0 · 845 views · located in Grove

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Rulke

Description

Queen of her realm and loyal to Odin, Hel is meant to be an instrument or tool in Ragnarok but she wishes to not play this part, instead she was given the Norse Underworld and in return gave Odin the Raven he carries.

A loner and often depressed figure she is one about balance and refuses to exert too much power, due to her being born in part in light and in darkness part of her is always decaying and rotten, while the other half is youthful and young. Due to this two personalities have emerged the darker more sadistic side, and the innocent and caring side.

The Goddess nodded, some of this hitting home, but trying to ignore it, "You resent her, but you love her, you resent her because she's so happy-go-lucky and rarely considers implications of what she does. You do realize, I can see much, and you know why she became so heartless, it's because she always desired acceptance and never got it, eventually she just stopped caring and instead lived in a a state of madness and limbo. This is Lilith she plays dangerous games, because no one will trust her with anything, she tries actively to improve herself and no one notices. You know why she is such a lustful being, because in truth she lives for seconds, not days, but seconds."

The Goddess shrugged, "She does love you, more than you could probably know, I wish I could explain better, but everything she does is merely cry for help, one that given up, she does things for hell of it, no pun intended because this is only way she knows how to live. Lilith was made into what she was, the memories you remember, she was far kinder, assertive, but more gentle."

"I want to answer those cries...those pleas for help and I try to show her the errors of her ways as best as I can. I want things to change...I want things to be like they were here in Eden. I want Lilith happy again....because she deserves to be happy. I bring what respite to her broken mind as best as I can...." She said before sobbing a little then falling to the ground on her rear end.

"It feels so hopeless....I feel like I am dying inside from trying. I feel like I take one step forward then five steps back. I want to help her but I cant....it hurts so much everytime I look around me as all I can see is her pain. Her soul burns..." She said before beginning to sob into her hands, her tears falling into the grass "I want my Lilith to know her cries...her pleas and screams are being answered....and that my love for her will never ever die....but I feel like my words fall on deaf ears sometimes....as I only wish for one thing. Faith"

Hel smiled slightly responding, "She knows, that much is true, but..." her voice lowered once more, "A sociopath or psychopath can understand emotions but still find it hard to exhibit them. You have to consider she actually hates being called Lilith, she hates her past, only time she felt happiness and she was ostracized all because she was different, she was Adam's leftovers, why you think she resented you so long? You survived, she died when she fell, she died because she had nothing left to believe in, she gave into darkness and that's how she fell. She probably never told you this, but she did this."

The Goddess went on, "I actually asked Gaia a lot about her, and Gaia often looks sad when speaking of her, Gaia in truth consider Lilith on her lost children, who never quite made it home, all because only person who she loved, only person who could have saved her, she was..." Hel stopped short, "No, I won't say."

"Who Hel?" She said while turning her head, her only eye red with tears as she stood gently "Who Hel?" She said again while looking up at the sky "Because I want to hear the name of the person who led the Ultimate failure of human kind..." She said while looking Hel in the eye, dead in the eye "Who....failed.......Hel?" She just said again, her form quivering as Hel spoke

"You don't want to know, because even I think it's harsh, but Gaia has a dark side, a dark side like the planet's earthquakes, the only person who have could have saved her in Eden is sitting right here, she was just young and unable be anything but submissive, it was how she was created, but Lilith still loved her, desired her, she had already hurt Adam she would have done anything for her, but in the end she saw only walls and gave up Lilith chose to fall because she was heartbroken."

Eve said nothing as she started to walk towards the overgrown cottage gently, the beating of her heart slowed to barely a quiver as the life around her pulsated and began to wither away. The broken heart and soul of Eve screamed in pain as her fingers pushed away the cloth that covered the doorway and let the light of the sun behind her in. All that was there was an unused firepit, a bed of fur and stone and all of the pain within it

The Goddess sighed and merely whispered, "I warned her..." trying to undo her damage she yelled out, "But don't you see Eve, she never stopped loving you, even though she figured it was resentment, it was not, it was love, she loved you more than anything, so much she could never lose all her humanity that love she feels for you is the fragment left from Eden, it's the last piece within man and she wears it, this is a story of love, not of sadness, she found you, yes she no longer the same, but she stilll really loves you. She risking her existence for you, she gave the one way to kill her, all because she knows it what you want, she wants to be there for ya, she wants to do right."

The words would fall on deaf ears as Eve's pain only increased with each passing moment, the life around the cottage withered further as it slowly began to rot, decay and die. It spread over the land, air and water as the pool beside Hel began to turn black as the night with disease. The trees turned black and withered and the earth ran dry as Eve simply sobbed alone in the Darkness

There was a sudden burst of light as a woman elderly in appearance and smiling sadly would gradually bring forth life once more, appearing next to Eve and embracing her close and whispering, "Eve, the past is meant for the past, you can't undo events, you can't blame yourself for how you were born. Hel did not fully understand what I said, you are both my lost children, her being lost was a tragedy that could have been averted, but sadly nothing can be undone, do you believe saving her in time will somehow undo all this? But Eve just think of the happiness she gives you, the way she looks at you, and tries to do right by you? In the end Yahweh word overruled all I had to simply accept this was his plan."

