Icy Peak (Super Volcano)'s Story

"Hm..." Rick hummed to himself as he regarded the snow/ash with mild concern, "Well, I'd best get this beast delivered. Thanks for the help, miss."

Rick moved to clean his sword, which had seen the edge trimmed with a modicum of blood. The blade had a simple Hold Sharpness enchantment, which kept it sturdy and highly resistant to chipping and scratches. That wasn't to say it was entirely indestructible. It was a very humble sword, compared to the equipment of high-tier warriors Rick had come across before.

Rick was but a humble hunter. His bounty remained safe in the carriage, and he needed to deliver that to the butcher's before the gates closed. "I must head to the city, though," Rick said, "The local boar is not known to hold its freshness, and I know no ice magic to preserve it with."

Among one of the paths was a small wind up doll-like robot walking but sometimes running in these paths. If you saw her, she seem like a lost child but in her perspective she is checking out what is outside Wing City like the curious child she likes to be.

I've never been here in my long life, what will I find? Oh this'll be funfunfun~!

She said to herself out loud while giggling to herself. As she is strolling she will eventually come to the path fork where two mysterious figures are at.

"I'm sorry but, I dont think we can go back there" Crane replied after a moment, she held her hand out as the snowfall started; some of the ashes falling into her hand turned to dirt that quickly grew some green grass before she dropped it with a startled gasp as it turned back to ashes to the ground at her feet. Was it automatic now ? She sighed and continued "When I left this morning to go for a walk to clear my mind, I felt the ground begin to shake. Something is happening and now I've been told I cant go back into the city by the main gate because of the earthquake."

She pointed at the falling ash around them that was quickly turning the ground into a dull graywhite hue like snow. "And this is only making things more worrisome, it isnt natural for it to snow here; and this is not snow because it feels warm... like dirt..." She faltered in her thought. Something caused a volcano to go off.... If that was the case it only made it more dangerous for her to be there.

But there was another way, and she saw this man only had his carraige of a sort. "If we can get to the Western Gate of the city perhaps then we can get to my home ? You are welcome there with Leopardhead away on business its only me there when I can be there. But today it might be hard, the Eastern Road is blocked and they're not letting anyone through to enter or exit the City... its why the City Watch cant be here to... care about them" She pointed at the deceased on the ground quickly covered by ash

"Hurm..." Rick harrumphed in acknowledgement. He didn't pay much attention to the woman's ability to germinate plant-life. In his mind, that must have been one of the hero's abilities, "Yeah, this ash doesn't seem to bode well," He brushed some flakes out of his hair- or attempted to- but it only made him appear twenty years older.

More importantly, if what she said was true, then the city was locked down. The hunter wasn't coming in anytime soon. "I'll need to pack up my things for travel then," Rick then turned and began heading back down the road. He paused for a moment as he spotted what appeared to be an oversized wind-up doll. After the pause, the hunter recollected himself and began dismantling his camp. He folded up the tent canvas, rolled up and tied storage knots on the ropes, dumped a bucket of water with an accumulated ash film over the remnants of the fire, and subsequently threw everything into his rune-powered travelling cart.

He was going to be busy for a few minutes as he did so.

Four men sat in a hoverbus of a sort monitoring the area. With the reports coming from the capital at Wing City of the earth quake these four men were sent to keep watch in the case of an eruption,. which sadly came moments after the report from the city. "Sir, reports from the city just came in on the l;atest earthshake news, its a ten, a solid ten and still getting stronger"

The leader of the foursome simply watched the icy mountains before them, ice was breaking apart and sliding down the sides, steam hissing. Finally a loud crack was heard and visibly seen as ash started spewing forth from the tip of the icy peak itself, the towering mountain spewed ash for miles into the sky. "There!" Said the leader of the group while pointing at the ash. he turned to the radio man "Call in the report, as of zero three hundred hours local Wing City time Ice peak Mountain has begun spewing ash seven miles into the air, surrounding areas must be evac'ed ASAP."

Fingers flew over the radio as the report was sent, a reply came "Observation team stand by, we're getting reports of ash falling in the city not related to the earthquake, whats your current status over ?"

