It was slightly after mid day when Sherazad landed in the middle of a field where a bunch of cows were feeding.
Hello Lunch! thought she grinning at the livestock while drawing the Deagle and cocking it.

She wasn't one for killing animals but hunger is hunger and she sure as hell couldn't go to town and buy some food. She was in the future since only a couple of days. And in those days, between giant snakes and semi authistic androids she didn't have much time to get in touch with her body, which was now demanding nutrition.

She aimed at a random cows head and shot its head off at point blank, while trying to avoid the blood splatters. This caused quite a commotion between the fellow cows who nervously scattered away from the carcass of their companion, a carcass that was now quickly cut thru with an army knife, looking for that good part right under the spine. She had no idea how she knew that, no memory of where she learned that but thankfully somehow the knowledge was still there.

maybe I used to work on a farm or something, or maybe I was an assassin, or a butcher...then again how would I have had made these boots I'm wearing...did I make them? they sure feel familiar but.. lost in her thoughts she kept cutting peacefully untill she was done.

The fresh chunk of bloody red meat was ready to be coocked, all she needed is a fire. It was then that she considered that maybe it would have been a good idea to start a fire before having the chunk of meat in hands. Sheras threw the meat back at the cow, she needed some wood first. but where would she get some?

He had been well burning in the sun for the last couple of hours, sort of asleep in that hovering disc supporting his round shape. It was a small ranch house that was sort of repurposed into a tourism site. Travelers would come here as a retreat from the busy bustling life of the city and find the serenity of the countryside. It was awfully boring. Corvo did not believe he had signed up for a full week of this.

He had been trying to read a book, the supposed past time of the cultured fellow but he couldn’t get into it. Just line after line of purple prose and cliché after cliché. Why did he ever picked this up? So he was stuck here for the whole week (The transport to take them into the capital would not arrive until next Sunday) with little to do but dull through the days.

And then the gunshot happened. He awoke thinking it was for a moment just some sort of waking nightmare. Wh-What? The mobility hovering systems shifted about aimlessly for a moment. Damn it! He had his fingers on the console! He let got and the hovering disc chair stopped. What was going on!? He looked around. None of the staff running this house was present. Probably taking the rest of his group through the tour of the countryside. He took a moment to SLAP a bug that bit his neck. They were eating him alive out here. Horse flies. The scourge of his existence these last couple of days.

His attention returned to some cattle fielding off very far from the ranch. He was nervous. He looked about looking for something and found a bloc of wood on the floor. He honestly had to reach at it with an effort as fingers grazed it utterly embarrassed and grateful no one was present. Finally picking it as his makeshift club, the foreigner placed his hand on the console again and he began to move forward the systems making a small engine noise as he moved off the ground.

Slowly he came upon the scene. Woman with a gun with her hands now completely covered in blood. Oh god! Some of its brain was pouring out! Corvo felt sick as he placed his hand to his thin lips. “You are not SERIOUSLY considering eating that!?” he demanded. Yes. A strange bloody woman with a gun was present and Corvo first concern was hygiene and food safety.

Sheras had missed the ranch house during her arrival, that was probably due to the fact that she loved to fly low and dodge objects while listening to drum n bass mixes, no idea why she liked it but there she was enjoying it like crazy.

As she scratched the side of her head she forgot about the blood, it was indeed a messy scene to see. Luckily no one's around, I'll have to wash myself aswell later, can't go to town like this...probably...who knows what goes in these times. I don't know who knows but I know who doesn't know... thought she before yelling MEE!! goddamit amnesia!!.

Shortly after she realized there's no wood around there she heard a voice inquiring about food. She turned around to see what seemed to be a paraplegic of the future. oh, I see McDonalds didn't die out...what a surprise the man was floating on a disk which was pretty cool. The man was holding a piece of wood...as a weapon? woo, hello there, I was planning to cook it first, but I need a fire for that...who...are you? I hope these are not your cows, you can keep the rest I'm only passing by.

