It wasn't just the Vengeant, and the NPA watching Liam and his little operation. Through the shuffling of a newspaper, a young male watched the whole thing go down inconspicuously from a bus bench situated across the street from everything that was going on.

Dark sunglasses obscured most of the man's face as he listened in on the radio waves from the phone call between Seamus and Liam. The strange man afforded a small chuckle, that was until his link went completely silent, interrupted by an incoming transmission.

"Bravo One, Liam Casey, Find and delete. This one's from the top."

The Man didn't react to the incoming message, he simply put the newspaper away, slowly and methodically folding it and setting it aside. He checked his watch for the time, and then prepared a concealed wrist mounted spring loaded syringe. A special weapon designed to inject a potent, but slow release toxin into the blood. The syringe was activated by pressure, which meant all it took was a bump to deliver the potent chemical.

He spotted Liam, and slowly stood up from his bench, walking on the other side of the street, and then stepping down on the asphalt to cross it. It was to be a clean op, an innocent bump, and then the Agent could exfil and disappear. He'd be half way back to Caprica City by the time Liam even got sick.

Rich looked at the men as they shouted at him, "Yea' He is a police dog a retired one but I'm not a fucking pig." Richard said but he was glad for Charlies move that saved him. Taking the confusion he turn the corner and hurried down a side street planning to circle back around the block back to his car.

Once in his car he drove back onto main street and parked on the opposite side of the street about half a block from the table where Casey was seated. He reached over to the passenger seat and tossed his jacket glasses and cap and changed to a lighter coat. He picked up a magazine and acted as if he was waiting to pick up a friend from an apartment.

"Go, lady, we're busy." One of the irate Irishmen said to Charlie, "Yeah. Sorry. Again. Sorry." Charlie apologized, giving off the appearance of someone who didn't want trouble or apologized way too much to not be a Jehovah's Witness.

As she walked off the Irishmen turned to find Rich and his dog, they were nowhere to be found. "Ah, fuck. That wanker fucked off." The first said, "Aye, hopefully he says fucked off, yeah?" The second said, the two men going back to protecting their slice of the corner.

"Oi, lass!" Liam called out to Charlie, prompting the woman to stop in place. "Fuck." She muttered, "Come 'ere, darlin'. I wanna talk ta' ya'." The Irishman said to her, Charlotte rolled her eyes but still turned to face the man. She gave him a nervous smile as she began down the street towards him.

It was real nervousness.

She couldn't watch every angle, and her backup might not respond quickly enough if something went wrong. She could only hope they were being extra-attentive today.

"Yes?" She asked, "Take a seat." Liam said, pushing one of his friends from where he sat. "Hey!" The man said, watching as Charlie took his seat. "What's this about?" Charlie asked, "I like you." Liam said, "I went ta' London once, found out I have a thing for... dark meat, darlin'."

The sleaze pouring off of Liam was sickening to Charlotte.

"Oh... I..."

"You ain't gotta say nothin', lass. I'll do all da' talkin'. You see, I'm kind of a big deal. Me whole family is a big deal. We're gonna own this city, I'll be able ta' buy ya' anything ya' want." Liam said, beginning his opening argument. "I'll buy you a house, shoes, a house for your shoes."

As Liam spoke a hooded man stepped out of the alley behind him, the people seemed to pay him no mind. The hood he wore cast an abnormal shadow of his face, keeping it obscured from anyone who wanted to get a peek at what the man really looked like.

He stepped out into the street, walking quickly to approach the man in the shades. There was something odd about the hooded man, something dangerous, something that would make the most astute feel uneasy. It was almost like he didn't belong in Wing City amongst a bunch of Irish gangsters selling drugs.

The man in the hood lunged towards Daniel when he got close, attempting to grab him or wrap his arms around the man before he had the chance to get closer to Liam or draw any weapons.

If successful the two men would disappear into thin air.