The leader grabbed the radio "This is Observation Team Lead; we have a visual on the ash cloud point of origin, I repeat Ice Peak Mountain is spewing ash...." He broke off as the lava itself blasted upwards like a firetounge "Make that just erupted. I repeat, Ice Peak Mountain has now gone critical, Ice floes are falling from the mountainside in steaming droves. Evac those require!"

"Copy that Observation Team Lead, we're reading volcanic activity at ice Peak Mt. Windcrest is nearby and according to our readings directly in the path of the ice floes, get your asses over there and start evac now, Over."

"Copy that, we're on our way" Getting off the radipo the leader spoke "Get us out of here and over to Windcrest City now!" As the lava erupted into the sky sending ash spewing into the air for miles the hoverbus turned and floored it away as fast as it could move, which was pretty dang fast come to think of it. Ash soon however turned the air into a blizzard like conditions

By the time everything ewas inside the horseless carriage which Crane knew had to be some kind of van or car or something, she grew up with the things personally. After all being the grandchild of Peter Pan did give you some benefits. Of course by the time Rick had everything in his horseless carraige there was two inches of ash on Cranes head, she kept brushing it away and the bbreeze swept the area, making it briefly hard to see.

She looked up into the falling ash, tryingto see the trees above them only to not see far into the air as it was a grey cloud of hoarfrost in a way. but it wasnt cold. Where was this ash coming from ?? She turned and briefly saw someone stumbling by but then paid them little heed as she turned towards Rick, the ash was making it briefly hard to see even him until she caused the breeze around them to clear the area little bit. She saw Rick briefly having trouble breathing until she cleared the air a bit. "Are you alright ?"

"Command! This is Marauder Bomber Squadren Delta! We have approached the target zone! What are your orders?" The voice spoke behind a box transmition. In the skies six bombers belonging to the Imperium Of Man flew in the skies. "Good work, here are your orders: I have received reports that a super volcano has erupted. I want your squad to perform a carpet bombing using Krak bombs to create massive tranches around your area to stall the lava flow. I am working on my end to arm the cities shield generator. Your work here will dictate how many people live and die. Emperor be with you."

With the order received, the squadren flew into a line formation as the hatched under the ships opened up reavealing their payload. Over the forests, clear of any civilians. "On my mark! Three...Two...One...Launch!" The lead commander shouted as the bomberers unleashed their payload. As the bombs made impact with the ground, they bore for a few seconds before exploding creating deep and narrow holes. The bombers flew steady, carving a massive trench in front of the lava flow.

Demor's meditation ended with the smell of smoke and ash. His Draconian eyes snapped open and his pupils dilated. He stood and moved to lower his hood, revealing his scarred face and brown hair. He narrowed his eyes, able to see the plume of smoke easily. His tail twitched beneath his cloak and within the blink of an eye, he vanished, moving through the snowy forests towards the mountain. He stopped in a rural town in the middle of nowhere, but with the mountain in plain view....and the ash coming down as it was, he needed to be here, to protect as much as he could.

He knelt an quickly used the hood of his cloak to make a make-shift mask while also protecting his body from the elements around him with the rest of the hooded cloak. The sole Male Drachini then stood and moved to the outskirts of the town. He didn't need to tell people to move, as people were already grabbing their things and high-tailing it out of dodge. He smiled. Good.

Lightning sparked around his body and he raised his hands to the sky for a moment before he jumped.

"Lightning Dragon Slayer, ancient technique...Thunder Pit!" He cried. A yellow circle with the semblance of a Dragon appeared and he then rocketed towards the ground behind the trenches created by the bombers. His hands slammed into the ashen-covered dirt, and for a moment, nothing happened, before suddenly, for a mile in each direction a fifty foot deep trench was created, curving around the town. Lightning of yellow and purple sparked within the pit, annihilating anything caught within the hole whether it be organic or in organic. It was true neutral. Anything caught inside would perish from electrical shock and burns, their atoms being pulled at by the magic.

Demor stood and watched the bombers make their runs, and felt the heat of the lava, relishing it in as his blood was naturally colder than most people's due to his being reptilian in nature. He sighed and set to work creating additional trenches to slow down the lava flow.

