Egil's family has served the monarchy for more generations than anyone can recall. And through the years, there has always been some mystery as to what, exactly, they do. The Randulfrs are not diplomats, and they are rarely placed at the heads of armies. But whatever secret purpose they serve, the family has maintained a comfortable position as a reward: land, an estate, and privacy. Unless the whole clan is needed (which has not happened in decades) one representative lives at court, ready to serve the reigning monarch. At the moment, and for several years now, that representative is Egil.