Events unfolded rather quickly. The cop with the dog vanished, taking the moment of distraction afforded to him by the female officer spilling coffee all over one of Casey's men. Smooth move for her. However, as she walked away, she was called back by Liam himself, who began to shamelessly list the reasons why the woman should just slip off her panties right then and there. It seemed rather tactless for the Irish bastard.

The look on the poor lady's face almost made Thanos laugh, had she not been among the sludge of the city. In better circumstances, he would have walked up and blown the guy's face back through his skull and saved her from the agony of talking to Casey's slimy ass. However, he knew when going in guns blazing was a bad idea, and right now was one of those moments.

Across the way, he noticed a man in a suit stand from his place at a bus stop bench. He had been watching the gangsters as well; seemed like the entirety of Wing City was in on this little play going on. He stood, taking a moment to ready himself before crossing the road towards the group of mobsters. If this guy was going to just walk over there and try and kill Liam Casey in broad daylight, he was suicidal.

However, he didn't seem to be carrying a gun. He was clearly going over to where the Irish had gathered, and he was close enough by now to draw a gun and put a few in Casey before attempting to escape. Thanos surmised the guy would be gunned down in the blink of an eye anyway, but that's the nature of the criminal beast: eliminate the competition by any means necessary. But this guy just kept walking; strolling, really, as if he were just casually going to pass through a gathering of Irish gangsters in the middle of a drug sling.

Whatever this guy's plan was, it would be cut short by the hooded man stepping from the shadows. He showed up as if an apparition appearing from nowhere, making a move to apprehend the man in the suit. This new player had honestly taken Thanos by surprise. However, he continued to watch as the hooded man made his attempt at halting the suit's advance.

The Agent quickly and suddenly slowed his approach just as the hooded man stepped from the alleyway. it all seemed to slow down for the Agent as the Hooded man briskly walked towards him.

Of course, the LDA was smarter than to send an agent alone without backup, and Agent Barrett watched the entire scene unfold through the scope of a high powered beam rifle, leading the hooded man through the crosshairs as he closed the distance to the other agent.

"Bravo One, You're compromised, move to contingency."

As the Hooded man walked through the street, cross-hairs flitted onto him through the scope of an adjacent skyscraper. Malcolm Barrett was waiting, timing the shot perfectly through the beam rifle.

Barrett pulled the trigger, as precision sights drawn on the hooded man's forehead. Or where the forehead would be through the hood.

The man would be within sex feet of Johnson, priming to lunge towards him when out of nowhere a brilliant pink streak of light seared towards him, the small but powerful beam designed to pierce shields and armor, and should it make it's mark, likely bore a one inch hole through the hooded man's head, flash vaporizing any flesh near the beam's impact. Which meant it was likely most of the head would be completely obliterated from the shot. Something akin to a JFK style shot.

Thompson dove back and away from the hooded man, sliding across the hood of a parked sedan and withdrawing a Type 23 Collapsible PDW, a small Disruptor SMG type weapon that was favored for it's high rate of fire, and easy concealability. In one swift move he landed on the other side of the car, bringing the weapon up towards a group of gangsters and pressing the trigger. He brought the weapon from side to side in a sweeping motion, sending disruptor bolts in all directions.

The weapon began to rapidly bark it's report, sounding like a rapid chatter as a flurry of small, and brilliant blue bolts of light seared towards the Gangsters, liquefying concrete, body armor, and vaporizing flesh in a bloody mist of smoke, and steam.

However, the Irishmen would be afforded a brief break in the flurry of disruptor fire, as the small PDWs rapidly tended to overheat. Thompson was forced to hold fire for a few moments as the PDW began to cool down.

---

Down the street a stolen OmniCorp cargo van started it's engines, Agent Duram tapped his earpiece twice. "Barrett, Thompson, this is Duram. Neutralize the target and prepare for exfil."

Both Agents nodded their acknowledgement, and Barrett took advantage of the ensuing chaos to level his sights on Liam himself, and then he took the shot.

