Description

Faris Chevalier

Image

Species: Idorian: A race of humanoids that only differ look-wise by small tips to their ears and cat-like slits in their eyes. Physically they are always beautiful to look at and have increased agility and strength, and are bonded with a blade the moment they are born as they are a race of proud warriors, united under their great king.

Age: Appears to be in his early twenties, though the lifespan of idorians is longer than that of humans, so his true age cannot be guessed.

Height: 6'3

Weight: 130lbs (Unusually light compared to humans)

Hair: A thin sheet of black that hangs down to the back of his knees, a small portion is left to that length, it waving behind him as he moves, however the main body of hair is tied up in a ceremonial bun, typical of his fellow knights.

Eye Colour: Deep brown with the black slit in the center.

Birthday: September 1st

Skin Tone: Oddly pale with a very slight silvery glow.

Body Type: Tall and slender, typical of his race though perhaps unusual among humans. He has some muscle definition as he has undergone much training to hone his body to be the best defender he could be.

Outfit: Mostly it is the armor of his knighthood, though after his exile it has been slightly altered. A headband of a strange black metal named Oronite keeps his long hair out of his face, and is studded with several small rubies and emeralds. The same material forms his armor which was made to fit his body perfectly, each piece without fault.
It covers his whole body down to his feet, giving his the appearance of someone of evil origin, though it could not be further from the truth. Round his waist is tied a simple sash of light blue silken material, the one memento he has from his home; a gift from his mother.

Personality

General Likes: Fruit, conversation, company, sparring.

General Dislikes: Bandits or anyone who preys on innocents, sour things.

Greatest Desire(s): Either to go back to his country and regain his honor, though he knows that this is unlikely at best. Or to find a new place where he was give his loyalty to another, to work towards a good cause.

Greatest Fear(s): To remain a rogue knight with no purpose, and to somehow be made unable to wield his blade.

Main Positive Traits: His unwavering loyalty to his friends and allies, and sense of justice makes his a strong and trustworthy fellow. As this suggests he would do anything, laying down his life for a friend in need, and would even do the same for a stranger who was in danger. His sense of honour knows no limits, and he will always and forever defend those who cannot do so themselves to save bloodshed.

Main Personality Flaws: Perhaps his loyalty and unwavering faith makes him naive, as he sees the world in a black and white fashion; Good and evil with no in-between, and as such he can sometimes make rash choices on which side to defend. Despite always meaning well, he can sometimes get carried away with the pursuit of justice and can put those he cares for in danger as he moves to aid others.

Unusual Traits: None. Though to some such loyalty and devotion would be odd.

Relationships
Mother: Cecilia (Bad relationship)
Father: Gareth (Bad relationship)
Siblings: Horus (Brother, bad relationship)
Other Family Members: None.
Friends: Kale, Gareth, Lilli.
Desired Partner(s): Lillionna.
Lover: None

Equipment

Weapons: Hidden in his armor he has many weapons made from the same pitch black material. Oronite is unnaturally strong and impossible to bend, only able to be melted with the hottest dragon's fire. Small daggers and hidden in his boots and wrist guards, and he can throw them with deadly accuracy.
His most treasured possession however, is his dark blade; Althea meaning 'pure'. It was crafted from the finest oronite, and enchanted by the dragon that used its flame to create it. Aside from the normal properties of the material, it can become searingly hot in an instant, though the blade would not set alight. It is also razor sharp (due to the skill of the blacksmiths) and can cut through almost anything.

Magical abilities: He has some small degree of flight due to his race, however it would only be enough to extend his jumps.

Other Talents: He is ambidextrous and can use both hands in combat, enabling him to attack from either side. Also he is apt in gymnastics, which can also give him an edge in combat.

Anything Else: None.

History

Faris was born in the Idorian capital of Orley, and from birth was brought up by his father to become a fellow knight of the order Blightenguard as was usual of the men. He had a knack with the blade from a young age, and so swiftly established himself as a promising new recruit, earning him the eventual position of High Commander of the army, one of great importance.

Such prestige begets jealously however, and several of Faris' peers plotted his downfall as they did not wish for him to take such control. During a patrol of the kingdom's boarders, Faris was approached by a large group of bandits who overpowered him, young as he was, and when he awoke from unconsciousness, he was in a cellar of the castle, a lit torch in his hand, the area around him in flames.

