Description
Name: Cenoic
Title: "The Fallen"
Age: He has power one could not gain in the life of a mortal being. Expect him to be a lot older than he appears.
Gender: Male.Race: Once upon a time, he was of a race of dark elves. After centuries of experimenting with forgotten magic, he is something more.
Home: Who knows?
Family: His children; Naomi, Abel and Nevan.
Friends: None to speak of.
Enemies: There are many.
Marital Status: Married to his mistress, Kenna.
Body: He stands tall and strong with a lean build. He walks proudly, powerfully and with no sign of hesitation.
Face: His eyes hold the hard gaze of a soldier, a veteran of war and horrific times. His eyes are bright, pale blue, but his left holds a tinge of crimson from when an ancient curse had taken hold of him. His ears are slightly pointed, but usually hidden by his hair. His bone structure seems to be perfectly synchronized; his chin slim but not pointed and his expression often stern or downright bored.
Hair: Straight and long. Once fair, but slowly turning dark.
Armour: Across his torso he wears a plate armour, made in layers of 'strips' a couple of inches thick that have been placed together to form a base of protection. These places interlock and overlap to provide a suitable arrangement between flexibility and protectiveness. The armour is dark grey, perhaps black. Underneath the vambrace and gauntlet his right arm is wrapped in a bloodstained cloth, which sometimes shows through the small gaps in his armour, a thread sticking out here and there.
His legs are covered by armoured greaves layered in a similar fashion to the rest of him, though his boots are thick and leather, only partially covered by metal.
Around his waste he wears a belt, and large tears of black material hang from underneath it and his armour to partially cover his backs and sides. On the left of his belt hangs a long, slightly curved blade of elvish make. Finally, he often wears a long, dark, travelling robe with a hood that shrouds his appearance.
Casual Clothing: Cenoic is often seen wearing the clothes of a nobleman, with little to no armour, though he will often keep a sword ceremonially. He is particularly fond of dark, blue and purple hues.
Personality
Traits: Strong, proud, intelligent and untrustworthy. Cenoic is a man who constantly attempts to play at his opponents weak points, and turn multiple foes against each other. He also strongly believes that a man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a true man, and so he dedicates much of his time to his children and wife.
However, his nobility is shrouded by a layer of darkness; he came under the seductive power of all kinds of evil magics, and since has never looked back.
In truth, although this man will rarely appear to be as such, he is a powerful overlord; with an array of dark creatures under his command and many powerful artifacts in his possession. He is a strategist, and whatever he sets his sight on, you can guarantee he will eventually get.
Current goals: None.
Equipment
Personal weapon: An endlessly long, thick, chain. It's black in colour; its surface crusted crimson in blood. Out of each loop extends a razor sharp curved blade, and each extension is on the opposite side from the last. He grips it without a hilt or handle, often causing injury to himself as he fights. This chain is enchanted to accelerate Cenoic's already impressive healing factor when it strikes an opponent, and through dark manipulation Cenoic has this weapon deadly to wield unless they possess his blood.
Secondary weapon: A slightly curved long sword of elvish make, enchanted to burn what it cuts with a white and black flame - a flame that both burns and freezes flesh at once.
Powerful Artifact: Cenoic came to be the keeper of a timeless book that holds the darkest and deepest secrets of magic, sealing and reality. Through the power gained by studying from this book, Cenoic earned the title of 'The Fallen', and is now trusted to be the book's custodian and guard its endless and forbidden knowledge. Cenoic never has the book on him, but it is always accessible to him. In addition, the effort Cenoic has gone into making sure the book is protected and cannot be taken from him is astounding and no-one has yet to come close to reaching it.
Skills and Abilities
(not complete)
Ancient Curse: A feature once most commonly attributed to Cenoic was the bountifulness of blood. At one time, as a result of an unnamed and ancient curse, Cenoic would bleed uncontrollably, and as a result he often appeared quite wounded. His blood became bonded with a malevolent and foreign source, and as a result his body underwent significant anatomical changes; giving him power at the expense of constant pain. His curse not only gave him some extremely specific abilities, but each individual cell can multiply itself rapidly and regenerate by potentially an infinite amount, limited only by his own inner "well" of energy.
Though Cenoic later learned ancient magic that allowed him to greatly slow, but not completely remove, the negative consequences, he remains capable of freely using all of the abilities that the curse granted him. In simple terms, these abilities greatly enhance Cenoic's power to cast 'blood magic', or literally, using his blood as a means of offence, defense and power. The three main components of this magic are regeneration, blood manipulation, and blood elementalism.