Eve said nothing as she sobbed hard into the air, the scent of the area now reeked with Death as the woodlands north soon began to rot and fester with the sun slowly being blotted out by the Darkness that was Eve's grief "I failed her.....Its all my fault. I wasnt strong enough.......I wasnt GOOD enough...." She said and punched the ground, the brittle earth cracking under her fist as she looked back at Gaia and reached out to hug her tightly, sobbing into her shoulder while the outer areas of Eden were still rotting

"How can I make it like it was Gaia? How can I right what I have wronged? How can I show her that I answer her call day in and day out?"

Gaia would turn to her sadly and reply, "There is no fix Eve, I myself should have told Yahweh he was going too far, but I hoped his plan would fix things. Instead he turned one of his own creations into a hateful loathing being, who only source of humanity left is her love for her sister."

The Goddess would walk on over, and reply in turn, "Gaia is right, it's done Eve, don't live for the past, you could do nothing, this was all set in place and love requires accepting the person for who they are, you of all people should know that."

Eve sniffed gently and looked up at the two of them while moving her head closer to Gaia's shoulder as she just sat crying for a good long while. Slowly but surely, the Death and Darkness stopped...but the scars on the land remained from Eve's sorrow. Finally, she replied

"Yahweh is a Cruel Man...like Adam he thought he was right in all things. He turned us into puppets...I want to do to him what I did to Adam...." She said and from under the bed, a large stone knife levitated into the air, covered in dried blood "Gaia...I know you do not believe in Violence...and I have learned things. Things I must share...and plans we must lay. But I ask......no Beg.......I beg you.....do not let go of me......I dont want to be alone......Mother......."

"What gave you any idea I would Eve, I love all my children, even the ones lost in darkness and unable to return, Hel is my child you all are. I would not let my children suffer, but I shall share with you the day Lilith chose to fall, I think you should know, you may understand just how much she loves you then, you ready?"

She nodded slowly and squeezed the woman tighter in her embrace, not speaking but remembering to tell Gaia what must be said about the state of Heaven "I am ready Mother...tell me everything"

The area would morph over as window into the past, was formed and there sitting where Hel had been near the River, was the naked red haired woman crying incessantly into the pool, her a rock in her hands as she dragged it across her flesh. The view would change, so you were looking up to her and you could see the hurt and pain in her eyes, blood shot and soaking with saline tears.

Words could be heard, "No one... not Adam, not Eve they all use, they all abuse me, no one not Adam, not Eve they use, they all abuse me. Don't you see Eve, I love you, and yet Yahweh tells it's wrong, he tells me that kissing you was wrong, yet..." she dragged the rock over her bare flesh roughly in her arm, watching the blood flow, "Yet how can something so wrong and impure feel so right, Adam never even once confused me, it was all simply a process, but Eve, Eve why have you forsaken me?" she screamed angerily and ripped the flesh watching it heal over, "Not even able to have freedom, to live, I must see her live hell, live nightmares and do nothing. I know she feels for me, why won't she say, I would snap his neck everyday for her."

Another loud scream and lifted her head staring in fury at the sky, "You claim to be all wise, why do desire her so much, you claim it's wrong, yet you created me so does that not make you wrong Yahweh." her fury was tangible and she seemed livid, "Each scar I rip along my body is living example of what you have done, you used us, we are not life, we are dying."

Standing up she yelled out, "Well I choose death over constant undying, I choose oblivion over your facade of life. I choose..." with that she gripped the rock and ripped her face roughly with it, "I choose reality over your fiction, this is what we are mere puppets to your show Yahweh, so hear this and hear it now. I love Eve I want make love to her, I will actually go over there and break Adam's neck will you dare stop me or will you instead just watch in voyeuristic joy."

There was no reply and she replied a noticible snark in her voice, "I thought so."

With that she walked away and vanished out of Eden, not yet damned but pursuing the route to end her torment.

The memory ended and Gaia replied, "She pursued the Arch Angel Samael and took him in lust, to fall. It took some more time but after that she went into Eden to kill Adam, but when it was revealed what she had done, she fell and thus Lilith's tragic life begun to destroy her."

Eve just watched...in horror as she lowered her head and was silent. The world around them fell on deaf ears, the wind stopped blowing, the birds stopped singing and the sunlight above turned from Light to Blood in a matter of seconds

"Yahweh....destroyed us. He claimed to love all of his Creations....he planned for everything. Gaia...I have plans to make this all right again. I have many plans....but....I must tell you things. Things no one else but I and Sirad know. I beg you...listen to me now. Amudiaus has Fallen. He has turned to the path of Armagius and turned to a Path of Destruction. I know better....but I have also learned things which are vital to the Universe. Will you hear my proposal? Will you listen to your Lost Daughter now returned home? Please.....do not turn a deaf ear Mother....dont be like Father"

She paused and appeared solemn, "I see, that is troubling. I don't know what you expect me to do Eve, last I heard your wife destroyed Hell and then rebuilt it, are you expecting me to ignore this? Did not once claim to be for balance?" the titan seemed stricter than usual, Hel noticing this would reply, "Gaia, I know you are hurting because Terra is hurting, but Eve came here expecting love and affection, don't guilt her away even though you are angry at the treatment of your planet."