He was discovered soon after in the position, and it was assumed that he had started the fire. Undergoing a trial, those who plotted against him had bribed those in charge, and so he was found guilty, stripped of his knighthood and exiled for life. Hoping that his family would protest, Faris visited them, however he was disappointed as they would not open the door to a 'traitor'.

With a heavy heart, he left his country as was decreed and sought a new place for himself in the wide word.

"I have sworn loyalty to my blade, and my faith shall never waver."

So begins...

Andras nodded slowly as he made his way toward a table, growing tired of standing. As he moved the oppressive air followed him, sending a sensation of displacement and some fear into those he passed. Upon reaching a chair he sat down in silence, his hands resting in his lap while the scythe somehow remaind standing on its point beside him, continuing to pulse and ripple. "We are timeless, Messor. We will never become non-existant." He nodded once again. "You have been absent for too long if you believe we are few in number... We simply keep our presence masked."

Faris Chevalier sighed heavily as he made his way down the stairs of the bar, clad in his usual black armor which made barely a sound as he took each step, his bright blue eyes casting over the room curiously. He was still so new to this land, knowing little of its people or customs and so he was always eager for company and good conversation. Placing a polite smile on his face he walked to the counter and leant lightly against the wooden surface not too far from Kale, tilting hishead to one side as he looked around aimlessly

Andras looked at his hand with a slightly raised eyebrow, noting the nothingness that was upon the flesh, simply nodding as Messor mumbled in a confused fashion. "I smell it. The link... And also your connections to this world." He lapsed into silence for a moment, shaking his head as he continued. "You have succumbed to pleasures of the flesh, become less than you once were... I am unsure if you would be pleasently welcomed if you desired to return." He tilted his head upward, eyes shimmering slightly.

Faris Chevalier lightly tapped his fingertips on the counter, a small sigh passing between his lips as it would seem he would again find himself lacking a companion. As a nearby voice spoke however, he turned quickly to face the other man, the smile widening on his face as he hoped to make a good first impression; you only got to make one afterall. "Oh, yes they are... They are rather nice, if you haven;t looked at any yet..." His tone was slightly awkward as he was unsure how best to speak to other people, but the smile and tone were both genuine.

Andras looked down at the small display of power, closing his eyes as he nodded. "There are many more of your... Type, my brother as they are mine. We are by no means unique which means your power is not either. You may destroy one, two... Maybe evern three, however..." His eyes opened, the red once again having overcome the black, making on his arm glowing as Manios let out a long and piercing hiss. "-I am a charge of the Balance. Such a betrayel would not be tolorated." That said he calmed himself and his weapon, returning to his passive state.

Faris Chevalier nodded simply, also feeling the awkwardness in the air, it was impossible to miss infact and even Faris lost some of his smile as he sensed his presence was not really wanted. Turning back to look at the table he sighed quietly and ran his fingertips over the wood in random patterns, glancing over only when the others name was uttered. "Kale? Oh I see... My name is Faris Chevalier... I pleasure to meet you, Sir." he placed a clenched fist over his heart, bowing his head in greeting, as was his people's custom.

Andras simply stared, seemingly unintimidated by the display of murderous intent and Manios tilted itself sideways, the curved edge of the blade resting across the man's shoulders and neck in what most people would see as a threatning motion, however Andras seemed unconcerned, lifting a hand to lightly tap the rust colored metal. "None will deny you the return... However once you do so you may find things different to your memories Old One." The title was something of a joke to the ageless being as he let out a small rasping chuckle, shaking his head. "As it is... I am a Watcher. I shall do nothing against you until you force my hand." He placed emphasis on 'until', using that rather than 'unless'.

Faris Chevalier yawned quietly as he made his way down the stairs from the many floors above, as usual the rogue knight was clad in his shimmering black armor, it fitting his slender build perfectly and making surprisingly little noise as he took each step. Upon reaching the ground floor e cast his bright blue eyes around the room, recognizing non but one man at the bar, and they had only spoken for a brief period. He paused and watched for a moment, seeing that he was rather popular and decided to simply walk to an empty table and sit quietly, placing a polite and welcoming smile on his face.

Faris Chevalier yawned once again and lifted a hand to lightly rub at his eyes before pausing at the tug on his sleeve and looking down with an expression of some confusion on his features as he saw no source of said tug. "... Stranger things happen here..." He said softly before shuffling away from whatever decided to tug at him, his gaze flicking up to Kale as he approached. "Oh, ah... Yes... Yes that was me." He cleared his throat and mentally slapped himself for letting his manners slip, quickly adding. "Faris, and please don't apologise, you are the first person to talk to me, Mr. Sislate." he smiled and lightly bowed his head. "Well... I'm a little tired but not in a bad mood."

