Garen Flosanimae

"The safety of ones soul is as delicate as a new spring bloom."

0 · 1,063 views · located in Main Street

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by SkullJester, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Age: Somewhere close to 20. But if you count time spent dead, he is closer to 24.

Race: Half human, half...something.

Height: 6' 1/2"

Born with heterochromia, left eye royal blue, right eye dark violet.

Hair is a very light purple.

He normally wears his rose red trench coat wherever he goes, no matter the weather. Underneath, he has a simple black sleeveless shirt.

His build is very thin, but with hardly a trace of body fat on him. He doesn't try to keep in shape, he just seems to not get fat. Which is weird, since he eats more than he should be able to.

Image

Personality

He is very calm, but very emotional. A very light person, kind to a fault. He tends to stick his nose in other's business, if he thinks he can help out. However, he is not one to be crossed lightly. He has no fear of death, after all.

Equipment

He always has first aid items with him. He loves to help people. His goal is to be a doctor. And thanks to the herbal remedies he makes, the bandages actually heal just about any wound, even sucking out poison right from the pores of the skin. Along with his small scalpel, in terms of self defense, he only has his own, unique form of martial arts, and a small switch blade he keeps hidden up his sleeve.

History

Garen is human...mostly. He's died quite a few times, but he was born under the Spring Celestial Bloom, a rare astrological event that affected his very soul. Each time he has died, he has been reborn the next spring. However there is always a cost to this, but he still hasn't figured out what that is. Aside from his unique form of immortality, he was also born with the ability to communicate with plants, mostly just flowers. He can also see the souls of the deceased. He has a very short range teleport, no more than 20 feet. He is not faster or stronger than normal, but he has found out he can heal slightly faster than normal. Once, he broke his arm, and it was healed within two days. His mother wasn't exactly human either, but he's never met her, and his father refuses to tell him anything about what she was. The most he can gather is that she was some kind of fey or dryad.

He comes from a very well off family. He is currently on a break from education, and likes to sell herbal remedies...and sometimes poisons, to the right buyer, and for the right price.

So begins...

Garen Flosanimae rubbed the bridge of his nose. He was a taller youth, at least six feet. With his violet locks covering his eyes, he was hidden among the roses. The only reason he didn't really stand out was that he hunched over, studying the blooming wild flora. "Maybe if I extract the nectar right after they bloom...maybe that'll make the antidote stronger..." He mumbled to himself, barely whispering. He barely even registered that someone was close by. He wouldn't actually mind the company.

Garen Flosanimae looked up, a mischievous smile on his features, much like that of a cat. He waved. "And greeting back at cha!" He seemed to have a little pep in him. Why not? Beautiful night, wonderful flowers, a nice, cool breeze. His favorite time of year was fall, despite his connection with spring. "What bring you out here huh?" He grinned before ducking back down to drain some blooms of their nectar.

Garen Flosanimae replied, chuckling. "Oh, the same, pretty much. Mostly relaxing, just as you. And I'm also out here for work. The enzymes in wild rose nectar help cure temporary blindness, and theres a little girl who can't take traditional medicine back in the city. So I'm helping her out." He stood and ran a hand through his hair, seeming to glow in the moonlight. Maybe it was just the luminous violet hair that gave the effect.

Garen Flosanimae shook his head. "Nah. Not one of those guys. I just...like to help people. I want to be a doctor, and to raise money for college, I just do this on the side." He scratched the back of his head, laughing nervously. "It...doesn't help that I give the cures away for free." He smiled and bent back down to gather more ingredients. "I can't help it really. I can't charge people for what they need..."

Garen Flosanimae smiled. "Maybe so. But I can't really help it. My dad said Mom always helped out those that needed it. It runs in my blood, I guess." Garen couldn't help but laugh again. "I'm a softy I guess. Sucker for a sob story." He then sighed and made his way to a nearby rock, maybe ten feet from her. "I've lived in the City my whole life. Just for the first 17 years, I was in the Garden District. The area around Gambits and Main Street is a whole lot different."

Garen Flosanimae flexed jokingly, laughing to himself. "Eh, I don't bruise really. I'm an odd softy." He tapped his foot along to the beat. "I like this tune." He commented merrily. "And yeah....Everything is so sheltered where I come from. Which is why I used to hang out in the alley's around Main Street when I was still in high school. More realistic. More fun."

Garen Flosanimae blinked, kinda confused. "Well...It was fun for me. I didn't really have any trouble. In fact, I helped a lot of people out, despite the scars that it cost me." On his hand, there was a long gash, as if he had been sliced open along the backside of his hand. "And...what did you mean by emotions? I know they go hand and hand with music, but how are those my emotions?" He gave her that cat like grin again. He wished he could purr, just to complete his little facade.

Garen Flosanimae blinked again, before laughing. "I don't mean to bother ya. I don't talk to many people. Not so good at it." He scratched his arm and just listened to the song for a few moments, one eye always open. "So...can I ask your name?"

