Personality:
Crimson is very noble-natured. He's very courageous and is more likely to stand taller to threats than cower down. However, he does have a hot temper, becoming angry towards those that harass and bully others. He can't help but get in the way, no matter what consequence befalls upon him to do so. That being said, Crimson is rather stubborn once his mind is set. He won't stop until he physically can't go on any longer. He is considerably tactical and doesn't usually take the presented route to solving a problem, often trying to find other ways to do it. He's less direct when he fights, preferring to dodge rather than block and oncoming attack and counter. When he doesn't know anything about a certain area, he'll stay quiet and reserved unless provoked and angry. A natural sense of curiosity will allow for him to pursue anything. He is also a natural born leader.

Strengths:
Crimson is extremely innovative. Rather than see the obvious method to a problem, Crimson sees other ways to solve it and uses this knowledge in battle. For example, Crimson won't just throw Embers at an opponent, like normal Pokemon. He'll find tactical ways to use those Embers so that they do more damage to opponents and more benefit to him in the long run. As a result, he is a multi-faceted fighter and will use any advantage he has at his disposal, traditional or otherwise.

Crimson is agile and evasive. Reflecting his evasive method of attack rather than a more direct version, Crimson is able to dodge a wide variety of moves and onslaughts, even when it may seem like he can't. This is partially due to his size and build, but because this has enveloped his mentality as well, it has become a substantial method of defense...one that very few individuals have found a way through or around.

Crimson's temper and spirit makes him powerful. When he gets angry, he will be direct, but he will also get a major adrenaline boost from his anger, causing him to have more power in his abilities. He still is very tactical while enraged, but slightly less so. When he's mad, he'd rather beat you with strength and a lot of it. This acts as a very tactical switch-up and catches most foes off guard completely.

Weaknesses:
Crimson nobility can sometimes purposefully refuse the upper hand in a fight. He likes his battles to be as natural as possible, so more often than not when he encounters a group of Pokemon that don't use Tech, he won't use Tech (His Power Bat). In unnatural situation fights, Crimson will also most likely refuse to finish the foe in his belief that everyone deserves a second chance.

Crimson is weak. He started off in a world he understands vaguely is Pokemon. He didn't know how to fight or anything. He learned how he fights, but it's not based around power. As a result, his attacks are weaker than a normal Chimchar's attacks. He'll ultimately do a little less damage unless he is innovative or angry.

Crimson is very Close-Quarter-Combat oriented. The easy way to beat him is with range. While he can dodge (a lot), he can't dodge forever. His range attacks will be very weak. Crimson borderlines along the fighting strategy of a fighting type, so he wants to get up close and personal. That's where he can be the most agile and where he can do the most damage.

Special Abilities:

Crimson can change types. Although the origin of this power is still unknown, it is believed to be linked through the Elemental Stones. Touching an Elemental Stone, say, a Thunderstone, allows him to "absorb" that ability, similar to how Eeveloution works. He currently has the ability to change into the following types:

-Fire-Grass
-Water-Psychic
-Electric-Dark
-Ground-Ice

Ultimate Form

Description: Crimson is covered in cascades of light before entering this form, much like evolving. In this form, his fur is pure white. His belly is pure white. His tail (which is on fire in this form) is pure white. The only accent of color on him are his eyes, which are golden yellow. He carries an intense aura that can be felt all around him and make it rather hard to breathe. He literally glows in white light around him, casting an almost godly look.

It is not entirely known as to how Crimson activates this form although it is believed to be triggered by emotional adrenaline. It is also unclear as to how much power he has in this form as well as how many abilities, but it is rumored that he can bring a Pokemon back to life from the dead, turning humans into Pokemon, reflecting attacks, emitting powerful beams of energy at opponents, and control all forms of energy with so much as a single touch of his finger. There has been no clear limit defined for this power and much of it still remains a mystery.

Equipment- The Power Bat. The Power Bat is an invention by Dr. Eckels, the Isle Defender's scientist and inventor. The Power Bat absorbs energy it collects and stores it. When the wielder uses it, it emits that energy back in the form of the type the wielder is. For example, a Fire-Type would emit the energy back through fire. An Electric-Type would emit that energy in the form of electricity. It isn't good for blocking large projectiles, though it is for small projectiles and a variety of close quarter combat moves.

Movesets
Crimson's moveset doesn't change largely as he changes from type to type. Rather his current moveset take on that attribute. If he learns a move specific to a type, then he adopts that move in exchange for one of his moves in that moveset, but no other moveset for his other types are affected. Below are his movesets for each type.

Fire
Description: Your typical Chimchar. Orange fur, blue eyes, and a flaming rear for a tail. His natural state and his most used. Used in Phase 1,2, or 3.

Close Combat (Physical)- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Flame Wheel (Physical)- A damage dealing Fire-Type move. The user cloaks itself in fire and charges at the target. It may also leave the target with a burn.

Ember- A Fire-Type move. Ember does damage and has a 10% chance of burning the target.

Acrobatics- A Flying-Type move. Acrobatics deals damage and its power is doubled to 110 if the user has no held item. Acrobatics can hit non-adjacent opponents in Triple Battles. If the user is holding a Flying Gem, the item is consumed before this move checks whether the Pokémon has an item or not; therefore, the power is still doubled.

Fire Punch- A damage dealing Fire-Type move. The target is punched with a fiery fist. It may also leave the target with a burn.

Taunt- A Dark-Type move. Taunt makes the afflicted Pokémon unable to use status moves. The effect lasts three turns or until the subject is switched out. Unlike most status moves, Taunt will affect a target with a substitute. On the turn that Taunt is used, if the Pokémon using Taunt goes before the target and the target selected a status move that turn, the target's move will fail.

Water
Description: Blue blubbery-like skin replace his fur with a cream colored belly, dark green eyes, and a tail that is actually a fin. Speed in water is increased. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Water Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical) A Water-Type move. The user cloaks itself in a tidal wave of water and charges at the target. It may also be used to move across water at a very fast pace.

Water Gun- A special Water-Type move. Inflicts damage on the opponent.

Acrobatics- A physical Flying-Type move.

Liquidation- A physical Water-Type move. The user slams into the target using a full-force blast of water. This may also lower the target’s Defense stat.

Aqua Tail- A physical Water-Type move. Inflicts damage on an opponent.

Electric
Description: Yellow fur with electric blue eyes. The tip of his head is black while his tail is very reminiscent of Pikachu's. Crimson is faster overall in this form. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Thunder Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical). An Electric-Type move. The user cloaks itself in electricity and charges at the target. It may also leave the target paralyzed.

Thunderbolt- An Special Electric-Type move. It inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of paralyzing the target.

Thunder Punch- A Physical Electric-Type move. The target is punched with an electrified fist. This may also leave the target with paralysis.

Shock Wave- An Special Electric-Type move. Shock Wave inflicts damage and is unaffected by modifications to the accuracy stat and evasion stat. It will not hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turn of moves such as Dig, Fly, and Dive.

Ground
Description: His fur turns brown, making him look like a normal chimp in relation to animals. His eyes turn brown and his tail is round and small. His attack is increased, but his speed is lowered. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Rock Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical). The user cloaks itself in a massive boulder and charges at the target. It may also cause the target to flinch.

Earth Power- A Special Ground-Type move. The user makes the ground under the target erupt with power. This may also lower the target’s Sp. Def stat.

Stone Fists- A Physical Ground-Type move. The user forms fists on their hands from the rock in the earth and uses them to punch the target. It lowers the user's speed by one stage, but raises their critical hit rate during the attack.

Dig- A Ground-Type move. The user burrows underground, then typically attacks on the second turn. It can also be used as an escape tactic.

Psychic
Description: Sleek lavender fur cover him with a white belly and purple, focused eyes. His tail is nonexistent in this form. He has been known to levitate and many consider this his most powerful form behind his Ultimate Form. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Spirit Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical) A Psychic-Type move. The user cloaks itself in a pulsing ball of ethereal energy and charges at the target. It may also leave the target confused.

Psybeam- A Special Psychic-Type move. Psybeam does damage and has a 10% chance of confusing the target.

Psycho Cut- A Physical Psychic-Type move. The user tears at the target with blades formed by psychic power. Critical hits land more easily

Telekinesis- A Psychic-Type move. The user is able to pick up objects from a distance. Picking up a Pokemon will render it unable to use fighting or ground-type moves. Picking up objects will allow the user to turn them into projectiles, the damage of which is dependent on where they hit and how much mass they carry.

Dark
Description: A form of shadows. Black fur with a charcoal belly and a long slender tail. Crimson's eyes are light grey when he is in docile mode and vibrant red when he is in aggressive mode. Ability to sneak around in this form is increased. The form Crimson holds back on the most. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Smoke Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical) A Dark-Type move. The user cloaks itself in a dark shadow ball and charges at the target. It also leaves a trail of smoke that spreads around the target, causing their accuracy to fall.

Flatter- A Dark-Type move. Flatter raises the target's Special Attack by one stage and then confuses it. Even if the target is already confused or protected by Safeguard, its Special Attack will still be raised.

Night Slash- A Physical Dark-Type move. The user slashes the target the instant an opportunity arises. Critical hits land more easily.

Dark Pulse- A Special Dark-Type move. Dark Pulse inflicts damage and has a 20% chance of causing the target to flinch.

(Warning! Crimson in his Dark state is the only opportunity for him to turn from docile to aggressive. If his eyes are grey, then he is calm. If his eyes are bright red, then he is more aggressive. In the aggressive state, his attacks are more powerful as he doesn't hold anything back, but he loses his sense of compassion as well as himself.)

