Other Information:
Evan is the granddaughter of the founder of Harper Industries, a leading competitor in many different areas of scientific development. Harper Industries owns several different subsidiaries which include weaponry, biochemical applications, pharmaceuticals, etc. After her grandfather's tragic death, her father took over as CEO of the company and Evan was sent to prestigious universities with dual majors of Chemistry and Biology. Once she graduated, she went to work for her father's company and quickly rose through the ranks as Lead Scientist in the Research and Development sector. She is also the public 'face' of the company since her father is a known recluse, much preferring to leave the board meetings and such to his daughter. Ms. Harper is charismatic and intelligent outwardly but few can claim to call her a friend.

Equipment:
Evan has an appearance which is pristine and pulled together yet deadly. Her preference for solid colors range from either bold primary tones to black with the latter being her favorite. After hours, when not representing her father's company, she either wears designer label duds or when speeding around town on her motorcycle she will wear custom designed motorcycle leathers. If she is seen at Harper Industries than she has a more professional appearance, wearing business casual clothing or suits and heels.

Harper Industries was a large enough company to require several buildings to house all of its assets. While the main headquarters was situated in the center of Wing City, its research and development sector was situated in a steel and glass building in the outskirts of the city on its eastern side. With no flashy signs to indicate its purpose, the building was usually unnoticed by everyone except those with an actual reason to be there. Keycards were required for almost every door, including the bathrooms and security was heavy. Though they could pass it off as a need to protect their investment and the investment of several key government agencies, the real reason for the task force was hidden deep within the subterranean levels of the building.

Three floors in total were buried hundreds of feet below the 'basement' in the building's public floor plans. Three floors which were labeled simply as floors A, B, and C. Barely anyone knew of their existence, much less how to actually get into the elevator leading down but even if someone were to discover its location and existence, they would be hard pressed to find the keypad combination and fingerprints necessary to gain access.

Ms. Evan Grace Harper would not be attending to the experiments on the lower levels today, though. No, today she had much bigger fish to fry and as she strutted through the double-paned glass door, she gave a careless wave to the secretary that was manning the front desk and proceeded back to her office. It was in the large and elegantly designed room that she plucked a manila folder from her filing cabinet and wandered to the plush leather chair positioned behind the mahogany desk to take a seat. Flipping open the file, she began to peruse all of the information that her intelligence department had unearthed on a potential employee, Xavier Ramirez, and she hoped that the offer her associates had extended to the man would be answered. Two well-dressed men from Harper Industries found the elusive Ramirez and instructed him that if he was seeking employment then Evan would be available today between the hours of 8-10pm. It was a little past 8pm now, so he still had a decent amount of time to show, if interested.

The secretary’s eyes widened for just a moment before reverting to their usual friendly gaze and she leaned forward, pushing a button on her multi-line telephone to alert Evan that her guest had arrived.

“Ms. Harper? Mr. Ramirez has arrived.” The company was fond of last names for the reason that first names always seemed to be common. This building alone had five Stevens, three Bobs and two Richards and they were a small facility to begin with. Not that ‘Xavier’ would be commonplace but surnames seemed to stick anyway.

“Bring him in,” a clear, crisp voice with a hint of an accent sounded through the speaker and the secretary stood up, brushing off her skirt as her hand gestured down the hallway briefly before she took the lead.

“I’ve heard so much about you, Mr. Ramirez. I do hope that you’ll accept Ms. Harper’s offer
” The secretary was obviously fishing for more information since gossip was scarce in the building and she smiled brightly at him as they came to a stop outside of Evan’s door.

“Right inside, Ms. Harper should be waiting for you.”

Evan looked up from the file folder as a green light above the door indicated that someone had set off the motion detector and the warning gave her just enough time to stow the folder in the top drawer of her desk before the elusive Xavier Ramirez strolled into her office. She had learned to check her assumptions of people at the door because no matter how much intel you gathered on someone, it never really painted the full picture and this man exhibited that perfectly.

