History

Born in Chasm City, Yellowstone to Joseph and Madeline Angelique; Claire and her sister Marlene were brought up as the daughters of an elite family. Her father owned one of the most prosperous companies in the system (Baqui Heavy Industries) and her mother was a historian of well known fame and repute. Always busy, and always traveling throughout the local systems, and even further at times; Joseph and Madeline tried their best to make time for the sisters.
Later, the Epsilon system was violently absorbed into the Aschen Empire, and has remained as an outlying territorial colony since then. However, with this came access and opportunities while different weren't that much different from those offered on Yellowstone. Madeline and Joseph soon went their separate ways, divorcing, and Madeline gaining sole custody of the siblings. Eventually she remarried to the at the time McGregor patriarch, Darian McGregor. Moving the pair to Langara to live with her new husband, things went well until he became violent towards Claire and her sister, Marlene.

Time eventually found the pair on similar yet different paths, Claire as an officer in the Aschen High Space command, and Marlene in the Aschen Confederation's Intelligence sector. Eventually, the powers that be in the Aschen military and intelligence sector took notice. With her high gravity home world, and the suspected Alteran genes, she was exploited by the military complex.

It didn't take long for the nation to find disingenuous uses for the young woman in their service. Capitalizing on her outsider or minority status as an Amerikano, the military soon had their sights on turning her into a walking weapon. The abuse suffered at the hands of the Aschen military has left Claire with little love for the now Empire. She has always been one of the most vocal and harshest critics of their xenophobic and paranoid nature.

However though, Claire's history is difficult, complicated and at best murky.
Having attempted to make the best of a bad situation left over from a brain injury suffered during an altercation while visiting on Langara; she returned home to Yellowstone and Chasm City to heal and take over operations of her father's company Baqui.
Unfortunately though, a bad situation seemed to have turned from bad to worse and on a routine business trip she disappeared. While no remains or debris have been found, it's been largely assumed that she may have perished on sight seeing excursion off planet to Sky's Edge with potential clients.

The fate of Baqui is largely unknown though it is rumored that someone close to Claire has taken over it's operation for the time being until assets can be liquidated and an estate settled.

Skills and Talents

Martial Arts Training (Lok'nel, Sodan): Most militaries like any other train their personnel in self defense. Claire has taken this to another level, preferring to train not only the body but the mind as well.

Abnormal Musculoskeletal Makeup: Growing up in a high gravity world, her system adapted to be able withstand the stress of higher gravitational forces.

Alteran Abilities: This is both a widely encompassing and limiting term. The abilities which she possesses are considered to be exceptionally powerful and when pressed Claire has proven to have a mastery over almost all of these with the exception of perhaps precognition. Much of the time she enforces on herself a low energy level, which will not cause any sort of equipment designed to measure energy or psionics to peg. If the self imposed bonds are lifted, an immense amount of energy will be released. While there is control over the release of this energy, it is physically demanding and draining within a corporeal form.

Claire Angelique-McGregor just sighed and shook her head. Of course they wouldn't give her any instruction other than what they had, that meant she had to do her own digging. "Bloody hell.." She grumbled thinking just how difficult this might be. It might mean removing any and all safeties, something she was on the fence about. According to Morgan, she shouldn't have need for them, but in Claire's opinion she had need of them. "Another fine mess courtesy the Ori." She mumbled as she looked over at Seno. "What's with you?" Claire asked noting the for once, dumbfounded look on his face.

Claire Angelique-McGregor smiled just slightly, Seno just did not understand. As she finished what remained in her glass, she figured that most wouldn't exactly suspect her; after all such things were not supposed to exist. "I'm sure." She mumbled giving a slight nod to Durrani as he left, leaving her the only one left of the trio. That was just fine with her too.

Claire Angelique-McGregor picked up the file that lay on her desk. Not the best way to begin a morning, suddenly being informed of duties that she had little idea of. "This is what I get for taking over Chaska's job." She muttered looking through the file for a moment. "Hold all appointments and calls today. I'll be too busy." Claire told her assistant. Something like this would come on a day when she was busiest. With the Aschen beginning to pull out the Military from Terra, she had her hands more than full. Picking her coat up that she had just set down, she headed out again. "Damned Chaska... still too many loose and messy ends." She grumbled as she stepped out of the building. Most things were located fairly directly within the governmental complex that housed the AHSC Headquarters, the Defense Agency and other offices; today's event was little different.

Claire Angelique-McGregor gave something of an inward groan. This meant having to deal with Miles Hagan, no wonder Chaska avoided something like this. For now, she remained quiet with little to say yet. Undoubtedly the room would grow noisier as the day went on. Something like Raphael McGregor could not be easily over looked and simply shoved out the door with a unanimous answer.

