Du Vercinge Lagion

"Endless we march, forever we fight, fear has no hold on us, death shall not keep us"

0 · 4,110 views · located in Oblivion

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by TheOneWhoSeesAllThings, as played by Sambea

Description

Du Vercinge Lagion is the name of the military component of Istalri Nianya. It is both the name of the primary infantry, and the term used over all the military.
Image
Du Vercinge Lagion, The Legion Warriors, is the Primary Military Force of Istalri Nianya. It is comprised of nearly three billion magically enhanced warriors. Each Warrior undergoes training in advanced martial arts, various forms of the standard military weaponry they will use, as well as simplified combat magic. The training takes nearly 3 years, and upon completion each warrior undergoes a trial. If they pass, they will be changed physically and mentally into a Warrior. Warriors are all around 7 feet tall, usually weighing at three hundred odd pounds, with metallic colored hair, eyes that shine with their own light, with elongated canine teeth, long pointed ears, and usually pale skin tones that seem to glow. They also have seven toes to each foot, and small nubs that protude from the end of their shoulder blades. These warriors are are Stronger, Faster, Quicker of mind and Sturdier of Body. And in addition to all that, each one is immortal. Upon the death or destruction of their body, their physical forms revert to an energy which is returned to a soul collection device, whereupon it their bodies are reconstituted and ready to return to battle.
Image
Du Orya Abr Sundavr is a special ops division of Du Vercinge Lagion. These warriors are selected from the standard stock for keener eyesight, clever minds, and quiet steps. They are the stealth operatives of Istalri Nianya, as well as commanders in their own right. Each one is further trained and honed, taught mastery over several schools of weaponry and magic, as well as educated in combat tactics and command. Equipped usually in enchanted light armor, made of leather or cloth, and wielding weapons of their own choosing, these Warriors are capable, individually, of bringing down entire governments. Like all Legion Warriors, "The Arrows of Shadow" are Immortal in that they are reincarnated upon death at a SCD.
Image
Rangari Vardan: Royal Guards, Elite Protectors of high ranking officials, important personnel, and Persons of Interest. Rangari Vardan are Legion warriors like most of Istalri Nianya's Military. These however, are trained for defense and protection. Usually equipped in heavy Starsteel armor, wielding a Shield without a weapon, Rangari vardan are equipped to last onslaughts from any source for weeks at a time. Especially skilled in magical wards and teleportation, Rangari Vardan stay within three feet of their charges, and at a moments notice can cast a spell that turns their charge into a wisp of energy that is then absorbed into their own body. Once this is done, The Guardian's standard procedure is to return to a safe location at all costs. The Guardian does not stop for any reason until they can assure the safety of their Charge. If It becomes impossible to return to a safe location, The Guardian can assure their charges safe return by destroying their own body. As the Rangari Vardan are Members of the legion warriors, this results in their body turning to energy and returning to a soul collector to be reconstituted. Doing this will mean the end of the Guardian, as the spell sealing their charge can only be released by the caster or through the soul collector. Undoing the spell through the soul collector however, requires a large sum of energy, which is supplied by the Guardian. In this way, the Guardian can ensure the salvation of their charge at the cost of their own existence.

Lagion Vercinge
Legion Warriors typically come equipped with morph state weapons, Magically enchanted weapons that change form to accommodate different purposes. Typical equipment is Starsteel armor inscribed with multiple wards and enchantments to protect against a multitude of effects, Morphstate Barrier shields, Shields that typically appear as medium kite shields, but can extend to full tower shields when needed. They can also be deployed as a stationary cover that generates a magic barrier to protect those behind it. They are also usually equipped with a morphstate starsteel spear that can convert into a longsword and a rifle, as needed.
Legion warriors are trained to use basic combat magic, first aid, and field construction of defenses and traps.
Their magical training includes the use of:

Signs - Simple combat magic cast with one handed gestures to generate effects ranging from forceful shockwaves, conjured fire, to magical barriers and traps.

Inciting - A magical technique that causes an object to transform it's mass into energy as an devastating explosion. This technique is usually used with the legion warriors spears. The tactic has the warrior throw their spear, usually into a mass of enemies or at a armored target. The inciting spell then causes the handle to burn off energy wise first, driving the spear as like a rocket. The second stage has the outer surface of the spears blade transform into plasma energy, which burns and melts through armor. The final stage turns the remaining mass of the spear into explosive kinetic energy, driving the plasma as molten shrapnel in an explosion, effectively killing everything nearby. The effect is like a magical RPG missile.

Reclaimation - A magical technique used in conjunction with inciting. The spell requires the focusing of a warrior upon an object, most often the legion warrior spear. The spell "claims" the object, creating a shadowform of it. When the object is destroyed, the image is made physical. This technique, used in conjunction with the Inciting explosive spear tactic allows legion warriors to pair up in twos. One Reclaims the spear, and the other incites it, allowing him to throw the explosive spear, then take the reclaimed spear and repeat the tactic as many times as necessary.

Ripping - A spell that creates an arcane circle that accelerates anything that passes through it to the speed of sound.

