Claire Angelique-McGregor shaking her head, it was all strange and foreign to her. All this had been kept from her sight for how long now? Long enough that she had little idea what was going on. There were days when she was possibly convinced that there were those attempting to undermine her authority as Minister of Defense, and it wouldn't surprise her either. Sighing as she took a seat, she listened to Helena and Daniel Graystone discuss scientific methods that even she really couldn't understand without the information directly in front of her. It was meetings like this that made her out to be stupid, inferior and unfit for her position at current.

Claire Angelique-McGregor couldn't help but start slightly, Michael had always had a bad habit of sneaking about in the worst possible way. But Claire also didn't have any sort of a sensory net thrown out around her, she didn't feel as if her personal safety was in violation enough to warrant use of certain talents and abilities. "Given half a chance these bloody goons will try to do something while we're here." She muttered mostly to herself. Watching Helena's knife drive deep into the wood of the table, she grimaced, for now she was content on allowing them to think she'd gone soft within the confines of the office. "Go ahead Chairman." She agreed, though what good a biologically superior race would do was beyond her comprehension at the moment. "OISTs will be useful I agree, just pick your squads carefully."

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded a weary greeting towards Ayako, she listened to the woman before speaking. "Take it up with Helena.. she's organizing all of this, I'm just.. approving." She answered. Claire had no real ability to much if anything now from her position except keep things balanced. It greatly frustrated her to be so out of the loop, to have so much of a unknown factor. How could she do her job without prior knowledge of these things?

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded. "I have." She confirmed plainly as she listened to the quarter plot and plan whatever it was they were planning to do. Still uncertain, she wasn't sure what she was doing there though. Helena seemed to be handling things just fine without her help. Frowning for a moment, she listened to Graystone speak of a new weapon he had considered a contract for, "If it turns out like Aiyanna, Doctor, or like what happened to Chasm City all those years ago..." She said shaking her head. Faith was not a thing that she put in a mad scientist and a weapon, especially someone like Director Miyagi of the Taiyou or their own Dr. Graystone. Scientists had always made her a bit, nervous.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shuddered at Graystone's description. "Please Doctor, don't remind me. I'm well aware of what nanites you lot are capable of producing can do." She grumbled as she reached into her pockets. Fumbling around, she pulled out a cigarette case and lighter. Reaching inside the case, she withdrew a long slender cylinder, lit it and raised it to her lips. She didn't care what the others thought, it had already been a long week. "Then get a damn treaty in order. Damn it Helena, you should be thinking of how not to get us screwed in the ass galaticaly." She said acidly. Tired of being assured, and tired of taking a back seat something had to give. As she exhaled a plume of pale smoke, she considered her options.

Claire Angelique-McGregor noted the look on Helena's face but said nothing as she tapped the ash off the end of the cigarette. Sure, it was a nasty hold over habit from long ago, but due to current technology wasn't as bad as it could be. "Carrot first, then do whatever you like. Because let's put it this way, we can't say we didn't warn them." She said. Looking over at Ayako, she nodded in agreement "Yes, that is the basic plan. I know that Her Highness is quite particular about transit of goods and the investment made."

Claire Angelique-McGregor allowed her hand to rest on the slightly warm metal of the door handle to the bar. Still warm from the day and many hands wandering across it's surface, she wondered how many days and weeks she had wasted coming to this place. It didn't matter anymore, she supposed as she pushed the door inwards and stepped into the dim smokey environ. "Hagan.." She muttered recognizing the TechCon head. There were also others she didn't recognize, making it painfully obvious that too much time was spent within her office in the Capital.

Claire Angelique-McGregor scowled at Hagan and his address to her. "That's Minister Angelique to you Hagan." She remarked as she walked towards him. There were few other familiar people within the bar, and thankfully this was one time Raphael would not make an appearance. Glancing over towards Cashmere, she couldn't say that she knew the woman. One thing she did know was that the suit she wore had scanners trained on her, which was quickly remedied. A sudden spike would register on the monitors causing the equipment to go temporarily haywire, only a minor loss of information would occur, Claire's. "Your greedy I'll give you that, but you don't easily part with your money. Whats the reason?" She questioned as she eased her tall form down onto a bar stool next to Hagan. For the most part, she was unassuming, and didn't exactly appear the part of anything but a politician. Simple and plain, nothing overtly extraordinary about her. Sighing, she shook her head as her protests did little good, in fact it seemed almost to be preemptive measures on his part. "Call me something other than a.. sexualized name for a woman and you'll not end up dead."