Grass
Description: Forest green fur with a light green underbelly. His eyes are still blue and his tail is a vine. He is most agile in this form and Crimson considers it the most versatile form to his disposal. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Razor Wheel- (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical.) A Grass-Type move. The user cloaks itself in razor-sharp leaves from the plant life around it and charges at the target.

Vine Whip- A Grass-Type move. Vine Whip inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. It can be used to ensnare opponents by wrapping the vines around the target areas.

Leaf Blade- A Physical Grass-Type move. The user handles a sharp leaf like a sword and attacks by cutting its target. Critical hits land more easily.

Energy Ball- A Special Grass-Type move. The user draws power from nature and fires it at the target. This may also lower the target’s Sp. Def stat.

Ice

Arctic Blue fur with a snow white belly. His eyes become a crisp and cutting light blue while his tail is a small puffball, similar to that of a chimps. His slowest form to date, but also his mightiest in terms of power and status. Used in Phase 1 or 2.

Close Combat- A damage dealing Fighting-Type move. The user fights the target up close without guarding itself. It also cuts the user’s Defense and Sp. Def.

Ice Wheel (Variant of Flame Wheel. Physical.) An Ice-Type move. The user cloaks himself in a mass of snow and hurtles itself at the target. This may also freeze the target.

Ice Hammer- A Physical Ice-Type move. The user swings and hits with its strong, heavy fist. It lowers the user’s Speed, however.

Ice Punch- A Physical Ice-Type move. The target is punched with an icy fist. This may also leave the target frozen.

Aurora Beam- A Special Ice-Type move. The target is hit with a rainbow-colored beam. This may also lower the target’s Attack stat.

History: Timeline of Events

Part I: The Past Before the Past

There isn't much data about his past...and in this instance, the phrase "isn't much" means hardly anything at all. No records of his existence as a human are available...especially on Ruula since that is not the planet he came from originally. The only one around that could possibly know would be Crimson. Unfortunately, he suffered from Amnesia and remembers nothing about his life before he became a Chimchar. The only clue regarding his past revealed to him was that a nefarious Dr. Benson could be responsible for his transformation. However, Crimson refutes this idea.

Part II: The Mohka Chronicles

Crimson woke up on the beach of Mohka, discovering he'd been transformed from a human to a Chimchar with no recollection of his past. He stumbled into the Isle Defender's trial, where he teamed up with and befriended a speedy and optimistic Turtwig named Tag and joined the ranks of the Isle Defenders under the name "Team Persistence". Along the way, they picked up a competitive, but loyal Piplup named Maya and started working their way through the ranks to become the best Isle Defenders team there was.

They faced much opposition from both the outside and in. They constantly butted heads with Team RedEye, the Primary Elite Team of the Isle Defenders consisting of a Greninja named Gova, a Houndoom named Pounce, and a Zoroark named Zane. They also fought against the island's biggest threat, a sinister group known as the Psychic Rebellion that had been causing massive amounts of trouble for the inhabitants of Mohka. All the while, they fought to debunk the rumors that all Psychic-Types were evil and tried to clear the names of many supposed wanted "criminals" they were targeting. However, no one listened at first.

Very soon after, Crimson discovered the whereabouts of one of the Psychic Rebellion's strongholds and pleaded the Isle Defenders Commanders to let him seek them out. They denied his request, but Crimson led his team there anyway. However, upon attempting an entry, they were caught. While Maya and Tag were captured and held for ransom, Officer Zam, an Alakazam, decided Crimson was capable of causing trouble and elected to kill him instead by flinging him over a cliff and into the ocean below. However, against all odds, Crimson ended up surviving the fall and went back to fight Officer Zam, defeating him in a head-to-head battle. Upon returning to Isle Defenders HQ, Crimson not only captured one of the more prominent members of the Psychic Rebellion but also proved his theories true, cleared the names of hundreds of innocent Psychic-Types, and earned a great notoriety within the guild itself.

The days flew past. Crimson continued to lead Team Persistence through tougher and more critical missions, now that he'd proven to the Isle Defenders he could handle the workload. One day, however, they were able to overhear a conversation between a few of the elite. It was then that they discovered the Psychic Rebellion had a mole within the Isle Defender's ranks and the organization's head had tasked all the "Elite" status Guild Teams to discover them. Meanwhile, Crimson was slowly becoming more and more distant, constantly found deep in thought by himself. Tag and Maya pursued him, asking what was wrong, but Crimson evaded their questions and wished to be left alone for a bit.

Then, one night, Tag awoke to the sound of Crimson sneaking off. He remained still until he was gone before waking up Maya and sneaking off after him. They followed Crimson to the beach, where they discovered him as a Water-Type launching Water Guns towards the ocean. Tag and Maya interrupted him, asking Crimson to explain himself. It was then revealed that Crimson had survived Officer Zam's toss by morphing into a Water-Type before his body could hit the water. This was when he discovered his power, but he didn't know why he had it or how he managed to earn it. He also explained his past, telling them that he was once human but had since changed into a Pokemon and had no recollection of what his human life was like. Tag and Maya vowed to help Crimson figure all this out and that they were on his side, no matter what. That night, Crimson made life long friends with Tag and Maya.

Their adventures continued. Crimson continued to lead his team with more enthusiasm than he'd ever given before, yet still they couldn't find the traitor among their ranks. Eventually, the Day of the Tide was upon them, a celebration of the longest day of the year on Mohka, which included a tournament for all guild teams to partake in in the illustrious Thunderdome. With a thrill for competition and a chance to prove their own mettle, Team Persistence elected to sign up and give it their best shot. Fortunately for them, their best shot was enough to take the team far in the tournament and before they knew it, they were in the semifinals.

Trouble came when their semifinal match against Team Justice. A decently placed jab against Crimson sent him flying, hitting the Thunder Stone that accented the center of the Thunderdome and gave it it's name. Despite being a fairly weak attack, the Chimchar was knocked out early, leaving Tag and Maya to take on the other members of Team Justice by themselves. Fortunately, with Tag's quick feet, Maya's quick thinking, and their combined determination and teamwork, they managed to outlast Team Justice and make their way to the final to face Team RedEye, the Primary Elite Team and the favorites to win. Still, there was much question about what had happened, how strong Crimson actually was if he was able to be knocked out so easily, and whether they wanted to go up against the ruthless golden boys of the Isle Defenders with how unlikely the match seemed to them. But despite all warnings, Crimson told them that he'd proceed.

And so the final match commenced, Team Persistence versus Team RedEye. The underdogs kept up with the favorites in the beginning, but were swiftly and suddenly outclassed when Crimson was Paralyzed and Tag and Maya were separated from each other. They were on the verge of losing when Zane the Zoroark and Pounce the Houndoom took it upon themselves to make their victory extra sweet by brutally beating the Turtwig and Piplup to a pulp in celebration and in glorious revenge for the constant fighting the two sides had done up to this point. In doing so, they made Crimson extremely mad, causing him to transform into an Electric-Type. However, among other things, he was noticeably stronger and was able to sweep the floor with Pounce the Houndoom and Gova the Greninja. And despite Zane's best tricks, Crimson was barely able to outlast him in the end, effectively winning the tournament for Team Persistence.

Throughout the fight, words were exchanged between Crimson and Zane and after waking up and piecing it together, the Chimchar learned that Zane was the mole they were looking for. He sought out one of the Elite Guild Members to warn them, but Zane got to him first. However, his attempt to eliminate Crimson came too late as a bystander stepped in and brought Zane down with a single strike. Crimson learned that it was Dr. Eckels who had intervened and had also pieced everything together. Zane was imprisoned, and Dr. Eckels decided to help Crimson figure out his oddities as a type-shifter.

After several weeks of research from the scientist's end, the only answer they could find was a supposed key for unlocking his powers, which were linked with the Elemental Stones in some way. Upon realizing this, Crimson decided that his next mission was to obtain a Leaf Stone to test this theory. Fortunately, Team Persistence's status as effective fighters and accomplished Guild Members had earned them the right to become Elite Guild Members, meaning they could take missions outside of the Isle and could travel throughout the rest of Mohka. He and the rest of Team Persistence took advantage of this, taking missions that would take them to forests, plains, and marshes where they were most likely to find a Leaf Stone.

On their journey, Crimson, Tag, and Maya ran into a dynamic duo named Pert and Meryl, a powerful Plusle-Minun team who were hard-working Guild Members from another region. The two clashed on jobs and ultimately competed with each other. As their short rivalry started turning in favor of Team Persistence, it was revealed that Pert and Meryl had been kicked out of their Guild for lack of effectiveness and were trying to prove themselves worthy to rejoin. Seeing their potential as fighters and as general good souls, Crimson invited them to join Team Persistence. Before they knew it, the team of three had expanded to five. They also came across the International Guild, a massive group of extremely strong group members that spanned across the whole world. Seeing Team Persistence's strength as a team, they invited the group to join their ranks. Despite the generous offer, Crimson declined and the rest of his team followed suit, electing to remain local. It wouldn't be long before they found a Leaf Stone through their adventuring and put the theory to the test. Sure enough, just like with the Water Stone, Crimson was knocked out and came to shortly after with the ability to morph into a Grass-Type. The theory had been proven and they could return to the land they called home.