Regeneration means that Cenoic cannot die of any fatal wound. Even if cut into scraps, those scraps would slither back together, rejoin and regenerate until Cenoic once more stood as a fully formed person. The speed of this regeneration is as such that it is visible to the naked eye, often occurring quicker than damage can be dealt to him. As a passive ability, it also occurs whether or not Cenoic wishes to use it.
Blood manipulation, a rather violent process, allows Cenoic to manipulate the blood in his body and change its form into various physical extensions of itself. This can be blades, armour, extra limbs, or just about anything that he can think of. These objects can always be seen for their darkly crimson texture, even if physically they can be made harder than steel.
Blood elementalism is the study of using blood as an elemental base for sorcery, and Cenoic has put a great amount of effort into mastering it. Due to its liquid state, many of these elemental spells are similar to those one would find cast by a water mage, though Cenoic's ability to manipulate his blood allows for each drop to harden, soften or change shape at any moment. Cenoic could cast a tidal wave of blood that turns into an avalanche of rock, or a crimson mist that becomes a storm of sharp specks that flay fresh from bone.
Sealing Abilities: Upon gaining the title of The Fallen, Cenoic sought to expand his knowledge greatly by learning the arts of his predecessor, who was a master of Sealing Techniques. Cenoic, after years of study, has come to have a broad knowledge of the subject that is finally comparable to his former. In simple terms, sealing magics represent the school of being able to seal anything one can imagine (including objects, magics, or concepts) into a physical object or an extra-dimensional space, which can then be summoned and unsealed at will. It represents an infinite armoury potentially holding whatever Cenoic could possibly need, including curses, spells, minions to do his bidding, weapons, objects, or more.
Dimensional Manipulation: Through his years of experimenting with forgotten magics and sealing, Cenoic has learned to bend dimensions themselves to his will in a limited manner. These include phasing himself or others between realities, or creating strange anomaly such as bending two distant points in space into one, or changing the distance between two locations. He can even experience the fourth dimension, in a limited fashion. In day to day life and combat situations, Cenoic can use dimensional manipulation to simulate teleportation, or even phase into a reality where an attack can't reach him - leaving a decoy of magic behind that it merely harmlessly passes through.
Forgotten and Forbidden Magic: By studying and mastering some of what's contained within the enigmatic book he is guardian of, Cenoic has learned many forgotten and forbidden arts at the very depths of knowledge itself. As a result, Cenoic's power grew to be so encompassing and potentially catastrophic that he was invited to sit upon a pantheon of deities who overlook the multiverse.
Physical/Non Magical Abilities: Cenoic belonged to a particular culture of Elves who, aside from their powerful sorcery, were the well-known creators of a swordsmanship style known as Blade Dancing. Blade Dancing involves an offensively-defensive style, consisting of wide sweeps, spins and dance-like choreography; Cenoic is highly skilled at this. Among other things, Cenoic is also a capable athlete and acrobat.
History
The Nerami Ceren.
Cenoic is a man who has transcended power and mortality. A champion who underwent many quests and at some point lost his way in the world. He is now a ruler, controlling an estate that is an unending and chaotic abyss that lies neither in Hell, Heaven or the land of mortals. It is a place of paradox and purgatory, but far deeper and more lasting.
In his native tongue, this plane is known as the Nerami Ceren, and is a broken place that lies on the edge of existence; in the swirling and chaotic fires of wild magic. It is a broken world whose inhabitants are either there on Cenoic's personal invitation, or those who create paradox by not having completed what they were created to do. It is, in sense, a forgotten waste factory created to set right those things neither Gods, Demons or the servants of Death are able, or willing to do.
Long term effects of the Nerami Ceren are madness and the inability to ever find order or schedule. The atmosphere itself will easily corrupt those who are too weak in willpower to fight against it.
Regular inhabitants to the Nerami Ceren include beings from all walks of reality: Lesser Gods, Demons, Souls, Spirits, Reapers, Death Dealers and Extradimensional Entities.
So begins...
Cenoic "Things seem to have kicked off during my absence. Where is Kenna?" He asked; placing the bandaged arm on the table as he normally did. "And the book."
