Danica Angelus

Nieght's sister, and co-worker though she has been on a hiatus for very discreet reasons. What could those be and where does her brother work exactly?

0 · 637 views · located in Canti's Diner

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Prose, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Stats//...
Name: Danica Grace Angelus
Nickname: Dani
Age: She has been nineteen for two years now. (Technically twenty-one years old).
Race: Spaniard/German/Italian/Caucasian.
Species: Homo Immortalis.

Height: 5'4"
Weight: 122lbs.
Body Structure: Athletic/Tone.

Classification: "Dangerous to the public". Subjective. There has been no proof thus far that Danica does pose a threat to humanity, the supernatural, or other beings, etc. But because there has not been any proof so far, the woman is highly watched over by her personal guardian, Nieght Angelus. Possible threats to any and all lifeforms is not tolerable. Any signs of becoming feral, Danica would be detained permanently or executed.
Main Occupation: Works as an intelligence operative for a major paranormal investigative corporation, P.P.I. Corps. (Private Paranormal Investigation Corporation).
Minor Occupation: Since being on her hiatus, Danica generally will do the necessary paper work for her brother concerning any investigations. Thus, it brings her down from an Agent to a part-time Secretary.
Style of Choice: Generally business casual with tailored black pants and a white button up, collared shirt. Sometimes though, the woman will wear something more "feminine" and "fashionable", though it would take a particularly good mood or a special event.
Languages: English Basic.

Intelligence: Danica has the knowledge of quite a few subjects, though none of it in-depth aside from when it comes to the paranormal. As her job was to collect intelligence of the different species and races of supernatural creatures, Danica is quite adept as identifying and classifying those beings.
Power: She has not developed any significant abilities thus far. Though studies have revealed that the woman does not age any longer, does not have the need to eat or sleep. There is the need for her to feed. Danica's method includes draining the life energy from beings that surround her including but not limited to: mortals, immortals, magical beings, beasts, paranormal anomalies, and flora.
Updated: As she has been exposed to more and more stress, Danica now exudes a thick pheromone into the air which can attract those that are too near her. This is passive and she does not realize this power yet.
Charisma: In this regard, Danica is just the normal "teenager". She has the level of high vocabulary, but decides to not use it unless the occasion calls for such an action. She is, however, easily personable and approachable in her charisma.
Dexterity: Being a Homo Immortalis, the woman is rather normal and so her reflexes do not yet exceed those of a normal human mortal. Even when she was mortal, Danica never was the most graceful of her class.
Agility: Danica is flexible to a degree, though she can't do the splits nor put her foot behind her head. It would be placed a just above average for a female.
Magic: So far there have been no developments of magical abilities, though the creature who caused this change in Danica held such powers. Assumption would be made that it perhaps takes time or high-stress levels to develop these in Danica.

Current Location: Currently she has been spotted more commonly at Gambit's bar than anywhere else in the Multiverse. Generally she does not adventure outside of Wing City.
Current Home: 6664 Sol Avenue, Wing City.
Companions: Her only friend thus far that has been made is Johnny Izumi of the organization named The Invictus. Another acquaintance was made from a man named Jahan, though friendship status has not been achieved. Stryfe, or also known as Fatin, has also been acquainted to Danica, and she hopes to create a more personable level with this woman who also belongs with the Invictus. Miles the bartender, quite the OCD man is her newest acquaintance.
Relationship Status: Currently not dating, or married. Single.
Orientation: Straight.

Disabilities: Danica does not have any disabilities, though her brother and she do refer to her current state as a disability. They prefer that no one know of the change or that Danica is not %100 human.

The man staring at her like that was a little discomforting. Danica shifted in her chair and placed the pack of cigarettes on the counter for later, perhaps. It all depended on her mood which seemed to have paradigm shifts all too often these days.

“You’re not one of those chivalrous men, are you? See a damsel in distress and you have to go and save her type,” Danica asked while giving him a look that pleaded to him. She desperately hoped not.

Danica’s lips parted to make a little ‘ah’ sound as Theodore explained. Relief washed over the woman. Her shoulders sagged a fraction which made Danica realize that she had tensed up for some unknown reason. Her subconscious always had a knack for being suspicious of anyone that it did not recognize—still could not accept that Gabrien was dead.

“Danica Angelus,” the woman said taking his hand and giving it a firm shake, “You can just call me Dani if you like.” Dani was a name reserved for friends. It had been far too long since someone used the nickname as Danica no longer had people around her that could be considered close to her.

“It’s a uh …” Danica reached up and scratched her head with a small laugh, “It’s a long story. Let’s just say that the city is harder on some people than others, yeah?” She was not about to release her life story on someone she had just met. It was not because Danica was a private person about most things, but because it was a sad story.

“And I don’t really have a sweet tooth. I just got lost in my thoughts I guess,” Danica said, blushing slightly in embarrassment for ruining her coffee. She picked up the mug and nodded to the waitress in order to get a fresh cup.