"Sirad felt betrayed....that no one cared for the Balance but her as we have all seen that both sides of this conflict seek to gain power over another. It is natural in this straits and times for one to try and subdue another. But...their can be no Balance in this or any life with the way things are. I have a plan...but it would require your cooperation" She said and hugged Gaia tighter

"We must be rid of the old system of governing and begin anew. Heaven and Hell united under a common goal. To end War and Strife our riders would ride with yours to bring about a new Universal Order in which instead of middle men and 'miracles' govern people...that direct intervention at an early stage would settle disputes. Angels and Demons would work side by side for the betterment of all. Think of it Gaia...the implications of it. Of course...it would not stop every War for power but it would solve all of our problems. You would have Hell's standing Army which dwarfs yours ten to one and we would gain your Guidance and Love as all in Hell so desperately desire. Many Souls who are Damned repent their evil yet their call is unanswered because Yahweh turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to them. Torture and Pain should be for no one...and most of all, It would heal the World. All we would need....is one last Great Purge to clean our Holy and Unholy Houses of all who would resist this Order. Then......we could have Peace"

Eve finished and reached into her shift and pulled out a large Amulet with a huge inlaid Ruby while handing it to Gaia "Mother....squeeze it. Please....before you speak your mind...I ask that you do this. I will show you the Maker of this Plan....I believe you know her too well"

Listening carefully Gaia sighed heavily, taking the amulet, but replying, "I will grant your wish about the amulet, but Eve I am not something who could purge a whole group of people evil or good, it's not in my nature, I am pained by even the loss elsewhere. I would need to think on this, but... there is something, and I am not trying to split you and Lilith up but, I have a request. But first you shall reply."

"Ask Mother...please it is the least I can do..." She said while looking up at her gently and closed her eyes softly "But here is a question after yours is spoken. Is the term good and evil not Mortal mechanisms? How and why do they apply to us? Their is no Good or Evil...their is only Balance. Those who threaten it, threaten all...not because they are evil but because they are Corrupted....."

The Creator slowly nodded and said, "They are all my children, whether they are lost or not. But yes, my request, Hel is likely never to become a woman in the most mortal sense, her touch actually is lethal to most mortals, but I know how lonely she is, so I your Mother implore you to give her one time of absolute pleasure just so she knows, she does not feel loved and even though she is from someone diabolical, I will not let her fathers sins speak for her."

Pausing she took a breath, "As for this amulet, I am ready to learn what it is, but I am sorry Eve, but purging something, makes me as bad as Yahweh, I am not a destroyer I bring life, I don't snuff it out because situation calls for it."

Eve looked back at Hel gently with a kind look on her face then looked down at the amulet in Gaia's hand with a slow nod "Yes Mother...I will do it. It will be kindness and pleasure she would feel for this one time. For you...and if my Lover finds out, It is in my Nature as the Lord of Lust to engage in such fruitful affairs..." She said and kissed her mother's cheek softly and headed outside "Go ahead...squeeze. I will leave you two alone for this" She said and headed outside to Hel and sat next to her, reaching out to hug her and to kiss her tenderly on the lips

The Amulet hummed softly and pulsated with a very foreign, very ancient magic, ancient enough to be as old as Gaia and even the very roots of the Tree of Knowledge...all it awaited was the right touch

Gaia gently nodded and vanished back to her area and smiled, Hel was going to be given a chance.

Nadya pushed her bike along the grass and smiled as she looked around her. She was rather glad to have a break, and even if she was supposed to be in school right now, it wasn't like anyone would notice she was missing. Except the teacher. Who would called the house mother, and then she'd get in huge trouble, but the whole public school thing wasn't really Nadya's schtick. There were only so many lifetimes you could be asked to redo school before you got heartily sick of it. The magic number was one. Redoing school once was more than enough.

Still, it wasn't like anyone knew, and the seeming thirteen year old knew that. As far as anyone knew, she was thirteen, acted thirteen, was thirteen, and even had thirteen years of history, plus the history of her parents. For now though, she needed a break to contact her ship, and make certain her orders hadn't changed. Sometimes, her job took er through boring life cycles, and so far this seemed to be just that. The current orders were simply 'live the life of Nadya Alexeev.'

She was used to at least being told that she was to contact or befriend or help someone. This cycle was just her starting at age thirteen living the life of the actually deceased Nadya Alexeev. It was a little unusual. She knew better than to say any of that though, even in a beautiful clearing far away from anyone else. Someone could be there that she didn't notice at all.

There was one who did not linger in the cities despite being curious of the outcomes of mankinds struggles, many would be repulsed by her visage, for she was at a glance such messed up aberration of living and death, but unlike what appearance detailed there was more to her. The woman was named Hel, she lived in a world of coldness and death, but she was not like that herself, she was a figure who experienced longing, longing to fit in or not be faced the harsh reality. Hel was different to most Gods or Deities, she did not flaunt her powers nor express desire to rule over mortals. She was merely part of an evitable cycle of existence, she had no discrimination to whom she accepted, it was not Hell at least in Christian sense, it was the place where people not worthy of Valhalla went, but that was not necessairly a defeat, it just meant you had survived to die of old age or succumbed to sickness or even died of natural causes.

In truth Valhalla did not attract her, she had attended once, but no one could look beyond her appearance, despite her loyalty to the The Allfather and how she refused to be a tool of her father. In fact Hel felt she did not fit with her siblings, all were monstrous in someway, generally singleminded and ultimately cruel, she had fragments of fractured humanity.

