Daigo as a child was raised by his parents for most of his toddlerhood along with his brother and sister. Unfortunately, by the time Daigo was close to reaching his teen years, his parents seemingly vanished without a trace. Daigo was left alone with his brother and sister deep within the Forest of Azure Lake. Soon, the royal Torioru family stumbled upon them while on a fishing trip and took them in. However, Chiyo ran away, leaving only Chuji and Daigo. While in the care of the Torioru family, Daigo was brought up in a very strict environment, and was occasionally given leeway by Reina and her mother. Doza envied the attention Daigo was getting, which sparked their rivalry. Daigo noticed this, and plotted for Doza to to disappear out of his life. He did this by setting him up to be kidnapped. However, Daigo knew nothing of who actually kidnapped him. Doza later returned home with mysterious markings on him, blaming Daigo for it. Udan remained oblivious as to what actually happened, but decided to train them both and have them fight each other when he thought they had reached their prime.
As the Tagano Martial Arts Tournament arrived, Udan scheduled the battle between the two teenagers, Daigo and Doza to finally settle their problems. The battle attracted much attention since it was the first ever battle between two children in the tournament. The two proved to be unstoppable during the tournament, and at the final battle, Doza emerged victorious. Daigo was left unconscious and Doza's win against him fueled the rivalry even more.
Still years after his embarrassing defeat at the Tagano Martial Arts Tournament, Daigo was still having difficulty accepting his loss. Daigo wanted to find a way to discipline himself, and he found it one day while Udan was giving a speech to the Tobal Military Elite Division. He figured that the military would give him help he needed to surpass Doza, and anyone else who stood in his way. Daigo enlisted the next day.
After years of being in the military, Daigo was finally promoted to be in the Tobal Elite Division. With this, Daigo was granted access to many things within the Tobal kingdom. However, he discovered many corrupt and shady things as well.
Daigo had long been aware of the World Tobal Martial Arts Tournament, but never entered. However, after hearing all the recent hype about the 91st tournament, he decided to enter. It was also being hosted by Udan himself. Daigo had hoped for Doza to enter as well for them to have a proper rematch. During the tournament, Daigo had lost to Udan's bodyguard, Mufu, the toad warrior. Daigo was devastated with this loss as well, and returned to the Tobal Elite HQ. He trained and practiced a lot more vigorously than before. Shortly after the defeat of Udan by Gren in the tournament, Daigo had gotten word that the Kutz Foundation was secretly employing Tobal Elite Soldiers for its army. Daigo refused to join, and was demoted shortly after.
Daigo planned to infiltrate the Tobal Elite and its operations within the Kutz Foundation. Daigo found nothing alarming and decided to give up on his search. However, Daigo retained a heavy grudge with the general of the Tobal Elite: Takeshi. Daigo still felt that Takeshi was up to something shady.
After another year of training, Daigo had heard that the 92nd World Tournament would be held and hosted by Emperor Udan and his son, Prince Doza. The person to defeat Prince Doza, will get a chance to fight Udan himself. Daigo signed up and noticed that Takeshi would be participating also. This motivated him even more to win the tournament altogether. Daigo later went to go visit Gren Kutz at the quarry, to discuss what was actually going on within the Tobal Elite. Gren told him that he was planning to take over the planet Tobal by one way or another, and knocked Daigo unconscious afterwards. To make sure that Daigo would not get in his way during the tournament, Gren triggered the mine collapse in the quarry. Daigo was slated to be dead. However, his broken body was discovered by a company called Cohesion Systems, and was taken to their laboratories. At the tournament, Chuji was to face him, however Daigo's absence caused him to win the round by default. In the final round, where Gren was supposed to battle Mufu, Udan was suddenly killed, freezing the entire tournament. This angered Gren, since Udan was not supposed to die.