But upon return to the Isle Defenders, they discovered a horrendous attack on a nearby city had been carried out in the name of the Psychic Rebellion. Through investigation and eyewitness accounts, it was revealed that several Pokemon were kidnapped and taken to an unknown location, splitting apart a lot of families and creating inner turmoil in the local region. What was more confusing, one local believed they may have seen Mewtwo at the scene, though this could not be confirmed by anyone else. Mewtwo carried a name of mystery in the community as the final challenger to defeat on the Mohka Trial, a rigorous journey for one Pokemon at a time to combat and defeat the five most skilled combatants in the land. Nothing else could be gleaned about the legendary as the only one who knew where he resided was the fourth challenger on the Mohka Trial. As such, he was rumored to be a good standing citizen who supported the community and partook in it's traditions. The eyewitness account was played off as standard Psychic-Type deception and the work for finding the lost Pokemon began.

Only Crimson continued to dwell in the possibility of what could've gone on at the site and decided to make a bold claim: to take on the Mohka Trial.

(To be continued...)

Part III: The Ruula Chronicles

After the downfall of the Psychic Rebellion, Crimson, Tag, and the other members of TeaM PerSisTenCe helped rebuild Bayside Town and brought the island of Mohka back to it's peaceful times. They still went on missions, explored new places, and continued to search for those that never renounced the ways of the Psychic Rebellion, specifically Sonya and Zane. Meanwhile, the Isle Defenders continued to work diligently, rebuilding the rest of Mohka's secretive Pokemon civilizations and maintaining the good times throughout.

One individual in particular worked harder than the rest. Now with more free time and new inventive ideas, the brilliant Dr. Eckels invented brand new Tech at a much higher rate. His work was no longer specifically for the Isle Defenders but for everyone who resided on the island. His inventions became less designed for combat and more designed for everyday use, making life easier for everyone. One project in particular had him working more feverishly than he had ever before. When he was asked about it by Crimson and Sarik, he told them it was a secret...one he wished to unveil to everyone.

Months would pass and the good times kept rolling. Eventually, the events of the final battle and what had happened there were nothing more than amazing stories the older generation told the younger. TeaM PerSisTenCe became an infamous name to all who heard it. Crimson's name in particular was a legendary one. The five teammates were recognizable wherever they went and cheers often accompanied them wherever they traveled to. Despite this, they never let their fame get to them. They stayed humble...they stayed focused.

And then one day, Dr. Eckels approached TeaM PerSisTenCe, saying that his major project was now complete. He asked them if they would be his first test subjects to explore a new place...one untouched by any Pokemon Exploration Team in the world. He also warned them that wherever they ended up, they would have to stay for a few months until Dr. Eckels found a way to bring them back. Despite this, Crimson accepted the offer without hesitation, the rest of his team following suit.

The next day, on the anniversary of the conception of the Isle Defenders, Dr. Eckels gathered a large crowd in the square for the main event. He proclaimed that a new world had yet to be discovered...a new realm of possibilities waiting to be explored. With that he revealed his latest and greatest invention, the Dimension Hopper. With it, any life form that stepped through it transported to a completely different world. He also proclaimed TeaM PerSisTenCe as the team who would get to go through first and explore this brand new land. Many goodbyes passed through the crowd to the five teammates, each packed with as much gear as they figured necessary for a long excursion through unknown territory. With a calm wave towards the cheering crowd, Crimson, Tag, Sarik, Pert, and Meryl went through the Dimension Hopper and into the world beyond. This was the beginning of their adventures within the Multiverse...

Seraphine looked at the pokemon, they were obviously unsure of how to convey the information. Crimson attempted, she did her best to play charades.

"Alright, he's looking for his trainer.... and doesn't know where he is." That much she got. Then he held up three fingers and pointed up at the sun. Three... days? He hadn't seen his trainer in three days? He should get to a pokemon center. The fennekin looked young, too.

"Looks like we're making an extra stop, which is good for you guys. You can search around town more." She headed toward the pokemon center, still carrying the fennekin. When she got there, she went up to the counter to speak to the nurse.

"Hello, what can I do for you today?" The nurse asked in a friendly tone.

"Well, this little guy lost his trainer a few days ago," she said, handing over the fennekin. "I wasn't sure about the lost and found procedures for pokemon, but if his trainer is missing him, he should be returned."

The nurse looked really upset. "Oh, he just escaped again. He actually doesn't have a trainer anymore, his trainer abandoned him. Abandoned all of his pokemon actually, but we actually found homes for the rest of them. It's only this one that doesn't have a home still."

Seraphine was astonished that someone could think of doing such a thing. "What? Why would someone do that??" She asked in surprise.

"I don't know. Some people just can't handle being trainers." The nurse shrugged as if this was an every day occurrence.

"Well, this guy deserves to have a home. I'll take him. How much is he?" She assumed there was a price for adopting pokemon.

"Oh, adopting pokemon is free. He's all yours. I don't know his name though." The nurse replied.

"Awesome! Looks like you've got a new trainer little guy." She took out a pokeball from her backpack.

Cinder was relieved that Crimson could relay information to her trainer. "Wow you have no memories of being human?" Cinder asked as they started walking to the pokemon center. "That must stink. I mean, losing memories of years, maybe even decades."

Cinder pondered the thought as Seraphine talked to the nurse.

The fennekin responded to Crimson "I don't know. He just left me and my friends out in the woods over there. We came here but other people picked up my friends already."

"Looks like you have a new trainer little guy." Seraphine pulled out a pokeball.

"Yay a new friend!" Cinder exclaimed. She liked being Seraphine's pokemon, but it got lonely being the only one.

"A new trainer? What happened to my trainer?" The fennekin still didn't know what was going on.

Crimson, Tag, and Sarik followed behind Seraphine and the Fennekin as they approached the Pokemon Center. Crimson smiled at Cinder's concern for him. "Well maybe. But I don't really focus on what my life was like as a human. The past has already happened and I can forget about it. The trick is to keep moving forward. I'm glad I'm with the company I'm with," he motioned towards Tag and Sarik, who couldn't help but smile back. "So it's a lot easier to deal with."

Before they knew it, they were inside the Pokemon Center. This was a new and strange feeling for the trio. Even with their numerous encounters with humans, they still had yet to enter a Pokemon Center up until now. Sarik was wary of everything, like the place was a death trap. He kept away from the walls and stuck close to Seraphine and Crimson. Tag was looking around in amazement at the cool looking technology spread out across the room. Crimson walked calmly, as if he belonged there, and studied the foreign atmosphere.

Crimson's attention was turned towards Seraphine and the nurse behind the counter as the story of the Fennekin was revealed. So his Trainer abandoned him...Crimson could see where people would get angry, given he'd been angry about that sort of thing before. If Seraphine and Cinder had met Crimson on Mohka, he wouldn't be nearly this level headed. But that was before that final battle...the battle that had changed his life. Now, Crimson viewed this as an opportunity for Seraphine to have another ally by her side...bonus for that ally being a fire-type.

Seraphine saw it the same way. She adopted the Fennekin without hesitation. Cinder was the most excited for it.

"Yay! A new friend!" she exclaimed.

"A new trainer? What happened to my trainer?" the Fennekin asked, confused.

Crimson was an honest fellow. That's just who he was. So he wasn't going to refrain any information from him."Well, your former trainer had to leave you in the forest. As to why, we don't know. Unfortunately, it's not likely he's coming back. But perhaps that's for the better. I know this girl well and she will take amazing care of you. And this is Cinder, the other member on her team."

Crimson then came upon a thought, "By the way, what is your name? Maybe we can find a way to get her to know it."

"My name's Flint," the fennekin said. "Why is he not coming back? What happened?" Flint was really upset. It's no wonder he couldn't find his trainer. His trainer left him in the forest. He didn't even know where the other pokemon on his team went. He would have to adjust to this new trainer. At least he had another pokemon to keep him company. He smiled at that thought.

He motioned for Seraphine to let him down so that he could interact with the other pokemon.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Seraphine finished the transaction at the pokemon center then let the fennekin down so that he could meet his new friends. He needed a name though. Something awesome... Well she didn't have to name him right now.

"Hey guys, where to next? Now that we've been pretty much around town."

"Flint, huh?" Crimson grinned as watched Seraphine set him down, "That's a cool name. I'm Crimson, the dashing leader of TeaM PErSisTenCe."

Sarik has to stifle a laugh while Tag practically exploded in giggles.

The Squirtle approached next. "I'm Sarik. Nice to meet you," he said politely.

Tag bounded up to the Fenneking, nearly running into him. "I'm Tag, the fastest on the team. Watch this!" He bounded out the door before Crimson could even raise a hand and beckon him back. Instead, Crimson laughed and followed the Turtwig outside of the Pokemon Center, Sarik, Cinder, and Seraphine in tow. Tag was running around in circles at the entrance.

"Hey guys, where to next?" Seraphine asked, "Now that we've been pretty much around town."

Crimson looked out towards the center of town, seeing the bustle of people visiting the island, tourist taking the ferry, and students studying for upcoming exams and quizzes. But among all the people and Pokemon he saw, none of them were Pounce and Gova. Which made sense considering that despite their skill, they wouldn't risk compromising their mission by hanging around closer to the humans.

Crimson didn't really expect his trio team to find them anyways. The plains were...well plain, the Academy was extremely risky and the town had too much activity. He really wanted to come this way for what he saw last night and that paid off with the broken communicator. His next plan of action was to rendezvous with Dobro and Domingo in the forest.

"Alright. Then to the forest we go!" Crimson told his companions, pointing that way to demonstrate where he wanted to go to Seraphine before walking in that direction. Tag and Sarik were close behind, beckoning Flint and Cinder as well as Seraphine to follow.

"All set?"

One of the mysterious Pokemon was watching the other one work. He wasn't impatient and his tone didn't imply it. He just simply asked out of curiosity. The one working, however, was impatient.