Easing slightly closer to Haganshe smirked. "So have I Miles." She remarked as she let things hopefully sink in for a moment. She had become tired, bored and had little else to do than terrorize the poor owner of TechCon. "I wouldn't want to kill you simply because it'd be messy." She remarked plainly. Claire would have easily admitted that she was having a hard time controlling her own levels and keeping things moderately under wraps, it had grown more and more difficult as time passed to do so. "There is no threshold on a bank account anyway." She added as she ordered a drink and pulled out a slim silver colored compact from her jacket.

Claire Angelique-McGregor glanced over her shoulder at Drakus. She knew better than to get into a fight, at least one she couldn't back out of or wasn't confident she couldn't win. Shaking her head she returned to her drink and Hagan with his conversations of Greystone Industries.

"Miles... Hagan is a greedy self serving son of a bitch. One is never enough." Claire grumbled to herself as she pulled out a cigarette. Lighting the object in question, she continued to listen to the various snipets of conversation. "Machines are more expendable, soldiers are more precise." She stated bluntly as she allowed a wisp of smoke to waft across Hagan's face. The two usually spent a evening in a bar sizing one another up, unsure how to react to the other other than by intimidation games.

Claire Angelique-McGregor looked at Hagan for a moment considering his question. "I'm not Lagaran born and bred, besides you've bought into the media's ideals, as usual." She said thoughtfully as she tapped the ash off her cigarette. "I'll do what I need to do, these are not things you need concern yourself with."

Claire Angelique-McGregor glared at Hagan again, something hard glinting deep within the depths of her eyes. "Don't fuck with me Miles. Dr Miyagi is under contract and tenyear of the Empress." She stated bluntly. He was stupid, greedy and couldn't see things right in front of his face. Jamming the butt of her cigarette down hard into the ash tray, she considered things for a moment. "You own the media, right." She remarked producing a card. "Please feel free to give these people a call, they'd be happy to work with you, on your terms." She added setting it on the table in front of Cashmere. The emblem was simple enough, a sliver stylized angel and Canasian script on a black ground.

"Cost generally isn't a problem." She said slowly. It never sank it with Hagan what exactly the Angelique family owned. Taking Cashmere's card she deposited somewhere within the inner pockets of her jacket. "Good work is worth good pay. Sadly I no longer do anything with technology or ships, stuck in this damn political rat race." Claire mentioned off handedly. She couldn't help it if Hagan was a fool, or if he was conniving bastard. "Miyagi is a interesting case, I'm not sure if he's all there."

Nodding, she had gotten more than used to the strange bits of travel people in the galaxy did now. "Director." She stated with a slight nod. "It's good to hear that all is well on your front." Claire remarked with a slight nod as she went back to her drink. This had become a veritable meeting of some of the heavy weights of the realm, herself not included.

Claire Angelique-McGregor nearly choked on her drink with Seno's next words. 'So that's what happened to Yuriko.' He had been pestering her for the better part of the last year to allow him to do some trials on her, but she'd staunchly refused. Unable to trust him, she now had a even better reason not to.

"Your going to kill your wife Miyagi. My DNA would cause her great harm." Claire remarked cooly. Her's was incompatible with a number of things, including some Aschen tech. With the Ancient and Gulgan members back on the tree, it was still largely unknown what the true extent of her abilities were. "Do you want your dear Yuriko waking you every night to tell you of a dream so horrible it has burned itself into her mind at every level?" Claire questioned. She was completely and totally serious about what she had said. There were some things she managed to keep in check, others that she just could not. "If your willing to kill her, to sacrifice her for the greater good of science, inquire with the LDA."

