Elise Linnet

An odd looking misfit.

0 · 1,238 views · located in Tauvyr Tavern

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Coloratura

Description

Image

Elise is seventeen years old and human,
Pretty pale skin with somewhat rosy cheeks,
slight dark circles under her dark eyes caused by exhaustion.
Elise has full lips of a pinkish color.
Her eyes are an odd sort, mossy green,
but her left eye is permanently dilated
from an injury, leading to one eye that is a normal green color
and the other looking black and simply having a green ring around it.
Often wearing closely fitting straight legged black denim jeans and
New Wave, Punk rock, or Glam rock band T shirt.
She wears her black hair in a quiff style
(the only difference from the photo is that she has no red stripe in her hair)

Personality

Headphones rarely leave their place on her neck, she's constantly listening to music,
like any teenager would be, though she absolutely detests modern pop,
much preferring older rock.
Elise has a history of mental illness and has been commited many times
leading to her running away from home, She is a paranoid Schizophrenic,
who has often occuring hallucinations and hears voices in her mind,
but has not broken the law or hurt anyone as a result of her disease
and tends to but rather docile and seem eccentric at first glance
one would have to converse with her for a time before they noticed
something truly wrong. Her Schitzophrenia seems to have been caused by a hereditary gene for the mental affliction,
which was only activated upon her taking an extreme dose of LSD.

Equipment

Nothing much, just an mp3 player and wallet.

History

Elise is a teenage runaway, possibly from Liverpool, UK.
(Much more will be added soon)

Elise Linnet nodded slowly at Legions remark, remembering what he was, "Oh yeah, your some sorta' scary monster under that disguise, like a lamb in wolves clothing…Er…Somethin' like that." Elise knew the correct phrase but this was her heavily veiled way of suggesting that humans where, to her, more frightening than any demon could be.

Elise looked up at Michael, gave him the papers, and stuck a pale hand out for him to shake "Hey thanks again, it's nice to finally have a job…"

Elise Linnet cocked an eyebrow looking at Legion "Well, You're going to need to buy an instrument aren't you? Know any music shops in Wing City?"

She sipped her whiskey laced drink, wrinkling her nose a bit at the swill that Gambit's served hot in mugs and labeled Coffee.

Elise Linnet nodded slightly "Yeah once…I'm from a lot of places…" She mumbled the last part a bit incoherently.

"If your going just for a Violin you ought take me, I can help you pick out a nice one." Elise wasn't exactly an expert but she could tell a stringed instruments quality by playing it.

Elise Linnet had to chuckle at Legions ceremonious nature when he kissed her hand.

She waved to him casually before turning back to her drink "See you later, Legion."

Elise Linnet leaned against the door with some sort of languid force and allowed it to open just a crack as she stumbled in, looking like a complete burn-out. Around her neck were shiny plastic headphones leading to an old Walkman in the girléł pocket, that blared the song Holiday In Cambodia by the Dead Kennedys. Her short black hair was styled in a messy quiff and she smelled of violet perfume. In her scent was also an undertone of cigarette smoke or, perhaps something more sweet, almost like an ebony seed plucked from the middle of a scarlet poppy. The peculiar looking girl wore a retro style black leather jacket with a white and black Ramones t-shirt underneath and cuffed straight legged jeans that suited her spindly legs quite nicely, at the bottom her bright red Doc Martens Boots shone in the dim light, which stood out in stark contrast to the dark, almost black, denim background of her pants.
She hopped upon a barstool and ordered a petite glass of Mint colored Absinthe, she was only 17 and not old enough to drink but she had her very handy fake I.D on her. Elise glanced about at the bars patrons on occasion but for the most part the girl simply stared into space, almost as if transfixed, as she waited for her order to arrive.

"Oh no! I'm late!" an overly cheerful voice announced from nearby, before a robot wheeled out of a nearby room, the screen on its face displaying a cartoony smiling face. "Greetings! My name is Yes Man, and I will be your waiter this evening! Now... who needs some help with ordering some scrumptious liquid and food based objects!" the robot happily announced, balancing on it's single wheel.

