History

Born in the ancient past as Crimson Petals in the Wind, lover of Chromechaser, Die Wu was killed during a Clan Raid that destroyed her entire clan, then known as the Jie Shen Wu Clan on the western slopes of Mt Fiji in Japan at the time. During the clan raid she was woken during the night. Her father was trying to defend her and her mother, only to loose his grip on his sword, {the Sword That Cried} which struck Crimson Petals square through the heart, ripping her spirit from her as she fell, dead as a doornail to the ground.

Her spirit was trapped inside the Sword That Cried for the next six hundred and sixty five thousand nine hundred and ninety years until a very evil man was slain by the self same sword, At which point her spirit was freed from the sword and she was found as a newborn that winter in March by a Noblite family of high rank. The Sword has been in her possession ever since her rebirth as the sword was found with her. She has learned to use the blade with all sorts of stance forms.

*This pertains to when she wields the Sword That Cried only, without the the STC her magic resistance is exactly zero[/center]

The Undermarket was one of the few places anyone would make a living in. It was crowded, it stank, and worse, it was fifty fifty wet and dry, depending on where you are at the halftime show. All sorts of creatures and people and who knew what else made a living down there. Under Wing City the massive undermarket was huge, all sorts of sellers trading their wares. But to get there was a boat, or a block of wood. Either one worked for the idiots from above that went into the underhive. It was below the city but above the 205 tunnel bridge network by a good mile or more.

There were shops, homes, and who knew what else in the Undermarket. For the moment one of the more open air dining areas was well lit and half full, it was deepest most smart people went into the Undermarket, All sorts of stuff could be found there, including people, weapons, and textile goods. though whoever wanted a rug that smelled as if a elderly male yak had taken a leak on it nobosy bothered to ask. It just selled good 'Au de Yak Rug'

news had a way of traveling in the Undermarket. And when new comers arrived from above to below, everyone was on edge, slightly. At least there was the market truce at all times. No fights, but everyone was on guard nonetheless.

Several eyes of unsavery looks eyed Drakus as he passed, one of them a larger male dragonlike thing, which ended up being a distant relative of Godzilla, pointed towards the main eating spot that most uppers stopped at and never went past. Unless they were going to the Auction Block another block down. The lizardman said, 'Saw that thing minutes ago, that-a-way' he pointed towards the eating place a good half block from their current location. Then Lizard man waved Drakus on, not saying anything more, soon disapearing into the throng.

The dining hall, half full of people and creatures of many types, was not exactly large, nor was it small. At one table a person sat alone. Other tables were crowded with people. stuff was everywhere, most of it rotting bodies that formed the hard compacted floors of the place. The table had very little food on it. But the person eating there was only drinking a type of tea of some sort.

Atop the damaged and constantly repaired table laid a item wrapped tightly in a cloth of some sort, by its shape it was clearly a sword of some kind. The woman poured a cup of liquid, set the pot onto the table, then picked up the cup to take a sip. Many people chattered around the place, some of them pointed at her. Jeering voices filled the messy place, the woman ignored the voices, focusing on her drink.

The keeper of the dinning place listened to Drakus and when he tilted his head thoughtfully as if how to answer, the coins appeared. With a feral smile the Keeper nodded and whispered, 'corner table' and pointed in the direction where a single person sat at table, drinking nothing but tea apparently. the man seemed suddenly scared and whispered to Drakus quickly 'Don't be going to start a fight Updweller, the market truce goes on here.'

The woman never looked up from her table as she poured another glass of the tea, set the pot down, then drank the tea. It seemed to go on for hours apparently. The woman appeared to be in good shape, tall by the look of her, dressed in pale blue with light grey. her eyes were extreme blue in color, and her hair black as oil even in the dim light of the eating locale.

She looked,... quite normal, important..... pretty.

So why was she drinking ?

Die Wu looked up at him, her eyes never blinked, She said nothing, nor did she nod outright. But a second cup was turned over to allow Drakus to have some. When he h ad sat she spoke. "It is not normal for an updweller such as yourself to come to the Phantom Bazaar" She said softly. her voice carried a strong undertone to it, as if with inner strength of some sort. She took another drink of the tea before speaking again "What do you seek, and why ?" She asked simply.

Die Wu took another sip of her tea, when he spoke of why he was there, after her sword, she spat it out, right in his face. she choked briefly a moment with laughter. Him take her sword,? yeah right! Like he could handle its power. Of course her choking laughter caught the attention of other not good types. Finally she stopped laughing "the Bazaar has its ways of taking in news. Whispers were heard of a man seeking myself and my sword. Though the reasons of why remain to be seen. You have told me what you seek, but not the why." She said.

