Carter is a pale 23-year old with tousled black hair. He is slightly taller than average, has dark brown eyes and a hawkish nose. He is usually quite passive and agreeable, going with whatever others say as long as it doesn't largely affect him. He prefers to solve problems without violence, but recognizes when a person is past negotiation. Carter uses a combination of magic and technology in implants that enhance his senses and physical capabilities. His eyesight is greatly enhanced, allowing him to detect heat signatures, and see in different parts of the spectrum, and more. He can scan an opponent to find visible weak points and changes in body language. This is assisted by a brain enhancement caused by the combination of magic and science used for his eyes. Using this technology, Carter also made a set of accessories to increase his strength, perception and speed, such as gauntlets, hearing aids and boots. Even without the enhancement, Carter has a higher than average intelligence, capable of finding a logical solution to a problem and devising an effective battle strategy. His weapon doubles as a melee/blaster weapon, able to melt through concrete.
Carter was 14 years old when he started experimenting with magic. His father was a Mage who enchanted machines, teaching his son to use magic and technology in harmony after his wife died. Later on, he started become bolder and bolder with his experiments when a spell backfired on him, blinding him. He learned to use other senses but felt dissatisfied without being able to see. He and his father (mostly his father) created a set of prosthetic eyes, giving his sight back. Now, after his father's death he continues to tirelessly use what he learned to design prosthetics and enhancements to help better the lives of ordinary people.