Specialized Troops
Lagion Vercinge has a few battalions of troops who undergo additional training to fulfill a specific role.
Image
Archers: Using longbow's enchanted for strength and range, as well as a large selection of specialized arrowheads that utilize magic and Artificing to produce specific effects, Archers are the long range snipers of Lagion Vercinge, trained to take out key targets at significant distances
Image
War Chiefs: Heavy armored troops wielding axes or hammers. They are slow moving juggernauts that are all but immune to physical attacks. They serve as captains, leading battalions of troops into battle.
Image
Sorcerers: Rather than focusing on martial prowess, Sorcerers are legion warriors who during training showed talent and affinity for magic. These were taken and trained in a separate class that focused more on magical instruction than martial skills. After completing the trials, these Warriors were further trained in advanced practices of magic used for war and combat. They are the battle mages and support units of the Legion Warriors, and are found in any large scale campaign.
Image
Paladins: Armored warriors equipped with specialized light armor. They are capable of flight, and bear staves that use an energy infusion system to accelerate the amazing regeneration abilities of the Legion Warrior Immortal Form. A Legion Warrior's body is mortal, and bleeds as any other, but when as long as that body has energy it will regenerate. The Staves of the Paladins allow them to provide a constant and continuous source of energy to fuel the Warriors Regenerative process, allowing them to heal from the most terrible wounds almost instantly. In addition, the "wings" of the Paladin are in fact a soul collection device known as a Soul Shard. The Paladins are able to reconstitute any fallen Legion Warrior, allowing them to return fully equipped and refreshed to the front line. Unfortunately the efficiency of the Soul Shard is significantly less than the Soul Stone, and the Paladin cannot simply regenerate Warriors one after the other after they die. The Paladin requires a short time to charge up the Soul Shard before it can bring the warriors back to life, and during that time the paladin is vulnerable. Therefore the common practice is to wait until the area is secure before bringing fallen warriors back to life.
Image
Golem: Typically employed as battering rams or siege engines, these large magically formed constructs are made of animated starsteel produced on the battlefield. As it takes a significant amount of time to create one of these, they are usually only present during long running campaigns.
Egryn Abr Fyrn
A subchapter in Lagion Vercinge is dedicated to Engines of War. The tanks, transports, Artillery, and many others are constructed and run by Egryn Abr Fyrn
Image
Sparrow: A terrestial scouting ship designed to fly at moderate altitudes to scout and spy upon the enemy. Equipped with no weapons save a flare launcher, this Egryn seldom sees active combat.
Image
Thundercloud: A high altitude terrestrial bomber. It's slow moving but capable of being flying in upper atmospheres out of reach of most antiair weaponry. Multiple scopes are used to identify targets, whereupon the vessel launches semi self guided bombs to destroy the targets. Each bomb is comprised of a tripartite explosive. The first part detonates in mid air, separating dozens of charges, the second part activates magical construct that super heats the solid material of the explosive, and the third detonates each charge, spreading molten shrapnel the size of watermelons over a massive area. A secondary explosive designed for armored targets has a smaller effective area, but does far more significant damage in that area.
Devastator: Mobile artillery that uses inscribed Starsteel shells for long range damage. Each shell is magically enchanted to convert it's entire mass into energy upon impact, resulting in massive explosions of terrible effect. Each shell can be launched up to 300 kilometers away in standard conditions.

Note
At times it becomes necessary for Legion Warriors to be present for Formal events, as guards or security. When such an event takes place, they have formal armor that they wear, instead of their military garb.

Ekfricai, taken by surprise by Emily's maneuvers, assumed a ready stance as Drek pulled his axes out of the ground. Drek then glanced at Molnish, who was focused too strongly on his task to note anything. Ekfricai placed a hand on Drek's shoulder, then tilted his head. Drek nodded in return.

Drek attached his two axes together at the bottom of each handle, then spun the combination above his head, as it shifted from a pair of axes into a long and deadly scythe. Ekfricai slammed his fists together, energy crackling between them as a spell activated. Then, he jumped into the air and landed on the flat of Drek's scythe blade, which he used to throw Ekfricai above and over Emily. Drek followed this up by continuing his momentum and spin to leap towards Emily with a long swipe of his blade. Ekfricai, from his position in the air, would be able to counter Emily's movements with blasts launched from his fists. This tactic they attempted was meant to leave only retreat as an option for their opponent.

--

Ayanna scoffed at Lucifer, then placed her free hand on the ground. A ring of violet runes formed around her, and she then dashed towards Hannah, her blade poised in front to cut the Majin's head free. As she moved, she called out to the pink one. "Go ahead you slime ball, Try and turn me into candy, I dare you!"

The runes behind her shimmered and crackled with energy.

#, as written by Rulke
Half an hour ago:

Dragging Steven her camera man practically the arm she pointed to the sky, "Steven, see this is why I dragged you here. More news." the at this point terrified camera man rightly commented, "Claire, why can't you act normal? Most people run from danger, but you immediately run towards it? I am scared for my family, and really I like living." of course he would never admit the true feelings in his heart, why he followed this insane brunette, but he was uneasy seeing all those ships, "Claire, my Dad served in the fight to protect Terra from Aschen, and I am one getting flashbacks right now..." Claire ignored him continued searching with her eyes for great spot, "We need to get higher Steven, follow me."

With that she ran quickly towards one of the buildings where people were leaving in mass and started for elevator on the ground floor. Immediately she pushed the call button and waited, "We won't go too close, just relax. I don't want to die either." that did nothing to calm Steven in this matter.

Finally the lift arrived and at once she pressed the top floor, as Steven placed Camera on the floor to rest his shoulder, "Claire, look you don't need to do this, you don't need to risk your life to get stories. I know you get a thrill from it." he nursed his aching shoulder as he continued, "I know no one reports this stuff, but why do you do it?"

Her shoulders sagged as she let out a long sigh, the only other sound the elevator music, "It's a promise I made to someone who mattered to me. I promised that I would always report the news, even if it was dangerous as people deserve to know the truth." Steven appeared embarassed and merely nodded, "Okay Claire, we'll do it your way."

The elevator stopped at final floor and as she dart out immediately heading for the roof, Steven once picked up the camera grunting with exertion before following briskly, "Claire, if you feel we must do this. I will."

