Chris Redmond

For every beginning, there is an end. For every Alpha, there is an Omega. I am the Omega.

0 · 210 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Mr Ious

Description

An Omega, grim reapers that weeds out the weak from nature, a force of natural selection... gone mad.

In his true, Omega form, he's basically an abstractly humanoid creature made out of a dark, gaseous substance.

Image
yeah... pretty much that...

When he materializes, he's around 5'3" tall, not that tall for a man, and seems to lack a lot of muscle. His face is rather childish and somewhat innocent, but he would gladly tear you apart from limb to limb with that innocent smile on his face, given the chance. His hair is a bit messy and untidy. His complexion is a bit tanned. He prefers the combination of lightly colored shirts, often bright red or orange, and the standard blue denim jeans, which contradicts his supposedly dark nature. When needed for combat, he is capable of attacking with the same dark mist that forms his body, even shaping the traditional cloak and scythe of a grim reaper when he feels like it.

Personality

An evil psycho whose objective is to wipe out every life form from the multiverse. He was once your usual Omega, going to work every 9 in the morning, trying to devise new selection processes. But the strain and responsibility of his job seems to be too much for him, and after centuries of killing thousands of innocent species, he finally cracked. You would to if you're in his position. Imagine, all those years and finally, the two species that survived nearly everything he threw at them, are humans (the idiots) and cockroaches (dood...).

Equipment

His own body, literally.

He can split a part of the gaseous substance that forms his body and reshape it into a weapon, or an armor, or both.

He is also capable of using magic-like techniques, or at least what seems like magic. It's hard to tell whether he's just using his body or is he really using magic.

He loves to surprise people by materializing in the shadows, or popping up behind them, simply because he thinks it's cool, and cool things are good.

History

He cracked after thousands of years of killing out weaker creatures so that the best may thrive.
After he cracked, he escaped to the multiverse and became a psychopath that kills for fun.

His only wish is to wipe out every single life form in the multiverse, and will gladly ally with anyone that can remotely advance his plans.

So begins...

A thin, black mist seeped through the doors of the bar. Thin enough not to draw much attention, but those looking closely would notice anyway. The black gaseous substance flowed across the room, to the darker parts of the bar, obscured by shadow. There, the gas accumulated and formed a humanoid shape, before a young man stepped out, creating the illusion that he appeared from the shadows. He loved these tricks, and thought it was cool. His clothing looks nothing like what one would expect for someone who appeared out of the dark though, a brightly colored shirt and a pair of blue denim, combined with a slightly tanned complexion that resulted in a funky combination, but perhaps the most striking of all was his bright red hair. With an innocent smile on his face, he made his way to the bar counter, taking a seat on a stool. "Barman, thick black coffee." he demanded.

Chris Redmond took the coffee from the... cat person? He couldn't care less. Those alpha are creating more and more strange creatures every day, including silly anthromorphically shaped animals. No, he didn't have any interest in the furry fandom. Like it or not though, the cat seemed to be the bartender. From what he had learned from observation, bartenders tend to have a lot of info, so he decided to ask.

"Kitty-boy, do you know anything about an organization named 'Orsa' or something around here?" he asked at Norrington with a not so polite, cold, flat tone.

Chris Redmond gulped down his hot coffee as Norrington speaks. The heat of the black liquid didn't seem to affect him. "Gone quite?" he said as he put the empty cup back on the counter. "Ah well, too bad. I've... heard... that their actions were... relevant to my interests." he sighed and shook his head a bit. "Not even a wee bit of information for your dear customer, hmm?"

Chris Redmond sighed again, smiling sarcastically. "I see... Perhaps they are just... not as competent as I thought before." he said, chuckling at the end of the sentence. He then noticed that Whisper was trying to grab Norrington's attention. "That lady approaching, is that your girlfriend?" he said in a sarcastic manner.

Chris Redmond turned his attention towards Whisper. The short, white haired girl seemed to be commenting on his manners, which he might or might not have left behind at home. "So, shorty, you suggesting that I should be... polite? Perhaps I should try that."

He then took a deep breath, before deciding to ask Whisper about the whereabouts of the Orsa, politely. "Hello, milady. Do you perhaps by any chance have any information about an organization known as Orsa that you wouldn't mind to share to a lowly patron like me?" he said at the short girl, which is ironically only about 4 inches shorter than he is.

Chris Redmond lowered his head a bit as he continued to act polite before introducing himself. "My name is Chris. Chris Redmond." He then proceeded to answer the question, "What interests do I have with them? My, it's simple. I believe that their rumored goal could help me advance my plans, and so I would like to do some... volunteer work, for the Orsa." he said, still keeping his polite tone, although he really hated doing it.

Chris Redmond hadn't checked any info on any of the Orsa's adversaries, and could only take a wild guess that the Patronus is indeed an opposition to the Orsa. "In that case..." he sighed, "I guess I'll have to... pacify you. Perhaps then the Orsa might notice me." he said, playing a risky gambit as well.

Chris Redmond was trying hard to keep himself sound humble and polite, but his ego didn't seem to be capable of lasting much longer. He needed to fish out the info quickly before he ran out of patience. "Lay a hand on you?" he said with an innocent smile, "But, do I have to do that to... pacify you? I'll let you guess later." he chuckled, while trying to repress the thoughts of ripping the girl into pieces. Perhaps it would be hard, but doable. "Okay, I'll just pretend that you're from Orsa, because that would make everything much simpler" he said, finally losing the coating of politeness, but not an angry voice, yet.