It is likely why she came to be here, she was drawn to the beautiful, the calm blissful joy created from such areas, and able to sit herself upon a log while listening to the world sing around her, it was truly gorgeous site, breathtaking. At times she wished she could mingle with the mortals, but alas she was stuck just being on the outside, but the verdant happiness created, was enough for her currently.

Sat upon a rock a woman garbed in black robe, she watched the fish swimming in the waters around her, there lives so full of vibrance and pleasures, so free, so completely free and not facing judgement, "Oh fish, I wish I could be so spritely and joyous, I wish I could not care and instead decide my fate... you are so truly radiant, and alive not disfigured or made mockery of existence, I wish I had such kindness impart on me."

Nadya came upon Hel just in time to hear here sing the praises of fish of all things. She wrinkled her nose, knowing her act was now on and spoke up. "I dunno. I think fish are kind of ugly." She called out and walked over to the robbed figure, dropping her bike to the ground several feet away and take a seat on the ground by the water as she looked the fish over. "I mean, I guess it's pretty watching them dart about, but they're still kinda ugly on their own. They need sunlight to be pretty, and you still can't get too close." She pointed out simply, then looked to Hel. Oh this poor soul. No wonder she felt like that. Still, something should be said at least.

"Anyway, I don't think you're ugly at all." She informed her. "You look pretty to me. Much better than a fish." She informed the other, then shrugged. She was forgetting something wasn't she? The young girl considered it a moment, then spoke. "I'm Nadya! It's nice to meet you miss. I like that your hair is two colors. It makes it interesting." Much more interesting than her own plain brown hair, cut by the house mother in a style easy to cut again and again.

The young girl admired the fish momentarily, tugging on the grass and pulling it out, breaking the blades and pulling grass form the ground without thinking of it. She wondered why the fish were here, if fishing was allowed here. It would be a good thing to tell some of the refugees if so. Then they could just fish for some food. Food could be a little scarce in the camps on bad days. She was kind of glad not to be in one anymore, but at least in the camps there hadn't been a house mother to be such a fun killer.

Listening the woman regarded her with the one living eye and the empty socket without one, taking it all in as she acknowledge each word spoken, her expression relaxed but morose, "Thank you child, but I understand my appearance is hardly picturesque... the story is when I was born half my body was obscured by this darkness, and in the darkness it decomposed. It is not something I worry about truly, it's merely how things are..." taking a breath with her one lung she went on, "I am Hel or Hulda, depends who you ask... my child... it is gratifying you comment with such high praise it brings a warmth to me I have not felt since Odin trust me and saw how I wish to be more than my birth-right..."

Once more her gaze returned to the fish, "They are so free, for they never have to worry what fate has in store for them, they are not the pieces in some wretched game where their whole life was decided... they merely swim content, living each moment like it is their last..." lifting her head she stared at them, "I could snuff their lives out with a single touch, for I am one who lives and is death. I could cease their thoughts, but instead I watch, they seem so happy, and they have an elegance to them..." pausing she removed her hood to reveal her full visage as she stared into the waters, her horrific reflection bringing sorrow to her one living eye, "Odin understood, I was more than reminder of Ragnarok, that even though my Father (curse the twisted monster) was Loki, I still had something the others did not have humanity and he saw like other humans I have emotional needs... I am content with my place, but I must be around living, to remember the radiance they exude..."

Regarding her with the empty hollow socket, she smiled although even that seemed upset, "I come here to be among the living, but far away from judgement, the hatred and inhuman words they could speak of me. I loathe and feel jealousy towards them, it unfortunately situation where my appearance speaks more than my actions, sadly..."

"Well not everyone is a model." She admitted and shrugged. "And you are a little unusual." Though she didn't understand how darkness could make half a baby decompose. That just sounded weird as all get out. Then again, this lady thought that being called prettier than a fish was a high compliment, so hey, whatever made her happy, the teen supposed. The girl wasn't comfortable with knowing that, and resolved to try and compliment Hel more. "I guess they are free, in a way, but they seem more trapped than anything else." she said and thought it over.

Did Hel just speak in aside to herself? Nadya surreptitiously pinched herself. Yeah, she was still awake. Mmkay, so maybe she was a little crazy, but that was kind of normal lately, wasn't it? After all, the kids at the group home were definitely not all there all the time, and this entire city was pretty different than her home had been, and wow, this lady was nuts, but it was kind of the new normal for Nadya. "Sorry your dad was a jerk. I'm glad Odin gave you a choice though. Too bad people can be jerks about how you look though." she wrinkled her nose. "I get a lot of guff cause I don't wear super in style clothes at school, but I guess it's not quite the same." Still it was kind of sad, and the teen smiled to Hel. The other was a bit scary to look at but she couldn't say much. "They also make fun of me cause of my hand too, but I mean, it's not like that was my fault."

The young girl held up her hand to show off the back of it. It was a mass of discolored skin and some scar tissue there, the skin not filled out just right, as if the muscle underneath was missing entirely. "And it's not your fault that half of you was born in darkness either." Which apparently made you rot.