‘Smoking kills’. If only, Danica found herself thinking before she attempted a smile at the man. “Alright, I will bite. You can buy my next coffee but this is definitely not a date or whatever kids call it these days. I’m not looking to be picked up in some …” Danica’s words trailed off as she looked around the diner. It was a little drab according to her tastes. It was, all in all, a place that she rather not meet a man for romantic interests.

The waitress by then had come over and replaced Danica’s cup of coffee. “Anyway,” the woman said while concentrating on putting creamer in her drink, eyebrows raised up on her forehead, “You said you have a joke for me?” For just a second, Danica smirked while looking up through the fringe of her bangs at Theo. It was a small glimpse of the woman she used to be: smart, funny, witty, and mischievous, untamable.

But that all died away when she cleared her throat and Danica raised her coffee to sip from it.

Someone who didn’t beat around the bush. That ideal was refreshing but it was yet to be proven so far. Danica would just have to wait and see if the man’s words were trustworthy or not. She could only shrug a thin shoulder at him as Theo explained his position on forwardness.

“The difference between a piano and a fish,” Danica repeated to herself, pausing to take another sip from her coffee. She really had no clue and it almost seemed as if she should know the answer. There were only so many traits to a piano and a fish.

“I’m … not sure,” Danica admitted after minute of thought and waited for the ‘punchline’.

“That sounds like something you’d get from a popsicle stick, honestly,” Danica state while showing Theo a deadpan expression. There was nothing funny about that joke other than how extremely lame it had been. But, the woman couldn’t help herself, she laughed eventually. It took her a few seconds, but Danica laughed for the first time in a very long time.

Danica reached up and brushed her unruly bangs from her eyes before shaking her head. The mug was raised to her lips and she sipped on the bitter drink once more. It tasted awful. She wanted coffee from Gambit’s Bar made by Lolita Cruz but that wasn’t in the agenda for today. Not at all.

“Musician, huh? What kind of music are you into or what do you play? I’m more used to meeting vampires, marines, and really strange hybrids around here. I can’t say I’ve met a normal person until just now.” Danica sat back into her seat, running her fingers along the outside of the warm mug, while just watching Theo.

“I don’t know who Robert Pattinson is,” Danica admitted while sinking back into her chair. The woman appeared slightly more relaxed than when she first met Theo and a bit more content. “I haven’t exactly been around for the past couple of years because of … things, I guess you could call them. Nothing special that needs to be remembered.”

The woman shrugged a thin shoulder and seemed to slip back into the sad lady that had been sitting alone before. Danica fought the depression off by plucking out her own cigarette and lighting it right in the diner. The waitress didn’t complain and neither would Theo.

“So, why come and talk to a strange woman like me, sitting all alone. It’s not really safe to just start up conversation with someone you don’t know. Wing City is a dangerous place for humans.”

“Pretty, huh?” Danica couldn’t help but to smile at that. It wasn’t because she was flattered either but because of other reasons that had flocked to her mind. “The last time someone called me pretty, I got into a world of trouble,” Danica said before a small pause and then she continued, “But I wouldn’t have traded that experience for anything in the world.”

“Well when you fall in love with someone even though you’re not supposed to most people wouldn’t want to change that. At least, not me. John, ha … yeah, he was a good man but a liar nonetheless,” Danica mused before taking a small drag on her cigarette. She coughed lightly from her inexperience with smoking and her cheeks flushed.

“Anyway,” Danica started billowing toxic air from between her lips, “if I could go back and do it all over again, I would. Maybe, I don’t know. Things have changed. I have changed. I haven’t even seen him since I woke back up so I doubt he even wants to see me again. What does it matter. I survived something horrible so I guess it’s time for a new start. That’s how these things go, right?”

“Mhm.” Danica didn’t know whether to dump her history on this man or not. But then she came to the realization that she had nothing better to do. There was also the realization that after parting ways from the diner, she’d never see Theo again. Wing City was a very large place.

“I died. That’s the simplest way to put it. Well, not really ‘died’ persay as I am right here, in front of you, but I was destroyed. After that, pieces of my body were collected and I was allowed to regenerate. I’m not human,” Danica said, watching the man closely and with an arched brow.

“Immortal, yes, but not some demigod or goddess or whatever they have running around this place. No, I am just a result of a strange occurrence. The Corporation still hasn’t’ found out how I was made but they call me a ‘homo immortalis’ for all intensive purposes,” Danica said before making a slight grimace.

“But that’s all boring. I really don’t like talking about myself and that’s all we’ve been doing. I’m not all that exciting.”

“It’s Wing City. No one cares or they just pretend to care so they have justification to attack someone else,” Danica said. It was the truth too as she had seen it. Wing City was a beautiful place to live but it still held its grotesqueries .

“Besides, you seem like the type to break a rule here and there anyway,” the woman said, leaning forward on the table and showing a small smirk. Danica put her cigarette between her lips and just let it rest there. There was something comforting about it just being there, not so much smoking it. Kazen used to smoke, maybe he still did. It reminded her of him, the crazy man.
