts in the head when his now-girlfriend cut herself doing his laundry for him, unaware of his nasty habit of slashing his wrists to bits, and thus unaware of the razors he kept in his pockets. The smell of blood pushed him over the edge and he brutally slashed her to death, the sounds of screaming and struggling attracting Adrian, who took one look at the scene before whipping out his gun and firing at Caine, calling him a treacherous monster. Caine managed to escape, brutally murdering his parents before FINALLY running off and disappearing for a good, long while.

When he returned, he had spent a few years serving under an unstable man, whom he'd actually had a bit of a thing for, but was crushed as soon as a GIRL appeared on the scene and stole away his master's affections. He wasn't able to stand being left on the sidelines again, so he up and left them. He's back to wandering the streets, but isn't nearly as psychotic and has grown up a good deal. He better understands the difference between right and wrong (him more often having to go with the 'wrong' out of habit), and how to conceal what he is a little easier. He also has a companion to make his life a little less lonely- a black kitten with white socks he's named 'Lil' Shadow'.

So begins...

Caine Valentine sits at the bar, drink in hand, quietly watching Geno with an icy and cold blue eye. Then Carrie stumbled in and his attention was torn to her. His eye narrowed a bit and he sighed, taking a sip of his drink and looking back and forth between Carrie and Geno, wondering who was going to be more interesting first.

Caine Valentine looks over at Geno again, raising a brow only slightly, the corner of his mouth twitching. "...is there a PROBLEM?"

Caine Valentine chuckles, shaking his head and taking a sip of his drink, making an unpleased face before turning back to Geno. "Well, aren't you just completely boring...spoilsport..."

Caine Valentine doesn't even bother to look up, instead choosing to look down into his beverage. "Ahahaha...maybe...." He falls quiet again, sighing and hoping Geno would step down and stop making a scene. He didn't much like to be the center of attention, nor did he care to fight.

Caine Valentine watched the...insanity quietly, rolling his eyes and finishing his drink, licking his lips. "I'd like something else. And this time, something that could kill me..." He said, attempting a smile of sorts.

Caine Valentine sighs, shaking his head and mouthing 'whatever' to himself, turning around to watch the fight, elbows propped up on the bar. A crazy child and a wooden man. He felt like he was having an acid trip of some kind. "If I get hit with anything, I'm going to come over there and whoop you both..." he muttered, blowing a stray strand of hair from his right eye.

Caine Valentine blinks at the sudden and disappointing end of the action, sighing and instead turning at Avios, raising a brow, but not saying anything. After a moment, he turns back to the bar, scoffing. So much for entertainment..."Well. That was fun for a whole five minutes..."

Caine Valentine looked up at the woman addressing him, having to force himself to not smile at being addressed by a girl, lightly closing his eyes and letting his head hang. "...something strong that'll kick my butt in the morning?"

Caine Valentine actually smiles at Kiyan when she returns with his drink, holding it up in a 'cheers' gesture before taking a light sip, shivering. "Thank you kindly, ma'am...just...drag my unconscious body to a safe place when I'm done, if ya would..." He said weakly, tapping a finger against the bar and looking down into the purple concoction she gave him.

Caine Valentine smiles shyly at Kiyan, then looks back at Geno over his shoulder, a brow raised. "Maybe the 'grand stars' want you to get totally hammered...generally what you do at a bar...or maybe hook up or something..." He shrugged lightly, then turned his attention back to the pretty bartender. "Hey, as long as it's you, I don't mind..." He blinked, then blushed bright red, sinking down and just quietly sipping on his drink. Maybe he was a little more drunk than he thought.

Caine Valentine sighed and hung his head, shaking it as if to say 'nevermind' and focusing on finishing his drink, feeling his little wall go up now that someone else was around to hear him talk and be stupid and clumsy around a woman.

"My name is Caine. I'd ask yours, but...I'm starting to get the impression...that I'm acting like a creepy stalker..." He said, getting quieter and quieter as he went, lowering his head and muttering gibberish after noone could hear what he said anymore.

Caine Valentine smiled, showing off his teeth and his fangs a little, actually genuinely happy for once in a long time. "...it IS kinda nice..." He said, his voice starting to build up some courage. "...though I wonder what a pretty one like you is doing in a dump like this." He hoped he sounded at least somewhat smooth instead of a jerk who only wanted to get her in bed.

"Well, missy, quite frankly I have nowhere else to go. And I figured, since there was a bar, I might try to go there and work on my cruddy social skills." He tilted his head, brow raised. "...well...you certainly seem smart. Oh! Maybe you could...start your own business..." He looked over at the child, pursing his lips. "...away from insanity."