"How many times are you going to ask me that?" she snapped.

The male Pokemon shrugged and gazed towards the sky, "Until you're all set."

Growling, the female Pokemon went back to her work, wiring switches, adjusting knobs, turning gears, and...

"There," she sighed, stepping back from her contraption, tired and irritated, but grinning out of triumph.

The male went to inspect it, studying the design and looking over the switches that interested him, "Excellent...better than Neeko's was, I'm sure. Except..." he looked at the female with a scowl, "How do I hold it with one hand? It's huge!"

Rolling her eyes, she stepped up and oriented the contraption until it was on her shoulder, "Like this."

The male's eyes lit up, "Ah...brilliant...and the best part is we built it in nearly two days! Neeko's took months!"

The female smiled smugly, "Thank you. If it hadn't been for me, we wouldn't even have come this far with it. We'd still be playing this dumb waiting game and spying on others."

The male's smile disappeared, "Maybe so. But still, I said pull out, not engage. You're just lucky no one saw you take down Grimsley and his Darkrai."

The female kept her coy smile, but her eyes were stone cold, "It worked out in the end, darling. And now instead of having one Legendary's power at your disposal, you have three."

The male suddenly appeared in front of her, siezing her arm and staring at her with a deadly gaze, "I don't care what benefit was gained by your actions. You defied my instructions. Do not do it again." he let go of her, snatching the device off her shoulder and putting it on his. "I will destroy you without a second thought," he threatened once more before walking away.

The female, angry and spiteful, glared on with hateful eyes. If she'd had it her way, she'd have destroyed him without a second thought. But, like it or not, she needed him to get what she wanted. So for now, she'd push away her pride and follow orders for once, no matter how much she hated Dark Types.

"You comin' or what? We've got a world to rule!" she heard the male Pokemon call back. She started walking that direction after him, a snarl on her face that slowly turned into a grin at the thought of killing him.

Soon, however, when the time was ripe, she would slaughter and betray him and take his throne.

The Psychic Rebellion shall rise once more...

Seraphine laughed at the turtwig running in circles outside the pokemon center. She was sure it had something to do with the conversation but it was still funny to watch. Crimson beckoned towards the forest so she followed, letting them lead. She let the fennekin interact with the other pokemon for a while but then she needed to figure out its name. She studied him for a while. He looked kinda like Flint would suit him, you know, like flint and steel. She smiled, it was a cool name. "I think I'm going to call you Flint little guy." The fennekin looked up in surprise. "What? Did I miss something?"
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

"And I'm Cinder! I'm the other pokemon on Seraphine's team. Nice to meet ya Flint!" Cinder extended a claw for the fennekin to take. After Flint shook her claw, she walked out of the pokemon center to see Tag running in circles.

"Wow you really are fast!" Cinder exclaimed as she walked towards Tag.

"So, where to next?" Seraphine asked.

"To the forest!" Crimson said and started walking that direction. Cinder followed behind, trying to include the fennekin in the conversation. He had to have been younger than she was, couldn't have been more than a couple months out of the egg.

"I think I'm going to call you Flint little guy." Seraphine said. Wow, that was a coincidence.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Flint shook Cinder's claw. "It's nice to meet everyone too." He was about to start asking more questions but then he saw tag running in circles and he giggled. "You really are fast!"

"So where to next?" Seraphine asked. She wasn't in charge of these pokemon? That is weird. I mean, Cinder followed her everywhere, but the others seemed to be leading her.

"To the forest!" said Crimson, and everyone followed.

"So you guys are wild pokemon then? You said you were on some kind of team but you're obviously not Seraphine's." Before the other pokemon could respond, Seraphine spoke.

"I think I'll call you Flint, little guy." Whoa. Is she psychic or something? She guessed his name!

"I think I'll call you Flint, little guy." said Seraphine. The Fennekin looked up at her in absolute shock as she had managed to guess his name on the first go. Crimson chuckled.

"It seems you two were more made for each other than you initially thought," he commented as they walked on. Crimson followed the path for the most part, glancing around for Team Justice or Team RedEye. Sarik kept glancing back, covering the rear. Tag was bounding all over the place, scouting out the area in front. Had Pert and Meryl been here, they would be providing support for Tag as he galloped about. They had a system for just about every scenario and they could improvise quickly. It was one of the reasons why they made a fantastic team.

"So you asked about our team?" Crimson remembered, watching Tag bound across the path in a green blur. "Yeah, we're members of an Exploration Guild called the Isle Defenders. Our goals are to explore foreign territories, help Pokemon in need, and defend our home from evil forces. Right now, we're on an exploration mission with two other teams: Team Justice and Team RedEye. But that has kind of stopped for the time being." Crimson glanced back at Sarik just to make sure everyone was with him before continuing.

"You see, we had an incident yesterday...an incident that didn't make us look good. One of the members of Team Justice was controlled by someone to snatch...well, Cinder over there," he motioned towards the Charmander before going on, "As to who, how, and why, we don't know. But we're hypothesizing all kinds of scenarios in our heads trying to figure this out. Our biggest lead is through Team RedEye with this," Crimson pulled out the broken communicator for the two to examine. "This is a Distance Communicator. It allows for Pokemon teams to stay in contact with one another from long distances. The only ones I can think of that would have this device is Team RedEye. And while we don't think they did it, we think they may know what happened."

"Woah!" came Tag's cry from the forest, "Guys, come check this out!"

Crimson and Sarik made an immediate detour off the path, moving branches and ferns out of the way to see where they were going. "Tag!" Crimson called out, "Keep talking buddy so we know where to find you!"

"Over here!" Tag called back, sounding closer.

The Murkrow blinked his eyes open. Everything hurt. The ground seemed dustier and less full of plant life when he'd first spotted it. Shaking his head awake, he slowly got up, his wings and claws protesting against the action.

"Aaaahhhh, this hurts," he groaned, rubbing his left wing with his right, "Damn Samurott..."

He checked himself over, making sure he wasn't viciously hurt, before gazing at the landscape in front of him. The once lush forest around the Berry Farm was reduced to dirt and dust. Uprooted trees were everywhere, sprinkling the area with wood chips and leaves. And it wasn't just this part of the forest here he'd battled the Pangoro and Samurott. The battles with the other members of the trespassers had left it's mark all across the landscape. The most destroyed area was where he stood at the moment. Damn Pangoro...

But, despite all the destruction, it was a miracle that the Berry Farm remained untouched. Sighing in relief and great joy, the Murkrow shambled over to it. He didn't dare risk flying in his state. Picking an Oran Berry from the bunch, he sat down in the shade and ate it. The wounds were healing and the pain receding. He would probably have to take another to regain completely, but he wanted to make sure the other members of The Sunrise Clan got their share. A lot of their members were hurt or taken down in their failed ambush.

He tested his own health, flapping his wings slightly to make sure nothing was too badly hurt. It wasn't. Good

The Murkrow had fainted, he knew that much for sure. But he remembered his best friend, Peggy, was fighting with him. Looking back over where he fought, he didn't see the Starraptor anywhere. That meant that either she escaped...or the two brutes had captured her. He would hope it was the former.

"Over here!"

The Murkrow spun around towards the direction of the noise. It was a voice he didn't recognize...but then again there were a lot of members of The Sunrise Clan that he'd never met, including the leader. Perhaps it was reinforcements. The Murkrow started making his way towards the calling sound, not risking flight as of yet, but took the more stable approach of hovering to where the voice was coming from...which was being accompanied by more voices.

Crimson burst through the final layer of trees to find Tag bouncing up and down in excitement. "So what is it?" Crimson asked curiously.

"Look!" Tag nodded towards Crimson's left.

Turning that way, Crimson saw...a hole in the ground. No, there was more to it. Protruding from the hole was a staircase made of ice. Right next to it was a rope of a sticky variety...like a Bug-Type would use. Peering down into the hole, Crimson noted the cold air as well as the tunnel network below him. Sarik looked over the edge with Crimson.

"It's a cave system..." Sarik said aloud, turning back towards Tag with a smile. "Nice find, buddy!"

"I say we should explore it!" Tag yipped, looking at Crimson for support.

While Crimson loved to explore caverns and find treasures, he had to be honest with Tag. "As much as I want to, we need to find Team RedEye first."

Tag whined, "But what if they're down there?"

"I doubt it," Crimson replied, "Neither Pounce nor Gova have any form of ground-type abilities or ice-type. They would've had to get help to make this cave. And knowing them, they wouldn't do that."

"But what if they discovered it like this and figured it was the perfect spot to set up their base camp?"

"Another possible scenario," Sarik nodded, "But take a look at this."

He walked over to the ice staircase and rubbed his paw on the top step. Sure enough, it was wet.

"It's melting," the Squirtle pointed out, "Had they discovered it this way, they would've had to within the previous few hours. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a staircase here. While the innards of the cave might be cold, the mouth is warm...too warm for ice." Sarik turned to Tag with the proof on his now wet paw. "I wouldn't count on them being down there."

Tag held disappointment in his eyes, but knew they were right, "Okay..."

"Hey..." Crimson walked over to his friend and patted him on the head, "That's not saying we won't go down there. It just means we won't go down there yet. Let's find Team RedEye. Then, we'll go down into the cave."

Tag's eyes lit up once more in anticipation, "Yeah! I can't wait!"

"Hey!" came a cry from the edge of the ferns. The three looked to see a Murkrow hopping towards them, a mean look on his face. He was covered in dirt and dust, as if he'd just been in a fight. There was a bandanna tied around his head, slightly disheveled and very dirty, but still visible was that red circle with beams protruding from it.

