Born in Canceron, Calen Ramos lived in the slums of Hades for most of his life. From an early age he learned how to fight, earning his bread and shelter with hard labor and keeping it with his fists. Eventually, the young man was lured into the Aschen military with promises of wealth and glory, leaving behind his meager existence in Canceron for a brighter future.

An aspiring marine, Ramos quickly distinguished himself from his peers in basic training alone. His outstanding combat skills caught the attention of his superiors, and the young man was moved into the TacOps division at a mere eighteen years old, the youngest ever. In his extensive training with the Aschen elite core, Calen's abilities as a soldier were expounded upon extensively. The young man became proficient in a plethora of weaponry; from lead to plasma, pistol to explosive. Under the tutelage of his nation, Calen learned a wide variety of different languages, and fluently speaks Gemonese, Basic, Latin and Taiyou.

With his gifted combative abilities and outstanding intuition, Ramos advanced twice as fast as his peers, meriting both their admiration and their jealousy. Within a mere three years of his service, Ramos had been promoted to Captain , one of the youngest officers in the Empire. The young man is currently engaged with the Galactic Unification war, hoping to make a name for himself in the bloody conflict.

Off-field, Ramos is reserved and thoughtful. He's an incredibly bright scholar and can pick up almost any lesson the first time it's taught to him. Not above having a good time, Calen preserves a decent sense of humor and loves the company of other people. He is incredibly devoted to his fellow soldiers, and whole-heartedly devoted to his nation and his superiors.

A paragon of his kind, Ramos is slowly coming to grips with his incredible gifts. He understands that he's far-above the class of the average Aschen trooper, and isn't afraid to flaunt his abilities on the battlefield. Calen is gradually developing an ego as he realizes the full extent his power, realizing that he could, in fact, become the greatest Aschen warrior who's ever lived.

Ramos lives for honor and glory. Having had a neglected childhood in Canceron that revolved purely around surviving and keeping a reputation, there is nothing more satisfying to Calen then achieving success. Despite this, Calen despises cheating. The Aschen truly believes in 'combat with honor', deciding that if he cannot win at something fairly, he would rather not win at it at all. He maintains a sense of morality, committing himself to his friends and respecting even his enemies. He despises looting and is appalled at the mistreatment of PoW's and torture in general. Ramos takes no pleasure in the pain of his enemies, and the only satisfaction he derives in killing them is the knowledge that he was able to defeat them.

Calen fought bravely throughout the Aschen Unification Wars, distinguishing himself on the battlefield and ascending even higher through the Imperial ranks. For all his valor, he was captured by Taiyou soldiers on Ragnaar and kept in captivity for a long while. During his imprisonment, former Aschen President Laura Roslin exposed Calen to the corruption of the Empire. Realizing that his entire service and point of existence was a lie, Calen fell into a deep depression; his mind broken beyond repair. When Darian McGregor came to his cell and offered him a new purpose under the malevolent teachings of the Ori, Ramos allowed himself to be swayed.

A true-born Aschen, Calen believes that all the endeavors of the Empire are for the benefit of its people, and are ultimately good. The Scatterans and Terrans are both terrorists seeking to wipe out the Imperial way of life.

So begins...

"I understand, Admiral." Calen nodded. "I made a tactical decision. Had I lingered any longer with the captain, both myself and the few mercenaries still breathing from the battle would have died. I did all I could for captain Henderson." His expression hardened slightly as Sheila put the burden of finding Cally on his shoulders. "I will do everything in my power to recover the Admiral, captain. I would request a squad of marines under my command for this operation. The catacombs beneath the city are long and treacherous. Virtually unnavigable without a guide. It could take a lot of time to configure them completely."

Calen Ramos struggled not to gape as the sudden shock of his promotion. This was precisely what he'd wanted: his first leap into officer. In just three short years, Ramos had moved from lowly marine to captain of the imperial armada. He was certainly going places. "I... Thank you, Admiral," he managed, grasping numbly at the box, "...consider the safe return of captain Callandra to be the christening of my promotion. I am honored. To say the least."

nodded fiercely. This was what he'd been waiting for... the chance to truly see what he was made of. Ramos had always known he was exceptional, and now his superiors were seeing it too. The real question now was just HOW exceptional was he? Any expendable TacOps trooper could clear a room of bad-guys with a dull pencil and a paper clip. It took a truly great warrior to raid one of the largest underground Terran rally points and launch an assault on a Scatteran flag ship. Calen wanted honor and glory. His name written down in the history books. The Achilles of his people. Here was that chance.

"I'm more then ready for any mission you have planned for me, Admiral Nagala," Caen grinned with fierce pride, "drop me into the crusts of Scatter itself. I'll have their leaders heads on your desk in ten centons."