Garen Flosanimae gave her a coy grin, cracking his knuckles. "See...warming up to me already?" He the blushed, just a little, and scratched the back of his head. "Both names are beautiful, in their own way. I like Aria more though...So I'll call ya that." He would tease her by not giving her his own name, even if that was a little rude. He liked to play sometimes.

Garen Flosanimae chuckled. "Hmmm...Yeah I suppose you're right. People call me Garen. Yeah, thats my real name." He noticed the gleam in her eye and wondered if his nature charm was working. But she gave him the impression that she wouldn't just open up like the others he had met today. "So...You said you're a musician. Maybe I should find your music online. I really like how you play. Its soothing."

Garen Flosanimae shrugged, throwing his hands up slightly. "You are probably right...But I do like this song. I would, even if I was in a bad mood." He pulled a small vial from his jacket and took a very small sip, wincing. "Ack...I hate this stuff." He took another sip, as if forcing himself to drink it. Now that his jacket was undone, it revealed that his midsection was heavily bandaged...and bleeding. A lot.

Garen Flosanimae shook his head. "No need. Thanks for the concern." He could detect it in her voice. "Seriously, I'll be fine. I got this yesterday. All the bending over tonight seemed to open it up again." He took another drink before making a rather loud 'bleh' sound. "I do have to change these though..." He pulled out a roll of slightly moist looking bandages after removing the old, blood stained ones. His wound wasn't all the big. But it looked deep. Probably some kind of gun shot.

Garen Flosanimae scoffed. "Someone needed help...a girl was getting...whats the word, accosted? I stepped in. The jerk shot me after I told her to run." He finished redressing the wound, throwing something away into the grass. The bleeding had stopped almost instantly, well before he had finished redressing the wound. "I'm not normal either ya know. I really don't think this city has many normal humans really." He hummed, putting his shirt and jacket back on. He wondered if she had stolen a glance at his chest...probably not, with all the blood.

Garen Flosanimae shrugged. "Nah. I just heal fast. And I can talk to plants..." He blinked. "Oh...And I can't really stay dead. I'm actually close to 24, but I've spent a lot of time dead." She would see a small .9mm bullet slug on the ground, wet and shimmering in the moon light. "And...Yeah, like I said, I help people. I have a gift to do so. Its wrong to ignore those that need some assistance." He looked at the ground. He felt like he had just lectured her. "Sorry..." He mumbled.

Garen Flosanimae gave her a blank look. "You don't have many friends either huh? I can understand why..." He huffed and gathered his belongings. "I don't see why I try sometimes. I get studied and mocked enough as it is. Just my luck that you're the same as the rest of them." He kicked the rock, winced, and clenched his teeth. "Damn that hurt..." Maybe he had mistook what she had said but he didn't much care. He hated being ridiculed for doing what he thought was right.

Garen Flosanimae threw his hands up. "Yeah. Sure. I'm sorry too..." He sat back down, massaging his foot. "Not like I have any room to judge. And I should expect this by now. I'm probably the last nice guy in that god forsaken shit hole of a city." His mood was pretty much shot now. "Not that I would change that, even if I wanted to." He growled at himself and picked up the vial from earlier, drinking a little bit more.

Garen Flosanimae almost wanted her to go...but for some reason, he didn't. "You...don't have to go Aria. Just lots of stress I guess...I didn't mean to take it out on ya." He didn't know if that would convince her to stay or not. "You seem stressed too. Why don't we talk about our problems huh? It'll help." Even though her back was turned, he knew she knew he was giving his feline grin again.

Garen Flosanimae looked away, but patted the rock next to him. "I want to hear your story first. Obviously I can't read people like you can but...I really want to help out, if I can. What has you so stressed, hmmm?" His smile lessened, but was still there, as his normal, happy-go-lucky self started to come back to the surface.

Garen Flosanimae shook his head. "Every story is interesting. Really, I've heard empaths living in cities always have a hard time with it. They aren't happy places either, so all the negative energy gets to them. Or so I've been told." He shrugged. "And the music metaphor is lost to me really. I can't read a single note of it." He grinned, glad she had accepted his invitation. "So...Not to change the subject...But what do you think of those flowers, hmmm? They read emotions too. I talk to them a lot. The speak of the same thing really. The plants in the city are always weaker, more fragile and worn down. But they act tough."

Garen Flosanimae sighed softly. "Theres a girl in the slums. She hates her life. She's actually a gang leader now. Shes barely fifteen years old. Shes know for being heartless, cruel, sadistic, and icy. But she cries at night because she had no one. She cries...I feel sorry for her. One of her men shot me cause I tried to talk to her yesterday. I failed to save her in the end..." He paused. "I hate seeing strife. I hate suffering. I just want to make others happy. Even if I suffer in the end. I can burden it..."
