History

Born in Chasm City, Yellowstone to Joseph and Madeline Angelique; Claire and her sister Marlene were brought up as the daughters of an elite family. Her father owned one of the most prosperous companies in the system (Baqui Heavy Industries) and her mother was a historian of well known fame and repute. Always busy, and always traveling throughout the local systems, and even further at times; Joseph and Madeline tried their best to make time for the sisters.
Later, the Epsilon system was violently absorbed into the Aschen Empire, and has remained as an outlying territorial colony since then. However, with this came access and opportunities while different weren't that much different from those offered on Yellowstone. Madeline and Joseph soon went their separate ways, divorcing, and Madeline gaining sole custody of the siblings. Eventually she remarried to the at the time McGregor patriarch, Darian McGregor. Moving the pair to Langara to live with her new husband, things went well until he became violent towards Claire and her sister, Marlene.

Time eventually found the pair on similar yet different paths, Claire as an officer in the Aschen High Space command, and Marlene in the Aschen Confederation's Intelligence sector. Eventually, the powers that be in the Aschen military and intelligence sector took notice. With her high gravity home world, and the suspected Alteran genes, she was exploited by the military complex.

It didn't take long for the nation to find disingenuous uses for the young woman in their service. Capitalizing on her outsider or minority status as an Amerikano, the military soon had their sights on turning her into a walking weapon. The abuse suffered at the hands of the Aschen military has left Claire with little love for the now Empire. She has always been one of the most vocal and harshest critics of their xenophobic and paranoid nature.

However though, Claire's history is difficult, complicated and at best murky.
Having attempted to make the best of a bad situation left over from a brain injury suffered during an altercation while visiting on Langara; she returned home to Yellowstone and Chasm City to heal and take over operations of her father's company Baqui.
Unfortunately though, a bad situation seemed to have turned from bad to worse and on a routine business trip she disappeared. While no remains or debris have been found, it's been largely assumed that she may have perished on sight seeing excursion off planet to Sky's Edge with potential clients.

The fate of Baqui is largely unknown though it is rumored that someone close to Claire has taken over it's operation for the time being until assets can be liquidated and an estate settled.

Skills and Talents

Martial Arts Training (Lok'nel, Sodan): Most militaries like any other train their personnel in self defense. Claire has taken this to another level, preferring to train not only the body but the mind as well.

Abnormal Musculoskeletal Makeup: Growing up in a high gravity world, her system adapted to be able withstand the stress of higher gravitational forces.

Alteran Abilities: This is both a widely encompassing and limiting term. The abilities which she possesses are considered to be exceptionally powerful and when pressed Claire has proven to have a mastery over almost all of these with the exception of perhaps precognition. Much of the time she enforces on herself a low energy level, which will not cause any sort of equipment designed to measure energy or psionics to peg. If the self imposed bonds are lifted, an immense amount of energy will be released. While there is control over the release of this energy, it is physically demanding and draining within a corporeal form.

Claire Angelique-McGregor's Story

Claire Angelique-McGregor was beginning to wonder why Marlene was trying to cue off her and sent her a look as if to say, 'Why're you looking to me? I can't get you out of this.'. She'd made a few notes of her own about the proceedings of the evaluation and they were mostly in elegant Canasian script. Her handwriting within the Main or English language wasn't the best, and at times unreadable. There were days when it was wondered how she'd gotten to where she was currently.

Claire Angelique-McGregor frowned at Elaraby and Marlene. "Agent Angel, if you continue to drink there will be a formal reprimand on my part and the LDA's." She remarked motioning for Marlene to relinquish the flask of Ambrosia. Claire really tried not to pull rank too often, but now seemed to be a case where it was needed. "If you need a drink, that is other than alcohol Doctor Elaraby offered to get you one." She added glaring at Marlene. Her look said it all, 'If you fuck this up, I won't help you.'.

Claire Angelique-McGregor continued to glare at Marlene. "Agent Angel, please hand over your phone and your flask, if you do no I will make you. We will also have a very long talk with George and Paul about insubordination when we return." She replied flatly. Marlene never did take orders well, and she tried to find every way around them possible. Claire would have hated to pull any sort of trump card on her sister, and it seemed that most of Marlene's behavior was all an act around Elaraby. "Doctor Elaraby, Agent Angel despite being a married woman, swings. Which is to say that she is more interested in a uncommitted relationship." She answered before Marlene had a chance. That was one thing in which the two differed, Claire would have preferred a committed lasting relationship, where as Marlene wanted anything without strings.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shook her head as she took up the phone and flask. The phone was quickly turned off with its battery and other accessories removed and pocketed by Claire. The flask on the other hand was left on the table. "Commitment is a death sentence to you, but continue please Doctor." She remarked falling silent once more. She did not want to sabotage the evaluation.