Claire Angelique-McGregor was still silent as she listened to Nazmat. "What are the terms of this request?" Claire spoke into the silence of the chamber. Speaking with a rather unusual accent, though her english was impeccable. "McGregor has already been taken care of, he can no longer hold a position within the military, so what does it matter to you Americans?" She thought the Attorney General was reaching a bit far. Raphael could be taken care of within their own society. "Also, there are documents to prove his mental instabilities, or have you not been granted access to these?" Claire was tired of dealing with the Americans. With them it was always something, and they seemed like a rather infantile society in many ways.

Claire Angelique-McGregor listened as Hagan spoke. He had hit the nail on the head, voicing many of their concerns out in the open. But, for now she remained mostly silent. This was possibly going to end quickly, without the majority of them stuck in the chamber for the rest of the day.

Claire Angelique-McGregor knew what Miles Hagan had said held a great deal of truth within Aschen society now. "You are antagonizing a neutral party in a war Councilor, and I suggest you cut this here and now." She spoke slowly. There was little else she could do and frankly was just happy that Raphael was out of her hair and no longer her problem. "If you have no further reason for this other than to beg for a new trial, then maybe you should leave." The American's had not stopped with the calls, the letters and all method of communication trying to get them to allow a new trial. Far as she was concerned it wasn't happening.

Claire Angelique-McGregor looked at Hagan for a moment before clearing her throat. "The bounty expired Hagan, months ago. Let the American's deal with him." She remarked. She did not want to see this go to voting, it would mean infinitely more headaches for her. But soon enough her time as the Minister of Defense would be over, she was only serving the remainder of Chaska's term after all. "I do not condone opening closed and sealed court documents unless the matter is of utmost importance, and I do not myself feel that what regards McGregor is worth my headache." She added shifting slightly in her seat. Claire was learning bits and pieces of the politics in Aschen government, but in all matters she wasn't a expert. "If McGregor were to face.. trial on your world you would most certainly stick him with the death penalty, as I recall your world still uses corporal punishment of a sort, be it not specifically the death penalty."

"If you are not certain of what will happen to him, then I for one say that we not reopen this case. Tempting offer or not Councilor, we have to be certain as to what happens to a citizen such as Raphael McGregor." She replied. Claire didn't pull much weight within the Quorum, and Miles Hagan pulled more than any other member. "Drakus is a very tempting offer, one I refuse to bite on." She added.

Claire Angelique-McGregor laughed quietly as she walked in having heard Marlene. "I'll agree, your so much better at it than I am." She remarked teasing the agent only slightly. Whenever possible, Claire escaped from the trappings of the Minister of Defense; she may have been good at her job, but that didn't mean it didn't get old after awhile. The two looked a fair amount alike, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a thin athletic build though it stopped there. "Still a glorified cop I see." Claire remarked as she walked past Marlene and took a seat at the bar. This evening she had opted for more casual attire, black motor cycle boots and jacket with a pair of jeans and tshirt.

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded to Durrani and returned his greeting, "Good Evening." She spoke with an accent that was clearly not Aschen. Frowning at Marlene, she considered a response for a moment. "Your still a glorified cop. LDA or not." Claire finally said with a slight nod. "Besides your not very good at being a spy, I mean who the hell gets their cover blown and family involved?" She questioned shaking her head. "I guess." Claire remarked with a slight shrug. If she were there to drink the she supposed she might be able to get away with smoking as well, and pulled out a slim silver cigarette case and lighter.

Claire Angelique-McGregor simply sighed as she lit her cigarette. Why did everything turn to business? "This isn't the time to discuss business." She mumbled mostly to herself. Taking a drag on the cigarette, Claire then exhaled a cloud of smoke. Days like today made sure she never really enjoyed her job. "Agent Angel, I would avoid saying anything about that if I were you." She finally said. Loose lips sunk proverbial ships and Marlene's were very loose once alcohol was involved.

Claire Angelique-McGregor scowled at Marlene for a moment. "Does it look like I have time?" She questioned dryly. All that had kept her occupied lately was the war, tactics and placements, not to mention reports back. Everything had to be gone through, looking for some useful bit of information. "Marlene... you were lucky enough to be married. I was not so why don't you drop this little subject?" Claire added tersely. She did not enjoy constantly being prodded about personal relationships.

Claire Angelique-McGregor rolled her eyes at Marlene's remarks. "I see where Raphael gets his tendency to screw every bloody living thing." She grumbled under her breath. "Why do you think I can help you? I spend most of my time in a office try to make sure your arse doesn't end up as intergalatic cannon fodder." Claire stated bluntly as she put her cigarette and downed the rest of her drink before leaving. "Do me a favor Marlene, stay the hell out of trouble." She said as she left the bar.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shrugged as she flipped through a sheaf of papers in her hand, her dark plum colored manicure contrasting sharply against the white of the paper. "It's routine, so shut up and put up." She stated bluntly. Claire hadn't had to undergo any evaluations in years, and it was probably a good thing that she hadn't; she would more than likely fail them. "Claire Angelique, Minister of Defense." She stated in crisp, unusually accented English, taking Elaraby's hand as she tucked the papers under her arm. Grasping his hand firmly, there was much more strength in the grip than what appeared at first glance. Having chosen a black silk and wool blend suit, with a pale blue blouse, she had at least tried to seem professional despite her dislike or rather inability to understand how to dress outside of a uniform. This was always belied in how Claire carried herself in a suit, seeming rather uncomfortable in her clothing. This in of itself was due to years in uniform, finding that much easier to deal with than some of the trappings of her current position.

