Elise Linnet

An odd looking misfit.

0 · 452 views · located in Tauvyr Tavern

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Coloratura

Description

Image

Elise is seventeen years old and human,
Pretty pale skin with somewhat rosy cheeks,
slight dark circles under her dark eyes caused by exhaustion.
Elise has full lips of a pinkish color.
Her eyes are an odd sort, mossy green,
but her left eye is permanently dilated
from an injury, leading to one eye that is a normal green color
and the other looking black and simply having a green ring around it.
Often wearing closely fitting straight legged black denim jeans and
New Wave, Punk rock, or Glam rock band T shirt.
She wears her black hair in a quiff style
(the only difference from the photo is that she has no red stripe in her hair)

Personality

Headphones rarely leave their place on her neck, she's constantly listening to music,
like any teenager would be, though she absolutely detests modern pop,
much preferring older rock.
Elise has a history of mental illness and has been commited many times
leading to her running away from home, She is a paranoid Schizophrenic,
who has often occuring hallucinations and hears voices in her mind,
but has not broken the law or hurt anyone as a result of her disease
and tends to but rather docile and seem eccentric at first glance
one would have to converse with her for a time before they noticed
something truly wrong. Her Schitzophrenia seems to have been caused by a hereditary gene for the mental affliction,
which was only activated upon her taking an extreme dose of LSD.

Equipment

Nothing much, just an mp3 player and wallet.

History

Elise is a teenage runaway, possibly from Liverpool, UK.
(Much more will be added soon)

So begins...

Elise Linnet ‘s voice could have just about broken glass at this point, simply with its immense anger and volume “You…You’re ….!” The punky teen looked utterly perplexed a moment then calmed down for a whole of ten seconds “Either one of my most complex delusions, In that case the card is no proof…” but then she lit up again like a bullet being released from its chamber and leaving black powder and smoke in its wake “Or you’re real!!” She said this with great finality and indignation as if she’d just solved a high profile murder mystery.

Elise Linnet pointed a pale finger at him once more “Ah…But why don’t you…!” She paused, collected herself, and sat down without finishing her sentence.
She then adjusted, almost haughtily, her black leather jacket that looked like it was ripped off the set of the 1980s horror flick ‘Lost Boys.’ “Hey man…You know…You can’t go ‘round telling people you’re not human…”

Elise Linnet pursed her lips and slightly arched one eyebrow, then slumped over in her seat with a “…’Uff!”
She moved her hands up to her face and began rubbing it profusely in between tousling her short and boyish quiff haircut.
Elise looked almost faraway after a point as if she were trying to tune the overly cheerful ex-demon out, perhaps she thought him in her mind again.

Elise Linnet Began to rap on the table with the top of both her knuckles, this went on for a good amount of time and they were beginning to get quite red.

She shook her head, odd eyes darting about erratically; she was probably, at this point not having taken her anti-psychotic medication, seeing things and people that actually were illusion around the room.

“You ah…I think…I wish…It would be easier to explain my problem if you could crawl into my brain and see just how dodgy it is in there.” Her voice was quite unsteady now.

Elise Linnet began rolling her shoulders back and forth after her knuckles began to pain her immensely, all these things were mechanisms to help her cope with the shadowy people creeping up on her and whispering in her mind, that only she could see.

She stopped her nervous habits of fidgeting to answer his question “Not today not yesterday…Why does it show?” Despite all her peculiarities she really was a teenage girl and on occasion it was somehow comforting to care a little for her appearance however off-beat she looked.

Elise Linnet drew away from him, ripping her cold hands from his and almost snarled when she spoke “Gah! You sound like a priest!”

Elise wasn’t being an intolerant atheist by dredging up his earlier talk of a heavenly father, she’d simply had an experience while committed to one of the many youth mental facilities she had lived in, a holy man of some sort had visited, telling her that if she prayed her delusions and horrors would go away, they never did, she of course relayed this information on another of the church’s visits to the rehabilitation center, and he had cast her off as demon possessed, and an ill-fated attempted exorcism followed, it gave Elise another event in her long list of traumas and did nothing for her mental disturbances.

