Mind you, Valorie didn't want to hurt anyone. That's right, kids. Nothing's cooler than having your pokemon fight eachother, but if someone with aspirations challenges you that's no good.

Her reaction was to scramble to her feet and totally wrap her arms around Quill's waist. Despite the fact that Quill had clarified that she was with the news Valorie was still convinced that the older looking female was the closest thing she'd find to a guardian here. What's that? Independence and adulthood? Fuck that noise! For a moment she didn't say anything, but then a whispery tone came out of her mouth. "...I just want to get out of here..." she whined quietly, no longer interested in trying to forget the day with alcohol.

Quill offered her hand to the young Valorie in an attempt to gain her trust. Journalism wasnt a proffesion where friends were common but having the select few couldnt hurt.

'Shall we go outside and talk?' Quill asked in a soothing friendly tone.

Valorie was hesitant to release Quill's waist for a moment but seemed to understand that walking would be difficult--Even if Valorie was debatably malnourished and weighed a measly 97 pounds. "Yes, please..." she answered gently.

Quill felt the small hand of the seemingly young one in her own and proceeded to lead her to the exit. 'I'm sorry if this all seems a bit much for you, i can understand if you would rather not talk about it, but sometimes its good to let someone know.'

"Yes, I would normally have a bottle of sake with me, but that would be unprofessional." Raiden said with a laugh. "What do you need doctor? Shall I drive a delorian at eighty miles an hour?" Raiden said, laughing again.

'Well, my recent studies have left me with questions concerning augmentations and artificial limbs, especially with the hospitals high reciept of soldiers coming in with missing limbs.' He started. 'My job is to help maintain a high capcaity in mobility, and increase the standards of living for those with permenant injuries. Me and My team have recently been able to adjust a particular type of alloy to fuse with the remaining muscle tissue of a severed limb, and in doing so creating 60% more mobility than the artificial limbs we are using today.'

'Well, even in the simplest operations weve had rejections, but these aptly named Barnes alloys, are introduced to the muscle fibres over a period of time, usually amounting to about 3 weeks. the muscle fibres take on some of the properties of the alloys making the surrounding connective tissue stronger. After the three weeks the limb is then placed permenantly onto the body via an intrinsic and microscopic operation... once the operation is complete and i can assure you that too takes some time the alloy is able to pass signals to the brain just like any normal conducter.'

Dr John Barnes, MD 'No thank you, this research may finally bring hope to the lives that have been affected so drastically and im trying my upmost to help preserve standards the soldiers deserve.' he finished before packing his briefcase and walking out of the bar with a smile on his face.

''My research isnt technically speaking a prosthetic, when you look at the way it works in the body. We have created an alloy aptly name the Barnes Alloy which you can, in essence, teach to adapt to various roles in the body.''

''Let me explain. currently hospitals use various types of hydrocarbons, or plastics, to replace severed limbs mainly on soldiers but also those poor souls who have suffered a severe incident. Now even with these plastics, it is my view that the standards of living for these patients is severely disrupted. The Barnes alloy is introduced over a series of 3 weeks, the first week is the introduction period where we expose the remaining muscle fibres to the alloy and leave remenants of the alloy behind. Using research from antigens , we've formulated the alloy to remember specific qualities of the remaining muscle tissue and to replicate it. In the second week, we expose the limb to more solid amounts of the alloy and growths begin to appear, and by the third week we leave the limb completely exposed to the alloy allowing it to form the limb. Now compared to the plastic prosthetics used today we calculate the mobility of the patient to increase by a staggering 60%, meaning of course the patient may be able to continue an occupation and raising the standards of living.''

''Well, i studied at the academy of dynamic sciences and qualified as an MD a few years later, ive always had an interest in carbon chemistry and i tried to compare the various charachteristics of the natural world, or antigens, to the characteristics found in metals. Now seeing as no one metal was suited, i had my research team begin to abstract the various components of 7 particular elements to create the Barnes alloy. Unfortunately ive been held to secrecy by myself on how and which elements we used but i can asuure you theya re perfectly safe.''

''Well Wilhelm, i am not one to brag, but my personal contributions to medicine has made me an incredibly wealthy man, and i believe that the soldiers and people that recieve these injuries deserve as much of a life as possible. In light of this, I myself shall be donating the money required to fund this operation for all patients, and even if thats just one life i improve, i believe there is no real price on this earth that i wouldnt pay to see a renewed smile on one of my patients faces.''