After Udan's assassination, Daigo's body was reconstructed, using the genetic data that was decoded from his DNA. Daigo was still feeling extremely weak, so he gave the corporation permission to do more testing on him. Later, Daigo was reconstructed again, this time with a mysterious crimson glow in his eye. Unknown to him, or Cohesion, they simply drew it off as nothing significant. However, Daigo's strength, vitality, stamina, and other abilities increased drastically. He also felt very different than before. Daigo also knew about Udan's death, and knew exactly who to blame for it. Daigo traveled up to the rooftop of the Tobal Elite HQ, and confronted Takeshi and his men, with a single pistol. After killing all Takeshi's men, Daigo engaged in an intense battle with him and eventually killed him as well. After the battle, Daigo disposed of his military uniform, never to return to the military again. Daigo later went to confront Gren in his office and defeated him in a short battle, taking the Kutz Foundation and merging it with Cohesion. Daigo later became the CEO of the large corporation, and allowed for more research to be done on him.
After months of making Cohesion Tech a well-known organization, Daigo began to wonder if Doza had filled in the spot of emperor. Daigo believed that he was very well worthy of being emperor since he was the one who avenged the man. However, Doza thought otherwise. Since Doza was his real son, he would automatically become the next emperor. Their argument would continue to go on for weeks, until Doza had announced the 93rd World Tournament. Daigo believed that a tournament would not be the best thing to decide on being an emperor, but Doza ignored him. Angered by Doza's actions, Daigo returned to his office to think of something to prevent the tournament from happening. Daigo later made a worldwide announcement of the first ever World Tag Team Tournament being sponsored by Cohesion Tech. Daigo planned for the tournament to draw the contestants away from the 93rd World Tournament.
With the final days of tournament sign-ups coming to an end, the World Tag Team Tournament had garnered more participants than Daigo had anticipated, while the 93rd World Martial Arts Tournament had only one participant which was Doza himself. Daigo teamed up with his younger brother Chuji, while Doza teamed up with Gren. The two teams blaze through the tournament contestants and eventually end up fighting each other in the final round. The team of Gren and Doza emerge victorious, only to a surprise announcement by Asisaka Borealis, Daigo's grandfather. Apparently, Asisaka had assumed himself as the new emperor of Tobal as the World Tag Team Tournament took place, thanks to Daigo. Doza felt that Daigo had something to do with Asisaka taking the position, though Daigo knew nothing about it. Daigo vowed never to let Asisaka rule Tobal again after hearing this announcement.
After a few weeks of ruling Tobal, Asisaka manages to get the entire planet to fall to pieces. Almost every nation is going to war while Asisaka sits back on the throne, watching and waiting for someone to challenge his authority. In fact, Asisaka's rule has become similar to that of a dictatorship, and forces everyone on the planet to worship him as if he were a god. Daigo is instantly fed up with all of the disorder on the planet, and launches an attack on Asisaka's kingdom. Asisaka anticipated this would happen, and answered back with a large fleet of airships called the Chrome Gadget. Daigo and his army take down the Chrome Gadget, and confront Asisaka on the ground. Later, Asisaka announces the 93rd World Tournament.
With the tournament nearing, Daigo and Asisaka are ready to face each other, despite the odds of one of them losing before they can even face each other in the collisseum. However, Daigo makes it through the tournament, even defeating Doza in the process, motivating him even more to defeat Asisaka. After a lengthy battle, Daigo defeats Asisaka in the final round and takes the position of emperor. Everyone is hopeful that Daigo will be the one to turn the planet around for the better.
Now that Daigo has taken the throne of emperor finally, everyone expects him to bring Tobal back together, and unite it as it was when Udan was alive. Daigo promises this during his reign, however, he plans to do things differently. Daigo uses the technology from Cohesion to upgrade the Tobal Military to super soldiers accompanied by androids and robots, while subtly solving all conflicts on the planet. As it may appear that Daigo is doing good on the outside, there is much evil being done within the kingdom of Tobal.
After a few months of being in power, Daigo's hunger for more power grows out of control to the point where he wants to conquer a nearby planet. Reina tries again to talk him out of it, but fails once more. With that, Tobal goes to war with the most formidable army in the galaxy, the Astralis. During the war, Daigo announces the date of the 94th World Tournament.