Elise Linnet arched an eyebrow “What can you do for me…?”
With this her gaze became almost catatonic and she slipped the shiny plastic headphones that were always around her pale neck, onto her ears and switched on the mp3 player in her pocket. The song she turned on was quite loud and it could be faintly heard it sounded a bit like ‘Moonage Daydream’ by David Bowie, if one were to listen closely.

After doing this she put her head down on the table and it made a great ‘thunk!’ as she did so.

Elise Linnet ‘s mp3 played on with the lyrics almost audible now “I’m an alligator…I’m a space invader…”

Although Elise’s head was still face down on the probably germy table, She was tapping a finger in rhythm with and now singing along quietly with “Keep your ‘lectric eye on me babe’ put your space face close to mi---iiinnnne…” Her voice although almost silent was actually pretty good, being a sort of jazzy alto or mezzo soprano.

Elise Linnet clunked down the stairs from the cheapest room in Gambit’s hotel, hoping she could find something to eat at the bar. Around her neck were shiny plastic headphones leading to an old and scratched up mp3 player in the girl’s pocket, that blared a song called Beat on the Brat, By the Ramones. Her short black hair was styled in a messy quiff and she smelled of violet perfume with an undertone of cigarette smoke, but this was from the room she was staying in as Elise did not smoke. The odd looking girl wore a retro style black leather jacket with a Ramones t-shirt underneath and straight legged jeans that suited her spindly legs quite nicely, at the bottom her bright red Converse sneakers stood out in stark contrast to the black background of her pants.

She hopped upon a barstool and ordered a glass of Mint colored Absinthe from one of the touchscreen menus, she was only 17 and not old enough to drink but she had her fake I.D on her. Elise glanced about at the bars patrons on occasion but for the most part the girl simply stared into space.

Elise Linnet ‘s mp3 player changed to a the song Pretty Vacant by Sex Pistols as she glanced up at the woman who had addressed her. “Oh, Thanks. You like them…? This place is kind of a madhouse, nice to see someone with similar tastes.” Her alto voice was musical and yet it had this weary undertone to it, one that a girl of only seventeen shouldn’t possess.

Elise noticed Legion when she turned away for a moment, she gave a sort of half wave and a smile of the same type.

Elise Linnet gave a little smirk “They’re pretty good but I’m more of a David Bowie girl.” Elise had, besides punk music a pretty big range of genres she enjoyed but Bowie stood alone in her opinion. Elise let out a laugh at the next words spoken by the stranger “I have trouble everywhere…Doesn’t matter much if I’m in Chicago, Boston, or Wing City.”
She paused a moment and then spoke again almost tentatively “You play any instruments?”

Elise Linnet leaned back on the counter from her barstool, adjusting her black leather jacket that looked straight out of the 1980s horror flick Lost Boys. Elise grinned slyly after Phinx introduced herself “But I like Queen Mary, let’s go with that…” She stuck a pale hand out, the girls wrists were much thinner than they should have been, and one might noticed the girl was pretty thin all around, she obviously didn’t get much to eat.

“I play the Electric Violin, And I used to sing in a band.” She heard the strange news broadcast “…So? This shit usually come blasting out at ya’?”

Elise Linnet raised an eyebrow in mild surprise and uttered another expletive before speaking “Damn Queen Mary, You run a company?...You don’t really look the type.” She wasn’t trying to be offensive; Elise just said what was in her head.

“Hm, I don’t know I always thought I’d be in Ravenclaw when I read those books….The band I used to front were called The Regurgitations… Sort of a punk slash swing revival thing…” Elise was silent when Phinx asked her name, wondering if she should give a false one, she was sort of on the lam.

Elise Linnet perked up a little at the name “That’s cool…Did you just call yourself a Ganster?” This made the teen laugh in a small almost muffled way.

She was silent for a moment and then shrugged when the topic of her name came up, what’s the worst the woman could do, it’s not like the mental health facility she had run off from was anywhere near Wing City but just to be safe she didn’t give a last name “I’m Elise, and it’s nothin’ like that. Your question just flew over my head, I can be pretty spacey sometimes...”
She heard a booming sound and looked more annoyed than frightened "Ah man, hold on." And she produced a white pill from her pocket and popped it in her mouth, swallowing it with her absinthe, it would look like an anti-psychotic drug, one that was often perscribed to schizophrenic's.

