An eerie young maiden that lives with the Detente. She is often seen around the ancient undead dragon, Mortuus. Despite living with vampires, she is completely human, and has no powers.
Upon her back is an intricate tattoo made with black ink; a spell circle. On either side are wings, one feathery, the other batlike. Both are tattered.

Catira Edrene's Story
"Can you?" she asked Alucard with her wide-eyed stare. She turned her head to Casren. When Alucard mentioned it was funny, the woman tried something new.
"Ahaha."
It was an awkward, mirthless laugh that showed that the girl really didn't know what she just did. Her face remained expressionless. As if it didn't mean a thing, she looked at the sword, then at Louis.
Hm. Material possessions.

From watching people in the past, Catira raised a hand as Louis left in a wave.
Then, as Alucard spoke, she tilted her head to the other side. So curious. "A drone?" she asked him. She gave Casren a confused glance. "What is it I need help with, Casren?"

"Corpses?" Her hands lay gently over her stomach. There was some kind of deep rumbling there. A sharp...feeling. A feeling. Her eyes widened. "Humans eat such things, as well?"
And, turning her head to Alucard. "Keep me? I never knew you had possession of me."

Catira nodded. "Alright, Casren. I must depart from this body for the night's hunt, but I do fear it will expire soon. Perhaps it is hungry, as well."
The setting changes from Room of Reason to Castle Vankoryth Entrance Hall
And there was possibly a lot to be worried about. The girl, that was, and not the mind inhabiting the girl, though potentially that was worrisome, too.
But while Mortuus was far away, roaming out of the cursed woods to hunt, for once, the connection between them severed. She was simply too far away.
And the girl had woken up. Terrified. Confused. She had walked up to the door, looked about the room, cried a little, somehow got control of herself, and looked for a weapon. She had to get out of there.
The first thing she found? An expensive vase.

The young woman stepped back a bit, jumping at the voice. Her heart fluttered.
"...I'm right here." she squeaked. "Come in." she said, raising the vase above her head.

The second his head lowered, the case came down onto the back of the head. The young woman let out a screech, then bolted out of the door.
She looked for stairs. Stairs...she was upstairs, wasn't she? She needed to get down!

"Go away!" cried the woman, running down the first set of stairs she could find. "Leave me alone!" She ran down to the door, and slammed against it, trying to open it up.
She pressed herself into the door, until she crumpled and placed her hands over her eyes, beginning to weep pitifully on the floor. She was going to die! She was going to die!
She looked up at Casren and Alucard with that deer-in-headlights look, scratching at the door enough to have her fingernails crack. She shook her head. She could see it in his eyes! Murder! Murd-
Right in mid-scream, there was a terrible roar outside, and the girl clamped her hands over her ears. "No! Nonono, not again! Not aga-"
She collapsed. Out of nowhere. Her heart, which had been quickly beating, suddenly stopped.

The woman on the ground blinked, her back to the cold floor, as she woke up. Her eyes moved calmly to Casren, an eyebrow raising.
"Casren, why am I on the floor?"

Carefully, she pushed herself up, then got to her feet. "The girl?" she asked Casren. "How odd. I did not believe she would wake up."
"I went hunting. The Cursed Wood is emptying because I am hunting there too much." she said. "I needed to go into Wing City. I did pick something up for her. It was a delivery man. The package he was carrying."
"Certainly. What is the trouble?" she asked. "Was she very noisy? Did she wake you up?" Her lips pursed. "Do you sleep?"
"Oh," said Catira. "Very well." She stared for a long moment, at Casren. There really was nothing further to say in response. No thank you's, no gratitude. Because Mortuus did not understand that was something to be grateful for.
And then, when the girl's stomach gave her a harsh pang, she bent over a bit.
"Humans are so fragile, Casren."

"Neither," replied Mortuus. "I brought a man who was delivering food, and ate the man." she replied. "And I carried the food here. Can I fit inside the castle, Casren?"
"Was that not what I asked you?" she replied, walking up to him. "Perhaps we shall open the door." She reached for the knob, trying to pull it open.
"Perhaps," said Catira, walking toward the bag of groceries to pick it up. She carried it off into the living room, and shuffled through its contents. From inside, she picked up a very red...apple.
She turned it around in her hand curiously, debating just how to eat it.

Catira's eyes flickered to Casren for a moment before they focused onto the apple. After another moment of scrutiny, she took a bite of the fruit. It took her a while to tear off a piece completely, but she managed it. Juice rolled over her lips, down her chin. She didn't seem to notice, but her heartbeat did flutter for a moment. That was different.
"Intriguing," she said in a mouthful of apple.