With the tournament taking place at the same time as the war, it proves very difficult for any stability to progress the tournament as usual. Thus, it being the first time the tournament is not solely being held in the Grand Collisseum. However, for some, it gave quite an edge, like Chuji. Chuji managed to emerge victorious against Daigo in the final round of the tournament, taking Daigo's spot as the emperor of Tobal. Daigo goes about this peacefully, and travels to the newly conquered planet of Astralis. There, Daigo intimidates the planet's inhabitants by destroying their ‘living god’, Django. By doing this, he assumes that he will be the next god for them to worship.
After the defeat of Django, Daigo set his sights on establishing colonies for Tobalians to live on Astralis while Chuji got accustomed to his new kingdom. Things seemed to be going well on both planets, however, Chuji began pushing towards militarization, which put the Astralis Republic a little on edge. While setting up another branch of Cohesion on Astralis, Daigo and his scientists discovered something that may lead them to clues about Daigo's genetic history that dates back all the way to his great (x4) grandfather. Around this time, Chuji has announced the 95th World Tournament. However, one soul within the Cohesion Military has set up a rebellion against Daigo, and plans to take over the corporation.
While the tournament is taking place, Daigo senses something odd brewing up behind his back within the Cohesion Corporation. Daigo drops out of the tournament and heads back to the main HQ. After he arrives there, he is then confronted on the rooftop by his head general of the army, Kobe Minatara. The two fight in an intense battle, with Kobe emerging as the victor. Using his first act as the new CEO of Cohesion Tech, Kobe exiles Daigo to the lost mountains of Nagase. Around this time, Chuji emerges as the winner of the 95th World Tournament, the second time in a row.
In the mountains, Daigo regains consciousness, remembering all that had happened to him during the last tournament. Angrily, he traveled all around the mountains searching for a way to get back to the main lands of Tobal. He eventually meets Shourou Kobayashi, a contestant he saw frequently participating in the recent World Tournaments. Apparently, he tells him that it’s been some time since Daigo lost the Cohesion Corp to Kobe. Embarrassed, Daigo vows to slay him and everyone else who betrayed him. Thinking Daigo would need some assistance, Shourou offered to train him.
After many months of training with Shourou, Daigo returned to the mainlands, feeling a lot more focused than he ever had been before. To make sure of this, he entered 12 minor tournaments and won them all, getting him ready for his coup d’état to take back his organization. Daigo gains some news across the planet, and sparks an interest in Kobe, causing him to announce the 2nd World Tag Team Tournament. Thinking that this would be a great opportunity to take back his company, Daigo signs up, along with Shourou.
Daigo and Shourou swiftly defeat all the other teams taking part in the tournament, eventually leading up to the final round which would be Kobe and Yugo. Daigo and Shourou defeat them both in the tournament, but Daigo isn't satisfied at all. Daigo follows Kobe back up to the Cohesion HQ and challenges him to a 'real duel' for the company. Kobe teams up with two of his bodyguards, Yugo, and Lee. Daigo struggles against the three of them, until Chuji arrives to his rescue. The two brothers then turn the tables around and defeat all three, with the battle ending in a way not expected. At the end of the battle, the glass floor breaks, causing the 5 fighters to fall through all the way down to the basement. Daigo miraculously survives the fall, and carries Chuji to safety where he can be treated for his near-fatal injuries.
After taking back his rightful place in Cohesion Systems, Daigo became more focused on finding out about the Molmoran Stone the scientists had located. They believed that it may have something to do with Daigo's genetic history. Daigo returned to Astralis to get it and bring it back to Tobal, however it was gone. Daigo gave up looking for it and returned home. With Chuji still immobilized, the kingdom was unguarded, and unprotected. Thus, someone secretly announced the 96th World Tournament, and closed off the gates to the kingdom of Tobal. Determined to find out what was going on, Daigo signed up for the tournament.
After defeating his father at the end of the 96th World Tournament, Daigo began to experience a wave of strange events beginning to take place, mostly concerning himself. He had always been able to control the inner demon within him, but 'it' as he calls it is trying to break free from the barrier of Daigo's body. Daigo was not going to let this happen, and began to look more into what the realm of Gokekka is. He also used the Cohesion Systems to conduct more research on what this demon really is. Daigo suddenly announced the 97th World Tournament to help cover what his plans really is.