Claire Angelique-McGregor continued to shake her head and uttered something under her breath about promiscuous behavior in Canasian. Marlene was doing poorly on the evaluation, or at least that was Claire's opinion. In a way she wondered if this was all an act on Marlene's part still. "Anti-aging is a monetary waste." She muttered to herself. She'd only undergone one treatment, and after that one single 'reset' things seemed halted. But, Claire still thought that the exorbitant sum had been a waste. Looking at her bracelet to check the time, she noted that Elaraby's phone beeped and raised a eyebrow at the doctor. "Do you need to answer that?"

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded at Elaraby's response. That was usually how things worked for her. She had a tendency to turn her phone off and 'disappear'. It annoyed her office staff immensely, but it allowed her a moment or two to catch her breath and think. Most of the questions that he had asked Marlene seemed fairly routine, and fairly normal. There were a few bumpy patches, but it seemed that Marlene was less than willing to divulge.

Claire Angelique-McGregor watched Marlene answer the question put forth by Elaraby. "Your son is insane. He will not be returning to the front anytime soon." She muttered under her breath. Claire did not see Raphael fit to return to duty, simply because he had proven unstable and in all likelihood could very well go AWOL again. That was something she couldn't risk again. It had already taken months to try to smooth the international and intergalactic relations with the Americans while remaining as neutral as possible. Claire was beginning to suspect what Marlene's promotion might be, LDA was rather bad about not telling her much and she could probably blame George and Paul for that.

Claire Angelique-McGregor continued to watch Marlene make a fool of herself in this evaluation. She undoubtedly would fail, and therefore not receive the promotion she so desired. This was one situation that she could not get out of by offering a sexual favor, in fact the analyst seemed rather impartial; and Claire wasn't sure if that was good or bad yet.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shot Marlene a warning glance, she needed to shape up and behave. Unsure of where this information came from, she said little. Claire was not Kobollian, but Agnostic and had been raised in a very secular society on Yellowstone. Marlene was striking more nerves with Claire than the doctor was striking with Marlene. "It was a simple question of how the beliefs work in the society, do not be rude Agent Angel."

Claire Angelique-McGregor returned Elaraby's gaze for the second time that day. He seemed all too curious in things he shouldn't have been. "Is there something I can help you with Doctor?" She questioned tersely. Claire had never been the most patient of people and this evaluation was straining and lengthy. Elaraby seemed to be very interested in the two of them, and for perhaps his own reasons.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shrugged, she'd not gotten her answer but would at least tollerate being left as a neutral party once again, hopefully. "I'd like to know the answer to that as well frankly." She finally said agreeing slightly with Elaraby's statement. Marlene had always been a bit of a social ladder climber, but to immediately dive for a promotion the moment it was offered seemed... strange. 'If she's up for the promotion I think she is.. god save us.' Claire thought to herself as she waited for Marlene's answer.

Claire Angelique-McGregor mostly ignored her sister's self appreciating opinion of the matter. "How lucky for you." She remarked dryly. Claire wasn't sure how good of a idea this was, and suspected that George and Paul thought she would just sign off on anything they wanted. She was also thinking of just how Marlene might have gotten the position. Unfortunate for Marlene and maybe fortunate for Claire, she had the final say. It was starting to look like a number of people felt that they could try to go over her head when instating personale.

Claire Angelique-McGregor tried to ignore Marlene's attempt at insubordination again. It was difficult, considering she was now having to tollerate someone professionally that she couldn't really even get along with personally. "I'm sure he will if you pass your evaluation." She replied refusing to argue with Marlene. It was useless to do so.

Claire Angelique-McGregor had gotten tired of the infighting and bickering amongst family, colleagues and friends. Retreating to the bar was one way to cope with this. Things had steadily grown worse between Marlene and Mollem, and it was a regular occurrence for either one of them to come complaining to her. "What am I a babysitter?" She muttered as she took a seat. Ordering herself a drink, she began to settled in for a quiet evening. Claire didn't want to try to sort out what had happened recently, especially trying to cope with the reappearance of her mother. That in of itself had turned her world upside down.

Claire Angelique-McGregor looked sidelong at Mollem for a moment before answering, "What's it look like genius?" She remarked as she picked up her glass. Ice clinking gently in the amber liquid inside of it's container. "Do what you want, but I'll advise you, the Angelique's are a bit.. difficult to kill. Besides, divorce would be easier." Claire added bluntly and proceeded to ignore Mollem for the moment. He was one person she really did not like to deal with, period. Despite having known him since she was young, it was still a difficult almost hated relationship between the two.

