Herald Mark

Is a Werebear

0 · 231 views · located in The Bluff

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Morpheous

Description

Herald Mark is a WereBear, different from a Werewolf. He is larger, and much much stronger. He is around seven feet eleven inches in height. He is covered in gray fur which is only interrupted by white skin showing scars from blades, bullet wounds, or teeth marks. One of those scars was an attack from his brother bear, it had cost him his sight in his right eye. There a deep scar across it where the eye should be, was now covered by a leather patch.

Image

He has the strength of twenty five times that of the werewolf, his speed isn't as fast but is ten times that of an athlete. His skin is as hard as steel, and his bite can go through steel, as well as his claws which can cut straight through. He's resistant to a lot of elements but only to an extent. Bullets unless high caliber simply bounce off of him.

Personality

The main reason he chooses never to shape shift back into his human form is because he lost touch with that side. He has gone pheral and only runs the motions of being human. He will speak the language and at times act like one, for instance if he was in a social situation. But when it comes down to it, he bases his emotions purely on survival, therefor he tends to avoid any outside contact, besides other shape shifters, which in that case he is just protective and is ready to strike at a moments notice.

Equipment

He has a leather backpack, with a leather bound book, a diary where his human side can keep itself alive, a feather quail pen along with it. He tended to run out of ink quickly being a writer, so he resorted to using blood. He also wore shorts and a belt keeping them up, they were old, worn out and the waist band was stretched. On his belt he carried dagger like claw gloves. They perfectly fit his, it protected them and made them sharper and even more dangerous. At his belt as well was an axe, the one his brother bear had used on him to take his right eye. It was a battle axe from his clan, it had engravings of a great battle on the shaft of it, the axe head itself made stone from the mountain of the gods, a strong metal that was very durable and able to cut through many metals. He didn't care much for anything else.

History

He is a great and powerful Were-Bear from the Blood Cry Clan, there homeland was deep in the old herald forest, close to the Mountains of the Gods, a dangerous and sacred mountain range. He fled after he had slaughtered his brother bear, for his betrayal against him. His brothers jealousy lead him to the act, because Herald Mark, a name he chose for himself as time wore on, was next in life to be the Clans Head. Him and his people lived for hundreds and hundreds of years, he was a young adult at the age of one hundred and twelve. One day while walking on the outskirts of a forest far from his homeland he came across a town and a bar, where he decided to stay for awhile.

So begins...

Walked into the bar after having to avoid hitting his head on the door frame from being so tall, the night air hadn't bothered him so much. His reasons for coming here was not to escape the cold but to just socialize and feel human again. Hopefully his appearance as a werebear wouldn't alarm anyone. It seems an odd assortment of species came into here on a regular basis. He chose a table next to the fire and waited. It was a quiet night, he chose badly he supposed. Of all the nights to socialize, he had to come the one night that no one was around. His luck, he decided as he etched a little drawing into the table with his claw.

Herald Mark made his way into the bar, having to duck down so as not to hit the door frame. He was close to eight feet tall, the cieling was just high enough for him not to drag his large had across of it. He was a werebear covered in gray fur, wearing leather pants and backpack, an axe and set of dagger like gloves were at his belt. He made his way inside and picked a table close to the fire for good lighting. 'Aw' he said as he found out he couldn't fit on the seat, he then decided to just sit cross legged on a rug by the fire itself instead of going through the embarrassment of trying to sit in a chair that was to small for his body.

He took off his backpack and set it in front of him and began fiddling around with the contents inside, after a moment he took out a leather bound book, a feather pen and red ink that he had made himself, then began to write. His thoughts weren't many except for his continuous lack of human companionship and the threat of going completely feral. But then again he refused to shift back to his human form, for any reason at all.

Little did Tabitha know but in the cell next to hers was a WereBear that was going through the same trials as her. Freshly captured while he was asleep and most vulnerable after a long days hunt. "Damnit!" he roared to the tops of his lungs, the dust around being shaken out and floating into the air. He began to bang on the walls slamming his forearms on the door kicking at it with all his might. He refused to be held in a cage when he was meant for freedom on the open plains. A tube lead from his nose to his wrist, he pulled it out no matter how painful it was, it left him faint for a moment before anger set him in a berserker's rage. A collar around his neck, made him feel as though he were someones pet, tears streamed from his eyes. He was leashed once more when he swore to himself that this was never going to happen again. But it was forced.

An excruciating shock of electricity hit Herald like a freight train hitting a man after it was struck by lightning. The collar was the cause, he tried to pull it over his head but to no avail. What could he do to get it off. His head was shaped irregularly, he bent over his head down and tried then, but yet again it did not succeed, mainly because of his ears as well as no lubrication. He roared once more punching the walls leaving imprints from his sheer force but not actually doing the amount of damage he needed to be done, for some reason he couldn't summon all of his strength. "What have you done to me!?" He yelled his hands covering his hands balling into fists as he continued to pound the wall.

At that Herald froze. The electricity pouring into his body, he captured the thoughts of pain, and changed them. It was all in his mind that he felt pain. An illusion of the mind to tell one that he is in danger. That something is wrong that could harm the body. He turned that into fuel, his breathing became heavy as his shoulders rose and fell. It would look like obedience, but in fact his mind was racing with thoughts on how to escape. He may live in the wild, and be on the wild side some of the time. But he was still human or at least a little. In fact he was smarter then some, and an idea just made itself into the spot light. A large smile grew across his face showing an intimidating grin full of his razor sharp fangs. Saliva dripped from his lips as he couldn't wait to tear this man apart.