Another searing beam of pink light, this time heading straight for Liam.

Richard watched from the car keeping an eye on Charlie when suddenly it seemed like all hell broke loose. Not this shit again, Pulling the car out he flicked on the unmarked cars lights and stopped in the middle of the street at this point the entire operation was compromised anyways and he knew he had a duty as an officer of the city. "This is Leon on Main Street requesting back up shots fired." Leon Radioed in.

Flicking open his glovebox he pulled out a FiveseveN pistol and threw the door open aiming through the seem. "WCPD WEAPONs DOWN NOW!" He screamed leveling his gun toward Agent Thompson and from the back seat Mio could be heard barking loudly. He knew there were still others with weapons but this to him seemed the most logical choice. He just hoped those detectives in the apartment would get their asses down here.

"Shit!" he said, tossing the cigarette aside. "More Aschen fucks coming to ruin things for everyone. Stupid fuckin' morons!" He cursed and cursed and cursed again. Thanos had an extreme hatred for the Aschen, much like the rest of anyone else who came into contact with them. However, he wasn't in any position to whip out his piece and start blasting. Such an act would only draw unwanted attention to himself, from the PD and, possibly, the Aschen and Invictus. He wondered if the investigation for that junkie he ghosted was still in progress.

He couldn't stay here anymore. There would be a shootout and he didn't want to be a witness. He rounded a corner, walking so as not to be noticed, and made himself scarce. He kept his head low as he escaped the scene, not showing his face or doing anything to draw attention to himself. He just walked away, despite how badly he wanted to start shooting.

Besides, he had a prisoner in his hideout to attend to; she'd been all alone in that dark (to her blindfolded ass anyway) room. She was probably getting lonesome without him there to keep her company. He wasn't worried that she'd escape or anything. Even if she tried, the place was rigged with a multitude of traps that would put her down in the ground before she even hit the front door. No, she was fine where she was: accessible and ready for interrogation.

The Hooded Man wasn't quick enough to avoid the shot from the looks of it, his body twisting as the beam apparently hit it's mark and went falling to the ground.

When Thompson drew his own weapon and opened fire the Irishmen did the same, for every one that was wounded or killed their seemed to be four more to make up for it. One might say the Irishmen were prepared, others paranoid, but all that mattered is that is their precautions were paying off.

The Irishmen opened fire on Thompson's cover with pistol, submachine guns, and a car full of the Irish gangsters unloaded with AK-47s. The sedan, and anyone unlucky enough to be near it, was going to be Swiss cheese by the time anyone needed to reload.

There was a distinct disregard for bystanders.

It probably had to do with the fact that some of the men with Liam weren't the footsoldiers of the Casey clan.

They weren't the guys who got into brawls and protected street corners, they were the guys that showed up in your bedroom at night with a blade to your daughter's throat. Army veterans, guys kicked out of the IRA for being too extreme, the men who made their names in prisons.

The Caseys were gearing for war, anyone with a brain could see that.

The law enforcement watching the flashpoint of a Wing City gang war saw it and they acted as quickly as possible.

"We need backup!" One of the NPA investigators said into a radio, "Main Street, just listen for the Goddamn gunfire." He said, the others in the apartment grabbing body armor and weapons to head out to the street. They had to pacify the situation before anyone innocent got hurt.

An Irishman turned his weapon on Richard, a sawn-off shotgun, and began to approach the man slowly. If there was a cop already on the scene he had to be taken out quickly.

The Irishman that mattered, Liam, grabbed Charlie by the wrist and pulled her along into the alleyway. Barret's shot only just barely missed Liam, obliterating the chair he sat in.

"Holy shit." Charlie said, reaching for her sidearm. That she didn't have.

Rookie mistake.

"Let's go!" Liam shouted to the men in the van, sliding one of it's doors open and climbing in. "Come on, darlin'. You don't wanna be 'ere." He told Charlotte, helping her into the van. It might not have been the best idea to climb into the van with a bunch of Irish gangsters as normal woman.