Elise Chewed her lips anxiously, which were the color of ripe strawberries and quite full. She lifted her eyes to the robot that had just entered and placed her order again “Absinthe, short glass.” Her voice held a very noticeable accent which hailed from England, and it had that very broad cadence that is familiar to Liverpool.

Elise sat quietly once more, but this only lasted a moment, as she noticed the strange woman near her. She seemed to have stepped off the silver screen during the silent era. Elise figured she must still be tripping on LSD, despite having previously thought herself to have come down off her high. She wrung her pale hands and muttered to herself “Keep it together...Keep it together…” The strange girl began hitting her heels together, her punky boots making a muted thud each time she did so.

At the sound of the monochromatic fingernails beating a tempo to match the one she had unintentionally made, Elise’s mossy green eyes widened and she seems to stiffen up. “Eh? Need something?” She looked around, her eyes darting back and forth about the room, she mumbled under her breath that was quickening with every word she spoke “I haven’t got anything for you…”

Elise was now peeling a tiny bit of the skin from around her thumb nail using her ring finger, but she didn’t seem to notice. Her eyes probably once held the shining sparkle of youth and although she was still very young, only seventeen, they were dim and almost completely without light.

Elise touched the cool glass of Absinthe prepared without sugar to her lips, and it felt almost hot as it passed through them and down her throat. She was quite noticeably shaking and around her neck was a small silver spoon on a chain. There were acid blotters sticking out from the back pocket of her cuffed jeans, this girl was far very gone for the moment. Although she was very young and somehow still quite beautiful to look at, with ivory skin, plump red lips, and heterochromatic eyes, one being a forest green and the a deep black with only a green ring about it.

However, Elise’s er body was unhealthily skinny and she had the expression of someone who had forgotten what sleep or relaxation was like. “Chuffed” She said sardonically with an almost silent tone.

The song “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed began to play on the mixed tape located in the Walkman that fit snugly inside one of the spacious pockets within her black leather jacket. She tilted her head a bit looking at Kurt, she was confused, and unsure of what to say so she mentioned the most coherent words that popped into her mind “Music’s in the pawn shop…ain’t got no dope…” Her voice was solemn still with that heavy air of Liverpool.

She turned her big eyes to the floor again, and began to shake her head very slowly, in her mind the ground was thousands of miles away from the top of the barstool where she sat. “It’s a long way down…” She whispered to herself.

Elise Linnet For no reason at all it seemed, when the Absinthe was taken from her, the little dope fiend flung herself back in her seat, hanging over the edge, finger tips hovering over the floor. But in Elise's mind she was looking down over a very drastic drop. Short black hair hung down just a tiny bit in straight choppy strands, it actually looked clean, as did the rest of her form, which might have been surprising given her state of mind.

The sultry jazz flooded Elise鳠ears and her vacant eyes showed the faintest flicker of recognition upon hearing the strings of a bass being played, all she could do was mumble a phrase very similar to one she had just uttered not a moment ago 썵sic鳠over椵sty shelf in the pawn shop杠She was referencing an incident that had happened earlier in the day, seeing as she was a jobless runaway in a strange town she had pawned her priceless Violin off at some shady little shop for a price that was much, much less than what it was truly worth. She had owned studied, and performed with the thing since she could remember but these days when faced with the choice of the instrument which showed off her extraordinary talent and education or hard drugs intravenously injected, the decision was not a hard one to make. But now she was really out of luck, as performing major classical works and those of her own creation on the side of city streets had been her main source of income for quite a while since she left Liverpool.

Elise caught a glimpse of his strange transformation and let out a hollow laugh “You’re such a funny fever dream…” She then sat up and glanced around the tavern, but did not dare leave the barstool now perched high upon it a gargoyle or an owl. “You all are…”

The girl was beginning to sound a little bit more coherent but not by much, albeit she was louder and just a tad more eloquent. “That’s quite right; the sweet sounds are surely turning to mildew as we speak…”

Elise Linnet Spoke with quiet intensity 쎯, I shouldn鴠think so杠she sighed, coming down off the heroin 쉴鳠gone the way of the money杠 She looked exhausted now, and had a hungry look in her eye, already lusting after another fix, but she didn鴠have anything to melt in her silver spoon so she began feeling in her back pockets for the acid blotter, psychedelics weren鴠dope but they certainly colored her world with that peculiar sort of beauty Elise so admired.