"Is that another member of an exploration team?" Sarik questioned, looking over the bandanna.

"Are there Guilds on this island?" Tag asked in thought out loud. Crimson stepped forward.

"Hey, there," Crimson held on to a smile, "What happened to you?"

"You're trespassing on our land!" the Murkrow shouted furiously.

"Your land?" Crimson raised a brow, "Who's the our in 'our land'?"

The Murkrow challenged him, "Oh don't play dumb with me! You can't seriously tell me that you've never heard of The Sunrise Clan! We own this part of the forest...the part that you're currently invading."

"Well we didn't meant to-"

"SILENCE!" the Murkrow's voice stopped Crimson's short, "First the Ghastly's team, then the Samurott's, and now you guys!"

Crimson's eyes widened when he mentioned the Samurott, "Domingo and Dobro were here?"

"AHA!" the Murkrow pointed an accusing wing at Crimson, "You know the Samurott, then! You're in allegiance with them!" with that, he threw a Sucker Punch at the Chimchar, who didn't see it coming. The sudden blow sent him flying backwards into the tree. Crimson was much stronger than he appeared and the Murkrow was weaker from the previous fight, so the blow didn't hurt too bad. But a hit was still a hit. Shaking his head, he got up quickly, holding his chest where the Murkrow had punched him.

"You alright?" Sarik ran to him.

"Yeah, I've taken worse than that," Crimson gave a reassuring grin, looking at the Murkrow who was grinning wickedly.

"Oh, I'm going to enjoy taking down all you guys..." he mused as he set himself up for combat.

Crimson straightened himself and looked around him. It was five to one at the moment, a rather unfair advantage for his team to be holding over the Murkrow. It was also clear the Murkrow wasn't thinking straight, out of fatigue from his previous scrap or out of anger towards people who weren't a part of his clan. Crimson didn't want to hurt him so much as talk some sense into him. He looked towards Cinder and Flint. An idea formed.

"Cinder! Flint!" he called out to the two, "I want you two to fight him!" He then looked at Seraphine, pointing at the two Pokemon she now had and then at the Murkrow, who was shifting his own gaze towards them.

"Is that a good idea?" Tag whispered to Crimson.

"They know how to fight. They've got an excellent trainer with a heart of passion to direct them. They should do fine." Crimson could say that about Cinder, but what about Flint? What kind of moves did he have?

Well...it's a good time to find out...

Crimson pointed at Cinder and Flint and then at the Murkrow. The Murkrow looked hostile, so he wanted them to fight it? She wasn't sure, the last fight she got into she was creamed. But Murkrow was Dark/Flying, neither of which were resistant to fire or normal moves, so she guessed it could work. But how was she going to direct Flint when she didn't even know what moves he had? Well, this was going to be interesting. She bent down to talk to her pokemon.

"Ok, guys, looks like we're fighting. I don't know what kind of moves you have, Flint, but try to weaken its defenses so that Cinder can get more blows in. I'll direct you like always Cinder. You guys ready?" Cinder gave her nod of approval and turned around to fight it. Flint seemed more timid, but turned around as well.

"Alright! Looks like you're fighting us! Flint, weaken its defenses, Cinder, use ember!"
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cinder could tell already that the Murkrow was going to be hostile, so when Seraphine told her to fight it, she had no problem doing so. Flint, on the other hand, was more timid.

"But I... I've only practiced! I've never done an actual battle." The fennekin was really nervous. He only knew three moves: scratch, tail whip, and ember. He had just learned the third one, too. But Seraphine told him to weaken the opposing pokemon's defenses. Well, the only way he knew how was tail whip, so that would have to do, he supposed.

"Alright! Looks like you're fighting us! Flint, weaken its defenses, Cinder, use ember!" shouted Seraphine.

Cinder used the flame on her tail to produce more fire to hurl at the murkrow. Meanwhile, Flint darted towards the opposing pokemon and turned around for a tail whip.

The Murkrow was a bit surprised to see the other three bowing out, leaving him to battle Cinder and Flint. He knew the Chimchar was much stronger than he let on just by his stance. A typical Sucker Punch he threw would leave a Pokémon at least clenching his teeth from the pain. Crimson wasn't even breathing harder.

No matter, he thought. I don't have to deal with those three yet. Right now, let's take care of the fire posse...

He smirked when he heard the Fennekin's protest. He hasn't battled before? He glanced towards Crimson in suspicion who only watched with a curious look on his face. What kind of game are they trying to pull?

The flames reached the Murkrow first. He easily glided past it, flapping his wings and landing a bit to the left. He wasn't prepared for the Tail Whip, which struck a wing and sent him crashing to the ground. It didn't hurt much, but he knew he was vulnerable to this duo. He'd have to enjoy this a little less.

Meanwhile, the spectators viewed the battle from the base of a tree with a weird marking burned into the trunk. Crimson nodded at Seraphine's initial strike.

Excellent, he thought. Seraphine utilized her advantage of having two Pokémon by attacking with both. Yeah he dodged the damage dealing one, but now he's even more vulnerable to another strike.

Picking himself up, the Murkrow steadied himself and set up for a Wing Attack aimed at the Fennekin. "A lucky start, but I won't go down so easily!" He flapped his wings until he got to a vantage point, then dove with his wing aiming for Flint.

Seeing him get ready for a wing attack, Seraphine yelled "Flint, dodge to the right!" The wing attack barely missed Flint as it brushed against his fur. Whew, that was super close!, Flint thought.

"Alright Flint, do another tail whip! Cinder, tackle him!" Since he had tail whip, a physical attack should be more effective than a special attack. Flint, after dodging, felt more confident in his tail whip, since it had affected him before. Cinder, for her part, charged towards the Murkrow for a tackle now that his defenses were down.

Growling when his slice brushed passed Flint, the Murkrow sweeped upward, hovering high over everyone. He circled the two fighters like a vulture gazing at it's prey. The two attacks made their best attempts but to no avail as the Murkrow was too far above them.

"Hah!" he cried, "Can't hit me now, can you?" He began to twirl in the air before diving down, spiraling as he went. This was going to be one nasty Peck for Cinder.

Crimson looked on at the Murkrow's tactics, noticing that it was going to use it's flight to his advantage. Seeing this, he began to immediately break down the situation and study how to beat him.

Now Cinder and Flint aren't going to reach him if he continues to fly this high. Cinder's only range move is Ember. So Cinder could use Ember and Flint as well if he has it. That would be the safe option, but the Murkrow seems a bit dodgy. That might not work very well. They could also wait for him to attack and counter before he gains the high ground again. That would involve some agility and mobility which it looks like Fennekin might have enough of, but maybe not. However...

Crimson's gaze fell over to the trees as the third option came to mind...the option he would've taken. Tag and Sarik cheered from the sidelines.

"Yeah! You got this, guys!" Tag encouraged.

"Look out, Cinder!" Sarik cried, pointing at the spiraling black shape plummeting down onto the Charmander's head.

Seraphine was annoyed at the murkrow's flight. Most of her moves were on the ground. She could ember all day, but the Murkrow would just dodge. She needed him to be on the ground. but how to get him there with pokemon with such basic moves?

"Cinder, dodge that peck, then tackle immediately!" The Murkrow had a lot of speed, but that meant it couldn't switch course very well, so Cinder was easily able to dodge out of the way and immediately tackle. Her training with tail whip/ tackle combos had been invaluable here. "Flint, if you have a physical move, use it, otherwise use another attack." If he had Ember, that would be good, if he didn't have a physical attack. Flint had scratch so he dove in, claws first.

"Hrrngh!" The Murkrow made a noise as the Charmander leaped to the side and proceeded to tackle him. Coupled with the Scratch immediately following and the Tail Whip from earlier, this did some serious damage. He fell forward and hit the ground hard.

Tag and Sarik cheered. Crimson nodded in approval. It showed great mobility on Cinder's part as well as Seraphine's innate ability to take advantage of a situation. They could do this hands down.

But the fight wasn't done yet. The Murkrow groaned as he pulled himself upright, wincing from the pain. Snarling at the two Fire Types, he suddenly launched forward with amazing speed, landing a quick Sucker Punch on Cinder before taking to the skies once more.

"I'm done playing games!" He roared while circling above them, "I'm not losing to a couple of basic weaklings!"

He swooped low again and proceeded to Wing Attack Flint once more, his own determination and rage making him faster than before.

Cinder staggered from the pain. That Murkrow was strong, but she was still ok to fight. She stood up as the Murkrow was coming in for the Wing Attack.

"Cinder use ember! Flint--"

Cinder immediately used ember and hit the Murkrow. But poor Flint didn't have time to move out of the way and was sent flying. He hit a tree and was clearly knocked out.

"--return!" Seraphine held out his pokeball so that he could return to it.

"Be careful Cinder! Keep moving so he doesn't know where to strike!" She hadn't had time to teach Cinder double team yet but hopefully she could zigzag so that the Murkrow would have a harder time hitting. She was not going to lose this battle.

The Ember that struck the Murkrow nearly caused him to plummet from the sky. But he held on, flapping his wings and ignoring the throbbing aching bones all over his body. He held on to the positive thoughts...like the previous two attacks.

Two clean hits. Precisely what the Murkrow was going for. And a one hit knock out on the Fennekin was an added bonus. The rest of this fight would be a cakewalk so long as he could avoid being hit one more time. That would be easier now that he had one less Pokemon to deal with. The Murkrow circled around, keeping an eye on the Charmander below as he came up with a plan.