Faris Chevalier continued looking at Kale as the tugging continued, a small frown appearing on his lips as his eyes flicked down to his sleeve, narrowing in an attempt to see what could not be seen. "This is odd and a little disconcerting..." He muttered, moving the other hand to wave beneath the one being bothered. Assuming nothing would be felt he again turned away, back to his companion. "Oh, I... I see..." He felt a little uncomfortable with the other man's casual nature, having been around rules and regulations all his life, such actions were strange to the knight. "Why do you come here? I don't know... For drinks? Company? Nothing else to do?" He tilted his head to one side, eyes flicking back to his sleeve before he added. "I think my own reason are a combination of all three... Though mostly for company." He nodded slowly.

Faris Chevalier nodded with a small yet bright smile upon his features, tilting his head to one side as Kale continued to speak, the small smile gradually widening. "Oh, of course you can call me friend, its rather-" He stopped speaking when his hand was tugged off the table and he quickly moved it to rest lightly against the hilt of his precious blade, the same color as his armor. "What is doing this? I do not like it." He frowned, not liking the idea of a foe he couldn't see before sighing heavily and shaking his head, removing the hand from the sword. "Sorry... Something tugging at my sleeve... My apologies Mr. Sislate." he bowed his head deeply.

Faris Chevalier looked at the long coat that was indeed shifting slightly due to an unseen force, being unable to resist a small chuckle before clearing his throat in an apologetic fashion. "Indeed... Rather odd, isn't it?" He then tilted his head to the other side, a hand moving absentmindedly to fiddle with the black headband holding his long hair back. "What.. Am I?" He repeated, a small frown tugging at his lips before he shook his head rather quickly, his black hair whipping round his shoulders. "I am... Nothing as of several months ago. A... A rogue I suppose." He lapsed into silence for a moment before clearing his throat again, it being rather clear that it was a sensitive subject before adding quickly. "What do... You do? If I am not being rude by asking..."

Faris Chevalier blinked slowly, his eyes with odd cat-like slits holding an expression of some sadness as the now passed subject left something of a bitter taste in his mouth. However he remembered what Kale had said about people and bad moods, so he did his best to hide it, placing a bright smile on his lips and chuckling quietly. "I see... Nothing, hmmm?" The slightly amused glitter in his eyes let it be known that the blush hadn't gone unnoticed, however Faris wouldn't mention it, instead simply nodding. "Well though I am curious I wont press you."

Faris Chevalier 's smile faded slowly from view as the topic was brought up once again, a heavy sigh passing between his lips as he tilted his head sideways, cheek held in his palm and due to the position a curtain of black hair moved to effectively hide his face. "Alright." He said quietly, lapsing into silence for several long moments before answering in the shortest and simplest manner he could think of. "It means I have been cast away from my former Lord, to wander aimlessly and try to find another purpose somewhere else." He nodded slowly, his free hand moving to tuck his hair behind his ear, looking across at Kale. "Your turn then." He forced a rather pathetic smile onto his lips.

Faris Chevalier nodded limply at the apology, mumbling how unnecessary it was before a delicate eyebrow lifted in confusion at the slight red tint to the others cheek, feeling rather curious now, Faris sat up slightly and listened in silence. Whatever reaction kale may have expected, it probably was not what the rogue knight would give. "Dance? Truly?" He nodded. "It takes a lot of physical strength to dance, and the movement is very useful when fighting... Though... That is probably not why most people dance." He chuckled quietly then, not because of the occupation, but because of his little comment.

Faris Chevalier blinked slowly, trying for several moments to hold in the laughter that bubbled up inside before it broke through his efforts, a fairly loud and somewhat melodious laugh slipping from his lips at the image of Kale lifting a 'larger' woman. "Oh dear..." He mumbled, the laughter dying down into small chuckles before he cleared his throat and calmed down enough to speak again. "Scrawny? I don't think so... Besides, like we both said, you must be strong to preform such feats." He chuckled again before lifting an eyebrow, not catching the final comment. "Hm? Me? I dance a little... It was customary where I come from, so..." He trailed off, the topic of his homeland being a little painful.