Die Wu snickered slightly, "The why you seek myself and my sword is indeed important. you come here looking for me, for my blade, and you say you wish to take it, yet you do not say why you wish to take it. You name a price, yet you say not the reason." her blue eyes seemed to dance with an inner fire. "Which is why I ask you, why do you seek my sword ?" The waiter came forwards and set down some plates and a tray with strange items on it. Some white rice was on the plate, possibly the only thing, at least to Drakus, that was edible. Was that squid ?

"Wouldn't you like to know" Die Wu replied, no price, so it meant something important. She forked several forkfuls of the strange meal onto her plate. After taking a bite after some wuiet she said. "You called yourself a middle man, which means that someone sent you to find my sword and me. And yet you are not naming them. Why is this ?" her eyes flicked from her food to Drakus, studying the man before her, dark cloak, check, sword, check, ever present smirk, check, money........ no check.

She was not in the mood to discuss her past. It was only by fluke waking up in the middle of a clan battle only to get stabbed and killed off. her spirit sucked from her body into that of her sword. the Amythist gemstone held the spirit of the Innocent until such time as they could return to the living world. that was twenty six years before for her. She grew up with the blade by her side, even as a child. Even though she hated the sword for being trapped in it for so many thousands of years, She never let it out of her reach, heck, she slept with the danged thing!

Die Wu gave Drakus a confused look, "what ?" She asked clearly confused, Gambit's ? She never heard of that place before, but some of the others in the area listening to them and watching them carefully knew of it and some were more then a bit startled. "Tell me who sent you" she said at last after several minutes of quiet eating, everyone in the eating place had halted to watch the two at table, nobsy tried tosteal the sword from the woman and lived peacefully afterwards.

"The fact that you sought me and my sword here in the Bazaar far under the city above, makes me wonder just who would send you, you call yourself a middle man, so someone hired you" she was repeating herself but she thought it needed at the time. She had no enemies that she knew of, but countless people had used the sword, and until she possessed it, a young man had used it, had slain one heck of an evil man, and thus freed her, since then the sword had been hers. the question of why was always on her mind, Most of the time it was because the blade was a part of her in some way.

For a few long moments there was quiet. Finally the woman spoke. "You are persistant are you not." she replied to him with something akin to a soft hiss. "Fine, I will tell you, But what I tell you must not be told to anyone else." She called to the Keeper, shouting something an a very old langauge, the guy nodded and shouted that the place was closed. the other patrons left, when she wanted to be alone, they stayed well clear of her. When the last person had gone she spoke again, "I was but a teen when it occured. Not more then sixteen or seventeen. the sword had once been used by my father, from what I remember, Its powers were at the time myth, but it is not myth, its real. I lived it"

She took a drink of her tea, then continued softly "A enemy clan had attacked my own clan. My father died trying to save me and my mother. In his falling I was struck by this sword, the last thing I remembered was a explosion of light, then, nothing but a crystal cave. I heard voices. Scrteaming, then silence, Then, hours later, or what may have been years I heard screaming again, but could not place it. then twenty six years ago, an evil man was slain with this very sword. My spirit escaped. I was found a noble family that winter."She took another sip of her tea, the memory fading away. "Since then I've kept the sword with me. using it when I needed it. Its never left my side. It was said that when I was found the sword was under me."

She set the cup down, "Now, who sent you, why did they send you ?"

Die Wu gave Drakus a hard look, "Never heard of her" which was true, she was only told of such a person just then anyhow. She took a sip of her tea. A thin smile on her face, "In anyone tried to steal my sword, they never got very far." She said, she took a bite of the squid "You want me to speak to this woman, I do not know her, nor have I heard of her until you mentioned her as your employer who sent you to me for my sword. Did she say not why she sought it enough to send you ?"

"The why is in my way as you say it" Die Wu replied. "Because I ask you why you want it. you avoid answering my question, as if you have done it before." She said, the sword was set on the table wrapped in cloth, it cut the table in half, though it was closer to Die Wu then to Drakus, for the moment. "You spoke of price, and yet you carry no moneybag." She said, he must have had one some where. She gave him a steeley look, a hard once over.

"Even then you need money down here to pay for things." The woman replied. once again a thin smile on her face as she spoke. "Including information." her piercing blue eyes locked on him again for a scant few seconds before she continued eating her meal. When she finished the meal was when she spoke again, "Favour ?" She then asked, this man dealt in favors, oh great. Just her fijing luck.

