Thistle blinked and smiled at him, squeezing his hand. "I'm sure she'll like you." she told him and gave him a smile. "I do. And Steel approves." She said with a grin. "Obviously. So much so, that he's going to find some pretty girl in order to shield himself from Mother, I'm sure."

He returned the smile, though it wasn't long before it gave way to a genuine grin, "I do hope so." The statement of Steel going out and finding someone shifted Erich's gaze over to Alke's brother, who seemed to droop at the prospect of such a thing. It wasn't that he didn't want to, rather that he feared whatever it was that mother would do, should she find out. Responding as best he could figure, he spoke after swallowing another bite of his sandwich.

"If nothing else, I am dedicated."

"Well, if it's any comfort, she's still annoyed with me. So she' more likely to pick at me, than at you." she offered, and smiled to Erich. "She's also incredibly old fashioned. She may not... she might not approve of you, simply because you aren't like us." She shrugged. "I can't say."

Like that but not really? Perhaps they were minor nobles then. The outburst that soon came made Erich blink though, rather surprising that it came forth at such a question, but he didn't put it past Alke to be rather fiery at times... it seemed to suit her. Sighing, he chuckled at the affair, "Well, that's good to know! A meeting with the Archduchess would... well, it'd rather frighten me." He finished his statement in almost a whisper, as it really did chill him. Something wasn't right about that woman, but she was their leader, ordained by His will, and she deserved his respect. "I meant though, more along the lines of a minor noble. A planetary governor or some such." He paused for a moment before asking, already thinking ahead, "Should I wear my uniform to the ceremony? Would your mother approve?"

Smiling, Erich nodded, happy to hear that he might be able to pull something off and not look bad doing it. "Well, I'm glad to hear that, and..." Believe it or not, he had, though it was at work. He was sworn to secrecy what he saw at work, and never to digress any information. Loose lips sink ships. "... well." He took her hand for a moment and squeezed it, only slightly, whispering as he did, "You wont tell anyone, will you?"

That cause her to relax, and she gave him a please smile whispering back. "I am of that House." Hopefully, he understood without elaborately. She squeezed him hand, more nervous that not. It was a bit nerve wracking, to be honest. Hopefully, he wouldn't shoot at her, or something equally distressing. She wanted him, desperately, to take it smoothly. But she doubted that at all.

The reports he had read were rather basic, mostly covering that they were alien in nature, but aligned with the Hegemony. A rather odd concept, to be sure, but it was one that Erich didn't put past the government, it wouldn't have been the first time that they'd crossed their own dogma. However, he didn't buy into it so much after his accident, after they dropped him like a used towel, and he'd been the step-child of the postal service for well over two years. Taking his other hand, letting his cane lean against his leg, he placed it over her hand along with his other, and he smiled. He didn't really know what to say, just letting his smile speak for him. Alien or not, it didn't matter. What did was that she was the only one in the past three years who ever bothered to care without a direct investment in his well being.

Thistle smiled at this, relaxing completely, and leaned her head onto his shoulder affectionately, if not cautiously. she didn't see any couples on base, or many in public but...but she wanted to show me that she cared. And cared she did. He was kind to her, and accepted her in this odd alien world, even if he probably didn't know the whole story, even that little bit of acceptance did wonders for the young woman. Yes, she'd be just fine with Steel gone. It wasn't forever, after all.

He had simply chosen the deli as a sort of meeting place, being that the two knew the location, not as the final destination of... well, it was a date, wasn't it? He didn't want to bore her with the place, maybe take her somewhere else if they were wanting food, but, to be honest, he just wanted to spend the day with her. The scenery and the locale he only bothered to change to try and suit her, if that was what she wanted.

He shifted on his feet, he'd decided to forgo the uniform today for something a bit more casual, a simple button down shirt, its sleeves unrolled and tail untucked, accompanied by some slacks and his oxfords. He still had his cane with him, leaning on it as he waited by the door, hoping that they would think him to be loitering. Well, he was, but this was different, right?

She was practically floating at the idea of seeing him again, which she was sure was a bad thing. Of course, Steel had already freely given his blessing but...no, no. It still wasn't right, not really, was it? Oh who cared! Thistle beamed brightly, then toned it down quickly, realizing how much it made her stand out. And there he was. Sans uniform, which made her blush, slightly. Whild she tended to wear her uniform less than she ought, she knew he wore his often. That he wasn't now made her happy, in some odd way she didn't understand.

Thistle walked over happily and gave him a smile. "Heil Kampf, Erich." She said, clearly happy to see him.

He shifted off of his cane at her appearance, his mental shift being subconscious, and as she approached his face became home to a smile of his own. Offering her a rather gentle salute, he returned the greeting, "Sieg heil, Alke." Stepping forward, he put almost all of his weight onto his legs, still walking with the cane for only aesthetic value. Hopefully he wouldn't tip over, but that's why he still had it. "I hope you don't mind my dress, I didn't have work today, so..." He shrugged as he spoke, looking to her, then the ground and finally returning it to her face. His own bore a look of both happiness at her arrival and slight embarrassment at the lack of his uniform. "It's just a challenge to get it on, sometimes."

She took his hand, silently offerign support if he did lose his balance. "I think you look very handsome without it on." she said and gave him a sly smile. "Though I do love how your uniform frames some of your best physical attributes." She teased him, then glanced at the own lack of uniform. Ah well. She could be out of uniform if she wanted to. She glanced ot hte deli, then to him. He had been waiting outside... "What shall we do first?"

