Personality

Gaius is usually pretty quiet, he tends to keep to himself most of the time and hates unnecessary confrontation, even though he comes from a war-like tribe. When one insults his diety, Ogrin, he goes absolutely nuts. He hates unbelievers, but if they don't bother him he won't bother them. Also, being of the Norse persuasion, he particularly enjoys singing songs of battle with his friends and drinking mead and eating meat until the sun rises. Of course the ensamble wouldn't be complete without a concubine or two.

Sexual Orientation - Bisexual

Religion - He and his tribe follows Ogrin. Ogrin is really just Odin, they just changed a couple of words to not seem like copy cats and so the others wouldn't kill them for only worshipping one god. Ogrin is a god of life, death, battle, and he is king of the universe.

Code of Conduct - 3 tenets of Ogrin

- Honor : Honor your tribe, your family, and your friends. Honor your fallen comrades by avenging their deaths.
- Courage : Do not fear anything but Ogrin himself. He shall remove all obstacles in your path.
- Respect : Respect your tribe, friends, and family, but most of all Respect your enemies.

Equipment

Gear

- Boots of Ogrin : With these boots, Gaius is faster than a cheetah, can fly like the hawk, and more agile than a monkey.
- Gauntlets of Ogrin : With these Gauntlets, Gaius is stronger than a bison, and tougher than the bark of the sacred tree.

Weapons

- Vudjin, Spear of Ogrin : Image The sacred spear that Ogrin supposedly carried when he killed the Frost Giants.
- Hunting bow, with arrows : nothing special, just a normal wooden bow with steel tipped arrows.
- Steel Battle Hammer : Small one handed hammer that he carries into battle, nothing special about it either.
- Steel dagger : dagger used for skinning animals.

History

"Let's see here.... It all started many years ago. My village Pagus Eurus had woken up like any other day, hunters like my brother and I went out to hunt to prepare for the long winter ahead, the wood cutters, and blacksmiths were aiding one and other in preparation aswell. Something didn't feel right about the day however. I told my brother, Tulvur, this but he simply told me that I was worrying about nothing. However when we had returned to the village, he was wrong.

There had been a raid. Everyone was dead. Children, men, women. All of them. Dead. All but my brother and I. However he soon killed himself. I don't blame him. But me, I cursed the names of those that did this. I called the name of Ogrin went to the altar in the center of the village and shouted his name to the heavens. I shouted until some one, or some thing answered me. The answer was not a voice, but an action. For as I shouted and cursed the name of my god Ogrin, the altar had opened, as if it were a crypt rather than an altar. Inside, were the boots, gauntlets, and spear that the founder of the village had used to drive out the demons all those years ago. I grabbed them and vowed that I would use these tools to seek vengance on those that had destroyed my village. I have had no such luck thus far..."

So begins...

"I don't care what it is. Don't do it here." He said and looked at her. "Are you blind, girl? I live here." he said pointing to the stone lodge and the forge infront of him and picked up his bottle of mead and took a swig from it. "Geesh... All these people from the new era, are pretty daft." he said under his breath and tore a piece of meat from the deer and ate it. "makes me wonder how these people made it through the last." Gaius sighed.

"Well good luck. You want a drink for the road?" Gaius inquired as he stood up once more only to walk over to a shelf full of mead bottles and toss her one. "You need any help with your task let me know. I can be pretty useful myself." he said and sat back down and sipped his mead.

Down on the streets there was a blonde haired fairskinned young man walking around holding what seemed to be somesort of map. "Let's see here... I've already passed the fortuneteller's... Look's like i've got only a few more blocks to go til I get to that tavern!" He said with confidence.... Little did Gaius know... that the map he had been sold, was simply leading him in circles. He was never going to get to a tavern. He had been scammed. Of course, this was the warrior's first time in the city, it's only natural that he get conned out of his money... right? ...... RIGHT!? Anyways, as the Nord passed the fortuneteller's for the umteenth time he began to grow slightly suspicious. "Hey Wait a minute! Didn't I just pass this place?!" He exclaimed and looked at the map again, turned it over, and saw a flier on the back for a bounty. "I've been had!" he finally came to the realization.

The Norse Warrior ran to where he had heard the distress. "What's wrong milady?" Gaius asked and looked to the poor dwarf woman.. He had never seen one upclose before... Only in pictures in story books. To see one in life and up close was rather strange to Gaius... Then again... As he came to the city he had seen a group of elves, and his father had told him that the elves went extinct along time ago. What else did his father lie to him about?! "IS there anything i can do to help madam?" He asked the 'dwarf woman' and began looking around to see if there was some sort of thief or assailant.

"Then I shall make haste in retrieving this family trinket for you madam." Gaius spoke with a kind hearted smile and plucked his steel hammer from it's holster and ran toward the guard at breakneck speed. He slowly rose his hammer and leapt into the air going for a downstrike upon the guard's head. "Darkness Take you!" He shouted as he brought the hammer down onto the man's head, what sounded like thunder resonating from the impact.