Calen Ramos walked into Gambit's bar, a suit of T-65 Augmented Combat Skin layered over his muscular frame. His helmet was retracted, and several nicks of dirt and splotches of dried blood lay caked over his jawline and brows. The fighting was still fierce in Wing City, but the Aschen Empire had long ago managed to wrestle this little section of the city over from the rebels.

"Anyone in here know where I can get a drink?" he called out to [b]anyone in the bar who would listen[b], his voice articulate but not unkind. Ramos hefted his 53 RCW Rapid Capacitor Disruptor Rifle under his arm, remembering to stay on his guard while in 'enemy' territory. The trooper's vision flitted flawlessly from patron to patron, quickly deducing the ammount of persons in the bar, the equipment they were carrying, and all visible exits to the establishment. He wasn't about to take any chances with a place like Gambit's.

"What the frak..." Ramos growled, rolling of the side and tipping a table over for cover as he witnesses the fight between Celion, Chek, Shizu and Midori. The Aschen soldier had heard of the notorious brawls that broke out here in Gambit's, but he'd never actually expected to see one with his own eyes. Should he intervene? Try to ignore it? Leave the bar?

As the soldier was thinking all these things, he noticed a vase of Ambrosia decorating one of the bar shelves. This rare alcoholic delicacy had been exactly what he'd come here looking for. Peeking over his shoulder, Ramos observed the fight. This didn't seem to involved him... and all the combatants were apparently masterful gunmen. Despite the innocent patrons milling about the establishment, they all managed to shoot at only the people involved with the fight. Clearly these men were extremely well trained.

Charging his disruptor, Calen began making a slow bee-line for the bar counter.

Calen Ramos had just succcesfuly grabbed the Ambrosia off the shelf. As the Aschen soldier prepared to make his hasty exit, he looked back over his shoulder at the fight and noticed Celion. The warrior's brows knitted together in concern as he observed the ruthless manner in which the hunter attacked his targets, giving no head for friend or foe and endangering the lives of the screaming civilians scampering about the bar. This was no simple Gambit's bar fight. This was a warzone.

"That's enough," Ramos stood tall, his commanding voice calling out to everyone involved in the fight, though particularly directed towards Celion, "this has gone on far enough. Innocent people will die if you continue with this violence. There is no honor to be gained in this battle any longer. Put your weapons down..." He hefted his disruptor. "...or I'LL put you down."

Retracting his helmet back over his face, Calen sprang into action, jumping forward and rolling beneath the blinding beam of Celion's infinite rifle. With disruptor brandished, the Aschen soldier offered three blasts of return fire for the hunter, sending blinding green bolts of 10 million degree relativistic particles towards the adamantium-plated destroyer.

Immediately after firing, Calen once again found cover, rolling behind one of the bar's re-enforced tables. Ramos asked no questions as he fought. He let loose no hearty battle-cry or a plea for aid. In a mere half-second, the man's calm, easy-going mannerisms disappeared, giving full faculty of Calen's mind to the calculating, black-and-white world of a trained soldier. He saw his enemies, he saw his allies, and he saw his environment. Kill the first, protect the other, utilize the last.

Calen Ramos saw the cataclysmix blast spiral through the air, his on-board diagnostic scouter relaying the devastating energies packed into Celion's shell. He had half a second to do something about it, or everyone in the bar was going die.

Diverting all power to his forward shields, Calen leapt on the grenade with seemingly inhuman speed, the thick tri-duranthium plates of his armor smashing against the explosive and shielding the blast with his own body. For a brief moment, it looked as if the grenade would not explode...

Then it went boom.

A blinding flare of white light filled the bar. The sound was inaudible. One moment Calen had been there, the next he was not. A cackling hole potruded out of the ceiling of the bar.

The blast had, in fact, sent Calen spiraling three hundred feet into the air, literally smashing through the ceiling of Gambit's and soaring into the clouds. Ramos was nearly unconscious for a moment, the T-65 Quad Core MC processor in his armor working over-time to redistribute functional power into his armor. Aschen Combat Skin was designed to stand nuclear explosions, but they didn't mean it couldn't get seriously roughed up from a blast like that. Frankly, Calen was lucky to be alive. His shields had only been at 60% maximum capacity when he took the full force of that blast.

As Calen reached the peak of his ascent, his suit finally quirked back into life, reverting its forward energy back into one of his secondary 350ghz emergency processors. His visor and battle-relay lighted back into life, but gave the TacOps trooper a stern on-screen warning. He was running on backup power.

Ramos quickly began his descent, his half-ton armor being pulled back into the bar at 9.81 m/s. His targeting system quickly sought out Celion. The Aschen was literally planning his next attack as free-fell through the air.