Of course she did not hear as she flew up the stairs to the roof and exit to the outside followed by a fatigued Steven, waiting a bit for him to recover she gestured to point, took her microphone and once ready her announcement began:

Good evening Wing City this is Terracast Journalist Claire Wilder with a special report, as you know WPD have closed all roads to Wing City Business District and people are being evacuated out of all buildings. I am now here with official story, if you looked up you noticed the ships they are a new Race we have never seen, but we are still trying to work out exactly who they are or their intention. The Taiyou have been informed by TNG and claim to be ready to amass help if Terra in danger. Of course many you know Shintenchi is a Taiyou colony, but not affliated with their homeworld.

Continuing, this merely was beginning of story, an army of minotaurs have amassed and what appears to be well 'Tribbles' if that is the case let's hope they are dealt with. Previous reports show they are not to be underestimated. As you can see the ships are huge. We are hoping we can get a representative of Terra to speak for us, but with the chaos and fraud in Government any hope of that is unlikely. We shall keep you updated as the story progresses, but please don't ignore the police barricades and come into Business District.

There is also hopes to reach out to Mars Corp but nothing solid on that.

This is Claire Wilder for Terracast reporting whenever and wherever, we shall keep you updated by the hour.

Goodbye for now.

As she spoke the Steven made sure to thoroughly film the ships catching everything as well as the events below.

Above the skies of wing city, thousands of ship whose origin came from high orbit above Terra belonging to The Imperium Of Man rained down. Vulture Gunships, Sky Talons and Valkyrie Transports arrived en mass, dropping off entire squads of guardsman which assembled into battalions all armed with their las-gun and flak armor, elite soldier such as Kasrykin and Storm Troopers left these shuttles and assembled into elite squads all armed with hell-guns, grenades and carapace armor.

Following this, Vulture Gunships began to fly overhead searching for targets of opportunity while Sky Talons deployed Drop Sentinels, Cyclops Demolition Vehicles, Supply crates, sentry guns and some even deployed tanks to the surface. While the Imperial forces secured a foothold on the planet, a man dressed in a uniform teleported onto the surface. This man known as Ciaphas Cain, a Commisar, was surrounded by a group of 5 Kasrykin and one man named Gunner Ferik Jurgen accompanied him. "Well...I guess I can never escape urban warfare. Listen up guardsman, I want this perimeter secured and a command post established in one of these buildings. Once we have this area secured we will make sure to eliminate all foes that dare try to attack this planet. Now get to it Guardsman!" He yelled orders into his vox and his men began rushing to complete what he asked for. He then began to march forward to help clear the area of all hostiles.

However they did not arrive in the Buisness District of Wing City, They arrived in Sol Avenue.

When Lucifer stood between them and Ayanna, Kinoko gladly answered his question. "We're defending ourselves from a woman who is clearly hellbent on making sure we're deader than dead. While I enjoy fighting, this is getting beyond stupid."

Hana agreed while rubbing her face. "Yeah~! We just wanted to watch our mentor show us how to do some cool fighting stuff, but this woman won't let us!"

Ayanna's scoff tipped them off that something bad was happening, and as Ayanna dashed up to Hana, Hana's head was cleanly taken off by the blade, causing her body to freeze in place twitching as her head hovered beside it, a shocked expression left on the face. She was trying to keep her pain in check by biting her bottom lip, but she was still making sounds. Both parts would fall to the ground, the body landing, twitching intensely while her head landed beside it, with an expression of complete torture on it. Hana did let out several cries of pain though after hitting the floor; her arm was caught as well by the blade and had abandoned her body immediately prior to the rest of her falling to the ground.

This was all Kinoko needed, her own surprise running onto her face at seeing Hana get decapitated. "Hana!" Kinoko slowly turned her head to look away from Hana's predicament, and looked at Ayanna. "You monster! You sick fiend! No one does that to Hana without my say so! You aren't allowed to harm my best friend!"

She looked down at the floor again, seeing Hana's twitching form. Somewhere deep, she knew Hana was perfectly fine. She was a Majin. But the very act, that someone would stoop to that level, it angered her to point that pushed beyond her tolerance. In her anger, a powerful aura began radiating off of her as she started twitching her eyes, her body having occasional spasms. "That you... would do that... to her!"

The entire area would begin shaking with power, pieces of buildings and the floor floating into the air as she radiated intense power. Gradually, her hair began changing color, a bright yellow color now coloring her hair. The hairstyle also began lifting itself upward, as if swept up by wind. With an aura of energy surrounding her in a golden color, her eyes closed, only to reopen in a green color. Putting her arms to her side, she screamed in complete anger, as a powerful shockwave radiated through the area, the whole transforming process completed.

Kinoko returned to a neutral stance as she gave Ayanna quite a nasty glare. She didn't say anything yet, letting the power flow around her. The debris that had been lifted into the air fell back to the floor, and lightning occasionally crackled around Kinoko for short moments. The aura around her was a glowing golden color.

"Heartless tyrant! You just destroy because you feel like it! Chasing off the warrior I was dueling, damaging those robots who had no quarrel with you, and more! Even if they were attacking us, fighting should be fair and honorable, and you're anything but! You're even attempting to invade this planet! I have no care for the people who live here; Humans are beneath me! But they haven't done anything to warrant having their homes and lives destroyed for your own power grab! You have fought with skill, but we're done here!"

Kinoko pointed at Ayanna, and issued her final challenge, a decree that carried overwhelming finality to whomever heard it.

"YOU DIE, NOW!"

With a level of speed that not even Ayanna would be able to see, Kinoko rushed in front of the armored woman and attempted to force her fist as hard as she could into Ayanna's gut, trying to give the warrior no chance to react. The force behind this punch was far more significant than any blow Ayanna had taken so far, and would not be able to be stopped by Ayanna's armor or magic. The punch was designed simply to make Ayanna gag and heave, allowing Kinoko to drive home to a point her new and overwhelming power.

