Elandis

"Some tasks are too dark for even the Devil to undertake... That is why he has me."

Description

Atreviel, The Blade of Dusk.

When Lucifer was cast from heaven he took with him his armor, his wings, and his sword, all given to him by god. The armor is hidden, the wings are apparent, but the sword, which had stood for Lucifer's devotion and service to his father, filled him with loathing at it's very existence. He despised it as a reminder that He had been little more than a tool to do another's will. So, as the blade was a tool to fulfill his will, Lucifer would have two tools of his own, the same to him as he was to god. The power of the blade he gave consciousness with his voice, but the physical weapon he reforged using his own blood to create the perfect living weapon.

Elandis is physically strong, invincible, and immortal. He can rip human beings in half with no more effort than it would take to tear tissue paper. He strides the earth covering yards in less time that it takes a heart to beat, and can run as such forever if he needs to. To sustain this perfect form requires sustenance in the form of blood taken from his foes. Like a vampire he feeds upon the blood of the living to sustain his own accursed strength. But where a vampire is harmed by the sun, by a cross and garlic and holy water, Elandis takes no notice of it. He is no more a vampire than a stone statue is alive, as that is all Elandis is, a lifeless, soulless construct bound to the will of the King of Lies.

So begins...

"The fact that you even dare to persist in this place, when you know full well that you are not welcome, is an offense of itself. That you are not bound and bloodied as we speak is nothing short of a miracle, granted to you only by the grace of The King." Spoke a voice that had no source, and echoed off the very air itself.

"Calm thyself, Atreviel. The King asked us to return in peace. And while the definition of human words may change with time, I doubt that he intends for us to harm his visitors, especially not while the esteemed Abaddon holds charge." Spoke another voice, this one coming from far end of the hall. It's speaker was a strange creature, horned and rippling with muscle, yet it's movements were graceful and lithe, unmistakably predatory. The creatures eyes were green and held an unwavering intelligence and will behind it.

"Such an affront to king should not be allowed to stand... But if it is by the Kings own order, I shall let it pass unmolested... for now." Said the voice that had no source. It would be then that Abaddon would recognize an irregularity, to her left, a bit lower from where the raised dais was that the throne sat upon, was a shadow that had no cause. This shadow did not move and was not shaped to any particular form.

Rushed out from the entrance to the throne room, out of breath and sweating. "Luuuuux!" He groaned, keeling over to catch his breath as he looked up. "I'm ah...sorry I'm late! Had some important business to take care of. Aha...ahaha..." He laughed, nervous and not content with this scene he was making for himself. She was talking to someone however, and as he regained his breath he stood up straight and walked over a tad confused.

"Eh? Lux, who is this you're talking with? And ah...what's she doing on the throne? I think I may have missed something...or maybe my mind is just blanking, what are we doing here again?"

Of course she been expecting to meet the Twin Anti-Christ, but these two were unknown to her. Abaddon rarely displayed curiosity but even she was partially intrigued by this. Nonetheless her expression remained motionless, although with the arrival the second twin, a look of pure disgust rang out as she spoke with rage, "Respect your betters little imp. At least your sister can show the proper decorum when speaking to a Prince. My appearance means nothing, the title is merely that a title." growling smoke flew from her surrounding the room in pitch blackness leaving only the Throne and little more bright, "I am Abaddon, Prince of Destruction. You two are aberrations. Heirs you may be but I value first impressions and your Brother Lux has shown himself to be an utter asinine moron. No... retard, was he dropped by his naive Mother and their blasphemy of an union? Shameless jezebels indulging in sapphic taboos and birthing children from it. It makes me utterly sick." finally her focus moved to Lux.

"You on the other hand have some hope and understand the correct decorum... I saw both your Mothers... and they were naive and utterly contempitible but if you are willing to move on, there may be hope for you..." pausing she could see the masked hatred and it made her little euphoric, "Oh yes things have changed... YOUR MOTHERS ARE TO BLAME... Hell once had order, but if you dare pretend I cannot read an act little girl... I will sooner dunk you in River Styx and let them tear you apart..."

