Ebba Moore's Story

Ebba had swam off to a secret cove by the town of Silvermoon Harbor. It was small town by the sea. The medieval era still had its claws around the sleepy town, but it had begun to let loose bit by bit and in some places a bit of modern era buildings stood, but all matched the look that took over the rest of town. Taverns, markets, small schools, and other places littered the streets. By the sea the docks and fish markets bordered the port on one side, a beautiful beach in the middle, and a cliff on the other side that looked over the ocean. Most people still dressed in the medieval clothing and it was very easy to spot the tourist.

Ebba had been forbidden to come anywhere near the shore or even eyesight of it, but here she was in the small secret cove just outside of the harbor. She had managed to sneak here a few times and even brought some clothing articles, that she had made herself, from her home and stashed them near so she wouldn't run around completely naked. She scooted herself on shore and out of sight till her tail dried completely before running to her stash and dressing. The dress was a dull color compared to what she usually wore. She tied her hair up in a braided updoand smiled before running off to the town.

A small pouch of sea treasure was tied at her hip. Ebba had made friendly with a collector and she would trade her things in for human money in order to buy human things. People stared at her like always and when she went up to the friendly familiar face she clapped her hands and smiled, "I have got some stuff for you!" She said in a cheerful tone. Her hand dug in her pouch and retrieved a number of gorgeous shells and a few jewelry pieces. Finery bellowed out a great big laugh. His mouth had always disappeared under his massive grey and white beard.

"These are a beauty, Ebba! Here," He said and handed her a good bit of cash for her deliveries. "These will surely bring in some cash. Thank you, deary! I am always grateful for your finds. Until next time!" He said.

"Until next time," Ebba replied and waved goodbye as she made her way into the crowd.

The smells of fish and water fowl filled Cynthia's nose as she walked along the road to the small coastal town of Silvermoon Harbor. What an interesting name... Cynthia thought. The two things that had the most effect over her yet she was going right towards it...

Cynthia had the look of a huntress wearing black fur armor with a bow and arrows on her back and a long dagger on her hip. She wore a backpack that was full of skins and furs. It was them that brought the young huntress into town. She headed in towards the market where she was sure to find someone to sell her furs too.

Ebba was looking around as she walked, checking to see where she wanted to spend her money when she accidentally bumped into someone. She turned around to see who she hit and smiled. It was a woman with fur and pale skin. She was a bit taller than, but it was her eyes that caught her attention. "So sorry about that, Ma'am." She smiled.

Cynthia was nearing the market when something bumped into her. Her Icy blue eyes landed on the one that bumped into her. Cynthia looked over the woman as she apologized taking in her look and scent. The woman smelled of the sea but her dress didn't seem that of a Fisher. Cynthia turned her head like a confused dog would before she spoke " It's fine no worries miss..."

Ebba was going to continue walking when she turned back around. "Hi! I am Ebba Moore I am... uhm from around. Are you new around here? I see you might have some stuff to sell." She said and smiled. "I come to see Finery to sell all my goods. Or he might know someone who would like them." She said with a big smile.

"Ebba? Well nice to meet you... My name is Cynthia..." Cynthia said "I came here to sell furs and skins if you you think this friend of yours will buy them then do show me the way.."
Cynthia was sizing Ebba up the entire time she was talking. Something was odd about this woman but it was something even beyond her acute sense.

Ebba smiled, "Well come on. Those look heavy." She walked through the crowd and kept looking back so she didn't lose the new girl, but it looked like she was following along just fine. Finery looked up from what he was doing and saw Ebba first. "Oh ho ho, got some more treasure for me already?" He smiled. "I might be fast, but I am not that fast." She giggled and turned to Cynthia. "This is Cynthia. She has some furs and skins she needs to sell. I was wondering if you or anyone you know would be willing to buy them." She said. He looked at the girl behind Ebba and smiled, "Well let me take a look at the skins and furs. I just might buy some off of ya." He said happily.

Cynthia followed Ebba though the market until they arrived at Finery's shop. After introductions where made Cynthia pulled off her backpack and began to pull out the furs.
"It was good hunting..." Cynthia said as she placed the furs one at a time on Finery's table. There where skins and furs of deer, beaver, and other such creatures. A few of the furs had claw marks on them as if a predator had gotten to the animal before Cynthia had. Truth of the matter was Cynthia didn't always use her bow to hunt...