Whether or not the punch struck or was evaded, Kinoko's scowl intensified.

--

Emily hovered into the air again, inches off the ground, and began the process anew. As Drek and Ekfricai attacked her from two angles, she began bending in various ways, as well as spinning in place at times, evading each attack thrown by the two warriors. The only time she dropped her guard to be hit was when she heard Kinoko chewing out Ayanna, causing the entire place to shake.

Emily gracefully took the hits and retreated a short distance away from the two. Her form, though a big wound was in her body, healed itself almost immediately as new flesh filled out what was taken. "Impressive, but your leader's time is approaching it's end. My acolyte has been angered, thus, is unlocking power that trivializes even all of yours. I'll play for a bit longer before I'll need to leave."

Emily this time went on the attack, transforming as she dashed towards Drek and Ekfricai. Her new form changed with every attack launched; any punches, kicks, and energy blasts, were done as Ekfricai. She however made use of several quick swings of Drek's weapon, using his form to do so each time. Her attacks were fast enough that she split them between both Drek and Ekfricai, attempting to land any number of hits upon either as she took the offensive. Her fighting style remained unique, even when she transformed into either of the warriors.

In between each transformation, visible for only split seconds, Emily's form was that of a sphere of formless flesh with random eyes, mouths, and appendages hanging from it, comprising most of its body. She almost didn't notice the Human soldiers arriving to combat Ayanna's soldiers, but made a mental note of them anyways. "Terra's military force? Very much the slowest response time I've seen. But what to expect of mere mortals?"

Above Sol Avenue, the colum of soldiers and soldiers on top of buildings would suddenly be attacked by strafing Vulture Gunsips belonging to the Imperium of man. Behind them an entire battalion of Imperial Guardsman poured from all around them in large battalions. Although the Warriors would not the weapons were not doing much damage, they would however not that if they focused fire they would note their attacks piercing their armour and certain soldiers wielded plasma weapon capable of easily piercing their armour it it it. However elite soldiers, such as Kasrykin or Storm Troopers, the warriors would immediately note that their armour was taking more damage.

Behind the regiment of Infantry, they would see armoured walker vehicles known as Sentinals and some tanks rolling down the street. Behind this all, a man dressed in a uniform walked behind them all, his very presence seemed to invigorate the man around him making it clear he was the leader of the Imperium forces. "Jurgen, how does it feel to once again get back to the battle? Knowing that we are here on another mission to save a planet that we have just met." The Commisar spoke to a man wearing guardsman armour and holding a melta-gun on his back. "Oh it feels nice knowing I have to protect your ass again. Because all you really care is your own hide sir, but regardless it's nice to be back out again." The man named Jurgen spoke. "You know I have yet to execute a single person, perhaps you are aiming to be the first man shot under my command?" He spoke to his personal aid. Jurgen simply just scoffed at him before resuming continuing behind the armoured line.

Aboard the Kukri of the Gale, Konugr Dura watched as as the entire space marine fleet suddenly passed through strange portals with rapt attention. It took her a moment before she realized what he was doing. "Reconfigure all pillars immediately, I want a warp negation field active this instant!" The pillars resumed their original forms before positioning in various locations around the station and the Rooks. The Rooks themselves took up positions so that every blind spot there was was covered.

Konugr Dura watched the proceedings before saying. "Dismantle the drone wall and reassign for Skull'skolir. Set the remaining drones to swarm assault."
"Yes Konugr"
"Can we reach the boarding team?"
"No Konugr, they appear to have passed outside of this realm for the moment."

Dura bit her lip and made a silent prayer. The prayer wasn't for herself or her troops, at least not specifically. In fact she was praying for the leader of the infiltration team, her daughter Erna.
The drone wall disintegrated as each individual drone began swarming in a cloud surrounding the ships and the station. Several of the drones flew close in and interlocked with each other to forma massive spherical shell over the station, three layers thick. Even with all the drones that that took, there were still enough to create a swarm around the ships and the now shielded station.
The pillars, after reaching their intended positions, opened up entirely into separate peices, connected by lightning arcing through space into an sphere of energy at their center. Several magical circles formed around each pillar, creating a box of runic sigils that glowed with red light. The energy sphere at the center of each of these pulsed, and the space around them sparked and snapped as the warp negation field became active. Portals and doorways could no longer be opened in that space, as the gateways would collapse in upon themselves, and teleportation would go askew sending those using it several nians off their mark. The fear that Dura had was a result of this, as now that they had been taken into an alternate realm, the warriors of Lagion Vercinge would no longer be able to rely on their immortality, as their bodies would burn away but the energy would be unable to find it's way to the Soul Stone aboard any of the ships. They would only have the one life.

--
Minutes Earlier, aboard the Sundavr
Thirty Legion warriors in golden armor, shields slung on their backs each one holding a spear before them with their heads bowed, a more heavily armored fyrnskain with a large and wicked axe, and three Oryan Abr Sundavar knealt in the cargo hold of the light frigate sized ship. One of the Oryans stood and spoke, her name was Erna. "Ten of you are with Calsai, Morthen, and me, the rest follow Fyrnskain Amelia and head down the ship. Cause as much damage as you can and make as much noise as you can, but make sure that at least one of you gets to the core. When you do your going to use Inciting on your shield, with delayed magic. Then make your way to the hanger and form a defensive position. You are to hold until extraction or death. Those of you with us will be heading to the helm. There we will find the commander of this enemy and we will slay him, even if it costs us our lives. Intel has shown us that they use armored suits to heighten their abilities, so do not hold back. They can take it, and the leader can take more. It will take a lot to bring him down but if we do, it will make things much easier for us. Remember the light, and let nothing stand in your way."
"Fortha Aiedail! Fortha Solskain! Fortha Celobra!"