Chris Redmond glared at Whisper. "At least look at me when you're talking to me, god-fucking-dammit!" he yelled at her, "You told me to be polite, but you didn't even look at me as we speak! Do you think it's polite?! You know what, fuck you! Even if you were with the Orsa I would rip you apart from limb to limb. Now that you're with the Patronus I only have more the reasons to do so!" As he spoke, the black mist emanated from his body, slowly accumulating around the girl.

Chris Redmond dissolved into black mist and quickly flew behind Whisper, following her towards the side alley. She's his only clue to the Orsa right now, and he wouldn't let her go easily.

Chris Redmond dispersed into thin air as soon as he caught up with her, and reappearing behind Whisper. "Boo." he suddenly said, before black tendrils made out of the same substance sprouted out of his body, trying to grab the woman within his dark embrace.

On a side note, being an alien species, his mind works very differently than most other creatures around, and would make mindreading much harder.

Chris Redmond was again dispersed into the air by the force of the push, before re materializing himself, but this time only as an abstractly shaped humanoid. He had no time to reshape the details of his human form every time he was hit, so he'd go with the quick solution. Once again, he tried to strike Whisper by extending tendrils from his body, but this time he used them as whips, flailing them from a distance, while one of them would try to grab her.

Chris Redmond 's attacks were unable to pierce the energy shield around his target. His solution? Since the shield didn't seem to do any harm to him, he simply enveloped the whole shield in his black cloud, blocking any light from entering. The darkness could cause panic, something that would really help him. As he did that, he slowly applied more and more pressure at the sphere, trying to crack it open with brute force because, although he seemed like he was using magic, his kind couldn't use any magic, and only used magic-like tricks.

Chris Redmond kept increasing the pressure on Whisper's shield, as he had pretty much no idea about what she was doing inside. Perhaps it was a bit, or even very foolish of him not to keep an eye on his opponent, but he rarely needed to do that in his previous fights, mostly because he was almost invincible to any physical attacks due to his body made out of gas, but a good zap of energy or magic based attack could easily harm him, which he didn't know because he had never fought anyone with energy or magic based attacks.

Chris Redmond kept pressurizing Whisper's shield before suddenly she sent out a pulse of psychic energy meant to overwhelm him with too much emotional turmoil as it seems. Too bad his alien mind worked in such a different way that the information forced into his mind was nothing than a loud static noise for him, disrupting his concentration for a bit, sure, but no where as near as crippling. Still, he didn't like it.

As his mind was filled with loud static, Whisper's shield formed psychic spikes and expanded outwards with great force, shredding his gaseous body into fragments of thin, dark mist. The thing is, he wasn't finished applying pressure, as the mist quickly stormed back towards Whisper with great speed as a result from the accumulated increase in pressure as soon as her shield was lifted. The part of his substance that touched the head of her spear was frozen, but what about the majority that didn't?

The thing is, he wasn't finished applying pressure, as the mist quickly stormed back towards Whisper with great speed as a result from the accumulated increase in pressure as soon as her shield was lifted. As she lunged towards Chris with startling speed, the dissipated substance from the tendrils followed right behind, still trying to crush her. She did caught him off guard though, and managed to slash through him, freezing what looks like his torso in the process.

Chris Redmond isn't one who likes to get hit twice, and thus he quickly moved away from his position. His torso was still frozen, rendering his main body unable to dissipate. The only thing left for him to do was to shield himself from the incoming blast of ice shrapnel. He quickly melded both of his forearms into a wide, flat shield, and solidified them, stopping the shrapnel from hitting his body. His makeshift shield got frozen though, but he managed to split them back into two, making them two large blades of ice.

The substance from his tendrils was frozen solid as it passed through the ice barrage, but carried on the momentum of the strike, turning them into large flying spikes of ice. They no longer home in on Whisper though, so they most likely will miss as she had moved from her initial position.

With his newly formed ice blades, Chris lunged towards Whisper, attempting to give her a taste of her own attacks. Perhaps foolish, seeing as most people in the multiverse are able to counter their own powers, but he was a newcomer to the multiverse and didn't know that yet.

One of the ice blades on Chris' arms grew too heavy for him to handle, anchoring him down in one place, while the other gashed down Whisper's arm. It then came to him that he could just break the ice from the inside by forcefully expanding his gaseous substance, and so he did, freeing himself from the bondage of Whisper's ice.

The fight had taken a long time. Way too long than what he had expected. He then reformed himself into a solid physical being, dressed like a grim reaper with the cliche black cloak and scythe, not because the form provided any advantages, but because he thought it looked cool. As a solid being, his movement speed increased somewhat, and so does his striking power, but he becomes vulnerable to physical strikes.

The transformation sequence took less than a second, as he isn't one who likes to show off flashy transformations. He proceeded to make use of his increased speed in solid form to close Whisper's newly gained distance, readying another strike.

Chris wasn't so nice as to give Whisper time to jump to any buildings. No, he immediately slashed the pillar with his scythe, trying to make her fall back down to the ground. There's really not much else to say on the matter...

Chris looked up and sighed. He was tired with the fight as well anyway, and it didn't look like he was going to win any time soon. As his logic finally got the better of him, he spoke "Well miss, perhaps I am rash and reckless, and perhaps I do lack variety. But rest assured, because I am quite good at... escaping any tight spots." He then transformed back into his normal human form. "And now I guess my earlier assumption that you are with the Orsa was correct... right?"