Charlotte wasn't a normal woman, but that fact barely upped how good the idea was at all.

The van backed up until hit another street, spinning out and then speeding off towards Sol Avenue. Liam had narrowly avoided death again, but the second attempt on his life only meant one thing.

War.

Thompson flinched as bullets peppered the side of the car. However he was crouched low behind the engine block, which afforded a bit more protection than the rest of the cheesed car.

Bullets pinged and echoed against metal and concrete alike. The Agent found himself thoroughly pinned down.

Thompson growled, catching the van as it screeched to a stop where Liam was, he watched Liam and the woman climb into the van, this would be Thompson's only choice. As Barrett took his shot at Liam, Thompson peered over the hood of the car, and blasted a flurry of blue disruptor bolts towards the assembled Irishmen. This afforded the Agent enough time to toss a magnetized tracking device at the van, which would likely attach securely to the side of the van as it drove off.

Now it was the Agent versus the gathered irishmen, and he was finding himself quickly outnumbered. Even as Barrett attempted to pick them off one by one with his sniper rifle, pink beams of light searing through the street.

It was then a crudely armored OmniCorp van screeched to a stop, and the back two doors opened up with an audible clunk, a pair of U-87s armed with wrist mounted plasma cannons stepped out. Bullets clinking and ricocheting from their armor as they fanned out away from the van, sending a massive wall of rapid-fire green plasma bolts towards the Irishmen, covering Thompson as he dove from his cover and towards the van.

Barrett tossed his rifle aside, and jumped from his position on the roof, landing in a truck filled with trash, and jumping from the truck while bolting towards the van under cover of the Centurions, which maintained pressure on the Irishmen.

The WCPD officer's call for surrender had gone ignored.

When noone surrendered Richard took that as the incentive to act this situation was too full of hostiles and there there seemed no choice here but to use deadly force. As the man with the Sawed off approached Richard he quickly switched his gun from Thompson position and fired off three rounds at the man and immediately after he used his elbow to hit the back door release on his car.

"Onderwerpt hen!"(Subdue them!) Richard shouted in a dutch command to Mio who leaped from the back growling and took off running behind the car in search of a hostile target.

The Irishmen were quick to take cover, others fleeing in the scene to avoid prison or death. The wail of police sirens was an omen to those on the street who weren't exactly upstanding citizens, it was time to get out of the frying pan or jump straight into the fire and try their luck against the law.

"Everyone drop your weapons!" An NPA investigator shouted as he and the other law enforcement personnel piled out of the apartment building they had been using for surveillance. They opened fire on the men who wouldn't comply, some giving chase to the men who attempted to run.

They were going to get at least a few of them alive and in handcuffs for questioning.

One of the Irishmen chucked a grenade towards the Centurions, the grenade exploding instantly upon contact with the ground. While it was clear that the Casey Mob had a connection to get them military-grade hardware, it wasn't clear that it extended to explosives until that moment.

The sirens grew closer, prompting more of the Irishmen to start leaving the scene. The threat wasn't far away anymore, they were getting out of there.

On a nearby building’s roof, much too close to the action to be considered safe, stood an aged man that wore trappings that were outdated for this time period. Though by the look on his face he seemed much more interested in the event that unfolded in front of him then his own victorian aged appearance.

He reached his hand under his black frock coat and pulled out his silver pocket watch from his red floral vest front pocket. The stranger gave the top of the watch a click and the small doors revealed the face; the man gave his watch a good look but looked down toward the action every so often until he snapped it shut and stuffed it back into his vest pocket.

“I see the affairs of men of differing creeds and nations has yet to be resolved.” he said. “I suppose though that here it will take much time for these bickering school children to learn; there is still those that would see freedom of art and freedom of society crushed in their illogical minds. Quelle est l'histoire? Un écho du passé à l'avenir, un réflexe de l'avenir sur le passé.”