Now.
The squad filed out of the Sundavr through the breach it had made to let them into the Remembrance's hull. However, it could no longer risk detaching and so remained where it, attached to the side of the Remembrance. The warriors noted demons outside, and realized that they must have transitioned out of the normal realm. The warriors helmets protected them from the demons whispers, and the Oryans quickly began casting spells to drive the demons out of their minds. Erna looked around at her forces, noting how the circumstances had changed quickly and her plan was now useless... or was it? She looked to her troops as they watched her, awaiting her command. "You have your orders, carry them out. Don't worry about the hanger anymore, just rendevues with us at the helm after you deal with the core. Move out!" And like that they moved, twenty golden armored legion warriors with shields in hand and weapons in rifle state, and the heavily armored fyrnskain wielding her heavy axe, filed through the corridors on their way to the core of the ship. The remaining ten warriors, along with the three Oryans began their march to where they believed the helm to be. Erna held a long thin blade in hand, Calsai wielded a stout broadsword, and Morthen carted a intricately designed Gatling gun.

It was not clear how long the ships would stay inside this strange realm, they could remain there for a few second, to a few minutes however when the ships would pass through the strange gate, they would all see the walls of the Warp bending and twisting but they did not get forced out. Instead the entire fleet would be scattered upon re-entry and the time it would take to leave the Warp would be ten minutes but for everyone outside it would be a few minutes.

In the Rememberance Of Truth, they had no means of communication with the others, and the ship was also protecting the other ship from demonic insurrection. "I want all battle brothers to stay in groups of twenty. Group alpha will head to the weapon systems, group Beta will head to ensure the Gellar Feild does not break, Group Charlie will make sure the core does not get destroyed, and I group Delta will remain in the bridge and make sure they do not destroy the consoles. If they mess up the ship then we could be placed halfway across the universe...You have your orders, stay vigilant brothers!" With that said the three groups made their way through the narrow and long corridors of the ship, all armed with chainswords or power weapon.

Meanwhile at the bridge, Renalus, the Librarian, the nine Sword Brethran, and ten Initiates stayed behind on the bridge. While they were assess damage reports on the ship, one of the destroyed weapons exploded violently causing the ship to shake and most horribly cause the Gellar Feild protecting them all to begin malfunctioning. "Gellar Feild has sustained critical damage, we can only keep the machine spirit stable for six minutes. Main weapon systems down, we are down to sub weapon systems." One of the Initiates spoke as they assessed the damage. Unknown to them once the field shut down, they would have to last four minutes until they could get out of warp or risk a premature exit and arrive possibly in the middle of a sun. "Empeor help us all..." Renalus prayed as he made sure to close the door to the bridge.

Behind the Rememberance Of Truth, the Astral Halberd watching in horror as they read that the ships Gellar Field was critically damaged. The worst thing that could happen during warp drive, there was no telling what would happen to the crew and ship itself. Everyone on board was in danger, and the worst part was that all they could do was help them with Psycic powers but other than that they were on their own.

For the rest of the Imperial fleet, they would not that they would pass through something that seemed to mess up war trajectories. "Sir, it seems the enemy has done something to disrupt warp jumps. The fleet will be scattered and separated, however it seems we will still be able to continue the plan. Although with that disruption we will be stuck in warp drive for ten minutes. We will re-arm all weapon systems and warn all other ships." One of the crewman of the Lance Of The Emperor spoke. Unlike Renalus and his battle barge, the Imperial Navy could still contact and see each other in this other world.

The shaking of the ship from the weapons explosion was felt even by the team following fyrnskain Amelia, she raised a fist to halt her group and listen to something. A moment later she shook her head and directed her team onward. "These people are brave, foolish but most defenitly brave. They are willing to pass into the void to achieve their goals, risking not only their bodies and minds, but their very souls as well." The heavy armored warrior said aloud, though mostly to herself. One of the fore troops noted that they appeared to be getting closer to the core. "Ready yourselves for combat, brothers and sisters, and keep your heads. We must not die in this plane, lest we be lost forever." She rallied her troops, before leading the charge towards the core.

Meanwhile Erna's team continued to get closer to the bridge, their eyes kept open for any force they might encounter. As they moved, Erna chanted several spells, crafting wards over her forces to grant them a buffer against physical harm of various sorts. The wards acted as magical barriers that protected from whatever they were made to protect from, and they were effective so long as the energy sustaining them held, and they were worded without loopholes or gaps in their protection. Erna was especially adept at wards, and very rarely had any of hers failed or been subverted. She was confident they would be sufficient to protect them as they stormed the helm.

The room of the core was large, the narrow corridors was replaced by a large spacious room filled with a multitude of equipment and most importantly a large open core sparking with life. Once Amelia entered the core, the marine squad Charlie assaulted her squad from the air using Jump-packs. Some were already on the ground when they jumped but others above on catwalks around the core jumped down with melee weapons at the ready. "For the Emperor! And for the Marshal!" The marines let out a battle cry as they soared through the air.

For Erna's team, they would encounter no marines since the other two groups split up to guard areas where they were not planning to attack. Their path was clear until they made it to a door possibly leading to the bridge. Of course the door was sealed shut which was the only thing blocking her team from the bridge.

Amelia, being the large target that she was, no doubt drew the majority of attention from the marines. Her armor was made to absorb significant levels of damage however, and was comprised of layers that would take time to break through for even the strongest of warriors. With this in mind, Amelia called out to her troops in their language "For The Light! To Battle!" before charging into the largest and nearest group of enemies, her massive axe swinging in wide arcs and circles in an endless dance of momentum and carnage.