쉠was offered a contract once, with some big record company in Manchester杠The apparent musician spoke of things that had happened only months prior as if they were a million years away, and her glassy eyes had this eerie thousand yard stare that seemed to peer into the corners of oblivion. She began to mindlessly rub the crook of her left arm.

“Ja, Ja der Tee, der Tee…” She said in a mock German accent, she had taken classes on German and French during her schooling in Liverpool but couldn’t speak either language too well, though she knew enough to get around. She was now alternating between rubbing her arms and neck and running her fingers through her short ebony locks.
“One more fuckin’ hit..” The pretty junkie mumbled this a few times to herself before reluctantly picking up the plain porcelain cup and having a sip of the murky tea. She swallowed hard, then lifted the glass to her soft pinkish red lips once more but her mind seemed to be slipping away again, just for the moment and warm liquid dripped from the cup at her lips and down her ivory chin.

“I’ve played the violin since I can remember…But I’m not bad on piano either, used to sing a bit but ...” she looked down at the track marks, and over to the glass of absinthe that had been removed from her possession and she sighed “Well you know …all the…Things that are painting my world with broad strokes of chaos…” She trailed off not wanting to list the extreme amounts and different variations of substances she’d be positive for if she was ever made to take any sort of drug test “And well the fags too…but I only smoke when I can’t get a hit.”

She glanced about once more “Isn’t that life you bloody hallucinations....” she was addressing the entire bar this time and almost spat her words out “The dope ‘supposed to make the uh…Visual and auditory hallucinations go away a bit and the acid just makes it more fun…I didn’t see people like you before the lovely, lovely, LSD…” Elise pursed her lips and slumped in her seat. “I wonder where I am.” She remember the question and thought a moment "Tonight my name is..." Elise was trying to decide on whether to give her real name or a fake one, she decided to use the stage surname that belonged to one of her favorite musicians "Bowie."

“Yeah, yeah, a woman made from flicker on a screen telling me to have a tangible effect on society…” she shook her head, trying to keep herself from believing the people surrounding her were real, it was no good to see things that weren’t there but much worse to truly believe that they were.

Elise put her head down on the bar like a pouting child “Don’t preach to me, I just need some skag in my veins and everything is right.” When the boy with a tail spoke she just turned her face a bit on the surface of the bar and arched an eyebrow at him, Elise seemed much more abrasive when coming down off her high than when she had stumbled into the bar.

Elise shrugged with indifference “What’s it matter? Why chose life in the first place?” She looked at the ceiling and then back to the apparition like woman “You’re born you go to school, somehow grow up, get a job, a home, a fucking family, Mortgage payments and then you die in a shit home your kids put you in cause they never loved you anyways…Why chose that…? What a sham…” She slapped the crook of her left arm for emphasis “I’d rather have something to chase! Scoring dope…Gotta worry about scoring junk.”

Elise started to get up and was unclipping her silver stud earrings; she was surely planning to sell them for more Heroin, she let out another low and hollow, almost breathless, laugh. The teenage rebel was not having any of their good advice.

“Some shit pawn shop ‘round here, maybe just ‘round the corner, can’t remember… was on a bit of an H bender when I sold it, must ‘ave slept on a bench near the dealer, which was near the shop…can’t remember last time I slept for the life of me though.”
Her broad English accent wasn’t always the easiest to understand as she spoke quite quickly and had her face pointing to the ground, refusing to make eye contact with anyone around her, but she wasn’t trailing off in mid-sentence as much as she had been previously.
Elise then noticed the strange boy had taken her silver earrings and with that realization she growled out “Ya’ fuckin’ tosser! Give those back!” while glaring at Kurt.

Winne didn't bother waiting for a response, taking a seat specifically across the table from Awinita. She eyeballed the sharp dressed gentleman for a brief moment, raised a brow at the cat, before sticking an audio recorder on the table.