Claire Angelique-McGregor opened the door to the bar, and was promptly greeted with familiar smells of smoke, beer and liquor. Taking a seat at the bar, she made her order quick. "Whiskey please." She said bluntly. Claire'd spent many a hour in the bar, retreating from people in her offices, or just simply stuck there with no other reason other than a drink or two. "Funny seeing you here." She remarked to Kendra as she took her drink from the bar. The phrase was trite and old, but all her frazzled mind could think of. Her days had been spent arguing with other members the military, or other governments over what to do with things as they were now.

Claire Angelique-McGregor shook her head at this news, "It doesn't surprise me the way she goes about 'negotiations' towards things she wants." She remarked as she slowly sipped at her drink. "What surprises me is that Mollem had someone lined up so.. fast." Claire muttered wondering just what he had in mind. Raphael had to have learned his strange habits from one parent or another. "But that's just the gossip of the day. What exactly lead up to this investigation?"

Claire Angelique-McGregor shrugged as she caught the glass Kendra slid towards her. "I hate to say this but… the Taiyou complain of anything that isn't up to their standards." She replied looking at the contents of the glass for a moment. Carrying on two conversations at once with the same person was a bit difficult, it required keeping two distinct trains of thought. This was something that Claire wasn't always accustomed to. "Marlene needs to learn not to play with fire, she's always thought that she was bullet proof in a way."

Claire Angelique-McGregor thought for a moment about what Kendra had to say. "I didn't hear that. Seems there will be a new vacancy for head of the spook department. Marlene wasn't cut out for LDA in a way, she's nosey but not very patient." What she had said wasn't anything that wasn't already known within each of their respective circles. Marlene had gotten in over her head for the last time with no one to bail her out. "Helena Cain.. is a interesting character. I will leave it at that."

Claire Angelique-McGregor nodded in agreement. "He is. I know it, he's almost exactly like his father." she said taking another sip from her glass. 'Exactly like Darian with the exception you can reason with him...' Claire thought ruefully. Marlene or Mollem was most likely going to come to her trying to pull her either way, and unfortunately she might just have to side with Mollem if she wanted to keep her job. Personally she didn't find it wise to mix personal with politics, especially the sort on Langara. "Marlene seemed to think that trouble was the way to get attention, or she just never received very good training on the part of the LDA. I don't know."

Claire Angelique-McGregor was silent for a moment as she weighted her options for dealing with Marlene. "That's quite smart, and I'm not going to do anything about Marlene. I'm a neutral party in this whole mess, they're both adults they can solve the problem." She said slowly. The next few weeks were going to be either very interesting or very difficult. Claire suspected the latter and would more than likely need to find a way for neither party to reach her.

Claire Angelique-McGregor looked at Shaw for a moment before answering. "I can't exactly do that." she said slowly as she set her glass back onto the bar. "I'm already in over my head with that lot, way before I got into the government." Claire added. It didn't help that her parents had divorced, with her mother remarrying into the McGregor family, and Darian deciding it was a good idea to adopt her. She supposed it was something of an aid, not many people were likely to admit a child to a private school with a name distinctly un-aschen. "Helena's book is something I don't want pages out of, it's full of some hot headed stuff that is only there because of prior poor planning." Claire grumbled. Cain was one of the more conservative Admirals in the the fleet, and she still used some rather unorthodox methods.

Shaw didn't exactly understand what Claire's situation was with the McGregor family, after all it was rather hard to describe. Finishing her drink and paying, she too stood from her seat and left the bar.

Claire Angelique-McGregor was wrapping up business on the base before she left to return to Langara, she'd just finished a conference with Commander Shaw before catching her flight back. This time it wasn't a few tired words exchanged between two contemporaries in a dim, noisy bar, but more so as members of a team. Walking out across the tarmac, she spied a limousine pulling. "As much as I want to stay out of this..." She muttered tersely as told her secretary to send word to hold her flight. "Mollem, I didn't know you were still here." Claire Angelique-McGregor frowned at Mollem's nonchalance. "Your just like your father you know that?" She remarked blandly as she followed Mollem. He was avoiding answering her questions, as usual. "Excuse me? But Marlene doesn't confide these things to me." She pointed out bluntly. "As for Caprica, it can function without me for a few days. I had business here on the base. What brings you here, other than.. Elise?" Claire asked slipping her hands into the pockets of her skirt. Normally she opted for a pant suit, but there were times when a classic ladies suit seemed more appropriate. "I'm sorry where are my manners? It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Elise." She finally said turning to extend a hand to the other woman.
