Horse half is not pink, but is brown.
Personality
Esperanza is a wild, but adoreable child who finds it hard to trust people, having been badly treated by humans. But despite her fear, when she needs food, she will brave human kind to get what her tiny self needs. She has only been alone for a year, and can speak little english.
History
Esperanza was taken from her mother as a young foal babe, and sold to a farmer. She was abused, and not taught to speak for fear with intelligence would come rebellion. But being a brave little girl earned her her freedom, and on one night she escaped through the fence of her enclosure, running and running, as she always has been.
So begins...
Esperanza's Story
Esperanza perked up, she didn't reach out, she would only take food as it was offered to her. ¨Mhm!¨ Not that it was anything stereotypical, she just liked apples alot. ¨Pl... Pleeeease!¨
Esperanza immediately bit into one, but upon seeing him wiggle his ears she started to laugh, he moved them alot, just like she could move hers. She took a bite, and while she was chewing, she wiggled her pointed ears back at him. Her right front hoof pawed at the ground as she munched, she was more used to being on her feet then sitting or laying about...
Esperanza wanted to move, for she had been forced to sit still at that ladys place. If he looked closely in the better light he might even see a little bit of glitter and very light makeup applied to her face. She had been pampered completely, people often did dote on children.. ¨Always.¨ she replied, before looking up at him. ¨Want... run. Can?¨ she asked, not wanting to just run off around the bar, and leave him without asking.
Esperanza pouted slightly, she wanted to get some expercise, she felt... lazy! She fiddled with the red crystal heart necklace a little, before she felt something land on her back, and dropped it... ¨Huh...? Bun Bun!¨ she cried, reaching back for the rabbit with a smile on her face. The child looked healthy, and almost like she could belong in a higher class family for the value of the items on her, how her face was done up, even her hair seemed to be lightly curled.
Esperanza looked up as Illisius entered, blinking as Bun Bun started to do something that sounded weird. Clicks, but what from...? It was perhaps better she didn't see what the rabbit had... ¨Daddy!¨ she chimed, waving at him. She hoped he wasn't upset she had been gone, she hadn't been able to control it, really. ¨Lady... take.¨¨she said, to asnwer his question.
Esperanza looked on as her daddy talked to the pretty lady, and she slowly moved behind him, still not sure of Tiffany just yet, but gave a timid wave. She would answer his question as best she could later, he was talking, and interrupting would be rude. She cuddled Bun Bun as best she could with the bunny on her head, while looking around to locate Astreaus.
Esperanza shook her head, showing him the half eaten apple she had in her hand, before taking a big bite, one cheek puffed out as she slipped the piece to the side to munch on it. A small drop of juice dribbled off her chin, and landed on the blood red crystal heart pendant, fizzling as if it touched a hot coal before there was no trace of the drop..
Esperanza heard a sizzle as he touched it, and she stepped back hesitantly, moving her small hand down to touch it... nothing happened. ¨Lady...¨ she said. ¨Daddy... oki?¨ she asked, reaching up to his hand, to see where he had touched.
Esperanza, convinced he was alright and that the ladies necklace hadn't hurt him, reached up to give him a hug. ¨Oki... lady gave. Bad bad.¨ she said, looking at the necklace before continuing to cuddle Illisius. Of course, however, her attention could so easily be diverted, and upon hearing the music, she moved back to dance a little, trotting and turning while laughing.
Esperanza turned her head with a nod. ¨Oki Daddy~¨ She trusted her Daddy to always keep her safe, today had been a mistake, something that shouldn't normally happen, but she didn't think too far into it. ¨Hee hee, Nap!¨ she said, looking up at her friend as she moved about, dancing as only a centaur could, making a ruckus with her hooves.
Esperanza was, for once in the first four years of her life, enjoying herself, she felt safe and was being taken care of. The first few days here, in the bar, had been well too. Perhaps not a safe place for a child to live... but she was doing fine, besides, well... being kidnapped for five hours.
Esperanza was enjoying herself, too much to notice the newest arrival... a woman standing in a corner nearby, just... watching. She was a stunning woman, with long red hair cascading down her back, and over one cloaked shoulder. The cloak was floor length, hiding her figure fairly well, though with such a beautiful face, one could imagine the rest of her was just as appealing. ¨Esperanza...¨ she said quietly, smiling as she watched the little centaur dance and laugh, still wearing that beautiful little white dress, her hair in curls. She looked like a little princess... If she were completely human, she looked just like Lara. Her little Lara...
Esperanza didn't seem to hear him, as the necklace gave a small tug towards the corner, and she looked up... seeing nothing. ¨Huh...?¨ she reached down to touch it, and it pricked her finger. ¨Ouch!¨ she brought her finger to her lips, not noticing how this time, the necklace just seemed to absorb the blood...
Esperanza looked down at the necklace, it looked brighter somehow... she could see the drop of blood swirling in the center, like the inside was hollow when it was not. When she looked up then at Astraeus who grabbed the crook, she saw something red out of the corner of her eye.. Holding onto her daddy, she steeled her courage, and turned her head to look at it, seeing the lady. ¨Pretty... lady.¨ she said, reaching out a tiny hand towards the demonic presence in the corner. Those who could sense it, would surely feel it, the cold... and perhaps, the lonliness eminating from that place as well. ¨Lara...¨ said the woman with a smile, reaching out too, though kept the space between them.
Esperanza whimpered when he tried to remove it. ¨No!¨ The said, trying to bat his hands away almost frantically... There was no clasp upon it, there was only one way to get it off, and Astraeus knew it. The woman stepped forward, still not visible as she moved across the floor, distressed by the centaurs panic at the situation.
Esperanza hid her face against Illisius as the woman kept calling to her. She clasped her hands tightly around the crystal heart, and wouldn't be letting go anytime soon. Something told he they couldn't take it, they just couldn't... The demon woman would reached out to touch Esperanza's hair, and she turned to look at her quickly, why could only she see her...? Why. ¨Lara... honey... come with me.¨ she said, smile lighting up her beautiful face. ¨B-But.... Daddy.¨ she said, still hugging him and looking to his left.
Esperanza held on tight to her Daddy, she was never going to leave him! The pretty lady was nice, but she wasn't this... Lara. It was a good thing the little centaur looked away when she did, taking comfort in Illisius as indeed the woman was stricken, not expecting an attack as she had been invisible. And so concentrated was she on Esperanza, she didn't think that the child seeing her... could be a flaw. She fell down the floor, knocking into a chair on the way down and being temporarily knocked out, the invisibility wore away, revealing the beautiful woman laying on the floor.
Esperanza sniffled, the lady had been so sad... ¨Sleep sleep Daddy. Please?¨ she asked, she was trembling despite feeling sorry for the woman, she was scared too... The woman was unconscious, more then and easy target, but one might not be so ready to strike one helpless in the moment, and so very nice to look at as well.
Esperanza would hold on tight in Illisius' arms then, feeling safe, trying her best to count with him as she was still learning... The woman would begin to fade, until she was gone... For now, the little centaur was safe.
Esperanza was up and about after her sleep, the child not daunted by what had happened last night, but had certainly exchanged the white dress for a more cozy and less annoying light blue shirt and jacket, just reaching the bottom of the stairs. Her tiny tummy rumbled for food, and she noticed that she was getting a little bit bigger, healthier. With health, she became happier and a bit braver too, coming down into what was possibly one of the most dangerous places on Terra... with a smile on her face.
