Description

Image
Cianna Miller
Six years old
Drawing by Arluar, colouring by Curtsive :)

Facts:

Cianna is a foster care child, though she keeps running away.
Cianna has a vivid over-active imagination. She has an imaginary friend called Bill Nix Mocker III and believes on her life that he is real.
Bill Nix Mocker is an Alsation/Husky type cross with thick black fur and is a big. He has giant white wings coming out of his back.
At the moment, only Cianna can see him.

Cianna is as stubborn as a mule, thinks she is always right and has serious spunk and attitude problems. She likes to believe and tell everyone that she's not afraid of anything, but she does have fears deep down that she refuses to voice or acknowledge. At siz she knows how to be manipulative and can put on the 'good girl act' or the 'demon child' whenever she needs to get what she wants.

Some people believe that she's insane due to her traumatic start in life.

So begins...

"Nix and I don't starve. We sneak things from the market. The kids at the home showed me how to do it before we ran away. I was really good at it. I took some apples from this old lady and then I took some money from a man. Then this one time, I met a mean man that was funny and he had this stick. I took that from him." She smirked. "It was funny, until a lady came along and took it off me."

Cianna then looked at the man's hand in his pocket. "We need a lot of money." She pointed out bluntly.

Cianna rolled her eyes. Growing up in the home the last year had taught her a lot and one of those things was not to be scared. If you were scared you became a target. For a six year old she was afraid of nothing in her eyes. She'd seen bad things and nothing scared her now. "You can't scare me. Nothing is bigger or scarier than Nix. He's the baddest and the biggest. And he protects me."

"Wow... Nix, look. A whole hundred." She grinned waving it front of Nix.
"I can do what I want and I want to wave it in front of you. People won't come take it from us." Cianna rolled her eyes. "You're getting as bad as that guy that gave us money." She told her friend before looking at Viktor without so much as a thank you. The timid, polite girl that she'd been was gone and replaced with this one in front of him.

Cianna wasn't interested now that she had money. "Nix says bye mister Viktor. He'll look after me. I don't need to be careful." She added, trying to make sure the money was real that was in her hands. It looked and felt real. It must be real, she determined. She'd asked him for money, maybe that's all she had to do, was ask others for money and they'd give her it. After all she was very cute, if she said so herself.

Cianna Miller was once again getting up to no good. No good at all. And of course, she was blaming it all on Nix, her 'imaginary' friend that was a massive black dog with giant white wings protruding from his back. Basically a god form of Pegasus. Cianna was laughing and giggling, running away from the Wing City Market place with her hands full of goodies. "We did it, Nix! We did it!" She shouted in delight to the thin air next to her as she continued to run.

She was too busy laughing and running that she didn't notice the woman on the bench as she stopped a few feet away, sitting on the bottom step to a house nearby, Cianna dumped her goods on the ground in front. "Look what we got from that stall, Nix. And they didn't even see us." She pointed to a few things before pointing elsewhere. "And look, that old man didn't even notice us taking that thing." She grinned.

For a six-year-old girl that looked adorable to most, with her big chocolate eyes and her brown locks, she was a lot of trouble.

Cianna frowned as someone spoke and she looked around until her eyes fell on the woman not far from her. The little girl rolled her eyes as if that was the most stupidest question someone could ask. "I know they didn't see me." She said confidently. "Nix and I got taught how to do this." She didn't care that she was admitting to stealing. "The other kids taught me how to do it and I'm real good at it. I've never been caught." She grinned confidently. She then turned to the empty space next to her.

"Never been caught, have we, Nix?" She asked.

For a moment she paused as if she was listening to something. "You're too cautious. We have to play it this way. It's fun. And they never catch us. You'd eat them if they got too close anyway. You always protect me." She grinned, confident in everything once more.

The girl, though she had been broken and her naivety dashed in some ways since her parents were killed and she'd entered the foster care system, she was still naive in other ways. One of those ways was believing whole-heartedly that Nix was real, depending on him to save her in any bad situation she may find herself in, and been over-confident in herself.

Nix was in fact, a creation of Cianna's mind. Just over a year ago her parents had been killed in a car accident. She'd been left with the babysitter so that her parents could attend a work function. They never returned and with no living relatives, Cianna was put into care. The whole experience had been traumatic on the naive and sheltered girl. She'd lost her parents and being dumped into a place full of strangers where the kids weren't great there either. It was there she learned to harden, and with that she'd created Nix to for fill the loneliness she'd felt.

But there was a twist. Somewhere deep down in Cianna's mind, it had come to create Nix as something through a telekenetic like magical bond. So when Cianna wanted protection of some sort, she protected herself, and thought it was Nix protecting her. Cianna had no idea, she just assumed it was Nix.