Cenoic "Your bag." He said calmly, leaning over the table to see if she had it with her. "You keep the book in your bag." He was getting even more intrigued by now, if Cinder didn't remember, as she seemed not to, and she did indeed still have it, then his job would be a whole lot easier. He would find Kenna himself, that couldn't be too difficult.
Cenoic "Then let's go up to your room and search for this book." He heaved himself up and made his way around the table to where Cinder sat. "It is dreadfully important I find it, and I would like you to help me."
Cenoic "You are my younger sister, are you not? Is that not the pact we agreed upon when you forced that sphere of sorcery into my head?" He shook his head in dissapointment. "I am family, and although I am not going to use that as an excuse to enter your room I believe it gives me a better reason to than you make out. Now lead the way, Cinder. Your room is the best place to search for this book, since I do not yet know it's exact location."
Cenoic nodded and walked ahead of Cinder as she requested. He made his way to the stairs, and with steady breathing coming from under the bundle of cloak and scarf wrapped figure, he made his way up the stairs; not caring for his safety at that time.
Cenoic stepped into this room, not caring for what it looked like as he immediately moved to the nearest piece of bedroom furniture and began dismantling it in order to ensure he thoroughly searched Cinders humble abode. He wasn't one for games, and now that they were alone he wouldn't allow dominance to slip through his fingers.
Cenoic was quite neat in his dismantling. He didn't throw everything into a big pile on the floor, he took the liberty of laying them out neatly on the floor so Cinder could atleast find her things easily afterwords. It served as an advantage to him, also, so he didn't mind. After going through everything he could go through, he frowned and stepped back. "Then you must have it on your person or you have hidden it elsewhere." He said, without turning to face her.
Cenoic "Perhaps, but since the very day she told me to get this book, I saw you with it, I do not have my doubts. It matters not, I will get this book out of personal interest." He turned to face her and shook his head. "It's supposed to be an interesting read, which makes it have some use even if properties of the book were explained deceitfully." He took a few steps back and sat down on the womans bed; his head lowered and his eyes closed. "Hmmm... Looks like I may have to destroy a few people. Pity, I thought Kenna was a beautiful and intriguing woman."
Cenoic "So you admit to it. Tell me where it is." He said quite casually; both of his hands crossing down to his hips and dissapearing underneath his dark cloak. "I want that book, you can have it back after I have finished with it..." A child like statement, but one that was probably true. If he saw nothing of interest he would simply give it back, or drop it in a gutter for someone to find.
Cenoic "Pity, I still don't believe you." He said quite calmly, his hands rummaging inside his cloak. "I want the truth, everything you know about it and where it might be." He was asking very demanding things from that moment on, and he expected violence if he didn't get the answers he wanted.
Cenoic "I have seen you reading that book constantly, so do not expect me to believe you don't know anything about the contents." He would prize information out of this woman one way or another. The only thing he wouldn't do was kill her, but, as long as she survived, he would do it.
Cenoic "I don't care what format I see the book in. Photocopy it for all I care, as long as I get the pages I will leave you alive." Threats were quite useful, in some situations. This was one of them, especially since he had the power to back it up.
Cenoic sighed and stood up. "A waste, to be sure." He said as he took from his cloak a small bottle of clear liquid. He took the top off, flicking it into the room before taking the whole contents into his mouth. When he reached the door, he turned and sprayed out the clear alcohol out into the room. Then, he lit a match, and as he walked away he flicked the flaming match stick into the room - setting it alight.
Cenoic had used that as the final test. If the book was in there, he was sure Cinder would have rushed back to rescue it. Obviously not, so he casually followed her down into the main room.
Cenoic took a step down onto the bar floor and immediately made his way to the table nearest the fire. He sat down immediately and lay his head down on the table. He was exhausted, and began wheezing heavy intakes of breath in order to keep concious.
Cenoic kept wheezing, but didn't move. Thick blood crept out from under the loosely wrapped bandages on his right arm... It ran down to his finger tips and began to slowly drop, each second sending another plop to the floor below him.
Cenoic pushed open the door with his right, bandaged arm and made his way towards the counter without taking a single second to look around. A trail of blood followed him, because the empty sleeve that flapped from his left shoulder had no arm in it.
Cenoic could have easily regenerated his left arm, which raised the question 'why didn't he?'. He placed his palm down hard against a table and used it to support himself as he slid down into a seat. He stared directly down at the table surface; bangs of hair falling over his face. He coughed and wheezed to get his breath back.