Just in case she drew her Deagle out again and hid it behind her back to avoid showing hostility, yet she cocked it should this man reveal himself some kind of android/magical demigod freak or something, you never know.

Corvo was utterly baffled by the scene he was seeing. Also as a side note he was NEVER going to try real beef after this. He didn’t care how supposedly it tasted better than the cloned beef grown in a lab. This. This was just extremely gross and disgusting and downright barbaric! It was probably just standing there till the end minding its own business and them BAM! Bullet to the brain.

Somehow the man wearing the very breathable looking suit looked very uncomfortable at the moment. Seated in his disc shaped chair as it remained stationary.

“Y-You can’t just expect to put that on a fire and cook it and NOT get sick!! This isn’t the damn stone ages!” He half protest and half plead. This is why we have government regulated slaughter houses! Some flies were already buzzing around the cut open animal probably laying disgusting little fly eggs as they spoke.

She seemed to offer the rest as some sort of peace offering. He turned greener. “No thank you.” He expressed politely. No. He was good. That was all you. Who was he? “I’m… staying at the ranch house a half a kilometer away.” Corvo expressed believing she was some sort of eccentric local and knew what he was talking about. “Corvo Lex… at your service.” He expressed. His words and demeanor were squeamish and soft spoken.

The mans speech was indeed correct as far as Sheras knew...but then again she also knew that she was in the future, a future where people apperently forgot the good ol fashion animal hunting, althou this was no fair hunt, not for the cow, but she didn't care anymore that was for sure.

She smiled at the man she found naive for his commentary, it was incredibly ironic the fact the she was about to talk an older man into the good ol' days. She was technically, god knows how many years older.

hahaha, you future people have different ways of living, when I come from it is perfectly normal to do this despite we also had slaughterhouses. In fact I did the same thing a slaughter..man would, this meat won't rot for at least the next 5 hours, and as long as you keep it moved flies won't deposit anything on it. Now I need the fire thou otherwise I'll have to kill another one, you say you have a house near here, My name is Sherazad, nice to meet you Corvo, huh nice name, there was a videogame about a Corvo guy"

she was thinking of dishonored, oh god knew what video games they had today, provided she'd live long enough.

Her belly grunted in protest pretty loudly reminding her of the issue at hand. Do you have coocking equipement there and if so, mind if I use it? In exchange I'll make the best stake you'll ever taste said she winking playfully at Corvo.

“I think I just decided to become a vegetarian.’ The large flabby man in the floating chair expressed with a vacant look on his face. Just. Gross. He couldn’t honestly believe this was how people eat and handled their food centuries ago.

“It’s nice to meet you Sherazad.” Hey! Almost like the famous storyteller! A soft smile came to his face as if remembering that before he registered what she requested. Cooking facilities? Well yes, he believed they indeed had that back at the ranch house. “Yes. I see you already have the package of meat you are going to use on your person.” He noticed as she did carve it up.

Was that blade even sanitary?? Well at least it could be better cleaned up and prepared in the modern kitchen that out here in the hot outdoors. He just dropped the bloc of wood as he turned his person over back to the direction of the Ranch House. ‘It’s uh… a bit of a walk.” He expressed. Half a kilometer outward as the sun was still beating out.

Quietly he reached for the disc shaped chair and got out a canteen of water. “Uh. Would you care for something to hydrate yourself as we walk back over?” He offered it and began to move, they were surrounded by vacant fields, the quiet almost unnerving to poor Corvo.

Sheras couldn't but chuckle at the man's remark, and maybe she would be impacted by this more violently if she wasn't adrift in time without memory, still doubting this is real life. Wait till you smell the burning meat in the air, how exactly do you think stakes arrive on your dish....come to think of it, how do you people eat?

Yet another reminder that she knew nothing of these times and lands. The man was very polite but also technical in his choice of words, kitchen was now a facility? Package of meat, seemed almost autistic, way too mechanical. But who was she to judge.

ahm.. yes this is my dose of complex proteins that I intend to transform in caloric energy thru the process of difestion, you guys digest right? she replied trying to imitate the tone of her interlocutor.