She could barely see the icy Peaks as he mentioned and pointed towards them. the ash was so thick she could have been looking at a tree but it didnt matter. Crane wasnt wearing a mask, "What could set off such a plume of...." Her voice trailed off as some of the ash that she caught felt... hot ? What the hell ?!

Crane stood stock still as the ash fell like a blizzard yet none remained on her head thanks to the sudden breeze. this was surreal. "Something... whoa" She stumbled as she felt the tremor then, and not by the movement of the carraige either. An earyhquake, that had to be it!

If an earthquake set off the volcano, far in the distaince Crane could barely make out flames spewing from the top of the ice peak. She pointed at it as Ricks carraige turned in place. "That isnt good...."

Meanwhile high on the icy peaks steam rose as lava crept down melting and charring the very whiteness. Loud hissing heard as the snow tried to cool the impending flow easing downwards driven by the rules of gravity.

Completely melting the whiteness.

Hot boiling liquid magma oozing and bubbling. Only halted temporarily by blankets of snow, but even the mass amount of whiteness covering the slopes could not prevent it from breaking through. Splashing and bubbling. Covering the plains in red hot molten rock and flame, any trees met either burned to cinders or were felled by the pressure pushing against them. It was fortunate the nearest locations were still far off, although when the volcano exploded it would send debris for miles around. Nowhere would be safe. Nonetheless, the lava continued to cascade ever onwards, sizzling and burning the blankets and great plumes of steam rising up as the cold water met the hot magma.

Not enough to settle or cool it, instead it just continued to slurp and tunnel through the drifts. Leaving the plains scarred with rivers of redness and orange crashing ever onwards. Fiery streams where huge clouds of smoke rose off the mountain raining ash further afield.

The volcano was old, almost as old as Terra and for a long time, it had remained dormant. Of course, people had warned of this, but tests after tests had shown it was stable. The tapping into the plates and core had caused a tremendous chain-reaction that had built pressure up to excruciating levels before finally imploding onwards.

Great sheets of ice and snow being flung to four winds.

As Yae was approaching the path fork and those figures seem to be riding into one of the forks in a weird carriage, The robot didn't really care about them however. The huge cloud of ash that the figures noticed a few seconds ago started to block Yae's glass vision.

Eeh? Is my right eye going out?

Yae said to herself blinded. Yae then wiped the ash from her eyes with her slightly grayish apron only then to realise that huge ash cloud coming from the south which made her fall off feet in surprise.

Yae's shock was short lived as she just wanted to see what is outside Wing City, she came to the middle of the path fork itself; Yae knows NOT to go south as the weird ash was coming from there.

I'll~ go... East!

Which was actually west; Yae came from the north which was Wing City so thats why the directions may seem flipped, she be heading off to the Winding Path, Yae excitedly skipped there thinking of what sorts of adventure was there.

"We are nearly there! Just...Oh frak! Bail now! Bail now!" The driver yelled as the section of street they were on had destabilised and began to sink thatning to bury them in rubble. The squad of eight, accompanied by a psyker bailed from their transport which slid down a slop and crashed into rubble before slowly being buried. "Keep a move on men! We are only a yard away from our target! Work hard and fast!" The seargent called out as the squad carefully but quickly traversed the unstable ground.

As they closed in on the location, the Psyker could feel the energy everywhere. "Close!....CLOSE!...we are near...This power will break the planet!...It must be stopped!..." The psyker rambled on as it could feel the danger this possessed. The guardsman now aware of the risks doubled on their efforts, Las-guns switched to full auto. They were now just a few feet away, they pray this would be quick.

"Чёрт!" Rick blurted as the quake shook everything within the carriage, "As a civilian, I should make haste for safety. Will you be alright, miss?" The carriage rode up to the woman. He also called after the short automaton if she needed a lift to evacuate the area.