Now to others, "New faces of loyalty, amazing what comes out of the wood-work, but perhaps you two could be of use... there is problems in Hell... huge problems..." seeing their expression she continued, "Two mortals wander through Hell without escort and a certain being decided to overtake Wrath to save the souls... if you are wishing to act in his name... sort them out..." again a pause, "Also, no affront is acceptable, but evidently these two heirs are as dangerous as Cerebrus Pups... I now have decided that with how things look I was wise to build up an old bridge..."

When the second brother arrived, the predatorial being looked over at him with a raised brow before smirking. "Ahh, how I envy the youth of this age, so utterly clueless and beyond redemption. Enjoy yourself while you can child, before long you will have to grow up and accept the reality of how completely worthless your existence is... Or maybe you'll prostrate yourself before the king and find the joy of service, who knows."

Then the being stepped forth and kneeled before the throne. "Hail, Abaddon, Prince of Destruction, Advocate and watcher of the throne of The king. I am Elandis, The Blade of Dawn"
The shadow moved itself to a position before Abaddon, where in a shade, a wraith as it were, took physical form and kneeled before her. "I am Atreviel, The Blade of Dusk"

Then both called out together. "We are at the service of the King."

"The mortals are known to us, and shall be dealt with." Elandis spoke. "But do you wish them dealt with quietly, or made an example of?"

Atreviel had faded once more, and the shadow was no longer to be seen. However both Lux and Tenebris would feel a distinct chill down their spine, as though a ghost were standing near at hand, and watching them with hunger.

Atreviel’s voice caught Lux by surpise, but it only vaguely showed on her face, befor she reigned it in hard, she turned her gaze to the second voice. Her eyes watched the creature and she admired it’s grace, tho not openly. She held the same , distantly bored expression she had before.

The shadow with no cause gave her a moments pause tho. She’d have to be much more cautious around here.

As if nails rang out on a hundred chalk boards her brother voice echoed through the halls.
A modified expression contorted her placid face, pure , unquenchable fury blazed in her eyes as she glared at her fool brother.

“ We are here, brother dearest, to beg forgiveness for our foolish----” she immediately cut her sentence short as the woman on the throne spoke.

Her expression held firm as she took the verbal beating, she let the anger she felt roll over her and simply bent in it’s whirlwind, never letting it show on her face. She simply accepted it in full that she was in the wrong. Tho she full heartedly agreed with the woman on her brother conduct. She'd have to have a word with him later.

The other two adults… if that was a proper term for them, spoke and lux held her plight , she was going to go about the bits of begging and scraping that was proper but felt it was probably wiser to not interrupt. She waited, hands folded neatly infront of her, she resisted to urge to fret with her dress and the two beings pronounced themselves men of the king. She made note of their names and what abilities they flaunted.

The man faded and ice slowly crept its way through Lux’ spine, She didn’t let it affect her in the slightest but she realized exactly how much work it was going to be to do what she pleased…

She would remain quiet until she was addressed again. Still as a statue she was.

His demeanor shifted completely at the attitude directed his way, he wasn't so sure how to feel about this in its entirety. Between the insults directed their way (mostly his way), and now the chill that ran down his spine...it was all a bit overwhelming.

Tenebris decided speaking wasn't his strong suit in this situation, that was mostly his sister...he, on the other hand, was way too relaxed and way too unsociable to do any sort of negotiating of the sort. He, on the other hand, tried to look relaxed as he was completely still and silent for the current situation...The last thing he needed to do was anger the lady on the throne again, that and it sounds like he screwed with whatever Lux was working on. Sorry sis! he mentally apologized, gulping heavily as he shifted in place.

Glaring Abaddon still sat on the throne regarded them all, "I don't care how you two deal with them. Although I do suspect this is little to do with Lucifer and more perhaps a show of power against Erebuz. One of those beings is more powerful than any of us in this place. Speak to them, find out their intention if intent in helping fight that entity, help them. As for Wrath, that must be dealt with in efficient manner. I don't care how, but Wrath cannot be purified like Violence is. The armies of Hell after all need be united and full power." pausing the darkness grew thicker around me as she suddenly appeared next to both twins, "I am feeling lenient currently since things are progressing. Prove yourself, both of you and unconsecrate Violence. I shall leave how to your imagination. Do this and I you will be redeemed. Fail and you were always useless and would not have made a difference."