She then gazed at the direction pointed by Corvo, indeed a certain distance, but he clearly didn't see her move yet. As he offered water, she gazed at him and slowly started to become airborne. no thanks, I don't think I'll have the time, how fast can your disk fly? asked she with a hint of challange and a sassy face.

Corvo could only really push his fingers together looking a little embarrassed. “This is its fastest setting.” Which was a very moderate hovering pace a few centimeters off the ground. This was a mobility assistance system not a hoverbike! Sherazard took to the air, yup even in the apparent future jet boots were just so damn fun to watch. The look on Corvo face was one of an almost childlike wonder. It was not like there were not rocket boots where he came from but they certainly had not lost their charm.

“It’s uh… not so far this way.” He expressed beginning to slowly hover in said direction. It was embarrassing, this woman could have easily make it to the ranch house if she wanted to but it would take Corvo twenty minutes of nonstop hovering just to make it back to the still very distant property. In a sense she was going to have to wait for him in his mind. He hated to do that.

is that...top speed? Buddy...why so slow? I thought this was the future said Sheras chuckling. This guy, quite the life victim...or ex hero? The guy was ugly, but curious, she would spend at least the meal with him, perhaps learning information about Volary kingdom.

But this was fricking slow. Sheras glided behind him gracefully, she then grabbed the disk in a stable manner, splattering some blood from her hands over it, she realized too late and hoped he didn't notice. I'll give you a push, hold tight! added she while alligning themselves with the destination point.

Pulse mode engage, 3-2-1 a blue-white ray of light pulsed from the heels of Sheras boots right before she accelerated up to 150 km/h in the following 3 seconds. Pushing on the disk she peeked at the side of Corvo to see how close they were, interestingly enough the disk would adapt the vertical position without her doing anything, cool. As the house got bigger she elegantly flipped her legs from lying position to front stretching position so that her heels would now point in the opposite direction acting like brakes, decelerating down to walking speed in the next 4 seconds.

Theoretically Corvo would see the boots up close along with Sheras legs till somewhat the knee level, almost touching his sides. There's always that moment where gravity starts to win over the velocity force which made it quite tricky for her to flex back without falling, yet this wasn't her first rodeo so she simply let the disk go and jumped off, switching swiftly the boots to skate mode.

woo, hope you didn't speak, I can't hear anything with all the wind in my face when I ride like that, is this the place?

With Sherazad warning, Corvo took a moment to grip the arms of his floating chair for a moment as she prepared to give them a boost. Afterwards, Corvo could see little of anything as the hairless man was propelled forward along a very flat open plain at a sudden ramping velocity. He could feel his face tighten for a moment as he gripped the arms before finally the sudden force slowed down to a halt just at the border of the tourist ranch property.

He wheezed out a big cloud of dust out of his lungs for a moment. Er those fields were particularly dry for the lack of rainfall these last couple of days. Wiping the bits of dust and dirt off his face. “Th-That was thrilling!” The older man had to confess. It was like being on a roller-coaster! Heh! He had to take a moment to register what she was asking. What? “Oh! Yes! Yes it is!” Corvo expressed in a little bit of a quibble.

He floated over to the fence door opening it up and inviting Sherazad into the yard. Who knows? Maybe the owners will be angry at him and kick him off and send him back to the city. He had honestly did not like it here and he had hoped that he would have. “Do come in.” He expressed floating across the yard still spitting out dirt and bits of field and maybe a bug or to. Gross.

There was a ramp built to make the interface of the chair run more smoothly. Even as it floated off surfaces stair were always a hassle as the computer on the disc chair needed a moment to register all the changing contours. Ramps were so much easier. The door was open, the insides were AC revealing a very quant little household environment inside, the influences were obviously Asian which might be confusing seeing that the guy in the chair despite all his ambiguous features was a big fat gringo.

It had all the modern amenities with included a regular modern day kitchen, by no means some sort of future kitchen like the young woman might imagine. “I’m vacationing.” He explained very briefly. Just a tourist really.