Elise Linnet followed Phinx’s hand when she reached in to her jacket to check for the gun, she’d seen that sort of thing in Film Noir’s before “Guess you really are a gangster though Queen Mary….Bloody Mary, I guess I could call you huh?” Elise had only guessed she was reaching for a gun, but she wouldn’t miss the opportunity to give the woman a new nickname.

Elise chewed her lip a moment, it was a nervous habit, and then spoke once more “Nah, Queen Mary is pretty unusual.” She wore a sly grin after speaking.

Elise Linnet ‘s eyebrows shot up for a moment in alarm but then settled in their regular position once more “You were in The Crips…? Sheesh Queen Mary, That’s a little disconcerting…” Elise trailed off in what seemed to be mid-sentence and laughed a little timidly, sure she’d been with rough crowds but the Crips, they were a gang…Pretty serious one at that.

The punky girl fingered the collar of her dark leather jacket for a few moments, wondering if the woman before her was at all dangerous.

Elise Linnet smirked, looking a bit reassured “You certainly have an ego, how does it let you talk to a little kid like me?” The seventeen year old knew she was pretty young, especially to be sitting in a bar, and she was sure it showed.

“Well…are you still in a gang?”

Elise Linnet rolled her shoulders back and leaned on the counter looking relaxed for once “Whats that like…Being a gangster?” The teen didn’t ask about the hobo thing, she had briefly known what it was like to be homeless.

“Yeah, Yeah, All hail Queen Mary the great…” She paused and glanced at Legion and then pointed at him with a reedy finger “Hey…Is that guy…The one drinking scotch…Can you see him?”

Elise Linnet laughed quite audibly and spoke in a very nonchalant way for such a serious subject “Au contraire, That pill makes my head less wonky, not so many weird visions…” She knocked lightly on her head with her left knuckle “I’m a little funny up here.”

“He’s a nice guy, really, that one; I thought he was a hallucination once. That’s why he didn’t say hello when he saw me…I think.”

Elise Linnet chuckled lightly “Yeah…Most wouldn’t.” She brightened considerably when Phinx offered her the food, but quickly returned to her neutral expression not wanting to show that she was totally broke and couldn’t afford to buy her own meal, at least if she wanted to have money enough for a night or so more in Gambit’s hotel, “Thanks.” Was her only reply.
Elise then waved somewhat languidly “Alright, don’t get shot. Seeya around.”

Elise Linnet took a sip of the clear liquid that probably should have been ordered in shot form, she cringed a bit not particularly liking the taste, although it was just about the only thing that helped her calm down when she was having hallucinations left and right.

The teen noticed a rough looking man had spoken, possibly to her, and raised one eyebrow "Eh…me?"

"Uh…Nope wasn't intending to, not exactly my ideal plan for a Tuesday night."
Elise chuckled tentatively, hoping he wasn't as crazy as she was.

"Oh yeah, I'm new in Wing City an i've already seen some pretty freaky stuff…People come in here all the time claiming they're non human or at least human with some weird super power, shits like living in a comic book."

Elise Linnet shrugged "I guess so, but i've found it's either a White Night Holier than thou type or…Some guy claiming to be Satan's first cousin." Elise wasn't exactly a believer but thought the analogy was pretty good.

The punky girl avoided what he'd said about cops, not having encountered any and hoping she didn't. "Do you know anywhere around here thats hiring? being a street musician isn't exactly as lucrative as I thought and no one wants to hire a kid."

"A record company, what sort of talent are they looking for? I don't have a band or anything…That's actually part of the reason i'm trying to cease my career as a street musician, as a lone human theres always Vampires and Cannibals trying to lure me to their luxury apartments on the nice part of town, it's like they think humans are witless…" She looked slightly hopeful when he mentioned the record company, but seemed to know not to get too excited.

Elise cocked an eyebrow at his last comment, people were so strange in Wing City…It was perfect for her.