Not only had he actually showed up but he wasn’t quite as cordial as she would assume. He was a businessman, was he not? Maybe he was simply sore that she had found out so much about him in such a short span of time but then again, she needed someone with his skills and stealth so she was determined to be honest with him.

For now.

“Pleasure to meet you as well, Mr. Ramirez. If you would like to have a seat
.?” She gestured to the chair that he was gripping so tightly in his hands and settled back in her own seat while crossing her legs. “Harper Industries has a vast collection of knowledge gained from a quite vast network. Our offices range over the entire length and breadth of this city and even if you don’t think a building is owned by Harper Industries, it probably is. We have security companies in several sectors as well as being the premiere company to provide arms and armor for a variety of folk. Including yourself.”

Opening the top drawer of her desk once more, Evan removed a single black and white photo featuring a very clear shot of Xavier purchasing several weapons from one of her less legal operatives.

Evan Grace Harper grinned at the man before her seemed to relax a little but she knew that he was not fully trusting. That was okay though, neither was she, and she planned to keep him out of the loop with the exception of his intended targets. “I do. Someone with your level of stealth and skill is necessary for the people I need to obtain for testing.”

Withdrawing another file from within her desk, she lightly tossed it so that it landed on the edge of her desk in front of him so that he could peruse it if he wished. “How does a vampire regenerate their health?” She asked the question and though it was rhetorical, she paused in case he wished to answer or respond in anyway.

“There is a race here called the fae that are poisonous. Their skin contains toxins unlike any we’ve ever seen before. How do they create it? How are they unaffected by it when they are so humanlike?” Leaning back in her chair once more, she laid a finger along her jawline while her dark eyes remained on Xavier. “Harper Industries wishes to answer these questions and we believe you are the only person suitable that would be able to capture these beings without maiming them.”

Ahhh so at least he’s interested and he didn’t flat out refuse the offer
. Evan thought and she grinned at Xavier in response. “Of course. You will also be allowed personal access to some of our prototype weapons to assist you in your cause. The figure will range with the difficulty of the target. A slender poison spitting fairy will yield less than a vampire that is a millennia old but the base fee per capture is at the bottom of the last page in the folder
.”

It was a hand written figure, that was it. Six digits which was probably more than the gentleman seated before her had ever asked for a target but as he said
She was asking more from him than his previous employers.

“Of course, if you agree I will have to have you sign a non-disclosure agreement and several other forms but other than that
..” She paused, dark eyes seeking his as she awaited any sign of his thoughts.

“Do you accept our offer or do you need time to think it over?”

Evan stood up as well, smoothing a hand over the skirt of her black business suit before extending it towards Ramirez. That’s what normal people would do at the end of an interview/job offer and even though there was nothing normal about this situation, the gesture was delivered all the same. “Keep in touch, Mr. Ramirez. We’d be lucky to have you on board.”

Depending on Xavier’s contacts, he wouldn’t pull up much that would indicate Evan in any sort of tainted light. Every file on the web was either carefully constructed by her father’s people so that she was literally the public face of Harper Industries. A quick search of her name would bring up videos of some of the speeches she had given at science symposiums or board meetings or shareholder gatherings. Articles would either be from gossip rags about her love life or research journals documenting her latest innovation. Public records would prove rather boring in that she had graduated high school and then attended University before slipping right into the family business.

It was a rare event that lured the public face and lead scientist of Harper Enterprises but the grand opening of the teahouse seemed to fit whatever criteria that Evan conjured. Coming straight from the office, her outfit was a simple yet expensive pin-striped business suit and as she waited for the people ahead of her to enter the establishment, she leaned slightly to pick a bit of imaginary dust from her skirt.

The gentleman in front of her hesitated, however, and she finally straightened and skirted around him with a soft, “Excuse me” before slipping passed him. The exterior was warm and inviting, causing her lips to tilt upwards as she surveyed the dĂ©cor. “Good evening,” she said to the young woman that was greeting everyone before threading her way through the crowd to find a free seat.