Appearing on the Throne her red eyes glowed darkly, "CLASS DISMISSED." with that the whole room with fill with cruel darkness and any trace of Abaddon was left hidden in the unerring mist.

"As the regent commands" Said Elandis.
"For the king" Said Atreviel.

Atreviel was nowhere to be seen, so whether he departed and to where was unknown, the only hint of it being that the chill of fear the children of lilith felt was suddenly lifted.
Elandis stood and walked out the door to the hall, completely unphased by the darkness Abaddon had drawn. Being a creature of the night, He took the darkness as a gift from the Regent, and reveled in it. As he passed the children of Lilith he smiled at them, his eyes glowing a dull red, and said "You two might want to hurry and redeem yourselves. Abaddon is far more lenient than the king, and if your still in hell when he returns, you will be suffering a long and painful punishment."

And then the Blade of Dawn departed the sanctum of hell.

"Hello Gentlemen. My name is Elandis, and you two happen to be trespassing in the kings domain." Called a voice to the pair of fools who walked through Lux. The voice was attached a person when out of the winds, completely unaffected by them, stood a man that looked more like a predatory beast. Horns curved from his temples, and pure white hair was tied in a long pony tail down his pack. Black leather pants where his only form of clothing. Talons stretched from his fingers, and his feet were cloven. His body was rippling with muscle, quite literally. It looked as though his skin had pulled so tightly to his body that every line of muscle was accentuated, giving him a very frightening appearance.

He stepped towards the two travelers and smiled at them saying "Perhaps you two would like to follow me to a quieter location, where we could talk without having to shout over the winds? Then you could explain your reasons for being here, and if within my power I could aid you on your way home."

There was a silent beat in the air when the demon ceased talking, then Ezrael turned his head towards Jean-Paul. The Frenchman looked back at him. Ezrael made a 'well?' gesture at him. Jean-Paul shrugged. And in Ezrael's mind that settled it.

A finger extended from a balled fist to whisk some magic about his throat and mouth, acting as an amplifier for his voice so that he would boom over the top of the wind. "I hadn't realized hell was a bureaucracy, but I suppose it makes sense. Nothing is more torture than a series of sectioned off independently functioning and non-communicating groups claiming to work organically as a professional organization. Perhaps he hasn't filled out the forms yet, but not even five minutes ago we just explain our reasons for being in hell to Minos."

He paused, for effect. "So please, lead on to this 'quiet place' so I can explain one last time my reasons for being here, and then hopefully you can print off a guest ID so we can continue without further interruption." Finish being obnoxious, he lowered his finger and folded his arms, waiting for the demon to lead.

Jean-Paul simply watched passively on.

Elandis Bowed before the two men, and then began leading them in a slight angle to the path they had been taking. Only several yards away, almost completely obscured by the wind and a strange haze, was a small straw hut. It was a simple structure, made of straw and little else, it had a ornate curtain to serve as a door. Elandis stepped aside and opened the curtain, bowing and gesturing to the gentlemen to enter. Inside were a pair of soft cushioned chairs, a table, and a small basin holding clean water. Upon the table sat two bottles of wine, a pair of glasses, a chessboard with all it's pieces, and a small hourglass timer. It was quiet inside, the noise of the wind muted and far off, and pleasantly warm, though a mild mildew smell pervaded the single room.

Elandis gestured would then gesture to the pair of chairs before apologizing. "I'm quite sorry, these huts are for my associates and my own use, and as theres only two of us we rarely furnish them for guests. You may take one of the bottles of wine with you, if you wish, to share between the two of you. The glasses also you may use, I'll take mine straight from the bottle. Perhaps, if time allows we might even get to use the chess board, it's been far too long since Atreviel and I have played, busy as we've been."

The duo followed inside the hut in silence, suspicion much more obvious on Ezrael's face while Jean-Paul's remained obscured, but there was no doubt his opinion on the matter.

"Forgive me for rejecting your hospitality," Ezrael answered almost casually, "But the fact is I wish not for delays. I am going to Lucifer himself with personal requests. Deals with the devil, and all that. The priest is my insurance. Once I have seen Lucifer, I'll be on my way, as quite frankly this place has been rather unwelcoming. I know, fancy that, hell, unwelcoming." He shrugged with a curt smile.