Her warriors closest to her had brought their shields to bear upon the dropping foes, using them to block the blades meant for their bodies. Those behind them raised their weapons, in rifle state, to fire blasts of concentrated arcane energy at their foes. The arcane energy used by their rifles was of a unique form, in that it's primary element was kinetic. Sheer impact damage from those blasts would be enough to drive back most foes, and the only other element that was part of it's make up was electrical, designed to paralyse those it struck upon the flesh.
Other warriors had their shields and swords readied, and they rushed forward to meet their foes in singular combat. Thus the battle for the core had begun.

At the door to the helm, Erna knelt near the wall and closed her eyes. She sung a short spell of revealing, and when her silver eyes opened they shone with a light that shone through the solid door for her, revealing those within. She verified her targets, then released the spell and stood back. She commanded her troops to take position on other side of the door, five at each side with Calsai on one and herself at the other. She then looked to Morthen, "Breach it." She said, and the larger, thicker bodied warrior carrying the heavy weapon stepped to the door. The Gatling weapon he carried shifted states as he flipped it over his shoulder and aimed the barrel of the rear at the door. The weapon whirred for a few moments as it charged, before firing a scaled down version of the sunspear weapon into the door, melting through the material within seconds. Immediately after it had been melted through, Calsai and Erna both threw a pair of small black orbs into the opening. These orbs would land and roll, and as they did so, magical sigils would light up upon their surface. Six seconds later they would glow white hot and explode, throwing the molten hot shrapnel all about in a thirty foot area, killing everyone within fifteen feet and injuring the rest in range.

The marines in the core were met with the enemy attacks, some in flight were struck by the arcane energy shot at them. They were knocked back before landing on the ground paralyzed, although they would get up rather quickly to charge at the enemy. The marines that managed to make it into the enemy ranks collided with their shields, they would then land squarely on the ground and got into a fighting stance. Some marines targeting Amelia would note that their chain swords had little effect despite their efforts to cut through it. They would then meet a quick death when she would swing their axe in a large circle catching them off guard. Once The marines recognized the threat of the larger soldier, the sergeant of the squad armed with both a power sword and lightning claw attempted land a blow on her armor. The rest of the marines would then focus of the other soldiers and charge at them with relentless and powerful blows.

Meanwhile at the bridge, when the marines hear the sound of the door being melted, they would turn around just in time to see two black orbs land in the room. The Librarian reacted first channeling his psychic might and created a Force Dome, a white transparent sphere which easily protected them for harm, however since he used his powers while in transit through the war more demon swarmed the ship and began to warn more demons that there was a juicy soul on board the ship. Renalus knew this, however the only way to fight this new enemy is to take no chances. The marines Retaliated once the bombs went off and proceeded to use pillars and cover implemented in the ship in case they were boarded. Renalus and the team of Sword Brethren took cover and was willing to assault the enemy once they got into a more favorable position leaving the ten Initiates and Librarian to Participate in the firefight.

The Legion Warriors were adept at close combat before anything else, and in this they were in their element. Their shields were made to take the blows of mighty beasts without buckling, their swords made to cut through armor stronger than that they themselves wore. Despite all of this, the ferocity and strength behind the space marines attacks drove the warriors to fight at a standstill, unable to gain the upper hand, yet also giving no ground. Amelia continued to strike at opponents nearest to her, even going so far as to grab at a marine by his helmeted head swing him into his kin. When the Sergeant engaged her however, all of her attention was focused upon him. Fyrnskain were trained only to attack, and given armor meant to withstand assault as they seldom defended themselves. As such the sergeant would find it easy to land blows upon her person, the difficulty came in that his weapons simply were not strong enough to cut clean through the armor. It wouldn't do to say he did no damage, but rather that it was like chipping at a stone pillar. Given enough time he would topple his foe, but time was not something the sergeant would be permitted.

After the orbs had been thrown, Erna and Calsai fell back to the rear of the line at the wall. The Legion Warriors shifted their shields into the tall tower shields specializing in defense, then they had formed a column and began marching forward through the gap, using their shields to protect themselves and their brothers as they filed onto the bridge. As they all came in they formed an arc in the doorway. Erna and Calsai dove into the opening, tossing another pair of orbs behind the cover closest to the door, before rolling behind the shield wall. Morthen in his heavy assault armor stepped into the doorway, shifting his weapon back into Gatling form. He then began unleashing an unrelenting torrent of energy blasts at any marine foolish enough to poke out from cover. As he fired, heat built up in the barrel of his weapon, charging it's sunspear configuration.

The sergeant would be surprised that his power sword was not doing much damage, however in another second the sword would exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the sword. The next strike he would attempt if it connected, the sword would disrupt the molecular bonds of Amelia's armor, leaving his sword to actually tear through her armor almost like a hot knife through butter. The other marines were now in a standstill with their opponents, the marines that were shot down or knocked down by Amelia, would rejoin the fight to stop the enemy from destroying the core at all costs.

At the bridge, the marines took aim at the advancing column of soldiers, however their bolt round could not break through their armor. Seconds later when another orb landed behind one of the cover two Initiates hid behind, they knew their life and service wereover. They could try to escape to the next cover however the enemy proved themselves to be formidable opponents. The Initiates primed a grenade and tossed it over their cover in the center of the arc of units in front of the door way. they would then rise from their cover and unleashed a final barrage of bolt rounds before the enemy soldiers or the orb claimed their lives. "For the Emperor!" The marines cried out as their final words.

