Galadis had woken up at the same time and did the same things as she did all the days before. It was an ordinary day with her. She got dressed, ate, then went to work. She traveled through the trees before finding a dying small tree. "Oh no... we can't have you dying now can we? You have an important job to do." She said softly and held her hands around it. She hummed a tune and watch the tree come back to life. "There we go, now you can become home to many animals and cast shade for those who need rest. You will do good." She giggled.

There was something indescribable about hunting. Something pure. Whether to feed yourself, bring mercy to the wounded, or tracking a loathsome Orc. Girithion had expected that tracking for sport would be hollow, but as the day progressed he ended up happy to be wrong.

All day since her feet touched the forest, The Ranger of The Cursewood stalled her as if she was a mighty beast. And perhaps she was. That was what he was here to find out.

All day, through the highest of the branches Girithion skulked. The sun felt sweet on his skin, and as he watched his quarry he appreciated the lack of Demon's the Royal Woods provided. It was hell to protect yourself, and remain unhidden in the Cursewood, a task it's Rangers accepted with stoicism.

Today was different though, this was more casual, and if Galadis was sharp, she just might spot him.

He almost hoped for it.

As the day drug on, the Ranger was debating giving up his hunt, pleasant or not. She showed none of the qualities he sought, and when she stopped at a dead tree he began to break off pursuit, but something caught his eye. A grin emerged, and quietly he made his way down the massive tree.

"Well, that's something you don't see everyday."

The weathered voice called out from behind her. It belonged to Girithion, naturally, a rather shaggy looking Ranger. He stood at a solid 8'8, arms thick as treetrunks with a pleasant smile on his lightly bearded face. Should the Druid turn to face him, he would merely nod his head in greetings. The Ranger's eyes were surprisingly warm.

Either way he'd take a barefoot step forward, braided bits of hair swaying in the breeze.

"Its been long a time since I met a happy Kinsmen," he'd call, a bit of mischievous mirth creeping into his tone. "Especially a Druid." He chuckled.

Galadis had turned to see the tall ranger. Her head tilted as she took him in. Her blond hair flowed down like a waterfall of blonde hair. She had heard the stalkings of something, but if it wanted to attack her it would have done so long ago so she let whatever it was follow. The more company the merrier she thought.

She stood in her place as he took a step forward towards her. She could see a bit more details in the man's face. Galadis blinked and looked around before realizing he was talking about her. "Oh no, I just try to be happy. I refuse to be ruled by a curse that has nothing to do with me." She turned back to the tree and whispered a sweet word before watching the leaves sway as if dancing. She smiled and looked back at him, "I am Galadis Penior and you would be?" She asked.

"Girithion, Cursewood Ranger," he gave a surprisingly graceful now as he spoke. He jingled a bit with the motion, his primitive gear, and beaded hair jostling about.

When he rose, he made eye contact with a smirk. "Truly, you're wiser than many." He rotated her shoulder, loose arrows knocking about in his quiver. "I've lost a fair few friends to its pressure.." His expression grew grim.

With a shake if his head, he nearly whispered. "And witnessed a fair few Druids succumb." He left the statement to longer for a moment. He may have been looking down in respect for the fallen, but even the corners of a Ranger's eyes are keen, they say. He gauged her ever expression.

Relaxing into a slouch, he met her gaze once more.

"Tell me, this job is..Pleasant? Is it not?" An eyebrow arched. "Have you ever served in the Cursewood?" He doubted it, but what caught his eye about Galadis was her compassion. Long had it been since someone wondered Yasa, mending the trees, and singing to leaves. Even the other Royal Druids sang nothing but dirges.

This lady brought something rare, even here. Light. Still, he could hope for a warrior as well.

"No offense," he folded his arms, leaning back on the tree he descended. He pointed a finger at her. "Not too many scars." He chuckled.

She smiled, "Nice to meet you Girithion, Cursewood Ranger." Galadis did a slight bow as a greeting and looked up to him when. She guess it was wise to not let the curse take her over, but it was also a hard battle. "Wise, perhaps."

Galadis walked around the tree, making sure it was alive and well before she went off to the next one. She peeked around it when he asked her about her job. "It has its ups and downs like anything else and no I have not served it, nor do I hope to. I am needed here, not there." She said softly before coming back around.

The man was a strange one, she had never had someone stalk her or even have conversation. Not that she minded the company. He had pointed at her and she looked down at her body. "Oh... not on the outside at least." She chuckled softly.

All throughout the planet of Gaia, magic was doing something strange. It wasn't gone, but it was going somewhere. Was there a leak, or a pull? It wasn't too noticeable, but any magic user would start to notice it after a time. The magic was weakening, ever so slightly. But, why?
