a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Moonscar, as played by Sennen

Description

A Nymph of the Golden Tower, Ione is normally out and about doing important work, or perhaps even unimportant work, depending on the demands of the current Tower Overseer.

Though she seems fairly young, only twenty years in age, there is a sharp intelligence in her eyes. Still, her expression, when being true to her person, instead of hiding craftily behind a facade, is often distant, or a deadpan. Most think she is world weary. Some think she is rather stupid. Others believe she has lost her mind to the Golden Tower.

Perhaps one of them is true, and at the same time, they could all be untrue.

Ione works as an entertainer, a courtesan, a spy, and runs errands for the Tower of Gold. Like all Nymphs, her hair is a golden blonde; she is slim, but shapely; her features are soft, but her eyes are striking; her skin is smooth, with a light tan. All the product of the constant pampering and upkeep that Nymphs of the Golden Tower need to have to keep their job. When they become wrinkly and old, they are retired to the kitchens or the washrooms, where they are not seen by guests, or are given the roles of teachers to the next generations of Nymphs.

"When I was asked to show the new girls around the tower and give them tips, the one thing I always told them is to never let them know how much you can do. No matter who it was. You'll always need a new trick to pull."

She had been walking for days. She barely stopped on her journey to rest or eat, but the effort did not seem to wear on her. At least, it did not show upon the face of the Tower Nymph, who claimed to be a human woman with the cute little nickname. However, after such a long journey with little expense, she simply had to be more.

Perhaps it was because of the Golden Tower, with a distinct supernatural air about it. The Golden Tower was miles away now, worlds away, but Ione could feel its will within her, pushing her forward. Why? She did not know, and she did not question it. She only followed it, as she had done since she was young. As she would so until she was old.

Her blonde hair was in a braid over one shoulder, and her faintly violet eyes, half-lidded, darted about the woods as she walked. Her feet were bare, dirty, and lightly scratched from walking through thorn bushes and other such shrubbery.

Ione felt a tremor beneath her feet as something crashed into the ground, and her attention was immediately averted. Warily, she picked her way through bush and branch until she came to the origin of the crash, making her way around it to get the full scope of what she was dealing with.

More out of curiosity than out of any kindness in her heart, the Nymph approached the being in the crater, still as warily as before. Each step was so delicate, so well placed, that her approach was difficult to hear by any human ears.

"Are you hurt?" she asked aloud, her voice deep, but not husky. It was a smooth, powerful tone of voice. "Do you need assistance?"

Ione was alright at reading faces, reading small signs. She could see the pain clearly in this being's face. Her own showed a distinct lack of emotion, though one eyebrow quirked just a tad. "There is clearly something wrong." she told her. "You do not seem hurt, however, you did take such a dangerous...dive."

Her head turned to the side just a tad. She blinked those violet eyes of hers and pursed her lips. "If I could be so brave, could I ask what needs changing?" she asked her, keeping at least four feet away. She certainly wasn't afraid of her, oh, no, just making sure. This lizard woman certainly wasn't the strangest thing Ione had ever seen.

One such woman who came through the gate would command a few double-takes.

Beauty was certainly in the eyes of the beholder, but in the eyes of most beholders, this one certainly was a beauty. She was the craft, the end product, of years of careful choice, preening, delicate handling, and constant care. Not just anyone became a Nymph of the Golden Tower. You had to be beautiful. You had to be godly.

And Ione was both.

Golden treads fell over her shoulders in soft waves, over top a peach blouse that was filled out, but not overflowing. Her lips were plump, her eyes barely slanted at the ends, and her nose round, but not flat. Soft features, hourglass shape. No one could complain of this woman.

As she walked her eyes wandered around, finally coming to linger on Fortis a bit longer than everything else.

She did not take her eyes off of him as he approached her, however the parting crowd around him did not escape her notice. A smile just nearly came to her lips after he spoke.

"You are so sure I am one of those people?" she asked him, gazing at him calmly, without any sign of fear whatsoever. In fact, she even seemed curious, despite drawing conclusions that this man was dangerous. "I am not so wealthy, though it is easy to understand why others might think so."

She combed her fingers through her hair, pulling it over her shoulder as she listened, then contemplated. All the while, she did not smile, did not even so much as smirk. "Modesty. Or perhaps it is just that I know things that you do not?" she asked.

"Very well. You may take me further into the city." She looked at him expectantly, with eyes that were busy working something out. Trying to unravel secrets with too little information.

She took his arm without any hesitation, and walked with him down the street.

"Ione," she told him. "Ione Fanil. I'm quite fond of it, but whether you like it or not is up to you." She should have been flattered at his comments. The deadpan made it difficult to tell if she really was. In fact, it seemed to negate it. "Thank you, Fortis Keri. You are generous with your comments. Tell me, what is your roll here in this city?"

Ione absorbed all the sights around her, studied thee change in scenery, the overall feel of the city as they went from the poorer parts of town to the better treated. "Law enforcement. Well, no wonder you came to my...rescue."

As they came to the capitol building, the grip on his arm tightened just a tad. "Of course." she said. "Wherever you'll take me, I'll go. I have no agenda. I doubt I've seen anything like it at all."