Meanwhile, Tag and Sarik gasped when Flint flew into the tree, fainting on impact. Even in the weakened state the Murkrow was, he could still pull that off. Granted, they didn't know Flint's fighting capabilities up to that point, but it was still shocking to see.

"Come on, Cinder!" Tag encouraged while Sarik could only stare, wide eyed. Crimson had been silent up to this point and now his voice rang through.

"Cinder! Use the trees!" he called, "Climb the trees and tackle when you get to a high enough vantage point!" he hoped the Charmander would take his advice and start climbing, but the method may seem a little unorthodox. It wasn't a common battle strategy, but it was the one Crimson was comfortable using. The environment played an important role when it came to these fights and he knew it would help Cinder and Seraphine win the fight here.

Cinder gasped for breath as her ember did some damage. Looks like one more good shot would do it, but she also knew another shot and she'd be done for, too.

"Cinder! Use the trees!" That was Crimson, not Seraphine, but that sounded like a good idea. Cinder jumped up to a low branch on the nearest tree and pulled herself up. She dug her claws into the trunk and started ascending the tree that way. Hopefully the cover of the branches would be enough that she didn't get hit.

Seraphine, for her part debated on what to do. She couldn't debate too long but this Murkrow looked like all it needed was one more good hit and she needed her pokemon alive for that hit. As she was thinking, she saw Cinder climbing the tree. Oh, that was a great idea. She could tackle from the air.

"Cinder, jump and tackle him when you have a vantage point!" She hoped Cinder could hear her.

Cinder climbed up to a branch that wasn't too high, but was above the Murkrow and waited for the perfect moment before jumping and tackling.

The Murkrow had the perfect strategy. He'd prepare another Wing Attack, except that he'd miss on purpose. He'd aim just a bit to the left, enough to scare the Charmander to the right. Then, he'd swoop around for a quick counter attack and land the final Sucker Punch, dealing with this pest once and for all. Satisfied with his plan, he prepared the Wing Attack and started scanning the ground for Cinder.

Except that she wasn't there. Confusion was the first emotion that went through the Murkrow's spine, followed immediately by irritation. She couldn't have went far. he thought. She's not very fast.

He flew a bit lower, looking for any signs of a burning tail other than the Chimchar's. Little did he know as he flew underneath the branch Cinder was on that an aerial sneak attack was coming.

"Wha-URK!" The Murkrow cried as Cinder leaped on top of him, the force of the tackle bringing him down to the ground. With a hard thud, the two Pokemon hit the dirt, a cloud of dust and sand particles erupting all around them. Seraphine gasped while Tag and Sarik moved hesitantly forward, ready to jump in in case the worst had happened. Crimson crossed his arms, waiting.

When the dust settled, it was Cinder standing there, a triumphant fist in the air while the Murkrow was on the ground unconscious. She had done it. Two mighty cheers came from the Turtwig and Squirtle as they ran over to her, congratulating her.

"That was awesome!" Tag cried, nudging Cinder.

"A good fight, indeed," Sarik grinned.

Crimson walked up, a patient smile on his face. "That was well-executed, Cinder. Good job."

"Thanks!" Cinder cheered before remembering something, "Flint! Is he okay?" She ran over to Seraphine and yanked on her leg, "Where's Flint?!"

Seraphine stared down, confused as first. Huh? What did Cinder want? She then noticed the anxiety in Cinder's eyes and realized, Oh, Flint! Seraphine squatted down to reach eye level with her Pokemon, "Don't worry. Flint will be okay. We just need to take him to the Pokemon Center and get him healed up. I think you should get healed as well. You battled pretty hard out there!"

Crimson nodded in agreement, "No Pokemon is invincible."

Cinder felt a pain in her chest, the remnants from the Sucker Punch earlier. Yeah, that may not be a bad idea...

"Alright then." Cinder replied as Seraphine got her Pokeball out and retrieved her. Putting it back on her belt, Seraphine then turned to the three of them. "Thanks, guys! Cinder really needed that victory."

"As did you," Crimson responded back, giving her a thumbs up. "You go take care of your Pokemon and get to know Flint a bit better. We'll take care of our buddy here." He motioned to the passed out Murkrow on the ground. Tag was already getting the talons while Sarik grabbed the wings. Together, they lifted the Murkrow onto Tag's back and went searching for a Berry Bush. They wouldn't have to travel far.

For Seraphine, it took a bit to understand what he was saying, but it appeared that the fire monkey was telling her to go back to the Pokemon Center. She nodded, "Alright, if you guys got your searching part down!" she turned and started heading towards the path before stopping and calling to the trio, "Hope we meet again soon!" And then she was off towards the Pokemon Center.

"Me too," Crimson muttered under his breath before making his way to wherever Tag and Sarik had gone. Luckily, he didn't have to go far.

"Jeez, it looks like a battlefield out here," he noted as he saw the uprooted trees, the cuts and slices of various attacks scattered all over, the leaves and grass bits collected in miniature piles, and the dust and dirt of shifting ground coating it all. The only bit of life standing in the clearing was a Berry Farm in which Tag and Sarik had approached. Tag dropped off the bird gently while Sarik plucked an Oran Berry. Crimson casually walked over to the two. "You guys have any idea what happened here?"

"Not a clue," Tag answered, looking out to the destruction around him.

"From the looks of the trees, I'd say Dobro had been here," Sarik said, "And made quite a mess of things."

Yeah. From what the Murkrow had said earlier, Crimson could easily deduce that the Pangoro had been here as well as Domingo. But they weren't here alone. Three Pokemon couldn't produce this much damage unless legendaries were involved. So who were the others?

And then a slight stir came from the Murkrow as he awoke. Sarik held the Oran Berry out for him, which he took without opening his eyes. Cursing, the Murkrow ate it as he groaned in pain. The three of them could see the Berry do it's work as the strain in the Murkrow's face relaxed, allowing an almost peaceful expression to enter his mind.

"Man..." the Murkrow groaned, rubbing the back of his head and re positioned his headband, "I got knocked out twice in one day..." he slowly got up and opened his eyes to see Crimson, Tag, and Sarik standing there.

"WAUGH!" The Murkrow squawked, forming fist and backing up into the Berry Bush, "I-I'll take you all on!"

"Relax," Crimson stepped forward, his hands held out in front of him, "We're not gonna hurt you. From the sounds of it, you've had enough battle for one day."

The Murkrow gave a quizzical eye, lowering his fists a little bit. The tension in his stance relaxed slightly.

"Why did you attack us earlier?" Tag asked.

The Murkrow sighed in annoyance, "You were trespassing on our land!"

"Your land?" Sarik raised a brow.

"This part of the forest is owned by us, the Sunrise Clan! And we're not going to stand for people walking up and thinking they can have some of our stuff!" The Murkrow shouted at them.

"Okay, okay," Crimson lowered his hands in a gesture to calm down, "We weren't trying to trespass on anyone's land. We didn't know your group lived here. We're new to the island."

The Murkrow's voice grew a bit softer, "Then how did you get here? The ferry doesn't let any Pokemon on board. Only Water-Types and Flying-Types are able to get here."

"By boat," Sarik responded matter-of-factly.

"By boat?" the Murkrow questioned, "You mean the ferry?"

"No," Tag took over, "By a boat we made ourselves."

The Murkrow thought about this, "Well, I guess that's possible. But that doesn't explain why your friends attacked us!"

Crimson shrugged, "We do know the Samurott and the Pangoro. They are in our group. But they wouldn't attack unless someone else threatens their life. Did you guys do that?"

The Murkrow rubbed the back of his neck. "Well...we, sort of were planning an ambush," he admitted, hopping onto his left foot, "B-but that's only because they were about to steal from our berry farm! In fact, one of them did!"

"Which one?" Crimson asked out of curiosity.

"The Joltik! He plucked the berry!"

This threw a bit of confusion over Crimson, "We don't know any Joltiks as far as I know."

The Murkrow looked confused as well, "What? You guys don't know any Joltiks?"

"Nope, not a one," Tag replied.

"Then what about the Gastly?" Murkrow asked, "And the Mankey?"

"Haven't met any as long as we've been here," Crimson answered.

"Wait..." Tag thought for a moment before looking at Crimson, "What about Radegast's Pokemon?"

"You mean the trainer we met at the academy?" Sarik asked, recognition lighting up in his eyes as he remembered.

"Yeah! He had a Joltik! And a Mankey! He even had a Haunter that had just evolved when we got there!"

Crimson looked back to the Murkrow, "Well, then we have met them before, or at least they have. But they weren't a part of our group. They were with a human trainer. We're wild Pokemon."

"You mean the human that fell down the hole and broke his arm?" the Murkrow was now relaxed and a bit more trusting towards them.

"The human was wearing a sling, too!" Sarik looked at Crimson, eyes wide in astonishment.

Crimson smiled, "There you have it. It must've been that guy. I don't know how his Pokemon work, but the ones that are with us don't spread malice and especially don't bully people. If you fight one of us, it's because you're in the wrong." And that was the truth. The Isle Defenders only chose the most moral of candidates to represent their guild and protect the Island of Mohka. If someone was fighting an Isle Defender, it meant that they were in the wrong, not the Isle Defender.

Well, Zane was pure evil, but there are exceptions to every rule...

The Murkrow lowered his wings, finally understanding, "I guess we did make ourselves out to be an enemy by surrounding their group. Sorry for that."

"It's okay," Crimson extended a hand for the Murkrow to shake, "We all make mistakes. But I'm willing to forgive and forget if you are."