Thr ground shook madly under her feet nearly sending her to the ground in ah eap as the ash fell like snow. it subsided briefly. She waved her hand infront of her face briefly blowing to keep the ash out of her nose and mouth. "The question is not me, but you, my home may be stable and clean, but I am not sure if we can get there from here while together." She said, then she remembered; she reached into her belt where her sword hilt poked from and withdrew a paper, using a bit of magic she scrawled an address on tihe paper and hended it up to Rick.

"Get out of this ash and to that address, if it still is ash laden sky, dont worry, the runes there will clear it. if I am not there by time you get there, use this code to let yourself in" the numbers, written in runes of course, was the passkey to get into the house without a problem for the rune secure net she had set up.

She cast a brief glance at the strange contraption Rick spoke to. "I will be fine. Get to that address, if Leopardhead is there he'll recognise my writing. I have to fimnd out whats causing this, it doesnt feel right." the ground rumbled under her feet again, this time it sent her tumbling as the ground rolled crazily, she crashed against a tree ahd shook her head to clear it of the stars she briefly saw.

She got back to her feet, suing her sword now as a walking stick to keep her feet, "Go, I willmeet you there as soon as I can! You'll be safe there." With that she turned and seemingly disappeared with the sudden cry of a bird

Along a crack in the earth spewing sulfur a vent from the volcano hissed as a creature rammed his way across the planes with a proper gate. He bled the growing power of earth to fuel his own needs to escape the black storm. The way was an elegant transfer of mind-creatures but Hashim needed a more physical way through the crack in reality allowing access to this world. Amid the sulfur and light frost edged up the side of the volcanic vent then fractured. A detonation of gravitic forces shattered the rocky burnt earth throwing frozen boulders free. A single creature stood atop magma cooled quickly into obsidian as the lava busily melted it from underneath. Heavy boots made crinkling noises as they crushed the volcanic glass glowing yellow underneath.

A noise not of fire or molten rock caught Hashim's attention and curiosity. How interesting perhaps mankind has changed since he'd last seen them. A small gesture cast discern location on the curious noise source. A gossamer book appears out of thin air as Myrkul's almanac came to Hashim. Flowing words and runes over the blank pages indicate direction to the arcane mind. Soft sure footsteps pounded into the earth for good anchor.

Shortly, along the road through the haze of ash a light walked up to the side of the road. A yellow burning light from within armor in the shape of a man. Up the embankment through the blizzard of drifting death Hashism moved closer to the path of the curious moving metal vehicle in the distance. He'd wanted to inspect the curious vehicle and knowing they couldn't see him aimed to make sure it survived.

A creature of artifice he drew a faint pattern of runes in the ash as cones of headlights point his way. He waited patiently a hand aglow with the spell ready to pound his armored hand into the surface etching draconic into the frame protecting the vehicle from fire.

The WCA intercom crackled and a new voice came through, one not heard on this planet for a few months. "This is Jedi Kinara of the Obsidian Eagle. I came to Terra as soon as I felt the disturbance in the Force. There is a lot of ash, what happened?" there was a pause as she waited for an answer. Then to that, she responded, "I'm going to set the Obsidian Eagle down in low atmospheric geo-sync orbit over the city's Main gates, please do not attack." she asked. From the cloud of ash, a massive ship, similar to a Star Destroyer, came rumbling down into the atmosphere quickly. Seven more ships, smaller in size but similar in shape, also entered, but hovered higher above the ground, using their bulk to both catch ash and any falling large rocks that may be hurtling towards the city. The sight was both ominous, and welcoming. Four smaller ships, Tartan Patrol cruisers, also appeared and then hovered nearby, closer to the Eagle as they were her main support ships. They were in a defensive position, making no moves to attack.

"Designate Landing Zones for my Transports, I can load 30 people at a time on each transport, and I've got a lot of them, from all eight of my ships. We'll use the main hangar of the Eagle as a sort of refugee camp. How copy?"

A great buzzing sound became apparent as the hangars of the Valliant Class Star Destroyer (the 'Eagle) and her seven Venator Class Star Destroyer Escorts opened. A large swarm of transports descended upon Wing City. Piloted by old reprogrammed Battle Droids, they flew steady and slow, in a non-threatening way. The last thing anyone needed was for what was supposed to be help get shot down.