Jean-Paul took this opportunity to sit, as his legs were sore. Not from carrying his weight though, the suit did all that. He was just tired of having them stretched out straight and wanted a chance to bend them without squatting or kneeling. "Who is Atreviel? And who are you? I do not mean names," the Frenchman spoke coldly.

Elandis smiled at them, taking the bottle from the table. He popped the cork off with apparent ease and took a long drink before answering either of them. "I shall answer your companions question, as it may provide you with information you find useful. My name is Elandis, my brother is Atreviel, and we are many things. We are Envoys, Assassins, Soldiers, Advisers, Spies, and whatever else Lord Lucifer requires. We are the blades of the King, his loyal hands, enforcing his will and ensuring his success, in this and all endeavors. I am the Blade of Dawn, used for matters needing a subtle touch, a compassionate soul, and a caring heart. In this you were lucky, for if my brother were commanded to find you, then you would have died and had your souls devoured before you could have even blinked." He turned and smiled a genuine smile at them. "That would have been very unfortunate, as then I wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting with you."

Elandis once again gestured to the chair and table. "Are you quite sure you do not with to take a seat, I assure you that we will be here awhile, especially if your aim is to see Lucifer. For you see, I was sent to parlay with you in his stead, as he is not even in hell at the moment. Business afar has taken him from us for the time being, and the time of his return is yet unknown. At the moment, the appointed regent Abaddon sits the throne, and I assure you whatever it is you wish to ask of our king, you will not receive it from Her. Indeed you'd be lucky to even get the chance to kneel at her feet before she were to turn your body to ashes."

At this Elandis once again took a drink. "Ahh... This has been sitting here for almost seven thousand years... beautiful." He sighed, smiling at the bottle. "Perhaps you'd share with me your reasons for seeking the King, I might be able to assist you in that, at least. Oh and for the record, Minos holds no authority in this domain, so his claim that you may pass was both false and a ruse, as he had expected you to be set upon by this realms denizens. And while I have no doubt that your friend in the fancy armor is quite strong, even he would not be able to fight his way through the endless hordes."

Ezrael let one eye raise as the demon spoke, then let it fall flat once more, unimpressed and unconcerened. "Abaddon, then. We will meet with her. It needs not be Lucifer, but whoever currently presides over hell." However, this demon seemed to be helping them enough and it would be rude to refuse his offer. "I'll have a glass of wine, if it would not be too much trouble."
"Ezrael."
"Yes Jean-Paul?"
"Are you going to correct him?"
"No Jean-Paul."
"Do not drink that wine."
Ezrael's head turned about to look at Jean-Paul deadpan. "You care for my safety now?"
"I want you dead. But wine must be turned, or it will taste like shit."
"I thought that was a myth?"
Jean-Paul stared, though it was hard to tell if he was unimpressed behind the helmet.

Elandis smiled and chuckled. "A fellow connosiour, how wonderful. And you are correct, wine must be turned lest it turn sour. But I assure you that this wine is not sour, and is entirely safe for mortals, so long as you do not drink too much." Elandis took the bottle that yet remained on the table and poured full the two glasses, picking one up and offering it to Ezreal.

Once he had taken it, Elandis would then continue. "As I said, however, seeing Abaddon is not entirely within your best interest, as she detests and loathes mortals, and would sooner see you gutted and strewn about the halls as christmas decorations." He then took another drink before saying "Just between us in this room, I find her to be rather distasteful. She and our King were close, once, but she took a step too far and was punished for it. She spent a long time sitting, and as nobody came to turn her, she has gone quite sour." The Blade of Dawn smirked at his analogy.

Ezrael raised his arms in a half-shrug. "Immortal is a relative term. I am unaging and I suspect should I be stricken with anything fatal I would be capable of transferring my conscious to another being, as I have before, albeit with some aid. I even have connection to demons, as I was born with one or through one, or half of one. I am not concerned." He picked the glass up for a small sip, only for his face to cringe. The alcohol was unfamiliar to him, as he had only drank at length once before, and that had left him with the most horrendous feeling ever the morning after. Choosing not to revisit such an occasion, he offered the glass to Jean-Paul, who actually accepted it.

