A few inches short of six foot, this ex-soldier still carries with her many things from her war-ridden life: scars, memories, muscles, but most of all those traumatized memories. Her body has what is quite noticeably the most enhanced aspect of her figure, her rack, which was surgically augmented thanks to the money she earned while serving. Those mounds of flesh were her meal ticket for a while, years even, after the surgery. She used them to get food, favors, even a place to live. That was until she met her husband, of course.

Through an overdue reprieve from the chaos of her life, she came to know Toby Malari, a soldier of the Terran variety. At first, she just had a fling with him but soon enough that reached the status of what her people considered married. Still, that didn't stop her from sending him on his way once they got to the safe side of the invasion. Consumed by thoughts of their time together, she couldn't understand why she couldn't just let him go. She didn't realize that Toby had poisoned her. No longer would her life of cheap shows and thrills be enough. Only a life with him would satisfy her, and after a reunion that ended in a riot, he was exactly what she got. Now she spends her days working and looking after Toby, or rather, Toby looks after her.

Crystal Malari chuckled a bit while walking in at his side. "Now now. We have to eat real food first before the pie. Do they have pastas here? I'm in the mood for some noodles." When they were taken to a table, she pulled out Toby's chair for him before taking her own. "Also, I wanted to explain about the baby clothes...I don't know if it'll be a boy or girl, so I bought a set for each and have the gift receipt so we can return whichever set we don't need. Is that okay?"

Crystal Malari scanned over the menu for a minute. "You mind if I play copy cat and just have what you're having? My own plate, of course. Gods know I don't share any more. Not so sure I'll touch the cheese sticks, though. The garlic knots are calling my name...We really shouldn't waste the money getting separate appetizers, though, right?" Grimacing a bit, she shrugged slightly before leaning her head on her hand.

Crystal Malari leaned her head around the corner of the kitchen, shooting a bright smile to her husband. "It is? Ruby!" she declared, coming around with the baby in her arms, she continued to speak to the infant. "Daddy finished his project! Isn't that good, baby Ruby?"

So little Lamina reached into his pockets and retrieved his phone, dialing for the hospital.

She called and reserved a room, something she was admittedly not used to doing. Even more strange, however, was the second request. She looked for a Crystal Malari, and gave the number a call. She wondered if she should introduce herself; many knew who she was, and Crystal might not think too nicely of her.

The phone rang... should there be a response, Lamina's young voice would come through the other end. "Um... hello? Is this Crystal Malari?"

Crys tried to relax as she hit the halfway point in the sixth session of her treatment. The pod she was lying in was that pristine white one would come to expect with the sanity of a hospital, but its sheen and glow was more cobalt - or perhaps that was just the mood they wanted to set. They wanted her to relax, to close her eyes and sink into the subconscious mode, something that was increasingly difficult for this mother.

Whatever success she had had at drifting off, was soon ruined by the buzzing of the phone she had left in a bag on the counter beside her. With a grunt, Crystal raised off the plank of the pod and blindly groped for the object, only to jerk at the IV transfusion in her inner left elbow. "Gah!...Screw it." she muttered, adjusting the dark visor over her eyes as she laid down again and gently laid her pierced arm on the rest. She let it go to voicemail as she concentrated on the treatment again.