Faris Chevalier found that, while it was still a little uncomfortable and undesirable to discuss his former home, it seemed somehow easier discussing it with such a laid back person, someone who hopefully wouldn't really care about politics and the like. With that in mind he thought for several moments before replying. "It was the waltz... No square-dancing, no." He chuckled quietly, having no idea what said dancing was. At the peculiar offer he tilted his head to one side, a slightly confused look on his features. "Free? But surely... It is you job? I couldn't take lessons without paying." He shook his head slowly.

Faris Chevalier frowned slightly and lowered his head, biting his bottom lip in shame as he realized he was actually doing nothing to support himself other than doing the occasional escort for some rich noble. "I... I suppose not, no..." He mumbled quietly before his head snapped up quickly, a slight red tint coming to his cheeks. "I have the... Ah... Thank you." he couldn't repeat the statement, finding it both flattering and embarrassing, simply bowing his head in additional thanks. "A, anyway... Maybe lessons would be nice..." He stuttered quietly.

Faris Chevalier smiled slightly and nodded. "Right, I'll look forward to it then." He dipped his head into yet another small bow before looking over at the waiter then back to Kale and nodding once again. "Oh, alright then, thank you very much." His smile brightened further and his eyes flicked upward to the floors above. "You'd think so wouldn't you? But its surprisingly quiet... But then I'm on the 6th floor so..." He trailed off then, looking idly round at the crowded room. "Busy." He added to himself.

Faris Chevalier looked at the waiter and, feeling somewhat flustered stuttered slightly. "Oh, ah... A red wine please." He smiled at the man before looking back to Kale, thinking for a moment before replying. "I am.. Honestly not sure. All I am good at is... Ending life it seems. Recently I've done some escorting, protecting, that sort of thing but... I do need something stable again." He nodded with a small sigh.

Faris Chevalier stared across at Kale for several long moments, his eyes heavy with the memories of his final few days in his homeland. He swallowed thickly and shook his head slowly, biting down on his bottom lip as he mumbled a small reply. "I would rather not... Talk about it... I'm sorry its just... Difficult." His tone made it clear how hard it was to speak, and he shuffled in his seat before adding. "I suppose I am good at... 'Kicking ass' but I need to be... Needed I suppose... No not that... I don't know." He shook his head, a frown on his lips. "Sorry, I'm making no sense... Sorry." he hung his head, feeling very foolish.

Faris Chevalier 's hand twitched slightly in response to being covered, blue eyes moving to look at the odd gesture, unsure as to its purpose. He assumed it was a comforting measure as it did that, albeit only slightly and he looked up slowly to look at Kale's face, a small sad smile on his lips. "I... Alright, thank you for talking to me, I know you mentioned earlier about bad moods... Sorry for loosing myself in one... I mean-" He stopped himself as he realized he had apologized once again, clearing his throat with a slight blush on his cheeks. "Never mind." Lord, he was being clumsy with words this evening. Faris blamed his tiredness.

Faris Chevalier nodded slowly, a small smile finding its way onto his face at the playful expression. "I'll try... No promises though." He chuckled quietly before leaning forward and looking suddenly a great deal happier. "You would like to learn self-defense? How wonderful. It has been... Many years since I last taught someone, I would be delighted to teach you if you wanted." He nodded once again, a hand moving to cover his mouth as he laughed louder at the comment about children. "I've never been around children that much so I couldn't comment. Obviously when I was on but... That's different." He finished with a small chuckle.

Faris Chevalier was rather surprised at the long rant about just how terrible children were, and he hoped that he didn't trouble his parents as much as Kale claimed children did. Deciding not to comment other than to laugh quietly and offer a slight shake of the head, he chose to focus on the topic he knew more about. "Yes, I think you could. You must have physical strength and flexibility because of your dancing, and both of those are essential in learning self defense... I'm sure you could learn very easily." He smiled brightly, giving the other man a firm nod.

Faris Chevalier smiled in a partially amused, partially apologetic manner and nodded. "Oh, right... Sorry, I'll try to remember next time." He then looked down at his sword and rested a hand on the hilt affectionately, a small smile forming on his lips. "My blade is more than just a fancy one, it is special, a part of myself." He nodded before looking back to Kale with a small chuckle. "Ah, I think to begin with... No sword... Basics first." He smiled then, hoping he hadn't caused any offense before shaking his head. "And no, you don't have to pay, we're doing a trade, aren't we?"