The Murkrow paused before accepting the handshake, smiling for the first time, "I am."

Tag spoke up, "So should we head back to base camp and see how the others are doing?"

Crimson nodded, "They're probably back by now. We had the most area to cover." he turned to the Murkrow, "Thanks for understanding. We'll try to pass by this area if we can help it."

The Murkrow sighed, "It's gonna be a real pain cleaning this place up. Not to mention explaining to everyone else what happened here. But it's not a big deal. And you're welcome to pass through if you need to. Our apology for striking without reasoning first." The Murkrow waved to them as the three headed towards the mountains. "Wish you luck on your travels!"

When the three got back to their home base in the mountains, Crimson was startled by the sudden hug that Pert threw around him.

"Oh thank Arceus!" he cried, tightening his grip.

"Woah, why, what?!" Crimson looked past Pert to Dobro and Domingo, who had grimaces on their faces. As Pert released him, he put his hands on Pert's shoulders, "What happened? What's wrong?"

"It's Meryl!" the Plusle sniffed, fighting back tears. Crimson looked towards the other two for clarification.

"She's unconscious right now. She hasn't woken up yet," Dobro filled him in.

"What?!" Crimson ran over to the Minun's sleeping form. He could see the scratches and wounds all over her, "What happened?"

"Pert and Meryl got ambushed by Sableye," Domingo answered, peering at Meryl, "From the sounds of it, the attack was coordinated. There were more than ten there."

Tag and Sarik stood by Meryl, nearly bursting into tears themselves.

"So the Sableye did this to her?" Crimson got up, turning to face Domingo.

"Not quite..." Domingo answered.

"It was her own self," Pert choked, letting the tears run down his face once more, "She let loose a Shock Wave like I'd never seen. It was so powerful, it took care of the Sableye no problem. But this was the result," he gestured towards the fainted Pokemon, "I've never seen her take this long to wake up."

Crimson let loose a deep breath, trying to fight back his own inner rage. What he needed was a clear mind to figure out what to do, not to let his emotions take over. It was hard though. He kept having flashbacks to that final fight against the Psychic Rebellion...

The night sky was clouded with smoke. The once green rolling fields were now trampled by the fighting Pokemon, the ground covered in overturned dirt and scorched earth. The wind was harsh and laced with heat from fires blazing everywhere. The air was polluted with smoke and constantly moving dust from rock attacks. It was a battleground.

The fight was still going on. Crimson had morphed into the Dark-Type, launching a Dark Pulse at Neeko. The Nidoking was resilient, however, and took the blast like it was nothing, despite being weaker to the type. A glare of hate in his eye with a smile of confidence, Neeko struck back with Sludge Bomb, but Crimson dodged it to the left. He ran forward, Power Bat charged and ready to exert energy as he leaped into a close quarter combat situation, throwing a Dark Punch in his direction. Neeko swiped at him, a move that Crimson easily used to jump on his arm, then flip over him. Landing perfectly, he pivoted and swung the Power Bat, the massive load of power unleashing into Neeko. A grunt of pain was all Neeko could utter as he was launched back from the blast, hitting the ground hard and rolling a couple more feet. Crimson stepped towards him, watching as he picked himself up from the ground and let loose a slight chuckle.

"You see?" he laughed, lifting his hands up at the other battles raged around the two leaders, "With this other Moon Stone's power, I'm barely even fazed by your attacks! You barely hurt me!" He charged forward, A Giga Impact in store for the Dark-Type Chimchar. But he was more evasive than that and propelled himself back with Acrobatics, easily preventing Neeko's attack from hitting anything.

"Maybe not, but it doesn't matter if you can't hit me!" Crimson cried before twirling his bat and charging forward once more. The two exchanged blows, Crimson took on an Earth Power while Neeko got struck by the Power Bat, the two launched back from the respective impacts. Crimson rolled back onto his feet while Neeko never left his. He laughed once more and crossed his arms.

"Give it us, Crimson! I'm stronger than you now! You and the Isle Defenders are going down as we pave the road for a better future! It's time for the Psychic-Types to reign supreme!" Neeko rushed forward, another Giga Impact heading Crimson's way. Crimson remained focused, waiting until the last minute before blocking Neeko with his bat. It started to glow as it absorbed the energy expelled by the Giga Impact.

"Not today, it isn't!" Crimson shouted back, "Not ever!" He shoved Neeko's arms out of the way and used Dark Pulse once more. The attacked barely shifted Neeko's position, but Crimson was already changing types once more. Before Neeko knew it, Crimson was back to his typical Fire-Type self. He charged forward with Flame Wheel, hitting Neeko directly as he was still recovering from the powerful moves he's just used. Neeko flew back much further this time, landing on his back. Crimson stepped forward, a look of determination on his face as Neeko got up slowly.

"Don't you see what you're doing?!" Crimson called to him over the sounds of other Pokemon battles raging around him, "You'll destroy everything around you! You'll destroy everything these Pokemon have worked so hard to achieve! You'll take away their peace! Do you want that?!" Crimson watched a Flamethrower blast go over his head as Neeko got into a fighting stance once more.

"What achievements?!" Neeko shot back, "There's still fighting and bad guys and Pokemon who need help every day! You haven't done a thing to help them! They need proper leadership!" The Psybeam crossed right in front of his face, but Neeko didn't move.

"They need someone to protect them, not someone to command them!" Crimson said, pleading in his voice, "You have to understand that what you and Dr. Benson are doing here is wrong!" But the Neeko shook his head.

"No, we know the only true way to peace," he replied, "It takes sacrifice of the useless to make progress among the strong! And you are standing in the way of that!" before he knew it, Neeko was picking up the Master Blaster he'd dropped at the beginning of the battle and pointing it at his face, "I shouldn't have a problem taking care of you with this now! Your bat won't save you this time!" A wicked smile appeared on his face as he charged the weapon. A whirring sound was heard. Crimson placed his left foot behind him and held the bat in front of him. The last time he'd been struck by this thing, it had knocked him out for a month. And it would've killed him has the Power Bat not absorbed a good portion of the blast.

But Crimson was prepared this time. Crimson was stronger. The Fire Stone he'd absorbed earlier gave him an extremely large well of power he could tap into. He could resist the attack. He just knew it.

But Neeko thought for a split second about what Crimson had just said. Was he doing the right thing here? Was Dr. Benson, his master, actually in the wrong? He had perceived a better future from this, the strong would progress while the weak would be cast aside. But what would the weak actually be doing? Would they be serving to him? Or would they become experiments in Dr. Benson's lab?

"Do it now!" came a voice from behind.

Neeko turned to see a human in a lab coat pointing at the Chimchar, "You have him right where you want him!" Dr. Benson bellowed, "Finish this one off!"

But Crimson had seen the hesitation in his eyes, had noticed the tides turning in his morality. He called back to him, "Neeko! This guy doesn't mean well for the future of this place! He just wants to use us all for his big experiment! You can't let that happen! We have to end this! The fighting, the rebellion, all of it!" Crimson dropped the bat and held his hands up, "You don't have to listen to him! We can build a better future together!" Crimson took a step forward, piercing Neeko with a pleading gaze, "I'm willing to forgive and forget if you are."

Neeko stood there, the weapon shaking in his hand. He didn't know what to do. For the first time, he was torn. Even after everything...even after their fights and every time he'd hurt Crimson, the Chimchar was still willing to forgive him. Dr. Benson promised a better future for him, but from the looks of it, it seemed that following Crimson was the best way to reach that. However, he'd trusted his human master for so long...it was hard to tear away from his words.

Suddenly, Neeko felt the Master Blaster being yanked from him.

"Give me that!" Dr. Benson shouted, hoisting the device onto his shoulders and aiming at Crimson, "If you're going to be so worthless as to side with him, I'll finish him off for you!"

As he pointed the weapon at Crimson, he noticed a familiar figure emerging from the multiple Pokemon battles going on around them...a familiar green figure. Smiling wickedly, he turned the Master Blaster at the last second and fired at the green shape running towards them. Crimson watched the massive beam of energy shoot past him...

Right into Tag.

The Turtwig didn't even have time to react as the beam smashed into him. Enveloped by the energy, the blast itself had caused a massive bang, a sound that caused all the fighters around them to stop and notice what was going on. The pure power of the beam was distracting enough to do that.

The light faded as the beam had done it's work. The area of land the Master Blaster had engulfed was charred black, smoldering from the heat of the energy that hit it. In the center of this area of land was Tag. He was still.

"Tag!" Crimson cried as he ran over to him, practically sliding next to him. He could see wisps of smoke coming off of Tag as well, the indicator that the beam had indeed his his best friend. He felt his body, which was exceedingly warm, and started to gently shake it. "Come on, buddy, I need you!"

But Tag wasn't responsive. In fact, as Crimson realized suddenly, he wasn't even unconscious. His belly wasn't rising and falling. He wasn't breathing. A dull sense of dread ripped through Crimson's spine as he placed two fingers on Tag's neck. No pulse.

Tag was dead.

Crimson was numb. He couldn't move. He couldn't hear anything. He wasn't even sure he was breathing. Meanwhile, Dr. Benson stared at the Chimchar in triumph. He wanted this particular Pokemon to suffer. He'd been a thorn in his side since way back in the beginning. It felt great to have a little bit of retribution for it. Neeko could only look on in horror at what his master had done. Sarik, Pert, and Meryl stumbled out to see Tag's body lying limp. Pert had gasped and broke into tears first. Sarik and Meryl were close behind.

But Crimson didn't notice any of them. All he could feel was the heavy beating of his own heart.

Lub-dub.