Renalanus clenched his fist once he saw this scene, but he had hoped his brothers sacrifice would not be in vain. If the enemy formation would scatter he would charge the enemy lines with Storm Shield at the ready and his Sword Brethren would teleport in the middle of the enemy ranks and begin cleaving enemy soldiers the second they appeared. If not, they would do the same anyways but with a much greater risk since the enemy formation would not be disrupted. "No pity! No remorse! NO FEAR! For the Emperor!"

As the power sword, enhanced with the disruptor energy, struck her armor it cleaved through with ease, severing straight through to her flesh and drawing blood. Amelia howled in pain, but the sergeant had made a terrible mistake. Fyrnskain are selected for their role for a lack of magical prowess and affinity, and most are incapable of even the most minor forms of magic. They make up for this by being trained in the use of an ancient ability known as the berserker rage. In her pain Amelia gained strength and fury, and she swung her axe with all her might, each swing ripping the very air with it's sheer power. Should any of the marines be unfortunate enough to fall into her reach, her axe would cleave them in twain.
The other soldiers, emboldened by Amelia's battle roar, began to fight with greater ferocity, and the battle would begin to tilt in favor of the Legion Warriors, less something was done soon.

The two orbs that were thrown were like the first, in that a few seconds after they had been thrown they exploded and sprayed white hot molten metal in a 30 foot area. The Grenades that were thrown into the midst of the warriors clattered to a halt before exploding, sending their own shrapnel and force into the warriors backs. Fortunately, Erna's wards absorbed the force and repelled the shrapnel, but their energy was spent, and the wards dispelled by the attack. Knowing now that her soldiers were vunerable, Erna called out orders in her peoples language. Ten warriors total were in the line, three of them pulled back from the arc. These three raised their shields up and, as those shields shifted and changed, slammed them into the ground where they deployed and formed stationary barriers. These self same warriors took their blades and shifted them into rifles, returning fire upon the enemy. Three more warriors pulled back behind the barriers and knelt down, each preparing a spell of some sort.
The remaining four raised their shields and charged forward towards the enemy positions. Calsai joined the charge forward, allowing his armor to take the brunt of whatever attacks the enemy launched at him. Morthen in the mean time flipped his weapon back onto his shoulder, having gathered enough charge for the sunspear to be fired again. He directed this attack at the largest group of enemies there was, and then fired the beam at their cover, which would quickly melt away and leave the enemy exposed.

Erna positioned herself behind Morthen, and prepared a new spell, one she hoped would assure their victory in this battle.

The sergeant would immediately recognize the danger when Amelia suddenly became enraged. He was too slow to dodge the axe however he attempted to block the axe from hitting him, however his blade would be knocked out of his hands and he would lose an arm in the process. The man did not yell in pain, instead he appeared to be the same before the fight started, calm and calculated. The sergeant backed off to avoid the berserkers rampage, and the marine unfortunate enough to pay attention to her were either to slow and were cleaved apart or were dealt with by the Legion soldiers when they had their guard down. Their numbers fell from 20 to ten and only two minutes has passed.

The sergeant, although badly wounded pulled out a Melta Bomb. A small explosive capable of punching holes through tanks. He would ten wait for an opputrunity when Amelia was in mid swing to rush at her, and he would if nothing interrupted him shove the Melta bomb in the area where he had cut her so he could take her out.

At the Bridge, once the Initiates behind the one of the pieces of cover were killed. More initiates, three of them behind cover were targeted by Morthen would relize their cover was melted and scrambled quickly to find cover while trying their best to shoot the enemy. The Sword Brethren would then teleport behind the enemy lines with Power Halberds at the ready, one such Sword Brethren appeared behind Morthen hoping to end him quickly before he could unleash another barrage. Renalus although wary that their formation was not broken, activated his Iron Halo and raised his Storm Shield before charging out of cover to meet the enemy head on to stop Calsai in his tracks while the Initiates and the Librarian would deal with the other four. The Librarian could feel an increase is something in the air, he could sense the enemy was using some sort of magic. He would channel his Psychic might and in doing so caused even more demons to swarm the ship and it soon attracted one of the enemies of the Imperium. he would then cast Dark Excommunication on the enemy ranks and forcibly severed their magical energies but it would only last a minute, a minute that the marines would not waste. However when the Librarian used more of his powers more demons were attracted to the ship, and more powerful demons were attracted and forcing trying in vain to force themselves through the Gellar Field....and something else was attracted, an enemy the Imperium knew well was also attracted.

The machine couldn't believe Ayanna's reaction to his attempt to bring peace, then again, the Dark Wings probably would have done something similar had he not mercilessly slaughtered every single one he encountered in the name of preserving humanity.

On Kinoko's transformation, Lucifer could read the energy output, at least in the aura and the way it was interacting with the environment around Kinoko. Though seeing the other being beheaded gave him pause. He'd seen her pull herself together before upon being split in half, so this did give him hope that she wasn't dead, but she did seem to be in great pain.

While Kinoko began her unrelenting assault on Ayanna he descended to examine Hana. With surprising gentleness for a machine he moved to pick up her severed head and gently place it near her body. He didn't say anything, his words had proven useless with this group, but at least a gesture of acceptance might help in some way. If Hana was watching him closely enough she'd be able to see he was slowly repairing himself, the crack in his right eye lense was shrinking and his armor was slowly rebuilding itself.