The Goddess regarded her with curious almost confused expression, her one eyes moist with tears that would never shed, "You have some freedom, the concerns you have are minor to my own, it brings me some form of happiness that you can realize the problems we each face, mines are bigger and more tremendous, but understand dear beautiful child, your problems though minute are not inconsequential nor should you ever view them as such. We each have our battles, mines can seem bigger, but the politics of Gods and Pantheons is not something that bothers you, so though I speak greatly of my woes, yours are in fact bigger." pausing she gave her sad smile once more, "Your problems effect the living world mines is merely to not be what destiny decided, your problems are now, mines are in the future."

Though Hel was truly morose and upset, she could see the clarity of a situation like now, understanding the key things about it. It was not quite self-loathing or hatred of herself, she accepted what she was, no it was an intense longing and loneliness, even someone who lived in cold wastelands needed kindness and friendship, "I know it is not my fault and believe me child I am more upset not by my appearance but how my own kin and kind judge me, they are perfect in appearance and yet I who does more than those drunken lecherous swine revel and cheer evermore, but come someone whos appearance is dark and malign, they mock her. I was made a side show, and some did not speak to me like that... some spared me, but they are men of war, they care little about state of someone like me..."

The anger seemed to growing in her voice, before she let out a long sigh, "My Father gave me the worse punishment, he made me live, and those I try make others see, others look beyond the aberrant appearance, they see only with their eyes and not their heart... this reflection distorted and rippling is my visage, a monstrous account they can chortle over..." her gaze fell back to the grass and trees, "There is one who I spend time with, she is kindly and true... Gaia, she cares for all and never let's us be hurt, she is the most maternal woman I know..." regarding the stream again she went on, "That is why those fish are free, their own don't judge them based on appearance, yet humans thinking them weird looking, to have your own judge you hurts... I am merely a soul loyal to my Allfather and truly I wish my birthright had not scarred me so..."

Nadya did try to follow, she really did. It was a bit difficult though, all this talk of gods, and pantheons, and total and complete jerks who really needed to be grounded or something. She considered this, and thought of what she knew, mostly from movies, about Odin, and Loki, and all that weird pantheon thing. "Well." She said thoughtfully. "Maybe you should ask Odin to ground them from being so rude." She suggested simply. "And maybe not hang out with people who think they're perfect, because those people are just about always total jerks. And crybabies too, if you don't think they are." She suggested.

"And, I mean, you dad wanted you to live, but I bet it's cause he loves you. He's probably just, you know, pants at being a dad." She said, uncertain. "I mean, I haven't had a dad in awhile, so I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think dads in general are supposed to love their kid, and that not all dads are very good at being a dad." She offered, uncertain. It was the best she could do though.

This lady had lots of problems, and crazy was only one of them, it seemed. "Anyway, I still think you're prettier than a fish. If they can't see that, maybe they need glasses. Prettiness isn't just physical, after all." Prettiness came from within, if she listened to all those Disney movie sequels. The originals sure seemed to say that it came from without, but the sequels, and Disney movies not made by Disney all seemed to say it came from within. "...Maybe you should watch the Hunchback of Notre Dam. I think you'd like it, plus it has a sassy goat!"

It was the innocence, the quality so rare in most nowadays, but the innocence and youthfulness brought a big warm grin to Hel's features, well as warm as a half-smile could appear, nonetheless she spoke with exuberance, "It's such a rare quality to see such youthful naivety. It's endearing and truly sweet, and even warms my heart considerably Nadya, if only though it was so simple. I wish Odin could take sides, but he is the Allfather he must be neutral on these matters and well my Father is too often responsible for other extreme atrocities, still I should not be judged by his actions you are of course correct about this fact."

Pausing she once more turned her eyes to the stream, watching the graceful fish swim effortlessly without judgement or prejudice, while she considered her reply back, "Very true, not all Dad's truly care about their children, and well my part in Ragnarok according the legend is not as big as the others... Then again when your brothers a giant wolf thing, or a seven-legged horse or even a serpent that encircles the world, I guess relating with your kin is rather difficult." chuckling she let out a lengthy sigh, "It is nice to speak to someone of less judgemental nature Nadya, I am not used to it and well I often get used to my own company a lot of the time... Nonetheless this is intriguing prospect... although I suppose you deserve some answers, I am Goddess of the Underworld, so child I can either ask one question or bring back someone, it's usually not right or something should do, but well you have earned such a privalage..." taking a breath, she went on, "Think hard if it is a question, as I can only answer one if a person, make sure you are sure, I am essentially increasing their lifespan."

Nadya hesitated. "It is very kind of you Miss Hel." She began, uncertain, and turning to formality to try and gain her foot hold again. "But this is not a boon that I can accept." She decided that would be the best choice over all. It was not a boon that she could except in any form, given her own nature. "For I am not, in truth, a little girl." This was a goddess, one of the few she could say such things to "But I am an agent of fate, guiding and assisting people with the fates given to them. Nadya Alexeev died, and I took her place." Though there was no sign of any difference between her and Nadya, and there never would be. As far as anyone was concerned, she was Nadya, and even her DNA would show this to be true.

"The only one I would bring back would be disappointed in me for the action. The only question I would have is concerning his happiness and the happiness of our children in their afterlives. If they are unhappy though, I could not bear to hear it." She admitted easily. "So it is best I not ask, so that I can continue to assume his afterlife is full of joy." She wasn't going to have one after all, being an agent of fate.

