Power Hammer - A large hammer outfitted with a device, known as a kinetic amplifier, attached to the handle. Especially useful when dealing with groups of enemies or particularly large barricades.

The team sauntered in, their morale sorely depleted after witnessing the death of a comrade in such a gruesome manner. They returned to base empty-handed and one man down; Isaac was not looking forward to filling out the report for this incident. In the barracks, the Slayers unloaded their gear, storing their heavy suits of armor beside their mattresses. Isaac hung around, standing there in case any of his team had concerns or comments about the night. However, the general mood was rather dampened, and no one seemed to want to talk. He knew he had failed them, had failed the Society. With heavy heart, he made himself scarce, retiring to his own dorm room.

Walking through the main hall, he witnessed Garreth Jorgon, leading a team of Slayers, heading for the main entrance. "Heard you botched your hunt tonight, Irons. Shame, that." Jorgan was an unforgiving bastard, smug when the timing was right. He could always be seen walking around with his chest protruding, always acting as if though he had something to prove. "Let's just hope that bad luck doesn't rub off on me, hm?" he concluded.

He and his team laughed, at Isaac's expense no doubt, as they walked off. Garreth was leading his men to a raid; they had been called out to dispatch some wights that had found their way to the surface from the catacombs, the work of some demented necromancer, apparently. Isaac said nothing in retort, but merely let Jorgan's words burn, almost as much as his own failure did.

Deciding it best to turn in for the night, Isaac found solace in the prospect of sleep. His report would have to wait until morning. He felt exhausted for now, and couldn't be bothered to indulge himself further in his own shame.

They found themselves deep in the stench of damp corpses, bodies littering the area all about them. The Catacombs were notorious for flooding, allowing the dead to sleep in the streets above rather than in their cold, dank homes below ground. It was quite a dreary place to rest for eternity; it certainly said a lot about one's status and/or familial bonds to be put here rather than to have a proper burial.

Stepping over or onto rotted corpses, the Slayer team lead by Garreth Jorgan scoured the narrow passageways of the Lutetia City catacombs, a few of the men making jokes in passing about the deceased they trampled on. This particular group have been under Jorgan's charge for quite some time, each one of them like brothers to each other. They were all also quite unsavory characters.

They were truly mercenaries, serving the money they were paid rather than the Society's cause. Payment kept them in line, relatively, and kept their trigger fingers in the Society's pockets. However, they were still crude individuals, lacking any semblance of compassion or genuine decency, as evidenced by their foul treatment of the corpses they were dismantling as they trampled over them in heavy, power armor-clad boots.

Garreth had been instructed to take his team into the catacombs to investigate reports of ghouls wandering about. Apparently, someone on the surface had been attacked by an undead that they had seen emerge from within the fetid crypt. Of course, Jorgan was quite certain he wouldn't find anything here, nor did he care to go through such an effort to deal with a mere rotted zombie. But, jobs meany money; and Garreth never says "no" to money.

Weapon in hand, he checked the corner as his team rounded a bend, making sure no hostiles would get the drop on them. "You'd have thought the boss coulda sent someone else to check this out. One of the fuckin' Hunters, since they're so high and mighty," one of the Slayers said
"Probably didn't want to get their boots scuffed," another replied.

Laughter proceeded to emanate from within the hulking masses of armor, and even Garreth afforded himself a smirk. "Alright gentlemen, play nice," he said mockingly. He was just ready to get this job done so he could cash in his pay and go drink.
