Brief synopsis of past history: Gregory, or Greg, has no recollection of his early history. His first memories are of around the age 10 and usually center around the Jynthic Scientific Laboratories. As he recalls, he was never really allowed outside unless it was for training purposes and though he was allowed to have friends amongst the other test subjects children they were never left alone long enough to have conversations.

After he was a teenager, a young scientist, perhaps age 20 and freshly out of the University, saw the conditions in which the children had been raised and was horrified. Treated more like cattle than people, they were shuffled from their rooms to their classes to the cafeteria or lounge area and then back to their rooms at night. They were rarely allowed outside, they had no contact with anyone not associated with the laboratories and even the media that they viewed was heavily edited.

This young scientist, Lacy Greystone, sought out Greg and began to question him intensely but he had little insight. He remembered nothing of incident and didn't know that life could be any different. They had never been treated badly, to his recollection. They had never been beaten or abused and had rarely, if ever, experienced fear or hatred. Lacy investigated further, researching the patient's charts and discovered something both intriguing and terrifying.

The children had all been modified in some way, in a study to see if supernormal powers could be induced.

We've all seen the movies and read the comics. The idea behind super powers ranges greatly. Bitten by a radioactive spider? Genetic mutation? Personal trauma or tragedy? It allowed the idea that outside forces could induce human evolution so the scientists decided to try this in a sterile setting. Some of the children proved to take more easily to the enhancements, such as Greg, who was deemed as a Class I subject. His friend Sarah, on the other hand, was only deemed a Class IV.

They were ranked by their level of ability and since Greg was the oldest, at 16, no one knew for what purpose they were being bred and as of this day, they still don't. At the age of 18, Greg was released and given an account provided by the Laboratories along with a car, clothes and cell phone. After travelling for many years, he still hasn't been called upon by his creators for any specific task but he's cynical enough to believe that there will be a day when they will contact him.

Gregory King walked through the front door. It had swung open without so much as a touch from his hand but the patrons of Gambit's needn't know that. He had heard of this place and the people that usually frequented its tables and it had drawn his interest. He let his gaze sweep over the crowd and found it settling immediately on Evee. A charming grin flashed across his face and he adjusted his cufflinks before approaching her.

Slipping onto a stool right next to the lovely woman, Greg turned his head towards her and flashed the same grin that had crossed his lips when he first saw her. "What would you recommend?" He motioned towards the touchscreen menu as he looked at her.

Gregory King Greg grinned charmingly at the woman and punched in an order for the fettucine alfredo as she suggested. Good taste too... he thought to himself. Pasta was one of his favorite foods. "Thank you for the suggestion. I always ask for tips when I first visit an establishment." His blue eyes widened as if he realized he had forgotten his manners and he extended a hand towards the woman to introduce himself. "I'm so thoughtless..." he said with another wicked grin, "I'm Greg. Pleased to meet you...." he trailed off, obviously trying to extract an introduction.

Gregory King chuckled deeply, taking her hand and curving it so that he could kiss her knuckles lightly. Apparently, by her expression, she had expected a simple handshake. "Pleasure, Evee." He paused for a moment, cocking his eyebrow as he gently released her hand, letting his fingertips brush lightly over hers as she retracted her hand. "Syn? That is an interesting surname. I can't say I've heard it before..." He trailed off as both of their dinners were brought before them and he motioned to the server, slipping the bot the credits necessary to cover both meals, plus some. "Keep the change," he said pleasantly before turning back to Evee.

"So tell me, Evee Syn. What brings you to Gambits? Do you live in the area?"

Gregory King turned his head as he heard a priest a few seats down mutter something about looking at the menu. He turned his head for a mere moment and offered, "Order on my tab, holy man." His own bank account was still quite comfortable, an easy feat when you were willing to do most anything to bring home the bacon.

As his attention turned back to Evee, he nodded in understanding. "I understand completely. I passed by on my way to the Omni Hotel down the street. They have a restaurant in the lobby but this place..." he spread his hands with his palms facing up and shrugged. "I just felt like stopping in. No explanation since I've never been to this city before." He cast another grin at the magician as he began to dig into his pasta, savoring the rich taste of the creamy sauce enrobing the fettuccini. When he finished his first bite he kissed his fingertips and cast them towards the air like an Italian chef. "Delicioso!"