"Besides, kindness is its own reward, Miss Hel. I couldn't accept a boon because I chose to be kind, to not judge on your appearance, when I have donned appearances far more frightful than your own in the name of my boss." she shrugged, uncertain. "I still find you pretty, though, and much prettier than any old fish. And Odin really ought to at least maintain order, and keep people from being bullies." Regardless of it all though, Nadya could not accept such a boon, under any circumstances. Her first life was centuries ago. He would be reborn by now, she was sure, or perhaps in chains like his father was, eternally alive and chained to the ground thanks to the fear of the gods. She didn't know, or care to know, and would not dare ask about any of the family she married into so many, many years ago.

The Deity listened with her focus evident, as she noted the change before speaking herself, "I did sense something off about you when I first saw you but I merely chose to instead accept it and not comment, nonetheless my gift was merely an offer. I know it's a great deal to be given a chance to have, then again when one like myself who lives on the outskirts of humanity is shown kindness. I just felt I had to do something, because outside of the rare occurence, you are likely the first who were not immediately horrified by my reprehensible appearance and you are in good company in that respect, since Odin was the other." giving side-ward glance she shrugged, "It is Valhalla, it's a neverending party, even if he tried to maintain order people would likely call him many names, the only other God who respects me there is Tyr, and that is rather to do with legacy... as my pet is meant to kill him, so it's more like he's trying to keep me from being what I am. Or what fate says I shall be."

Giving a pause she appeared distant for a time before speaking again, "For a long time I have tried to tell myself even if something is fated does not make it so, yet others will believe I am somehow to be a key player in this Ragnarok, I tell myself my loyalty is to the Allfather not to the one who created me. I don't call him Father as I am merely a tool to that cretin. I am not a daughter and in the end he never acted like one. Whereas Odin for all his flaws understands I am more than the path set out, which makes sense as he has studied life for a great deal time. Is it possible to prove a Prophecy wrong? I want to believe so, but if not is it merely naivety to fight what I am? I don't want to be that, I don't want to raise all the dead to walk during Ragnarok, nor hurt Tyr... yet I am reminded daily this is the plan? How is it the others accept, are we simply pieces in some cosmic jigsaw, without choice?"

Nadya beamed. "I can answer that!" She could answer a lot of those! Oh man, this was great. "It is super possible to prove a prophecy wrong. They get voided all the time." She said very cheerfully. "I mean, a prophecy is just one possible outcome. It's usually, you know, the most possible outcome at the time it's made, but people can change that." She explained, bouncing where she was, rather pleased. She considered things for a moment or two, then spoke again.

"It's like this. I'm an agent of fate right? But I can't make people do what Fate wants them to do? I can only be all 'well, let's go this way.' If they don't go that way though, it's just fine." She shrugged it off. "Like, Ranarok. Say that people treat all of Loki's kids well, and don't do that poison drip thing on Loki." That was about the extent of what she recalled. "That changes everything!"

She brightened at the other. "So, I mean, it's simple. It can be hard sometimes, cause maybe you'll really super want to raise all the dead during Ragnarok cause someone killed your pet antelope or something. But so long as you don't raise all the dead, then no Ragnarok!" She grinned at the other, rather pleased. "It's like for me. I don't actually have to do the things fate wants me to. I mean, it would cost me the whole immortality thing, but I wouldn't die right off. And I'm super cool with that. I choose to do them, and my boss knows that, so doesn't give me work I wouldn't be willing to do."

Which was pretty cool of her boss. Nadya could totally be fired and she knew it. They never did though, which was both nice, and not so nice.

The disfigured Goddess shook her head with evident sadness in her eyes, of course she wanted to believe the very words being uttered, but to understand where her mindset was... It needed to be understood simply that she had been told these very words and proclaimations. Even if she was somehow believe Nadya there was conflict for however wise and all-knowing this being was, they were not Odin nor had they likely gone through all Odin had to procure his vast limitless knowledge. Even he believed and took serious the prophecy of Ragnarok, "I want to believe what you say that Prophecy are not set in stone, but The Allfather is not like others he does not accept things without proof or evidence to the claims, he does not accept flimsy pretenses unless they have foundations."

Giving small shrug, "If you are right, and Ragnarok is not the destined outcome can you give me anything to go on? I want to be free from this fate, but I must have something to prove what you say. I don't want be tied to threads I can control, I want only to be free of this prison. I love kindness and compassion, I would never let loose the undead, but this prophecy hangs over me, it taunts me. I am reminded daily of how I will inevitably betray Odin... I WANT THIS FREEDOM YOU SUGGEST, BUT UNDERSTAND..." the Goddess eye was dripping tears as she sniffled and tried to keep a facade up, "Give me the source, just give me this ending... I want to be more than mere words spoken by people in Prophecies or words on paper, I want to be driven by my own action and not have my path laid out!"

Nadya looked to Hel with some great sorrow in her eyes, then moved over and hugged the woman gently. The other seemed to need it, and Nadya could easily provide a hug. "I can't tell you what the ending will be. There's multiple prophecies." She explained quietly. "Each foretelling has a different ending. All I can tell if is that there are records of prophecies that have been made, and these often include prophecies that do not come true." She wished she could provide more.