As Gaius snatched the ring from the finger of the guard he quickly ran back over to the Dwarven woman and handed it to her. "There you are madam. I pray that you feel much better now that you have gotten your clan ring back." Gaius said confidently. "Now... Could you please direct me to the Dragon's Tongue Inn? It seems I spent the Last of my coin on a faux parchment that some one claimed to be a map of the city.." He said with a goofy smile upon his face, a smile that simply said 'i have no idea what's going on right now'

walked into the dwelling behind the woman and took a seat as she suggested. "please, the coin is not necessary.. But the map would be most appreciated. I could easily make the coin back selling animal hides and forged items." He said and got the strange feeling that this was another scam.... But he shook it off as nothing, i mean why would a poor old dwarf woman con him out of his money?

Gaius raised his brow at this strange man who had descended the steps. "What kind of work?" He asked as his eyes began to dart around the room, looking for a quick exit if he needed one. "I must inform you that I do not deal in the work of assassins or thieves..."

"I did not strike down a city guard! I was told it was a thief in guard clothing!" Gaius said calling out David. "Was this but a trick to get an innocent man to steal some trinket?" He began to stand up and put his hand on the hammer at his side. Now Gaius began to put it all together in his head. "I will do no such thing if it means harming innocents and intimidating store clerks!" Gaius held honor very highly in his heart... as did all of those from his village.

Of course, Gaius had the intellect of a small bug, but he wasn't THAT dim. He could tell his own thoughts apart from an implanted one. "Leave my mind demon!" He spoke aloud and waved a hand around his head as if he were swatting a fly. However.... The suggestion proved a valid point... He must think before he acted... and he did. He had kept his hand near his weapon though he now had a slightly more trusting look in his eyes. "If I work for you... You give me no jobs that involve killing of innocents or stealing. If I find that you have been decieving me, i will rip your head from your shoulders and put it on display infront of my forge as a warning." he said... And that was no mere threat... it was a promise.

Gaius simply took the map, and enough coin, but not all of it, to get himself a couple good drinks and a cheap room for the night. He certainly wasn't going to this 'dwarven stout' especially not if that David fellow had agents there. No no no... That would be stupid. As he left the dwelling, he looked to the map. "Hmmm... Let's see here... The Dragon's tongue inn is..... Here... And I am.... Here? or... maybe I'm here..." Gaius sighed and began walking anyways. "Ah! I see where I am now." he said looking over the map.

Gaius continued along the street, still looking at the map, trying to burn it into his memory, and simultaneously not paying attention where he was walking. As he continued to walk, and avoid to pay attention, he had bumped into one of the locals, who seemed to be carrying something! Of course, Gaius himself stood solid like the Father Tree, the same probably couldn't have been said for the person he bumped into.

blinked and looked up from his map and saw that he had bumped into some one. "huh?! Oh! No, sorry! It's completely my fault! I'm the one that should watch where I'm headed." he offered to help the other pick up the logs. "Please, forgive me. It is sort of my first time being in the inner city. I usually stay near the South Gate where I sell animal pelts." He said and handed the young man the wood, seeing that he was much shorter than the person he had bumped into. "My name is Gaius..." He said offering a gauntleted hand to him, though he then lowered his hand seeing as though the other had his hands full of logs. "Would you like assistance?"

"Not really." he said and took some of the other logs that were on the ground. "Roderick... that is an interesting name." He said with a light chuckle. "What brings you out this late? Just getting back from gathering wood?"

Gaius looked around to make sure he didn't leave any pieces of wood behind. He was pretty bad about that kind of stuff. "I mean considering all the creepy crawlies that wander around at night, you'd think that your pa would go with you? Safety in numbers right?"

"I understand completely. My forge is the same way. Once the flame goes out, it's a pain in the rear to get it started again... Once you do though, the metal is never the same. Atleast not in my opinion..." Gaius nodded and took the other half of the bundle. As his companion began speaking about how his family owned a bakery and things of the sort Gaius simply chuckled and rubbed his brow on his shoulder. "I had you pegged for a mead brewer... Not some baker. Isn't that woman's work?." He said not really meaning to insult anyone... though he often did because he never thought before he spoke.

"It might.... But, I prefer Potatoes and meat. Then again... As you said, It might do me some good to learn something new... Even if I am learning from a milk-drinker." he chuckled. "Only joking of course." He had to add just incase the other understood what he said by 'milk drinker'. The Norse Warrior threw the logs under his left arm and scratched his back and chest as he walked along with Roderick. "Perhaps you could drop by my lodge sometime aswell? Might do you some good to learn a different trade like smithing. Maybe even teach you to use what you make." The Blacksmith smiled looking to his companion with his vibrant blue eyes.

"Iron? pfft! That's a Novice's metal I only work with Pure, untainted, Norse Steel. The greatest of all the metals... Especially if you get the forge to the perfect tempurature for a more maleable form." He said with a bit of a nod, however, the then remembered that if Roderick were to join him he would need to begin working with a lesser metal to start with... "er... Well, though you might have to start out on iron... maybe copper or bronze." he chuckled lightly and looked ahead just to make sure he wasn't about to bump into anything else. "So where is it that you live? Not too much farther I hope."