"My names Cianna, but my mom and dad always called me Ci." She told the woman. "And this is Nix, my friend." She indicated to the air next to her. When she looked there, she saw Nix though, not air.

Her concentration soon moved back to the things she'd gotten, spoons, fruit, some coins, some vegetables. Nothing of significance except for a couple of bits of jewelery, though they didn't look like expensive pieces.

Cianna looked confused for a moment when Izzy told her it was nice to meet her, and Nix. That was strange. No one ever noticed Nix and when she talked about him they all laughed at her and normally called her insane. It was one of the many reasons she'd run away with Nix. She frowned though when Izzy mentioned selling the bracelet. Everyone she'd met so far had tried to catch her if they thought she'd stolen something, as this wasn't the first time she'd sat down with a pile of things and had someone approach her.

"You want to buy it? How much for, Izzy?" She asked as a grin now lit up her face. "Ya hear that, Nix. She's gunna give us money for our pretty bracelet. Then we can get more food for when we camp under all the pretty stars tonight. Won't that be fun? Maybe we can build a bonfire!" She laughed at her own thoughts as her imagination easily got carried away with her.

Cianna looked at Izzy and then at the bracelet. "Whatcha think, Nix?" She asked.

A pause.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." She sighed and looked back at Izzy. "Nix says that a tent is bigger than a bracelet and that he don't get why'd you want to trade a tent for a little bracelet. Plus, I like sleeping under the stars with nothing stopping me looking at the stars." She told her. "But then Nix said that it could rain and we'd get all wet if we had no tent, so I guess I can swap it for a tent and 10 bucks."

She listened to what Nix was saying for a minute before nodding and looking back at Izzy. "We hope it don't rain. I love camping. Did you know that angels play with stars. They do, you know." Cianna grinned. "My mom and dad are playing up there with the angels and the stars. That's why Nix and I watch them playing of a night time."

Cianna showed no emotion as she spoke of her parents, well, no sadness. She had a smile on her lips just at the thought of watching the stars and 'watching' her parents play with the angels and the stars, convinced that she saw them each night.

Cianna took the money that was offered and looked at Izzy, a little unsure whether to follow or not. "Whatcha think Nix? Think it's a trick to get us back to the home?"

"Nah, you're right. I've not seen her before, either." She nodded. "Think it'll be fun to follow. Then we can see the tent." Cianna gathered her things in her arms and stood up, ready to follow Izzy home. "I was a whole four years old. Well, nearly five. Now I'm six though. I turned six last week. And you better not be tricking us. If you think you're trying to get us back to that stupid home then I'll have Nix eat ya. We're not going back there ever again this time." Cianna's tone had gone from light, to cold and serious. A tone that only an adult should know how to use, not a six year old girl.

Cianna felt something of a twinge in her senses, but wasn't sure what caused it and dismissed it just as quickly, though she did glance at Nix questioningly. She didn't really speak all the way to the house, but once her and Nix were inside, the girl had smiled and was running around exploring the place. "This is like my mom and dad's place." Cianna spoke, grinning finally as she entered the 'junk room' starting to ferret around the boxes as if it was her business. "Why'd you have boxes in this room? Did ya just move here and not finish unpacking? All my stuff is in boxes. Once my mom and dad are finished playing with the angels then we'll get another house to play in. Ain't that right, Nix."

Cianna sighed, obviously the dog disagreed because Cianna said: "You're wrong, Nix. They'll be coming back one day. Just you wait. Then you'll have to say sorry." Cianna stated as she moved over to where Izzy was with the tent. "Can you build it for us so that we don't have to build it later. Nix and I aren't tent builders."

Cianna lived in a mixture of fantasy and reality. She was tough to dealing with the outside world, sleeping rough, stealing, and things like that, but she still lived in her own little world inside her head with Nix, and the image of her parents playing with the stars and the angels.

Cianna was opening the books pretending to read them as Izzy spoke about the tent. "We'll go set the tent up in a minute. I want to finish looking in your boxes." She spoke as she moved onto the next box, a book still in her hand. "Wow... look at this flower. It looks so real. It's a real pretty rose. I have a necklace I can trade it for, if ya want." Cianna grinned.

Cianna dropped the book and dug about with her free hand. "Hey, Nix, remember last week and that necklace I found---" She paused before interrupting Nix. "I did find it, silly. Anyway, where is it?" She dug around in her pockets for a bit before finally picking out a little worn necklace. "See, here it is." She grinned.