She bit her bottom lip. "...Most of my resources are locked away from me right now anyway. I'm meant to be a thirteen year old orphan. Thirteen year old orphans ride bikes, they don't pilot space ships. They go to the library, they don't access a neural implant. Oh!" she brightened and hugged Hel again. "We can look up prophecies that haven't come true at the library. Come on!" She said cheerfully. "I can definitely tell you if they were really prophecies or not, and then maybe you'd have a bit more hope." She brightened, cheerful once more. There was a solution! She just needed to provide proof of prophecies whose time had passed but hadn't come true! That happened plenty of times.

"People might stare a little, but they'll probably just think you got hurt bad in one of the invasions." She said, and waved it off. "That happens a lot. I did!" She waved her damaged hand around, then thought. "Well. Nadya did, and I'm Nadya, ergo I did. It gets weird being me." Particularly when she was dealing with someone who knew she wasn't really Nadya-Nadya, but instead she was not-Nadya-Nadya.

It got really weird being her.

Listening she murmured softly seemingly comfortable in this embrace. In reality not often was Hel ever hugged, despite the fact she did truly desire one often, unfortunately people assumed because half her body was cold bleached bones she herself had no warmth in emotions. This was untrue, despite her reprehensible appearance of semi-decayed or bony look on her right, there was a lonely optimism and hope alive in her. Even the emptiness of her one dead eye there was a spark of life occasionally a purple glow that dimmed and shimmered depending on her mood, it was of course not an eye-ball but it acted as one to create perfect depth perception. Still as it was, being held by another in gentle kindness brought a weak albeit blissful smile to her features, "I am aware there is multiply prophecies, but all the Gods and Goddesses believe in this Ragnarok, despite they know they will die, in the end that is what it is, we will all die... Isn't that a fundamental truth of life, even the mighty and powerful die eventually, though maybe you are right in sense that parts of it can be prevented, like maybe one can change the role they play... that is possible surely... I need not be the villian, I believe this thing is evitable, but you made me consider that perhaps."

Taking a breath she listened nodding acknowledging the complicated details limiting further help. Before she noticed change in the girl's mood, "That could help, I am sure seeing prophecies which have failed could educate me, especially as it will explain what went out differently and prove that even though things are said to be certain way, does not mean they will end up this way. Nonetheless I will not change my mind on inevitable death, that will occur, now whether it occurs on Ragnarok that much is very much uncertain, I think you given me things to think over, but yet I am curious now to see this location... I think I will go and I can simply wear my hood dear I am used to it. It is fortunately winter at least."

"Well, everyone dies eventually. And practically everything stays dead too. It's not such a bad thing, I'm sure." She supposed. she shrugged. She didn't really die. "I mean, eventually I'll die too, you know. I'll probably die as Nadya by the time I'm, I dunno, 30. I never seem to make it to my thirties." That would be fun though, to see what thirty was like. "Or at least for thirty years." she had been in her two hundreds, almost 300s last time, but that was just taking over a life of someone beaten down and in hiding. It wasn't, you know, actually living it.

The girl shrugged and then smiled. "I don't think death, the stopping of existing, would be that bad. I mean, you wouldn't exist anymore to really notice ro feel or anything like that." So it wasn't like there was anything to be scared of. Heck, she was pretty certain you couldn't be scared at all, if you didn't exist. The girl considered this and released Hel thoughtfully. She picked up her bike and smiled. "Come on, let's go. The sooner we find out, the better, right?" After all, it was no fun to be worried or stressed or anything like that, and she was sure she could help.

"I bet that Nosferatu guy has some that never came true and can't anymore." She meant Nostradamus. She knew she meant Nostradamus, but she was trying to get Hel to laugh at least a little bit. Nadya liked it when people laughed. It mean they were happy. Happiness was one of her favorite things to create, and it seemed she had maybe made the other just a little bit happier by talking to her. Good. That was exactly what she wanted.

Chuckling at the strange fate being rather adorable lapses inbetween talk like a child and talk like a spirit, she pondered as she listened with absolute rapt attention finding their philosophies though she explained it more in layman style was not that different. It was comforting that the purity of a children could win out even when the person no longer lived. In fact due to her station, she had witnessed many still births and such come through her halls. This was a secret, for Hel though lonely had a rather maternal side, although she never knew she could bear her own, she still let them sleep comfortable in her palace in Helheim. Of course she would never utter this to anyone, because there were already stories about her. if people ever found out... They may start to make up stories like she intentionally killed the child to take as her own, but she had not that power, she merely acted as figurehead to this realm, mantaining and making sure order was kept.

She finally spoke though, "Okay, lead the way, although let's not talk about Nosferatu, he and all his ideas turned out ultimately wrong. The prophecy of Ragnarok is believed by deities, but I suppose even they can be wrong, lead the way young one... and I shall follow, let us see what prophecies have turned out to be utter to borrow a phrase of mankind, bull." with that she carefully followed maintaining the even pace despite the fact most could not walk this fast.

Nadya brought back a small stack of books to the desk she had left Hel waiting at and put them down on the desk, grinning at the other. "Okay, so apparently the guys name is Nostradamus, not Nosferatu. The librarian said Nostradamus is the man, and Nosferatu is another word for vampire." she shrugged, sheepishly. There were too many prophets to actually pay attention to them all. anyone who thought she ought to able to was insane. The young girl did what she could and that was it.