He squeezed her hand at this, his turn to blush coming with her words, and he smiled, "Thank you, Alke, that's most kind." He looked, as he bumped against her, about himself, to the deli and the street at large, thinking on her most recent question. To be honest, he hadn't given it much thought, rather leaving that up in the air for whenever she arrived. It seemed like a rather logical plan, being as how the shop was just a place they had gone to out of convenience. "Well," He looked to her now, asking, "what would you like to do?"

She gave him a smile and thought the matter over as they strolled down the street. Hm. What do do, what to do. "Let's jsut go for a walk. I haven't seen half as much as I'd like to of this town." She said and gave him a smile. "And it's certainly something we can enjoy. If we see anything we want to do, we can do it." she suggested to him. The woman gave him a smile and then glanced around, before leaning in close and brushign her lips quickly and gently acroos his cheek.

He rather enjoyed walking, even if he was crippled, few things being nicer than a gentle stroll on a pleasant day, one of them being, in his opinion, the woman beside him. "That we can-" He didn't have all that much time to answer her question as she soon left a rather faint peck on his cheek, which began to flame with the rush of blood following the act. He really was a sucker for this sort of thing. "... do." He looked ahead for the moment, his smile have only waned slightly with her act, but more in a sense of disbelief and not displeasure. In reaction he drew her a hint closer, largely under the guise of bettering his stability, having folded his cane under his arm.

As he drew her closer and blushed and ducked her head. "I hope that wasn't too forward of me." She admitted. "I am...I have never been in a relationship before, and...cultural differences make it harder." she admitted. Had he been Erutin she would have touched her nose to his cheek breifly, and rubbed cheeks, or something similar. But he wasn't, so she had tried for a more human gesutre. "It was inappropriate was it?"

He smiled at this, almost giving way to a grin as he leaned in, speaking, "Not at all." He didn't take long to return the gesture, hoping to show that she wasn't out of place, and squeezed her palm, "It's been a long time since I have ever been... we're both learning." He then drew his head back slightly, still holding her rather close, and his mind began to wander, his mouth following not long there after, "What's it like where you're from?"

"Well," he announced, in a manner-of-fact tone, shooting her a grin as he spoke, "I'm flattered that my home is such a beautiful place to you. It has its mars, but largely I think they wish the best for us." He then added, quietly, "Their fate is tied to ours." Continuing to walk as he spoke, he was always looking about them for anything that might've been of interest, though, to put it simply, he was more concerned with their conversation. Leaning in as he did before, he added, again speaking softly but not as harshly as with his previous statement, "I don't think you need to worry about it today."

She gave him a demure glance from the corner of her eye. "I never worry about it when I'm with you." she told himThe young woman smiled and squeezed his hand, cuddling up close to him. Though of course it was only to help provide a bit of support for her...her person. She wasn't certain what to call him.

Erich returned the favor, interlocking his arm with hers as he held her hand, his smile still present. A slight, summer's breeze whipped through the street, the temperate locale here on the world was proving to have held a rather pleasant seasons thus far. Alke had worked wonders for him thus far, even outside of physically supporting him. He had more swing in his step, a brighter glint in his eye, and a new-found sense of eagerness, especially at work. Odd, he hadn't felt this way in quite a while. "It can't be that bad of a place... you came out of it, after all."

That caused her cheeks to flame and she leaned forward, touching her hceek against his. "In my culture, this is how we kiss, a touch of cheeks." She whispered to his ear, than pulled away, looking up at him. You already 'hug' my often by brushign shoulders. You make me feel at home in an alien world." she admitted shyly.

Thistle bit her bottom lip and shook her head quietly, leading him farther from the other parisioner's before she spoke quietly. "It is...nothing like our temple." She admitted. "I have seen him in person, when I was very little." She admitted quietly. "I can't. It's." She sighed, not certain how to not offend him. "There are twenty goddesses in my people's religion." she murmured quietly. "Twenty. ane ven number. Just one is unbalanced, not safe."

Following Alke as best he could she was beginning to confuse him. He knew that she wasn't Belkan, at least not in the same sense as he was, but... The Emperor? Did she not believe? He knew that there were some out there that didn't, but they were still loyal subjects. Largely he was worried that he might've offended her by taking her to the sermon, as well as some concern regarding her eternal soul. But... a guard? Things seemed to get more confusing by the day.

The young woman pulled him into an alley, hopign to have less watchers there. It was at least empty of any visible people. "Rose!" She called out, keeping her voice low. It was just a moment until her faithful servant and Traveler appeared, looking pleased. The two exchanged hugs, not payign attention to Erich's potential reaction. "Rose, I need you to take Erich and I somewhere we won't be overheard. Somewhere safe, and private." She said, then glanced to him, and made certain she had a watch on to keep track of time here. "I think...I think I need to texplain somethings to him."

Rose nodded at this. "Yes, your highness. I'll have a batch of serum made, just in case." Thistle paled at this, but nodded once, shallowly. That was not something she wanted to resort to in the least. Finally turning to him, she gave him a smile, spekaing wihtout really looking.

"Erich this is- Are you okay?"

The appearance was... odd, to say the least. Like a great many people in the Hegemony might think, perhaps there was some sorcery at work here, the church did preach against it almost every chance they got. But, he knew Alke. She was no temptress, no witch. Besides, she was a part of the Landwächter, of all things for a witch to be a part of! The idea was preposterous. The one thing that made him really twist his eyebrows was the title, your highness. He really didn't know what to think of this and just wore a look of blank misunderstanding as they continued to chat, and really couldn't think of anything to ask Alke when she turned to him but "... your highness?"