Doctor L.M. Gibbs rolled his shoulders and vanished from sight if any had gazed on him long enough to notice him. Though he would simply just reappear on a different rooftop. Switching different roofs every so often to simply get a better look at the events unfolding.

With all the LDA Agents now in the back of the van, Duram was ready to hit the throttle once the Centurions had come into the Van.

There was a deafening explosion, and a grenade went off at the feet of one of the machines. Sending a flurry of metal, and grease in all directions. The second Centurion managed to get into the van as it screeched off down the street towards Hagan avenue.

Duram growled a moment, then turned back to Thompson.

"Way to botch the operation." He spat, and Barrett growled. "Look, we weren't anticipating that hooded man, I don't know who the hell he was, or what he was but I had to drop the motherfrakker." The Agent added, and Thompson shook his head. "We did what we could, we'll have to keep the pressure on Liam, though."

Duram jerked the wheel to round a corner, gunning it despite the NPA likely hot on their heels.

Richard picked off a few more shots but mostly kept his gun aimed it was then when the man threw the grenade. Richard was knocked down and he dragged himself into a prone position his pistol still drawn. On the other side of the Car Mio was not running full speed toward the gangster that had threw the explosive. Leaping into the air paws fully extended the dog would attempt to knock the man off his feet using the running and surprise to his advantage, if successful the dog would then attempt to bite the mans weapon hand in an attempt to subdue him.

From his ground position Richard could see Mio attacking the man and jumping up he moved around to support the dog. He knew they were going to need an alive suspect and though Mio was trained in a scene like this he wanted to make sure the dog didn't go too far.

Down the street a single black SUV could be seen prowling through the road. Slowly and surely it moved up to where the car had been parked, and slowly it came to a stop.

The black SUV's windows, including it's windshield had been completely blacked out, but it was clear it was a government vehicle of some kind.

As the driver door opened, a single individual stepped out, clad in a black suit and black glasses.

Adjusting his dark sunglasses, he slowly approached the wrecked car and the two 'investigating' the car.

"Step aside." The man said flatly before he turned to face Dee and the Doc.

"This is a matter of National security for the United Aschen Empire." He said, adjusting his sunglasses and pulling out a chrome pen like device with a blue light on the tip.

"This'll take a moment, just need to take a photograph..." He said, calibrating the device.

"Just need you to look at the blue light."

Dee raised an eyebrow. Not bothering to move or turn to look to the new arrival he said simply in reply to his newly aquired assistant. "Niether one nor the other." He said in response to the question. "The Ki energy here is broken by dark Ki energy. Something quite dark has ruined this car. And took the life of the one within it at the same time" he turned slightly to regard the newcomer, who was more focused on he and Doc then the car itself. "If you are not the local police, I suggest you leave before you contaminate the scene." He said. "If you are the local police, then you have my thanks for arriving, as I was about to call you."

He then smiled, a slight nod of greeting saying while motioning first to himself, then to Doc. "Detective Dee Renjie, private investigator, at your service. My assistant, Mr Smathers." He then turned back to the car, trying to piece together just what exactly could have damaged the car in such a manner. Seemingly ignoring the device the man carried. Dee was not one to go down so easily, his mind was a steel trap, and even stronger when he was focused on a case such as this.

Puzzles were his favorite pastime. Some folks had sports, Dee had puzzles.

He then said simply, "I do not wish to step on any feet with this investigation. If you rather I not take this investigation to its completion, I will walk away without any trouble and forget I was ever here." And indeed he would. Puzzles that were off limits to him, he did not press for permission to tresspass. If this man did not want him to investigate, then who was Dee to say otherwise ? As far as Dee was concerned, he was a nobody, unless expressly called upon by someone in control of the situation, which this man clearly apparently was.

And besides, when Dee said he forgets something ever occured, he did indeed forget anything occurred, Unless it had to do with Jing'er