He fell onto his knees.

Lub-dub.

He buried his face in Tag's belly.

Lub-dub.

He inhaled.

Lub-dub

He exhaled.

Lub-dub

All of a sudden, he started glowing. The other Pokemon who were watching him gasped and started to back up as the glowing around Crimson grew brighter and brighter. He was barely visible beneath it, then he was engulfed by it. The white light continue to spread, further and further outward, until suddenly it burst. The light was blinding as it washed over every Pokemon in that field. The few that had continued to fight during the Master Blaster blast stopped as the sudden light blinded them as well.

And just like that it was gone. Neeko, Dr. Benson, and the others blinked their temporary blindness away and turned back to the prone figure that was kneeling next to Tag's body. What lay in wait for them left everyone in awe.

Crimson was different now, that much was certain. His fur was now pure white, his tail emanating a white fire. Every part of him shimmered in light. The aura he had could be felt from everywhere across the battlefield. It was pure power.

Crimson got up, still looking at Tag's body as he did so. He turned around and looked at Dr. Benson for the first time. His eyes were a sparkling gold. His gaze was set and determined, yet it wasn't out of hate. Still, a single tear could be seen pouring out of his left eye, the only sign that he was upset. His body was shiny and his level of power could be denied. It was a wave of energy around him that no one had ever felt before.

Crimson had reached his ultimate form.

Crimson blinked the memory away. No, he thought. I can't let that happen again. I can't let anyone on my team die. He turned to the unconscious Meryl, his thoughts racing. I will avenge you, Meryl.

"Where was this?" Crimson asked Pert, a tone of deep seriousness in his voice. Pert glanced up at Crimson as he noticed his whole attitude had changed.

"In the swamp. But we already looked around and found nothing there," Pert told him. Crimson nodded in understanding as he looked towards Domingo, "You guys had a fight with a certain Sunrise Clan. I cleared your names for you." he said before walking over to the boulder, shifting it to retrieve the chest hidden within.

"Er...thanks..." Domingo noted the sudden seriousness Crimson had taken on, the calm patient Chimchar now moving with deliberation and purpose. Crimson opened the trunk and pulled out the Power Bat before turning to Tag and Sarik.

"Get your things," he said to them.

"Aren't we supposed to be incognito or something?" Sarik asked as he plucked out his own Power Scope.

"It doesn't matter now," Crimson replied, his gaze lingering on Tag meaningfully as the Turtwig put on his Power Boots, "Someone knows we're here and someone's trying to take us out of their picture. We need to eliminate them. Right now."

Just then, a suddenly massive beam shot out north of their position, heading above the clouds into space. Crimson's eyes narrowed as he recognized the beam. It was much bigger and presumably had more power behind it. But there was no denying it.

"Is that-" Sarik gaped, glancing up at the sky.

"A Master Blaster," Crimson confirmed it for him. "We need to move towards it. Now!"

Swooping in on a mighty black dragon, Touko was quick to join Radegast. "You, stay back. I got hurt like that once...errant Mach Punch. I got cute and didn't have my Pokémon where it could protect me during a battle, and paid the price. Anywhere else, and I wouldn't be standing here today. You head for the infirmary and get that wrapped up. I'll take the laser. Whatever the hell happened here, I'm going to find out. Anything that strong is a threat to this world and possibly worlds beyond, and nobody gets this powerful without having a plan to use that power. Let's go, Zekrom! For a world free of fear!"

And off Touko went, headlong into another adventure!

Tag was the first one to arrive on the northern portion of the island. With his Power Boots on, Tag could travel twice as fast as he normally would be able to. And he was already faster than anyone else in the group. Sarik took second, using the Power Scope to look around and find any signs of life, be it good or evil. Crimson was next, wielding the Power Bat in front of him ready to strike out. Pert and Dobro covered the rear, looking behind them for a potential ambush. Domingo had stayed behind to watch Meryl.

It was honestly a good team variety, Crimson realized as he kept an eye on Sarik to keep him from being surprise attacked while he was looking through the scope. The group had a lot of type variety. This meant a whole slew of attacks of all types could bombard anyone who dared to fight them. That's what Crimson wanted to prepare for. He knew the beam wasn't shot in the air randomly. It was a beacon...a beacon only their group understood the meaning of.

They reached the edge of the forest, walking into a small hilly area. The ground rose up slantwise the closer they got to the sea, which was churning. The wind ripped through the swaying grass. It wasn't cloudy, but the white puffy water particles above them sure did move faster thanks to the wind. The edge of the grass dropped off to a small beach far below, revealing itself as a cliff interface. It wasn't the most comforting heights to be seen.

Tag was running back to Crimson, "Nothing to report here!" he shouted over the wind.

Crimson nodded to him before looking at Sarik, who was eyeing the trees, "How's it looking around us?"

"Nobody," Sarik called back, giving the canopy of the forest one more scan before lowering the scope, "Whoever fired the Master Blaster is either really good at hiding or they fled after firing the shot."

"Nobody would run," Crimson said, glancing at Tag, "Not while holding a weapon like that. We were led here by it."

"But why?" Pert asked.

"I don't know yet, but it can't be good," Crimson shifted his gaze around. The fact that nobody was around yet made him anxious.

Dobro pointed at the sky, "What's that?" The others turned in that direction.

A black dot in the sky was slowly getting larger as it presumably got closer. Sarik pulled out the Power Scope and zoomed in on it, trying to figure out what it was. A moment later, he gasped, "It's a Zekrom!"

"A Zekrom?" Tag looked up at the dot with confusion, "Zekrom did this?"

"I don't think so," Sarik refuted as he continued to watch it, "This was a Master Blaster for sure. Zekrom wouldn't have the power to produce such a mighty blast."

That was one of the details that stuck out to Crimson. The Master Blaster didn't look nearly as big before when Neeko had used it on Crimson for more than one occasion. It was obviously improved and packed a massive punch. Crimson was sure it would kill any Pokemon it hit...any Pokemon. He was even sure a Pokemon like Zekrom and Yvelta weren't immune to it. The thought of such a powerful weapon existing frightened Crimson to the core. They had to destroy it...now.

"Wait, someone's riding the Zekrom!" Sarik pointed out as the Zekrom took it's landing to a position not terribly far south from their current position, "It's the one trainer lady with the brown hair and pink hat!"

"Touko..." Crimson recalled instantly, "Then that's definite proof it wasn't Zekrom. She's likely here to investigate, just like we are."

"Should I hide?" Dobro asked. Crimson turned to look at him with a thoughtful expression. Dobro and Touko didn't exactly start off on the right foot...

"No, I need you," Crimson told him, "You're the only Dark-Type besides myself when I want to be. If this is Neeko again, then he has an army of Psychic-Types behind him. You have the type advantage there. Touko will just have to put her differences aside."

"It's not just Touko," Sarik called out again, keeping an eye on the are where the Zekrom landed, "Radegast is there too."

"Excellent," Crimson noted, "The more the merrier. We could use a tiny army-"

Suddenly, a loud bark came from the forest, "Hey! Does that include us?!"

“Oh, this?” Radegast indicated the sling as he called back to Touko. “This is nothing!”

As he picked up the pace from a jog to a sprint, he watched the Zekrom take point in investigating the unusual sky-beam. He thought about why Suros didn’t like to fly. He never really minded it at-first, but now he couldn’t help but wonder if there was something about flying that the lazy Fletchling didn’t like.

Elder laughed and whooped after the massive Zekrom as the ghost hovered a couple of paces ahead of Radegast. The Haunter eventually caught up with the Zekrom once it landed. The hilly area broke off at a cliff side leading down to a beach head. The Haunter made note of the highly defensible position, and wondered why the user of that incredible beam did not set up any kind of fortification… At least, any obvious fortification. “I’ve never seen such a display of raw power before. Rage was actually impressed!” the Ghost said to the Zekrom more than anyone else.

“ONL-(LY MILDLY)” Rage had exited his pokeball just in time to deliver the retort. His retort was cut shockingly short when Crystal covered Rage’s mouth with a thick fin. “(WHO DARES!?!)” Rage’s muffled cry did not travel far.

“Ssh!” Crystal hissed. “We don’t know what caused that beam, but we don’t want to reveal our position." Rage’s eye twitched in annoyance, but he eventually nodded.

The normally lazy Suros even approached… though not without apprehension. “Was that what I thought it was…?”

“Suros?” Elder turned, as did the others. “Do you know something?”

The Operative’s eyes examined the Fletchling closely, as did Elder’s critical gaze. If Rage and Crystal were worried, they did a good job hiding that worry.

“Well, it could be an entirely unrelated beam of energy,” Suros reassured, “I thought…”

“Hey… no worries… dude,” Radegast panted as he approached with a slow walk, “Whatever we face… we face… together… man I’m so out of shape.”

Out of shape? Crystal thought, You ran non-stop from the human settlement.

Suros seemed to relax immediately at these words. Elder, however, did not seem convinced. “Kinda hard to say that when you’re wearing a sling. Unless you know something we don’t?” Elder grinned as he stole a glance at the Operative.

“That’s classified,” Radegast and the Operative robotically replied in unison, though Radegast’s free hand twitched ever-so slightly. “Anyway, Touko... what do you think? Rogue Legendary? Super weapon? Ancient prophecy- or wait, that's usually the same as a rogue legendary...”

It was then that Elder spotted the other wildlings. The Haunter waved, as calling out loud was deemed not an option. Elder approached the group. “Well-met,” He said when he was within ear-shot. He was close enough that his voice wouldn’t be too drowned-out by the rushing wind.
