The trench-coat wearing individuals were standing still now, waiting for the two to talk. They didn't seem to want to interrupt. In fact, they almost seemed interested in listening. The claws gripping the edge of the ceiling now had a head looking over the edge to watch the scene, wolf snout turning to a set of insectile eyes on the skull.

The creatures too leant in eagerly, the one over the top just about leaning down at them to see what was about to be said.

At once the creatures moved, each jerking around in a circle and throwing their trench coats, one for both Asterid and Ezikren. At once they both pounced, throwing their clawed hands for the two, aiming to pin. The one at the top gave loud excited barks as the fight broke out, wings also rising up with buzzing wings. Each of them was bright yellow and black striped with claws, teeth, bug eyes, except their left hand was instead a stinger, which also ran down to a second stinger at their rear.

A third beast descended from the roof, pouncing Ezikren overhead as the one blocked by Ezikren scattered to the side, landing on all three limbs before jerking forth to bite at his leg. The final one had initially gone for him and caught on his blocking arm, grasping around it and trying to take him to the ground. Despite the ferocity of the creatures they didn't seem to be trying to kill the man, just incapacitate. Their stings stayed safely away from him.

The three eviscars all snatched for a limb each, which ironically left them only able to reach three limbs. Two went for arms and one tried to lift up a leg. The creatures however were light and not particularly durable. They seemed best for this sort of work, surprise attacks. In and out in a minute shock trooper movements. If Asterid didn't help soon they would likely pick the wolfman up!

The eviscars would scoop up the wolfman and take to the skies, likely to take him back to their nest.

The eviscars would carry Ezikren over the trees and into the forest, where growth had become chaotic. Many of the trees seemed much higher than they should have been. But in the distance was one large mound of mud, rock and other things the beasts had pulled together to form a nest. Many eviscars crawled all over it, adding to its size or hurrying about to do whatever it was they were asked. There was so many of them! How many had Ezrael made?

Slowly they descended into the clearing, where gargoyles muttered amongst themselves, one looking in the direction of Ezikren for a brief moment before going back to his work. All around the clearing there were wooden stakes, as if they had anticipated an attack, and dangerous looking plants lay beyond in a neat circle.

Inside the nest was just as bad, eviscars crawling all over the place. The nest descended into the ground at a slight angle, revealing more of this horrendous nest, and a large shape up ahead.

Up ahead, or rather down, was a large bulbous figure set against the wall. Their lower body, presumably what was their abdomen, was swollen to a massive size that seemed odd on the otherwise normal werewolf torso. Like all the other eviscars they sported wings and stingers, but the wings were much too small to be used.

Also the queen was about twelve foot tall. The great eviscar sniffed the air, eyes watching on unblinking, and it slowly moved forward. The other eviscars would lower Ezikren to the ground in front of their yellow and black queen, waiting for her next mental orders.

There was a pause in the communication, the mind of the queen having apparently caught that. the queen added, then they turned their hulking body away from him, reaching for something that had remained hidden behind them while they sat. Thrown before Ezikren was a bible, which the queen opened up, flicking through a few pages before stopping and pointing to one particular name. Adam. they said. Apparently they lacked much in the way of words, but they were doing their best.

The queens head slowly raised and hell in a nod. she said, pointing at him, before taking a claw to the ground to draw a stickman with horns and wings. . It was Ezrael, which was probably the most disturbing thing. She saw Ezrael as the creator and Ezikren as Adam.

Wait, did she think of herself as Eve?

The queen carefully turned the pages to the part about Eve being made from Adam's rib, then sat there staring. The queen however broke from their staring, grasping the book and dragging it to behind them to hide it. Behind Ezikren one of the gargoyles approached, looking worse for ware. One of his wings was damaged beyond usage and he wore many scratches and scrapes over his body.

The gargoyle regarded the queen for a moment before looking towards Ezikren and offering out a hand. "I am Tor, leader of the gargoyles and only sane person around here. Forgive our queen, you're not the first wolf she has had kidnapped matching your description."

"We released them," Tor explained simply. "She seems to be hunting after the wolf that is the source of her genes. I haven't told Lord Ezrael yet. I don't want him worrying or getting involved, nor do I want the person he took the genes from to get involved in this mess. It's not their fight."

Tor shrugged, then offered his hand out once more. "Can you walk on that leg? C'mon, we'll get you bandaged. We don't know what the queen wants exactly. But we don't want her getting what she wants."

"She's not my queen," answered Tor, "I only serve the Lord's Ezrael, Arcanon and Rahal." He was there to provide support if Ezikren needed it. He would lead the wolfman back outside. "We will try to guide you safely through the forest, but it has been unkind to us."

How the gargoyles managed to find Lumierre was a mystery she would soon learn the answer to. But they had found her, and they were slowly closing in. A menacing bunch they seemed, if it wasn't for the plain smiles and gratitude on their features. Their leader, the badly battered and damaged Tor, came forth. "Lumierre," he said, "We are leaving soon."

Tor's hug was brief. "There is not much time," he said, with a hint of sadness in his voice, "But we came here to say goodbye to you and one other friend. The Shade you knew. We were wondering if you wanted to say goodbye to him together."

Tor bowed his head. "Please. We all wish to say our thanks." There was murmuring amongst the group, but here and there a smile could be seen. Quite peculiar smiles at that. But they were easily lost in the crowd.

Kenji and Asterid lead the way, heading down a sloping path into the nest of the eviscar hive. It had been transported in full to the shape to the fortress. A dull buzzing could be heard from distant points in the hive. "Quick, this way," said Kenji, like he had some sense of direction.

Kenji fell silent for a moment. "Well... I was hoping we could just talk them down, but your plan sounds like the much more likely option."

The ground suddenly began to tremble, and suddenly the smash began to crumble between Kenji, Asterid and Ezikren, forcing the wolfman away from the other two. Kenji skidded to a halt. "Ezikren!"

The ground behind Ezikren also began to fall away. He was rapidly becoming trapped in ground that was disappearing, and he was likely going to fall. Fortunately for him the drop, despite being completely hidden in the dark, was only a dozen feet. It wouldn't be fatal, but it might hurt.

Ezikren would be left alone. A call from Kenji overhead could probably not be heard very well, followed by sounds of fighting. To the left and right the walls split slightly allowing light to get in. Something up ahead in the darkness shifted. Eviscars could also be heard skittering about, but they seemed to be determined to keep away from Ezikren.

The walls split open slightly more, as if controlled by some unseen force. Light flooded the chamber, though one end was still dark where two bulbous red eyes were made up of millions of hexagonal shapes. But the head quite distinctly ended in the mouth of a very big wolf.

The entire end wall seemed to shift as the eviscar Queen leant forward, bulky shape moving in the darkness. But as much as it shifted, it did not progress forward, as though it was stuck. More light was slowly entering the room.

As the light became about as bright as it would (as it was still night time outside) it became clear the queen had not moved in some time. They were pressed into the wall, stuck there, practically a part of it. They had grown monstrous in size, maybe twelve feet high in their sitting position. Clutched in their right claw was a shell of a being, a corpse it seemed, held by the skull, but with flesh loosely connected still.

Suddenly the eyes of the body flicked open and they spoke, as the queen raised them up. "So you have returned to me, Adam." The most likely conclusion was the queen psychicly controlling the man.

The queen rumbled unhappily, but the corpse continued to speak. "You are my Adam!" They were clearly angry. Suddenly a buzzing noise from the side as two eviscars took off into the air, up through the gap made in the ceiling.

"We will be the makers of the next eviscars. Genesis."