Amelia rampaged through the enemy's ranks, blood leaking from the gash in her armor on her side. She continued to roar and shout, the force of each swing of her axe enough to cause the air to gust about her. In one swing the sergeant dashed forward and placed a bomb into the crack in her armor, but enraged as she was Amelia did not even notice it, until it had detonated and began melting her cooking her from the inside. Her armor, made of starsteel and able to absorb near limitless amounts of energy was all but unaffected by the bomb. Her body however nearly evaporated as it did its work. She grimaced and continued fighting a few more steps, but very quickly she fell to the ground, defeated. The other soldiers were only driven further into fury by her defeat, as they continued to press their advantage. Two of the warriors shifted their blades into spears and threw them at the sergeant. As they flew through the air the haft of the weapon burned off like a rocket driving the blade towards the sergeant in an attempt to impale him with the blade, the outer layer of which had burned in temperature until the material was in a plasma state. In another moment later that blade would explode, driving lightning hot shrapnel through everything in twenty meters, killing anyone caught in the blast.

On the bridge, a shock went through Erna's body as she was cut off from her magic. The other warriors felt the same effect, and quickly grabbed their spears again. Not a moment too soon, as the sword brothers who teleported behind their barrier line had caught them by surprise, and they were now hard pressed defending themselves. Morthen was busy laying down more fire upon the initiates who had left their destroyed cover, but Erna covered his back. She parried the strike directed for him, then drove her thin yet stout blade clean through the marines chest and into his heart, before removing him from her blade with her boot. Meanwhile Calsai clashed with Renalus and grinned at him. "I heard Ayanna brought you down in less than a minute, I seek to beat that time" He growled at the marshal, spinning to his right and bringing his left foot up and around to kick at his opponents side. The other warriors met their opponents in likewise combat.

Wing City often found itself the venue for the next big war, a victim of senseless violence and mayhem. The civilian populace always found themselves in danger of death, of losing those they held dearest to that violence and mayhem.

A dark figure shot out of the sky and came to crash into the street, debris exploding up into the air and then raining back down in chunks. When it began to clear there was a crater in the street, standing in it was a woman donning body armor colored deep orange over a black jumpsuit.

Holsters covered her body, a dozen handguns tucked into each. They glimmered in whatever light was nearby. Sometimes blinding those that found their attention focused on the pristine weapons instead of the piercing green eyes of the woman barely hidden beneath the gas mask that covered her face.

The armored woman was a harbinger of things to come. An omen. Simultaneously, she was a beacon of hope to the people of Wing City.

There would be no more senseless violence and mayhem as long as she was there. No more wars. No more loved ones to be buried in graveyards.

Several wormholes opened high up in the sky directly above the harbinger, each glowing and swirling with orange energy. Crackling with artificial lightning.

Dozens and dozens of small fighters and bombers flew from the wormholes, all of them flying in formation that clearly indicated that they were ready for a fight.

They were followed by one large ship. It was nearly a hundred kilometers in length, casting a large shadow over the city. And then came another. And another.

A dozen more of the ships came into view from wherever they were in the wormholes. Half flew further up into the sky, the others were content to eclipse the city until they were no longer needed.

Until the fighting that was causing so much damage to the city was no more.

The Invictus were back and they were not happy with what they were seeing.

As all this occurred, Hastur watched, having noticed the Dark Queen had opted to completely vanish, leaving him to watch the chaos. When the blast flew at him, he watched as it attempted to entrap him, but he merely gestured and immediately the shield shattered like glass. Below there was great deal of chaos, so much sabre rattling combined with ego who believed themselves superior. It was rather dull affair, but it was five times more enjoyable than anything else happening in the whole cosmic reality. Nonetheless the arrival of the Invictius seemed to interest him as he peered up, "Finally worthy pieces."

Below the tribbles had started at 100, one been murdered point blank, but they were now 500 tribbles on the ground and being they were carniverous they were attacking anyone nearby as well as eating through the building. Any matter living, material or otherwise was their target. Of course the attempts to kill them and stop them multiplying was doable, but getting them all that was the issue.

Hastur did not doubt for one second though Wing City could not be saved. In fact he somewhat could admire their reseilents despite everything the city goes through on a daily basis.

The sergeant succeeded in defeating his opponent, however since it took him enough energy just to bring her down he could not avoid the two spears flung at him, he smiled under his helmet and spoke. "Emperor preserve me..." and with those words said he was impaled and his life ended on the spot. For the remaining marines, the sight of their sergeant getting killed after doing such a deed inspired the five remaining marines. The remaining marines continued to fight with all they had, their improved vigor allowed them to slip by some of the warriors and drive their weapons through any weak point their eyes could pick up.

On the Bridge, the Sword Brethren that had been stabed through his heart was still surprisingly standing. Unknown to her space marines did not have one heart but two hearts, even if one fails the other can easily keep a marine alive and on his feet. The marine would then bring down his power halberd this time directed at Erna with more speed and it began to exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the halberd.

Renalus chuckled when Calsai taunted him. "She may have, but just to have you know I could have killed her any time I wanted to. I needed a warm up thats why." He taunted back and as he watched as the man tried to plant a kick to his side, he in return would bring his sword to bear against his leg which was now in the air. For the Initiates, when the enemy closed on them, they switched to close combat knifes and rushed the enemy warriors. The Librarian held his Force Staff which began to exude a hazy, blue-coloured field of energy that wrapped around the point of his staff and brung his staff down on the legion warrior that would challenge him.

In the Mists of the chaos, the Gellar Field would short out for less than a nano second, however that nano second was all one figure needed to appear in the ship. A rift opened up in the ship and a Chaos Lord warped inside the Gellar Field room armed with lighting claws and exuded an aura of death and bloodlust. [color=red][font=myriad]"Hello..."Brothers"..." The man spoke with malice in his voice. "Heretic! Warn the Marshal! He must---" Before the marine could finsih the Chaos Lord close in and buried his claws inside the marines chest before ripping him apart in two.

"Marshal! A Chaos Lord Appeared in the Gellar room! Be wa---" A marine speaking through the bridges communications system tried to warn them but before he could finish all they could hear was gurgling blood.