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded in reply to Marlene's remark. "Well yes, things you Americans might think the norm are perfectly permissible by the Aschen Government and it's society." She said as she took a seat. This would prove interesting, she'd never been privy exactly to a evaluation such as this.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shifted in her seat for a moment looking through her notes before answering. "Yes, clearance is allowed. If the information leaves this office you will be silenced." She said. Marlene was making things difficult for the man, and in a way she didn't blame her. Evaluations always took time that could be used for other tasks and appointments. "Agent Angel I suggest you cooperate with him now."

Claire Angelique-McGregor shook her head in response to Marlene's question. "You know that most Aschen Physicians aren't versed in the psychological fields, also please put your phone away Ms. Angel. This is not the time to be sending messages back and forth with Lt. Agathon." Claire reminded. Marlene could complain all she wanted, but Claire was only there to remind both parties of their responsibilities and what was or wasn't allowed on their parts. She didn't need to be psychic to gather what exactly Marlene was doing, but it did help when figuring out whom she was messaging.

Claire Angelique-McGregor just shook her head and continued to leaf through her paperwork, mostly listening to the conversation. Occasionally she would intervene and say something, but right at that moment she had no need. But she did have to agree, that Darian McGregor had been a hard man to impress; even recently within the past ten years it had been so. When their mother, Madeline Angelique had divorced their father Joseph, and remarried to Darian, it had been a blow to the whole family on both ends. Never had there been such discord and attempts to save face in public.

Claire Angelique-McGregor folded her papers up neatly and rose from her seat behind the desk. "Mr. Elaraby, you have stepped out of bounds. If you had read the dosier for Agent Angel you would know that some things are not to be spoken of in our culture, that was one of them." She said slowly. Her own expression was dark and almost disapproving in a way. Marlene had not had the recent battles with Darian that Claire'd had, but she had suffered greatly at his hands as a girl.

Claire Angelique-McGregor tucked the papers and their folder underneath her left arm before speaking again. "I understand what is routine, and what is normal by American standpoints, but this is one thing that is not in our culture." She spoke as she started out of the office. "Consider the evaluation over." Claire added bluntly as she went off to find Marlene. This shouldn't have been addressed, ever. Finding Marlene's pins on the floor, she stooped to pick them up. Marlene wasn't far off either, in fact she was off in the hall a ways standing next to a rather nice sized hole in the wall. "Do you know how many of these I've made in the past thirty some odd years?" Claire remarked examining the hole for a moment before turning to Marlene.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shook her head at Marlene's actions. "If you weren't family I would have your bleeding head for having alcohol when on duty." She grumbled as she handed Marlene her pins back. Thankfully when she'd taken the position as AHSC Chair and later Defense Minister Mollem hadn't asked many questions, except was she capable and how soon could she start. "I've already informed him that he cannot bring that bastard son of a bitch back up." Claire had not stooped so far that day to her native Canasian or any of the other languages she'd had to learn as a child on Langara. "You tell me, besides I won't always be here as Defense Minister to make sure people are even the remotest sympathetic." She said answering Marlene's question.

Claire Angelique-McGregor looked side long at the man's notes mostly out of curiosity. 'Arabic.. distant relative of Canasian.. might or might not translate well.' She thought to herself. But why the man was so intent on keeping these notes from his patient was the real question. Eventually his findings would have to be turned over to the government as a whole, and if there were any questions there would be a request to see his notes. It was things like this that made Claire leery of doctors, and she had perhaps one of the most extensive medical records of any Aschen citizen. But, they had been sealed and placed at a very high clearance, few could see them. Unfortunately though if one knew how to work the system and search for other things they could find out what they needed to know.

Claire Angelique-McGregor frowned at Elaraby. "There's higher classifications." She muttered to herself. The American's had strange and novel ideas of how to encrypt things. 'Its close to Canasian, I know enough to probably fake my way through his notes." Claire thought as she listened to the man give his explanation. "It's also relative to the person Mr. Elaraby. If they were trying hard enough or really wanted that information they'd find a way to decode it." She remarked blithely. The man was starting to irritate her in a way, and she wasn't sure about Marlene. But like she had said, they needed to shut up and put up with this little hiccup in their routines.

Claire Angelique-McGregor returned Elaraby's gaze, her's equally strange and unreadable. There was something unusual about how she looked at people, piercing, cold, and calculating. Almost as if she saw through them."It would be prefered Mr. Elaraby." Claire remarked shifting in her seat. She wasn't nearly as nervous as Marlene, she'd after all gone through her own share of evaluations on the LDA's end; but those were different. Then there was the occasional evaluation on a even higher level, but that was something she didn't talk about.