Ebba and Finery had leaned down to look at the furs. Finery poked at the claw marks and looked up at the girl next to Ebba before going about and looking at the others. "Well... the ones with claw marks are manageable. My wife can still do things with them." He said and went to get her money. "See!" Ebba said happily. "I told you I would find you someone who was willing to buy them!" She said and turned back around when she heard him come back. He handed Cynthia her money and smiled. "Thank your for trading with us and come again! Those furs and skins were lovely." He chuckled.

It was good to have her pack lightened and her coin purse filled. But now with that out of the way Cynthia was unsure what to do. This Ebba seemed to know her way around and was friendly... almost to friendly. But no matter Cynthia turned to Ebba. " So you seem to know your way around this place... What's there to do around here for fun?"

Ebba looked up at the girl and thought, "Uhm... well I only come like... once a month if that. My parents forbid me to come here, but I think I am old enough to make my own decisions." She smiled. "Uhm... the food is good. There is a lady who lets you make your own pottery. Uhm..." She looked up at the girl. What would be fun for her? She thought. "If you like there is fishing and uhm... there are a couple taverns." She was getting nervous.

"Parents are overprotective so I hear..." Cynthia said. "My parents died when I was young. The druid that raised me knows well I can't be keep on a leash even if she wanted to try..."

Cynthia sighed "But enough about the past we should go do something before your parents send out a search party or something." She teased "And you Know a good warm meal sounds really great about now."

Ebba tilted her head and blinked, thinking about her parents made what Cynthia said very true. Though she did almost get caught by a sailor before so in a way she could understand her parents wanting to be over protective. Blinking she looked up at Cynthia. "I... very much hope they do not send a party. That would be so bad." She said before taking Cynthia's hand and smiling. "I know a great place that everyone hangs out and they have really good food!" She smiled and dragged the pale girl along to restaurant that sounded lively. After searching for sometime they found a table and was given menus. "Ahhh I hope you like it!" Ebba giggled.

Cynthia chuckled at Ebba's comment. "I'm sure we'll be fine besides I was just teasing ya a bit anyway."
Cynthia took in the sights, sounds, and smells of the restaurant as she quickly changed the subject. "Nice place let's hope it tastes as good as it smells."

Cynthia took her seat and looked over the menu. It was much better looking than the raw deer and rabbits she had been used to for the last few weeks. Her eyes looked over the menu til she saw a meal of steak and shrimp with some kind of pasta. "I take the this" Cynthia stand pointing it out to the server "With a nice wine for my friend here and I" she added with a little wink towards Ebba.

Ebba looked over the menu and thought it over. When Cynthia began to talk she looked up and watched her talk to the waitress. Ebba wasn't expecting the wink and blushed before going back down to the menu. "Uhm... I will take the... Grilled Sea Bunnies with the sides of... Fried Potatoes and a Salad." She said softly before giving the waitress her menu. Once she was gone she looked back at Cynthia, "So... where are you from? Are you a long ways from home?" She asked.

Cynthia thought about how to answer Ebba her face darkened. "I had a home once...now I travel where the hunt leads me. I go where the wilds take me. I roam the lands never staying long in one place." Cynthia paused and smiled "But sometimes I seek the cities spend some time with others so I don't become completely insane."

Cynthia chuckled " But enough about me.. where is it you hail from Ebba?"

Ebba blinked she was an interesting one this Cynthia. She smiled and looked up when the waitress came back with their drinks then told them their food will be out shortly before leaving. Ebba turned her smile back to Cynthia. "I am from... a town next to here. By the ocean actually." She said and took a wiff of the wine before slowly taking a sip. She never had this wine water before, but it was a lovely taste. "Mmm this wine water tastes really good." She smiled.

Cynthia thanked the waitress before turning her attention back to Ebba. She took a sip of her wine as she listened to Ebba. "Sounds nice, I'd love to visit ...the ocean is beautiful to look at...though I'm more of a forest girl myself." Cynthia said as Ebba took a drink.
The comment Ebba made after her tasting caused Cynthia to give her an odd look. "Never had wine before? And wines are made from grapes... Never heard it called wine water before...

Ebba's smile soften, "I... am afraid you won't ever be able to visit." She said softly. She put her glass down and cupped her hand on her lap. "Well... it is like water, no? The way it freely moves. And you do call it wine... is it not wine water? Or rather... grape water?" She asked, a tad bit confused.

Cynthia shrugged "Good point" she said then frowned. "I do wonder why you would say I could never come to your town though I mean if they are all as nice as you how can there be any reason for me not to be allowed to visit?" Cynthia was quite puzzled over why a village would turn her away.... without knowing her werewolf side that is.