It's likely that the hunter wouldn't even know what hit him. For all purposes, Calen was dead. But hardly a minute later, the TacOps marine would come crashing back through the roof, attempting to barrel into Celion after falling three hundred feet in the air. The force would be incredible, and both hunter and marine would likely be smashed into the floorboards of the bar.

"How d'you like that you son of a-" Calen had just enough time to revel in his brief victory before he was thrown off of Celion's hulking frame. Shit. This guy was made of tougher stuff then Ramos had thought. Anyone who could survive a half-tone projectile impact at three hundred feet was clearly a god-like opponent.

The TacOps trooper stood at crouch-ready position, watching Celion charge with energy and unsheathe his weapons. The marine still had his plasma pistol, but his disruptor rifle was still his greatest weapon. Seeing the gun lying across the floorboards where he'd left it, the Aschen made an all-out sprint for his weapon. He needed to finish this fight.

Calen Ramos saw the plates of Celion's armor retract, noticing the strange canon folding out of his armor. His battle-relay diagnostic ran a quick scan over it... but came back with little to no information. Whatever this thing was, it didn't use lethal energy.

Ramos' eyes went wide as he saw the gun charge, his hand absently flitting down to his plasma pistol in sheer instinct. He couldn't just let him shoot that thing. He needed to dodge. Return fire. Find cover. Something!

As the Aschen ran, he quickly barrel-rolled into the air with inhuman dexterity, attempting to dodge the blast... before Chek slammed into him, blocking the blast with a picture and knocking him out of harm's way. Ramos was safe for now, though he was a bit disoriented.

Calen Ramos breathed heavily, his head clinking to the ground as he rested his metal armor on the bar floorboards. "I think so..." he gasped, struggling to draw himself back up. Calen could only hope he'd never have to battle THAT adamantium monster again.

"Thanks for the help, kid," he nodded to Chek, "you probably saved my life back there."

Calen Ramos quickly strode into the cell, armed in his T-65 combat skin, his helmet retracted and allowing full view of his face. He bore no rifle, though a plasma pistol was strapped to his side.

Briefly murmuring to the troops at Nagala's side, Calen relieved the marines protecting the Admiral to attend to their other duties. The Aschen fleet was in full recovery mode after their devastating skirmish with the Scatterans. They needed every hand they could get. One TacOps trooper would have to suffice for Nagala's protection.

"You called for me, Admiral?" He stood with his hands clasped under his waist, his armor gleaming from a recent waxing, his jawline shaved and trimmed. It was a bit strange seeing the soldier without splotches of mud and blood spattering his physique.

Calen Ramos did not betray the stony reluctance brewing in his mind. Calen did not like to torture. Beating on a helpless man with his hands tied behind his back... what honor was there in that? Still, orders were orders. If William did not talk, Calen would have to make him.

"Answer the Admiral's questions truthfull," Ramos stepped forward, cracking his plated fingers against one another. At 6'2", 215 lbs of solid muscle and the sleek power armor fitted over his frame, the TacOps trooper made quite the menacing image.

Calen Ramos had, of course, been paying attention to everything that was being said in the interrogation. He was not some dumb muscle brought into the picture to rough-up the scenery... the Captain had a mind just as valuable as his skill with a weapon.

"The Multiverse is a strange place, Admiral..." he began after a short thought, "and no place in it is as strange as Terra. From my studies in Terran history, the United States military has been disbanded for many years. Moreover, they've never gone under the name 'United States Imperial Forces'. It's my speculation that these new hostiles are from some other planet resembling Terra... perhaps a different universe entirely. I doubt they even know what an 'Aschen' is." He smirked. "...well... NOW they do."

"As for the prisoner here, I don't think there's much to gleam off of him," Calen nodded to William, "he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. We should return him to a Terran safe-zone at the earliest convenience."

Calen Ramos quickly assumed file behind Sheila, briefly steadying himself as another tremor shook the Reverence. "Rebelles damnari..." he mumbled under his breath. The TacOps trooper kept a close eye on William. Guest or no, he was still a foreigner on an Imperial vessel. Who know what sort of stunts he'd pull? A soldier trusted no one except his own comrades, after all.

Calen Ramos side-stepped as he walked, maintaining his file behind Nagala while keeping tabs on William out of his peripheral vision.

"Tomorrow, actually," Ramos nodded, "I've been running tests on the Gambit's catacombs, and I think I've finally found a suitable point of entrance. This way I won't lose half my men scrambling around in cosmic darkness." He rolled one of arms forward, surveying the damage to the Reverence with a frown. "The Captain will be recovered within the week, and one of the main bases of Resistance operations will be uprooted."