Strange that he would suddenly be showing her around the whole thing. She passed him a sideways glance. "The cells?" sh asked him. Was this how the men of this world acted? Showed off?

The cells...

She passed the other Rogues sharp looks. They were staring. They were perplexed. She did not show any sign of confusion or bewilderment. She just kept walking.

"Are these cells what I'm guessing they are?"

"They're for criminals, usually. Those waiting to be transported to the prison, suspected spies, those waiting for interrogfation or trial. We had to upgrade to make sure the more creative types can't get lucky." Fortis told Ione, "We have a reputation to uphold, it's tarnished if people can actually escape."

Fortis said, tapping a button that sent the elevator downwards. "I've heard there are some people who use the same model for more... deviant activities. The kind you try to keep curious young boys from finding." Fortis said, "Being curious young boys they'll find it anyways." He joked as the elevator doors opened to reveal a long corridor filled with prison cells.

Most of them simply had bars, likely for the less dangerous criminals. But, some seemed to be a thick layer of glass or something similar to keep prisoners from reaching out. The cells were barren, either it had been a slow period or the prisoners were shipped off to be someone else's problem.

"Come on." Fortis said, leading Ione out.

She studied the cells. Ah, yes, so they were for prisoners, as opposed to something obscure that she had no knowledge of. "Empty." she said, stating the obvious. "Your streets must be very clean at this time. How lucky." The statement had a hint of sarcasm.

"How far are we going?" she inquired.

"We're just going here." Fortis said, coming to a complete stop. The man turned towards Ione, attempting to shove her into an open cell. It wasn't immediately clear if Fortis was just messing with Ione, but it was clear he was trying to get her into that cell and he was very strong.

He was going to get her inside if he could help it.

Stuck behind one of the more higher security cells. Vega watched through the thick glass to see the place as empty as ever. The Rogues...they brought nothing but sickness in his stomach. Though he sat there silent, even contemplative. He did not fear were he may go, or what may happened to him. He simply sat there waiting, surveying the vicinity. Already he was calculating his escape routes, though it was more of a hobby than a plan. The only thing he could appreciate about the cells was the peace and quiet. Still Vega only wished to retrieve his gear, which was confiscated and being held in a room somewhere. He bracelets and his trans-dimensional sword.

Though the silence would be broken when the Agent, Keri, brought with him a stunning woman. He watched them entered from as best as he could as he watched them walk. He knows of Fortis Keri and only despised him. As for the woman he had no knowledge of her, but was revolted at her hanging on his arm. He dismissed them as soon as they walked past his cell. After he had finished analyzing them.

SRA launched SRA-I from its cloaking field, the great ship continued absorbing ships into its cloaking field. Any starship unlucky enough to get within its paremeter is isolated and cloaked, the crew never to be heard from again. During this SRA-I is launched in a pod to the planet surface. The SRA ship scrambles tracking across the city for the brief seconds it took the pod to reach the surface. In the street above the prison the cloaked pod slams into the ground, pluming a dust cloud two hundred feet upwards.

SRA-I powers on and climbs out from the wreckage before scanning the surrounding area for organic life.

Ione gave Vega a long stare as they passed him, exchanging his glare for her deadpan. "Where?" she asked Fortis Keri.

Right before being shoved into the cell.

She did not fall, but she stumbled, caught herself, and sprinted toward the door to try and get back out. "What are you doing?" she asked, eyes opening slightly wider in surprise, in...fright?

"Why?"

The door to the cell slid closed right in front of Ione, seperating her and Fortis from each other. "You really expect me to believe someone with your looks just showed up out of nowhere with the lesser folk, no wealth and, as you put it yourself, knowing thing that I do not?" Fortis asked Ione.

"I know what you are. I just need you to admit it." Fortis said to Ione, "The Rebels on the homeworld, Misrana, they sent you?"Foris asked, "Best you tell me now before you have to face the Triumvirate or someone less... understanding than I am about interrogations. Someone with more... extreme... methods." The man said.

"Your brand of terrorism will be wiped out eventually, you will not bring it to Hera in the meantime."

She put her hand flat to the glass, and finally, the emotionless mask broke. The corner of her lip tilted up in a smirk.

"Ah. So this is how you woo your girls. Charming." she sang. "But I'm afraid you've got the wrong girl. I'm not from any rebellion, though I am with an organization. I'm a Golden Tower Nymph. You might have heard of us." Her fingers curled onto the glass.

"I'm a courtesan. Not a spy. A servant. I was sent out here to find someone specific because I am a delivery."

"Please, don't let my youth mislead you. I'm experienced with spies, untilI have no doubts about you you will be here and you will be transported to Misrana. After interrogation, so it's best you hope only weeds grow from the doubt planted in my mind." Fortis told Ione, "I'm going to check around. See if your story adds up. I wouldn't be surprised. The nobles, the wealthy, are depraved."

Fortis turned from the cell to head back to the elevator, "Get to know your fellow prisoners, I'll return in a bit." Fortis said as he stepped into the elevator. It ascended back up to ground level, Fortis surprised by the sight of his fellow Rogues filing out into the street in great numbers.

The government agent followed the others, catching sight of SRA-I and several more police officers and soldiers piling in on the scene. "Orders, Quartermaster?" A Rogue asked Fortis, "Destroy it, of course. Throw it out as junk."