He watched a man two feet shorter then himself came into the room, he was holding something and had said something about a challenge. His mind was keeping what ever pain was already coming or to come at bay. He didn't rush the man, only backed up slowly.

He had backed up enough to make it to the wall, with that he took his claws and shaved off his ears. He'd rather be permanently scarred and be hard of hearing then stuck in this place that would be his hell. With the blood flowing down his neck he bent over, putting a foot behind him against the wall, leaning back he would push the collar forward, with that motion it came right off and fell to the floor. His claws went down and pressed slightly into the ground. "You think," I peered at the blades "Bone," he roared with laughter "Could pierce my skin? Your far to young" he breathed in putting pressure in his muscles "To fight me" At that moment he surged forward, all the dust in the room seemed to collect and shoot towards the wall he was launching himself from which left an impression like crater from the sheer force that was involved.

Something this agent did not know, is that what ever drugs were pumped into him, were consumed by his body that in fact had little or no fat to be stored in. The sedatives and what ever else was in it, wore off by the time he had shocked him the second time. The shocking had actually helped the process along. A loud thunderous boom echoed throughout the facility as it shook. Like a bomb had gone off.

The most the man on Heralds back was doing was shaving the werebears hair. With that he knelt once more putting power into his legs and then would jump up, he wasn't as fast as a werewolf but was ten times faster then that of an athlete. He had a lot of powers in his legs. He hoped to crush the man. Even though he had the ability to manipulate his bone structure, bones could still break under a lot of pressure. "I don't give" he started "Piggy back rides" He then jumped creating a similar effect, this time only faster being that he used the power of both his legs, the crater would be about five feet deep and spanning fifteen across, the glass itself would crack from the velocity of his launch.

Before he realized his mistake one of the mans bones was sticking through just below his collar bone barely missing his left lung while the other was in his right one, and it had collapsed. Herald was shocked by this and moved the pain past. Although for a moment all he could do was cough up blood. A pool of it beneath him. He put a hand out and tried to stand, but the coughing wouldn't stop. Beyond all odds of the situation he took a deep breath, it burned and with a roar the blood sprayed out towards the other agents. With that his breathing was halved, but he was able to move. He wouldn't be as powerful but he could put up a fight.

He took a stance, odd for a bear to know muay thai. His eyes were focused with an almost unnatural intent. He hoped to spare the girl who had run off some time, because she gave him a chance to escape as well.

Herald felt as though the temperature in the room had raised drastically, it was the man in front of him. With that Herald shot his hand out and grabbed for the other agent on the floor, he saw that he was regenerating his health and could not stand for this. If he was successful he would then bring the bone man and put him in front of the sight of the other man. In hopes that he would stop so as not to harm his companion. At that he would then rush forward once more using him as a sort of meat shield to force his way out

What the agent did not count on was heralds sheer size, being close to eight feet tall and having a massive build like any other meat it would take a long while for it to cook, for any effect, he wasn't letting up his speed, as he came within a foot of the man at the door he balled his hand into a fist and reached back aiming down so as not to miss if he were to jump back, he had a very long reach and the hallway wasn't large enough, he could dodge to right but then Herald would just through him the cooked man in his hands. But if he took the hit, herald would continue it to the wall crushing him between it and his fist that was like a wrecking ball.

Herald stared down the man "No collar?" He asked, trying to think of a way out, which he caught in his mind, slowly angling himself so that he was able to. He will hear the offer and decide rather he wanted to take it or not. He could smell lies, even over that of the man terror who had been cooked. Which is unfortunate, because his cells if they were the cause of regeneration would have been killed off by this mans power.

"I will have to" At this he ran with what energy he had left from his weakened muscles, and plowed through the already weak window. Shattering the glass that would cut through any normal person but not through his hide. With this he would fall into the soldiers who were aiming at Tabitha hopefully distracting them and even injuring a couple.

Herald tried to get up on all fours, he was seriously injured, thinking back to his days in battle with his tribe he remembered something. He had to focus, and concentrate, his body began to change, he looked less human now, and it was causing him a great deal of pain. In order for him to do this he couldn't focus on not feeling pain, so he felt every bone and muscle shift, he felt his organs change position. The bones that were stuck in him were pushed out like thorns in the body a foreign substance that it would reject. He puked and coughed up blood as this happened. He would be seriously messed up from doing this but it would give him time to fight. His speed was halved but his strength was increased drastically. His mutated muscles from the microwaves were more compact now but still tough. They worked as he turned to swipe at the soldiers aimed at him, they should have backed up, his claws could cut through the toughest metal. They should have known the quote an animal is most dangerous when wounded and cornered, he went into a frenzy, if the soldiers had no way of dodging backwards they would all be killed, if some had he would still slice a few of them.

As the bullets passed through his body he knew he was done for. With the last bit of energy he had he charged the man who had tried cooking him. He had a gun pointed the girl on the floor. He raised up onto his hind legs and then would pounce on top of the man, if he was able he would take the mans head into his mouth and crush it, but then would expire. Kill the man who had caged him.