Gregory King looked over Evee, laughing slightly at her ravenous appetite. For someone so incredibly slender, she put away the sub like a ravenous wolf. Turning to look back over at the Father, he nodded at the man's thankfulness. "Do unto others. Right, Father?" Another chuckle escaped his lips as he tucked into his meal, plowing through about half of his pasta before turning his attention back to the woman on his left.

"So, Evee. I don't mean to sound dense but why would you feel on edge around anyone.... Anywhere?" His tone was slightly incredulous as he looked over the woman once more, trying to discern her secret. She obviously had one or else she wouldn't feel at of place anywhere but in this bar. Then again, everyone in this room probably had a secret worth sharing.

Gregory King cast a grin over his shoulder at the priest and nodded. "I hear that, Father." Though he highly doubted that he could profess ever needing to rely on a stranger for a meal. No one should ever go hungry but sadly, with the way the world was the occurrence happened all too often. "Come join us, Father." He motioned the man over with an arm, not wanting his attention to be split.

As he turned to face Evee he winked at her and smiled. "Can't let the poor guy eat alone. Hope you don't mind." He said, by way of an apology. Refusing to turn the conversation away from the beautiful woman, though, he asked her yet another question. "So what makes you gifted then?

Gregory King waved a hand over his shoulder at Templewick as he heard the greeting, always the friendly sort. "Ello!" He called out then turned his attention to the priest as he joined them.

"The church gives you money for food but not enough to keep you fed continuously? Seems like the church needs to learn about reality. No offense intended, Father."

As he heard Evee's reply, he bit back more laughter and turned to face her, winking at her once more. "I look forward to it, Miss Syn," he replied casually, only a hint of teasing evident in his tone. Lifting his glass, he took a large swig of his own iced tea before finishing another 1/4 of his plate.

Gregory King laughed as he turned his head to the right, towards the priest and shook his head. "Nope, I'm just a friendly sort of chap." He turned his grin towards Evee, almost conspiratorially before continuing. "I actually only just arrived here 2 days ago. First time I've ever been into Gambit's. Isn't that some sort of rite of passage here?!"

He got his first good look at Templewick as the snake-man slithered up to the bar and he cast another wave in his direction, just in case he missed the first. "Aye, lovely weather. Who wants a round, on me?" Greg flicked a credit chip at the passing robotic server. "Give me a Guinness, please." He turned to look at his fellow companions, eyebrow arched. "Anything for either of you?"

Gregory King was quite adept at acting like a normal human though that seemed to draw raised brows in this City. Usually his powers were the source of intrigue but here? In Wing City you were a freak of nature if you didn't have at least a handful of abnormal powers or biological advancements. That thought alone had him eyeing the priest. God knows that this city could use a holy man but was he really just a holy man? Befriending people was a way to find out their secrets, after all, so Greg gestured for the server once more. "A tea for the Father, then." He looked over at the snake-man and arched a brow, "And you?"

A grin slipped over his face as he answered Templewick's questions. "Definitely new. Too new. I got lost trying to find the damn Omni Hotel yesterday but other than that this place is quite entertaining..." As he finished that sentence, he couldn't help but let his gaze travel over Evee again, a grin crossing his features. Apparently they appeared 'chummy' enough for the priest to mistakeningly think they knew each other. Hopefully, he could make that assumption a reality, in time.

Gregory King chuckled loudly, shaking his head at the reactions of both Templewick and Alastar. "Does anyone ever treat anyone well here?!" He asked incredulously, a wry smile on his face as he looked at the two other men. "A drink is, what? A few credits? Do people usually only buy drinks for those that they wish to flirt with?" He stopped there. Obviously, he had offered Evee food and drink for that reason but even if she hadn't flirted in return, he would have at least paid for a meal. A meager expense.

Running a hand through his hair, he leaned back in his chair a bit then nodded at the priest's second round of thanks. "You're welcome, Father. Honestly. If the church ever stiffs you again, charge a meal to my account. What the hell is wrong with this town?" He was still miffed at the idea that people were so wary about a free drink.

Running with the topic that the snake-man brought up, his brow furrowed slightly. "Who are the Aschen? I've heard that this place has at least one brawl a night."

Gregory King turned his head to Evee as he waited for the snake-man's reply, brow arched. "I offer you a drink and you take a water? Spoilsport." He chuckled softly.