"So I suppose I am immortal, and we can just have the priest wait outside on a leash."

Jean-Paul looked at the wine and raised it to examine it, then lowered it once more, muttering something under his breath muffled by the suit as a hand passed over the wine.

Elandis actually nodded at Jean-Paul. "Uneasy at being offered wine in hell, in the circle of lust no less. I can understand your caution, I applaud it in fact, as caution is an admirable trait, one that bespeaks a sensible mind. All of which will make our dealing easier and smoother to perform."

Elandis Clapped his hands, and his shadow raised itself from the ground. This shadowform then pulled another chair out from within itself and set it behind Elandis before he sat down. "To that end, I again implore you to share with me what it is you wish to ask of my King. I am authorized by his majesty to do much on his behalf, and if whatever you need is within my power to permit, I will be more than happy to aid you. In this way I could spare you much pain and unnecessary walking, as I can assure you Abaddon will not be pleasant to deal with."

Elandis also pulled another bottle from his shadow, this one however was small, clay, and unlabeled. This he handed to Ezreal, saying "water for the parched throat, I have no doubt the wind of luxaria was not kind to you."

Ezrael rolled his eyes just slightly, then took a step towards Elandis, or more actually to stand between Elandis and Jean-Paul. It looked as if he wa taking centre stage but his purpose was deception, and not deception of Elandis, but of Jean-Paul. "There is a soul within hell that I wish to retreive belonging to a boy known as Ezrael Flavaar. It has personal value to me. Secondly I have two questions that I am certain only the ruler of hell can answer for very sensible reasons. I have a worthy payment in return." His eyes flicked to the side twice, indicating Jean-Paul.

"The questions will only be asked once I have the boys soul."

Jean-Paul reached to take the water in his hand. "I have water inside the suit," he answered, though he failed to say what for or where. In truth, it was a weapon, holy water stored in one of the compartments to deter unholy abominations. He had blessed it himself, as he was doing to the wine and would do to the water before drinking it. He just had to hope it had no mundane poisons in it. That would be a kick in the teeth.

Elandis nodded to Ezrael, indicating he understood, he then reached into his shadow and pulled an orb of solid black granite. This he would hand to Ezrael, telling him "Speak the name in clear tones, and say "You are called and shall be known", the orb will then reveal the soul in question, if they reside in hell. If not then it shall do nothing. If the soul does indeed reside in hell, then it may also reveal where, in which case I shall gladly escort you to see them. However," And here he raised a finger and pointedly looked at Ezrael, "Whether or not that soul can be retrieved depends on several factors, not just payment. The ruler of the particular circle must also be willing to accept payment."

Elandis then sighed and took another drink. "Unfortunately, if the ruler decides not to relinquish the soul for the payment offered, then the situation becomes entirely more complicated. They may decide to simply kill you and take your soul, they might choose to make a counteroffer, or they may decide not to give the soul up for anything. In the last case there would be very little you could do."

"Also, depending on who the particular ruler is and what circle they belong to, I may or may not be allowed to assist you. If the ruler has pledged fealty to the King, then my hands will be tied without direct order from his majesty. If they are one of the rebels, then I will be able to assist you in any action you choose to take in direct conflict with that particular individual."

Jean-Paul's blessing on the wine would take hold as, he would no doubt notice, the wine was not from hell, but derived from the mortal realms and being of no more than simple making, though truly well aged in its own right.

A figure appeared in the room, silently and without warning. "Greeting Lord Lucifer, I have gathered---Wait a second..." The figure announced itself but turned silent once it scanned the room. Lucifer was no longer in the throne room and there were a couple of new arrivals, possibly more demons that heard the lords call since no mortal could ever hope to enter the lords palace.

Duriel decided to remain silent for the moment unless asked, he was here to report to Lucifer that he had successfully gathered all of his followers. It had taken some effort on his part and was late to report to him and he would not give no excuse for the time it took. But it was better to receive a punishment then death for not returning at all, but for now all he had to do was wait for him to arrive but a question struck him. Where did he go? After all this time he appears then disappears again, perhaps something urgent came up? That was certainly the case surely.