"And why would I hand over my sword to the likes of yourself ?" She asked. She had no idea that the blade was needed for a certain creature to save its own nation. Nor did she know of this person, Vipteri, either. That and this guy was starting to creep her a bit, his smug grin, heck his sword looked pretty much like a normal everyday blade too. Compared to the sword wrapped in cloth. Her meal done she reached for her blade that laid on the table. pikcing it up she unraveled the cloth string wrapped tightly around the hilt.

She then let the cloth drop away. revealing the glitterty like almost crystal-like razor edged blade with a single aymthist stone in the meteal. it was teardrop shaped. The blade seemed to be thin as all hell, almost too thin for a swordblade, but also strong and flexible, the inside of the blade itself was hollow, see through, wide enough to catch a blade inside it and break it, One of those Swordbreaker designs no doubt.

She held the blade with reverance and respect. Though Drakus also saw fear in her posture. Fear, and hatered at something or someone. But then he saw love and care as well. Love and care for the sword, along with fear and hate, the woman both loved and hated the sword, and both feared and respected it. And why not, she was held in its aymthist stone for two thirds of a million years! {665,990 to be exact}

Die Wu held the her sword tightly in her hands, which apepared small, and slender compared ot the sword, she herself was strong enough to use it with ease. She stared at the amythist teardrop stone in the metal of the weapon for several long moments before beginning to rewrap the sword, "It is not for sale." She said at last as she tied the cloth tightly around the blade. "If I were you I would speak to your employer, this Vipteri woman, the sword is my own, it is not for sale, those that have tried to steal it from me learned the hard way and woke up dead after each attempt. If she wants my sword, She will have to come for it herself." But Die Wu was not going to be in the Undermarket for long, as soon as she was done with Drakus ,she was heading for that cruise ship off the planet first chance she got!

"Good, then it is settled. Now,are you going to let the food go to waste ? The cooks in the Bazaar make food worth trying for Updwellers." Die Wu said, instantly changing the subject to a meal as if it always way the topic. "After all, the best food is made through art and training of oneself. Surely you do not plan toi unsult the cook that made this meal. He even brought a second plate for you to share with me."

When the table was flipped towards her and the food scattered, her hand went to the wrapped sword with a strangled sounding curse of 'Kuso Kami!!' Unfortunately the strength of the table getting flipped landed the thing onto her with a crash and mess of shattered plates spilled tea and who knew what else. Her sword was gripped tightly in her hand as she laid under the overturned table. though it was seen out from under it.

This was simply not going well

Die Wu shrieked under the overturned table as the sword was held down, unfortunately Drakus had also stepped on her exposed hand, well, her right hand, her left hand held the tightly wrapped hilt of the sword, her other hand was under it, and also under Draku's foot. Kicking hard Die Wu kicked the table up and towards Drakus. So he wanted to play dirty huh ? So be it! But she was not expecting the weapons he carried, as he never drew his blade.

She felt the briefist of pinpricks. another shriek was heard and she tried to pull her pricked hand closer, letting go of the sword was not an option, it was failure. But her strength waned from the prick and her hand throbbed with pain as thick red blood oozed from the cut. No!! She thought in horror as her sword was wrenched from her throbbing hand. She grabbed frantically for her weapon. But Drakus was out of reach. wisely keeping his distance no doubt.

Die Wu got to her feet and scampered as far as the door, "Kare o tamerou!! {Stop him!}" She shrieked, calling for others to stop Drakus. But seeing how the man had easily gotten her sword from her just by poking her in the back of the hand, they unwisely kept out of the mans reach. She leaned against the door post t othe eating area as Drakus disappeared into the crowd, suddenly very tired. Too tired. "Watashi no ken! Kare wa watashi no ken o motte imasu! {My sword! He has my sword!!} She cried, now mostly sounding like a tired whine before the full affect of the lack of strength caused her to completely zonk out and collapse to the rotting wood floor of the eating hall in the Bazaar.

The last thing she remembered before completely blacking out was where he said to go, Gambit's, Oh that man was going to pay, dearly!

Gambit's Bar and Hotel. Die Wu read the sign, written in who knew how many langauges. She was weaponless and looked harmless. But she was looking for a man that had stolen her only possession. She had asked around, giving a brief, albiet hard to remember description of Drakus, and mentioned the place called Gambit's Bar, and now she stood outside of it, she heard a voice from inside saying hello empty bar, Well, it was not going to remain empty for long as the found sounded strangely familar. Reaching up her hand, which still had a small scar on it from where the dagger had made contact, to her mouth she licked the mark and willed the pain to go away, unfortunately it did not, and her hand was still sore from the cut. She opened the door and entered the bar quietly. Almost walking headlong into Alrion's back
