Let the flames rise...

0 · 45 views · located in Twisted Path

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by xTheSmokex

Description

Damion is clad is some of his evil kingdom's finest magical armor. Every armor piece is present and trimmed with gold. Detailing his armor are his clothes underneath that protrude from his sleeves, shoulders, and other unarmored spots. They are black, puffed out a bit, and striped with a dark red color, also trimmed with gold embroidery. He wears massive, black-armored gauntlets and matching boots, a large chest piece that covers his back as well and mighty shoulder-guards. He bears no weapons, relying only on his fearsome, flaming abilities. Damion's face is completely hidden by a plain, clay, white mask - there are only holes for his burgundy eyes, an outward curve to fit his nose, and a small slit in between the lips to breathe out of. Atop his head is a tall, intimidating helmet that matches the rest of his armor; thick tufts of red, yellow, and orange hair emerge from the top of this helmet and fall backwards, meeting with his own long, thick black hair that slips out behind his helmet. The look is completed behind him with a dark, furry cloak.

He is slightly over six feet tall and weighs in at about two hundred pounds.

So begins...

Somewhere off in the distance, between the horned horse and the village in ruins, he stood on the bough of a tree. It was slowly roasting beneath his armored feet, the wood cracking profusely, glowing embers slowly falling to the ground beneath him.

His clothes were dark and elegant, striped with a dark red and trimmed with gold. His armor that partially covered his clothes was heavy and enchanted with dark, protective magics. His arms were folded, and the plain, white clay mask that had two holes for his burgundy eyes, an outward curve for his nose, and a slit between the molded lips, was facing the direction of the unfortunate trio.

The tall, intimidating helmet atop his head had thick tufts of dark orange, yellow, and red hair coming out of the cone on top and cascaded down behind him, meeting with his own long, black hair the slipped from beneath his helmet. Behind him was a dark, furry cloak that seemed to complete his look of evil royalty.

He knew she was behind him somewhere, he had heard her as she had retreated to him. "A unicorn..." he said in his deep, unimpressed voice. His slow manner of speaking gave off an aura of condescension. "You let a unicorn get the best of you." Damion let a small, sarcastic laugh escape his lips. "If I didn't know any better, I might have called you a weakling. I practically served them to you on a platter. But I know you're not...you've simply...disappointed me. Never let it happen again...you know I hate being disappointed."

They were painful words, what the unicorn was saying, but Mason realized that what had happened, happened. He had to remind himself again and again that there was nothing that they could do for them now. Instead, the main goal was to help each other, and he wrapped his arms just a little tighter around Ellie, planting a small kiss on the top of her head.

"I can't help but feel bad...I wish we could have done something," Mason said quietly. "Correct me if I'm wrong Cavis, but things are only going to get harder from here, aren't they?"

---

Damion leaned against the trunk of the tree, letting one foot swing back behind the other. "Don't you underestimate her...we want her alive for a reason, and it's not just the box."

He grinned under his mask and followed up with, "You better watch out; as soon as she gets her abilities in check, you won't be too much of a worry on their minds anymore. Is the village taken care of?"

Mason nodded and replied, "Right." The advice was too true, and he knew it was in his best interest to follow it, but what about that last part about the rightful king? He shook those thoughts away and decided to focus on what had happened. That woman, Ellie's...twin, had him completely incapacitated - there had to be a way to fight it.

It was important not to live in the past too much, he realized, but Mason was definitely a fan of learning from mistakes. As the cold began to dig in a bit deeper, he let his warm, grand cloak slip around the both of them.

If this was really war, as Cavis had said, then that meant he would have to do his best to help fight in it - though, that might have been a bit easier if he knew just exactly who or what he was fighting, and what for.

---

"Well, I'm only content that you managed to accomplish something today," he replied with a careless snort. Yes, it had been his idea to send the Shadow after the two in the other plane, but he hadn't been counting on the smoke-bender to be so strong already.

"They're heading into the Cold, the unicorn is going to try to keep us at bay there. Besides the...unwelcoming weather, remind me what other assets they have there." An ancient oak right next to them suddenly burst into flames and began to crumble downward, eventually creating a slope.

Damion casually stepped from his bough - which finally fell from his original tree - to the fallen one and strolled down to the ground below.

He was silent for a few moments, contemplating her words, thinking of how else to approach it. "That's a good idea, I knew I've kept you around for good reason." Damion turned to look at her with his menacing burgundy eyes and laughed a bit, "Sure isn't for your looks," he finished, despite her obvious beauty.

He began to slowly walk around in the forest, letting his fingers graze the trees, dark burns marks and cinders appearing wherever he touched them. "I do suppose a meeting with the boy would be in good taste. He is smitten with that girl though, it will be no easy task to rid him of her."

He suddenly turned to face her and leaned romantically on the nearest tree, his arms high above his head, "Of course...if there was someone else who happened to catch his fancy, along with the ever-persuasive terms of his dearest brother...we just might have ourselves an easy day at the market."

"I suppose we have much to think about," he replied simply, slowly falling into a crouched position, his full weight resting on his tippy-toes. Damion began to clear the leaves and draw a crude map in the dirt, "Call the Shadow, have it follow the three of them, preferably discretely."

He drew a bend in the path that the three of them were likely to follow, "Meanwhile, I will gather some orcs. I need to see if my darling brother is actually ready enough for what we have in store for him." He marked a spot on the map where the ambush would occur, "I also need you to bring in some kind of creature to challenge the girl, bring out her abilities, I'll watch the whole thing through the Shadow and busy myself with other...plans."

He stood back up again and took her chin in his forefinger and thumb, "Events that we have been waiting for are finally occurring, it seems all of our hard work has paid off. Soon Jaida...with our power combined with theirs...we will be unstoppable. Once we have them under our control and the box, well...we can then finally strive to achieve immortality and rule any and all planes that we so desire. Soon."

Damion grinned beneath his mask as she changed and nodded to her as she waved at him. He watched as she left and then looked back at his map, studying it a moment before kicking it out of existence. In a brilliant flash of intense flame, he was gone, only the nearby burnt trees giving away that he was ever there.