Claire Angelique-McGregor shook her head. "You disgust me Seno Miyagi." Was all she said. Claire didn't wish to associate with such a man. "What you have done could be considered a form of abuse, at the very least in my book. But what are human rights to you people? Nothing." She shrugged as she set her glass down with a hard "thunk" onto the table top. Pausing for a moment, she acquired a distant look before coming back to the present. "It will fail Miyagi. I know."

Claire Angelique-McGregor couldn't help it any longer, this man was worse than Miles Hagan. Stepping away from the bar, she approached him slowly and carefully. "My Mother has never been as far as your galaxy. You also should choose your next words carefully Miyagi." Claire remarked. He was drunk, he was unruly, this was not the man she'd known as the Taiyou Science Director. Standing face to face with Seno, she was easily perhaps as tall as he and had extensive training to back up the intimidation. "I dare you to utter that insult again." She stated trying for the most part to remain composed, but nearby glassware told otherwise with it's evident cracking and explosive shattering.

Claire Angelique-McGregor had decided to let the last argument go unfinished between her and Miyagi. Though in all honesty, he had insulted by telling her what he had used family DNA for. It seemed though that he didn't understand, or quite comprehend anything other than his own goals and desires. If he gained access to a strand of her DNA to implant into Yuriko it would surely kill the poor woman. Sighing, she swirled her drink around in it's glass tumbler listening to the ice clink against the sides. "Speak of the devil.." She muttered noticing the Taiyou man as he entered the bar.

Claire Angelique-McGregor frowned, had he not remembered his actions from the previous night? "I've been better." She remarked blithely. Seno had caused her to return home with a headache and a night lacking sleep. Such seemed to be the consequences of the use or rather abuse of power in the previous night. The more she used it the more in struggled to get out. Looking around and mostly attempting to avoid Seno, as she was still nursing something of a headache, Claire noticed Durrani and continued to frown. He had been rather hard to get a read on in previous months, and therefore left Claire wary.

Claire Angelique-McGregor just shook her head as she took the last swigs of whiskey from the glass. Looking over her shoulder again for a moment, once again it would be a meeting of heavy hitters. Miygai, Matsui and Durrani, all well known in their own circles and equally out of. "What's she doing here?" She questioned jerking a thumb back towards Yuriko. Claire knew it was Seno's own fault that his wife was like she was, he really didn't even seem to care for the girl and that was what really irritated her. In many ways after the previous night's revelations she wasn't even sure she could retain professional contact with Seno Miyagi. "Steps yes, nothing more, nothing less." She answered in reply to his question as she set her glass down onto the counter with a soft, hollow thunk.

"You of all people should know, considering the insults you flung at me and my family last night." She answered. There was only so much she could tolerate day to day, month to month and week to week; and when it came to family there was none. As a outcast even in her own supposed society, Claire had few to rely on and was beginning to question her alliances within Taiyou society. "You and your burning desire to augment with DNA, it's disgusting." She spat in distaste. "I'm glad your little project was helpful, and I'm certainly glad that Aschen society could lend you something of my family's to help it along." Claire added sarcastically.

Claire Angelique-McGregor sighing she just shook her head again. "There comes a time... when moral and ethical questions don't mean much and I suppose this is one of them." She said slowly and thoughtfully. As much as she would have liked, there was no real way to stop Seno from killing his own wife in the quest of scientific advancement. Listening to his question, and considering his answer carefully, she knew Durrani was eavesdropping. "It's incompatible because my Mother wasn't human in all aspects." She finally said tasting the words in her mouth as they came out. They seemed acrid, despondent and angry. She considered all her inheritance a curse, and only desired for normalcy.

Claire Angelique-McGregor was really starting to question her sanity in coming to this bar night after night. But in many ways it was cheap entertainment, and meant that she didn't have to field various microphones or cameras shoved into her face. It also meant she didn't have to show up in a suit, instead tonight she was dressed in a black cowl neck tank, jeans and a white motorbike style jacket. Casual and simple enough. Pushing the bar door open, she was greeted with the usual smells, sights and sounds. It wasn't hard not to notice Yuriko and Seno, considering that they were now familiar faces, but it unfortunately reminded her of the last discussion they had. Not terribly so much with Yuriko but about her with Seno. About his terrible quest to further augment the woman's fairly formidable pisonic abilities.