After finding a seat at a four-person table, Evan quickly got to work. On her wrist was a slender metallic square with a touchscreen interface and after a few taps, a small holographic display appeared in the air in front of her. Words flew by in an attempt to prevent anyone from reading over her shoulder, though if they did they would probably be surprised to see that she had already identified half of the patrons. She despised forgetting a name or face and the app helped her in social situations such as these.

A waiter approached and she shut down the program, allowing the hologram to disappear from view. The menu was slipped into her hands and she was given a brief overview of dishes to try and refreshments to sample but she gave her trust to the server and simply handed the menu back. “I give you free rein. I am here for a meal and have no allergies.” With a splendid grin, she tacked on, “Surprise me.” Then sat back to survey the crowd.

The quick flicker of Judas’ eyes in her direction caught Evan’s attention and a smirk flowed easily across her lips as she decided to be devious. A rapid succession of taps on the device strapped to her wrist took photos of the 40+-year old woman flirting overtly with the escort and the pictures were sent directly to her husband. The money that the woman was paying Judas with came from her better half, the CEO of a company linked to her own that provided the textiles needed for her armor division and he would be most pleased to know that his hard earned cash was going towards his wife’s dalliances.

Within minutes, the woman hanging all over Judas perked as her cell phone rang and she withdrew it, frowning as she saw the number trying to reach her. Though the woman obviously didn’t wish to speak with her husband during her ‘date’, she picked up anyway and after a short but heated discussion she sprang from her seat with tears in her eyes.

“I
 I apologize but I
 Harold found out
.” The words tumbled from her lips and she dug into her large purse, withdrawing an envelope stuffed with cash that she pressed into Judas’ hands before a quick sob left her lips. The woman fled the teahouse as a clap of thunder rattled the room, making for quite the dramatic exit.

As the scene raged on at the escort’s table, Evan couldn’t hide her smile and as Naoki approached with her tea, she motion to Judas who was now seated alone at his own table. “Would you please invite that gentleman to my table?” She laughed, taking a sip of the hot tea that was poured, then flashed a pleasant smile at the waitress. “And I will take the house special, please. It sounds delightful.”

Evan didn’t even have the decency to look offended that Judas assumed she had orchestrated his date’s sudden exit.

“Most likely
.” She leaned conspiratorially towards him and dropped her voice to a low whisper, “Because I did.” When she straightened back up, laughter filled the gap in conversation and she continued on easily, in her normal tone of voice. “You can’t be angry with me, though. It looks like you still got your requisite pay for the evening and now you get to have an honest conversation without overwhelming expectations of how you should act or what you should do, for the evening.”

She paused, taking another sip of tea as another Cheshire cat grin swept her mouth. “So, you’re welcome.”

Bad boys, bad deeds, bad everything. Though her public image was impeccable, Evan had to be thankful for the time and effort that her PR team put into scrubbing her image, that and the image of the company itself. If people knew half of the things that Harper Enterprises took part in, they might have a different opinion of the business.

“Enjoy yourself?” She laughed again, withdrawing her wallet from her purse and extracting several large bills which she laid down beside her tea pot to cover her meal, Judas’ uneaten meal along with an extravagant tip.

“Well, if you’d like to truly enjoy yourself then walk with me?” She slid the wallet back into her purse and shot a grin at Judas as she stood up from her chair. “Name’s Evan, by the way, Judas
” Though they had never met, he was one of the faces that showed in her database search from earlier and she hoped that either the open ended and mysterious invitation would cause him to follow her or his curiosity over how she knew his name though they had never met would string him along.

Either way, she threaded her way back through the now-busy teahouse and pushed her way out of the door and into the night.

Linus Trucidabunt gave the hostess a gentle bow. After checking his weapons at the door, he was escorted to a low table in the corner. Linus folded himself down onto the mat. He decided to peruse the menu, as it had been a while since he'd been in Wing City.