Gregory King looked over at the Priest and nodded. He couldn't question the church's decision even though he wasn't particularly religious. If the man believed in his penance than he would too. "Just try not to die on us, Father. The offer will remain open if necessary."

Then he proceeded to laugh at Templewick and was comfortable enough in his own sexuality to joke with the snake man. "Damn it, you caught me! I was trying to get into your... pants?" He looked at the snake-man then grinned at his own mistake. Snakemen apparently don't wear pants.

Hearing Evee's soft voice to his left, he arched both brows, turning to look at her as well. "Ahh, well I won't force you to drink with me on our first meeting but if I see you again I'll help you get acquainted with the wonderful world of alcohol." He laughed, thanking the server as his own drink was delivered to him, a Scotch. He raised the glass of amber liquor to Evee and grinned before downing it in one shot.

Gregory King grinned at Templewick, enjoying the snake-man's sense of humor. Then he glanced at Evee, brows arched at her response and he tossed a look at Templewick as if looking for backup. "You know what alcohol does, right?" He asked with a laugh following the question. "I know how you women work... You have a drink, the liquor makes you happy, you fool around a bit and then scream bloody murder the next morning." He tsked slightly and grinned widely, enjoying teasing the girl. "If you've never had a drink then you're a lightweight on top of it all! That's just askin' for trouble."

Gregory King shrugged a shoulder as he relented. "Fine but you're starting off super light. That way you can't blame me for a hangover... Or worse." He gestured to the robotic server and whispered something before sitting down once more with a wicked grin. Within a moment, the bartender brought over a wine cooler, popping the top off and handing it over to Evee. They were horrible drinks that the girl's loved and they were great starter drinks since they contained about 5% alcohol by volume.

"Drink it up, Miss Syn!"

Gregory King shook his head, gesturing to the wine cooler in Evee's. "Trust me. Stick with the wine coolers. Vodka burns worse and if you're making that face after drinking a wine cooler you'll be rolling your eyes back into your head at the burn of liquor." He laughed, looking over at Templewick and shrugging his shoulders. He tried to give the woman a drink. How was he to know she'd be picky?!

Gregory King tipped his own glass towards Evee with a grin. "No worries. Brat or not, I hope you're enjoying your first drink." His attention was diverted momentarily as Andrey screamed out something about corn flakes, causing Greg to arch his brow in amusement. He probably shouldn't.... But he played along.

"Damn breakfast cereal!" He exclaimed, shaking his fist in the air.

Gregory King shook his head at Andrey, now simply feeling sorry for the man as he turned his attention back to Evee. "I hope you'll forgive me, Miss Syn but I believe I need to get back to my hotel." He moved quickly, snatching her free hand within his grasp and laying another gentle kiss upon her knuckles with a wink. "It was a pleasure meet you."

As he released her hand, he stood up and slid his glass onto the bar, giving a slight bow before turning and making his way towards the exit.

As Greg strode into the bar, he curved a finger behind his necktie and dragged it loose. It felt like a damn noose around his neck and he only wore them when he absolutely had to and in Gambit's... He definitely didn't have to. Folding the satin tie, he tucked it into the pocket of his blazer then raised his fingertips once more, flicking open the top two buttons of his shirt so that he could actually breathe. Damn monkey suits.

As he stalked his way through the bar, he kept his eyes peeled for the lady that he had seen last time he had come to the bar. Hell, he'd even like to converse with the drunken snake-man or the Priest again, he wasn't picky. He just hated being idle as he drank in a bar. It made him feel like an alcoholic or something.

Upon reaching the counter, he tapped in an order for a BLT and a Guinness then slid onto a stool to await service.

Greg nodded in a friendly manner to Lena as he saw her eyes fall upon him. Usually the bar was filled with an odd ratio of men to women and today, it seemed to fall in favor of the men. Every body that seemed to stroll through the front door was feminine, though with Bug he wasn't quite sure at first but upon longer glances he determined that she was sickly- either in mind or body.

Another female traipsed into the bar and both of his brows arched in recognition at the book that Evee had commented on during their first and only encounter but the girl who clutched it was... Young. Not quite as well-formed as the woman he had met on his previous venture. A sister perhaps? The girl looked up at him, freezing in place and an almost animalistic grin formed freely on his face.

Ahhh so she's told her sister about me, eh? Greg lifted a hand, motioning the girl over and spinning around on his barstool all in one motion as his food was placed onto the counter.