It was a golden locket of some sort. Cianna watched curiously, all her focus on Izzy as she moved to the rose and made it change colour. Her eyes went wide for a minute before she grinned. "Do that again. Change it to blue. I love blue." She grinned.

"Did you see what she did, Nix? Did you? What else can you do, Izzy?" Cianna grinned, waiting to see what else Izzy could do with her magic. "Did you know that Nix is magic? He says he isn't, but he is. Because he saves me all the time. Like when I got into a fight with this fire man in that bar the other week. Nix saved me from getting all burned up like a pizza that's been in the oven too long." Cianna laughed.

"I liked the first blue. That's the blue I want." Cianna grinned. "It's so pretty." She was mesmorised by the rose and it's colour until Izzy started talking about magic. She was acting more like how a normal six year old should act - all happy and playful.

"Nix can do the magic. Show her something, Nix." Cianna waited for something to happen and frowned. "Come on, Nix. Just a little something." It seemed that Nix didn't want to cooperate and that was annoying Cianna more and more.

"I said do it, Nix." Cianna growled as it looked like a heated argument between the pair was about to break out - or was breaking out on Cianna's side. Her face was getting redder and redder with her anger.

"I SAID DO SOMETHING NIX" She screamed, and that's when it happened. All of her anger she had channeled at Nix had simply made him fly up, only to thump against the ceiling. The light would be swinging and an audible bump would have been heard. "There, now do something magic, Nix." She grinned before looking around. Stay there and move that table, okay?"

A moment later, the table moved a few centimeters leaving Cianna grinning. "See. I said he was magic." But all along it had been Cianna causing it all, not Nix.

Cianna shrugged, trying to think back to when she first noticed the tricks. "I dunno. I guess Nix has known them forever. He came to me when my mom and dad went to play with the angels though. I asked them to take me with them but they said that children go when they're older. So I'm waiting for my mom and dad to get me now I'm older, or maybe they'll come back and ten take me at a different time. Like a holiday." Cianna explained.

"Stop grumbling, Nix. I'm sure your bang didn't hurt that much." Cianna rolled her eyes. "Let me check then." She moved over to Nix and frowned, appearing to be examining the air. "It's just a tiny bruise. You'll be fine. Nothing can hurt you. You kill anything that tries to hurt you." She grinned.

She then turned back to Izzy. "Ready to set up our tent then?"

"I know bruises hurt." Cianna told her. "The kids at the home used to give me bruises all the time. That's why I ran away. They called me stupid and insane because they pretended they couldn't see Nix and that I was making him up."

"We're gunna set it up at the woods. I love the woods. I like listening to the birds and there is this place in the woods where you can lie down and stare right up at the stars cause no trees are in the way. It's perfect. We always stay there, even on cold nights." She grinned, leading Izzy to where she was talking about.

It was only a 30 minute walk, but Cianna took her time getting there, talking to Nix most of the time about different things, and memories, and checking to see how bruised he was with his collision with the ceiling. Finally though, they got there.

It was a small grassy clearing in the middle of a wooded area just off Wing City. Cianna was happy with it. It was big enough for a tent and a small fire, but nothing else really. But there was a log at the edge that could be used as a bench.

"Here we go. Welcome to mine and Nix's home, Izzy." Cianna grinned. "Isn't it perfect?"

Cianna Miller giggled at the empty space next to her. "Remember the last time we were in here, Nix?" There was silence for a minute before she looked around the bar. The last time they were here, they tried to steal a man's wallet. That same man had given her 10 dollars. He wasn't here now though.

"I know, Nix. I know. I promise this time I'll be more careful though." She grinned. No one could see what she was talking to. It was just thin air next to her as far as everyone else was conccerned.

Running down main street she had done it again. Giggling she turned to the thin air next to her. "Look Nix, we stole it all again. They can't get us now. They never even saw'd us." She smirked, looking at the collectables in her arms. It was great.

"Stop worrying, Nix." She giggled, trying to catch her breath before sitting on a step once she'd come to a stop and piling the things she'd stolen from the market on the floor. There was numerous foods there, some jewelery and someone's wallet. "We did real good this time, Nix." She smirked.

Cianna looked up as she heard a Cianna before rolling her eyes and turning to the air next to her. "I'm not scared of them, Nix." She told him, pulling out the money from inside the wallet and putting it into her pocket. "He don't scare me. Nothing scares me. You can eat him if he tries anything, 'Kay?" She told her imaginary friend, Nix.

She just continued to sit there, examining the jewelery now without a care in the world that an officer was not far away, watching them. She didn't even take a moment to glance and see what he was up to.