"These are all books with prophecies and things in them, and about prophecies and if they turn out okay. They'll help." She said and then smiled uncertain. "We can try and look it up online, but, um, a lot was lost cause of the wars and bombings." she looked more than a little embarrassed about this too. A lot had been lost online, as data centers had been destroyed in the wars. Worse, internet service could be patchy at times, so even if it was up, there was no guarantee for how long it would be.

The young girl smiled though, and took a seat, clearly hopeful. "We're lucky the library is still in tact. They hid a lot of the books when the invaders were on planet, so the knowledge didn't get stolen by them, but they've put it back now."

Nodding she looked over texts they were sometimes indepths other less so, nonetheless it was fascinating to read, she of course did not get much times to read on the affairs of mortals, so this was utterly enthralling. Although for Nadya sake she tried to stay focused, but outside of occasionally answering she completely found herself lost in all this knowledge. It was utterly gorgeous, just to have this all to grasp. Still she did reply, "You amused me child, and I don't mind you made that mistake, god all this writing, so much stories and such never heard, I feel like I been deprived... Not often I learn of different cultures unless I take interest, so many variations and even some ideas of Ragnarok, that are not Ragnarok, in Christianity they called Revelations or the end of the world. Then there is others, it is just astounding..." pausing she read a bit more before replying further, "So many wars, so much carnage, and where are they, Valhalla because they died in battle... except the innocent... I deal with them..." there was almost a hint of resentment and anger in her voice.

Once again going silent she continued to read, there was such delight and pleasure in her face, though partially hidden by the hood, the way she roared through everything was truly a site to behold, she almost seemed like a child at Christmas day, just starting new books, finishing quickly due to way she could absord knowledge and reading further. Of course she could read at natural pace, but the thrill was making her wish to learn more.

Nadya brought the other more books and then smiled. "Here you go. I think it's most of the section." By this point at least. She grinned to the other, then saw the time and paled. "Oh no! I'm going to be late for curfew." Oh great. She managed a smile for Hel. "I have to go. The house mother is going to get onto me." She'd grab a book and head the the desk and get the librarians to write a note. That may let her off a little easier. The teen grabbed one that Hel had finished and gave the other a hug.

"It was nice meeting you! I have to go now, so bye, but enjoy the books, okay?" The other seemed much happier! Good. Nadya didn't even wait for a reply before she dashed off to the front desk, moving at just short of a run so she didn't get yelled at. The house mother was going to be so mad at her for being late, and Nadya couldn't afford the other being angry with her, or getting in trouble. She had plans!

Vercerigo walked into the library, his eyes widening as he saw the vast amounts of books on the shelves. A girl ran past him as he passed, almost shouldering him. That would have been a bit rude. He turned his attention back to the library, and nodded to the librarian. As he walked, he closed his eyes and ran his hand along the spines of a row of books that he passed. He loved the smell and atmosphere of libraries...they were his favourite place in the world.
As he ran his fingers along the books, his fingers brushed against one that was a little more pulled out than the rest. He stopped, opened his eyes, and turned his attention to the book. He gently tugged it out, and, blowing the dust off of it, read the title. "The Clockwork Three". He tilted his head and flipped to a random page. He read a couple lines and smiled. This was going to be a good book. He shut the book with one hand and looked around for a place to sit.

Sensing another, the Mother of all creation gently turned her head and nodded towards the figure almost clothed in the darkness of the woods, speaking kindly, "My dear, dear child, come I know you have misgivings about company, but even in times of great upheaval we must converse with snakes." the figure moved out, she wore a black robe, while wisps of white hair escaped her hood one half shrouded in complete blackness. Many would recognize her right away, including her father. Nonetheless she stood quietly listening but not speaking, although one could hardly ignore the scowl she made to one, before resuming to listen.

With her now here, the Mother of all Creation gave a caressing and maternal grin as she nodded to all, "My dear Day Star you make a valid point, but when one plants a tree it begins as a mere seedling. This is where we are we must intend to work diligently and keep things straight-forward. I have no doubt many would join us, especially since very few have ill feelings for I. But I would be wrong to choose to gather all, we need cultivate our forest, that means planting the seed with few, and let it grow into many."

Turning to Loki she gave an almost sad smile, "I know you dear Loki, I know you may have goals of world conquest, but even you don't want to mess with the prophecies of Ragnarok. I also know you crave respect and not be left out of such grand soirees, I am giving you this respect with caution. I need unity, and this means you won't be the only questionable element we use." pausing she went on after a exchanging life-long breath, "I intend to restart an idea you were not invited to originally... that is The Grand Pantheon. I am not Odin nor do I hold ill feelings towards you Loki, like all creations on this planet you are merely misguided at times, but I did not come here to speak about the past. You are being given this chance."

Finally she turned to the other, "I know I don't rarely call other, and it seems a shock... but desperate times call for desperate measures... as it was... Darkness looms in the ever horizon my naive brother Erebuz sees no sense in anything I call. Lucifer returns and with him things grow more difficult. I had a connection with children of Eden but they are outside of my sight now. I am sick of being helpless and watching malign people hurt my children or hurt me, I must only watch. We are weak when we are voyeurs, but as a group we could call to action those who would act. I am not asking something easy, but we are beings of considerable influence and power, yet we are restrained, we don't act like these beings. We instead are split, tell me how is this right? The Grand Pantheon must be restart and it must work."
