Description

Image

Name: Iviri Tac Rixy

Age: Eleven, Probably. He does not know his age, since he was born and raised in a lab. Is the fifth youngest "brother".

Appearance: (See image)

Nicknames: Tac, Scardy Cat, Subject IX (Eight Clone)

History: Iviri was actually taken from an orphanage as a baby and utilized as a test subject to develop weapons using people with superpowers or other supernatural abilities as those weapons. And it was not just the painful bad kind, but the dark ones too. The experiments involved Iviri being opened up again and again, as one of the "Core Subjects" in their attempts to implant more powers and abilities into him. This hurt him extremely, but over time he got more powerful.

Originally, the scientists had taken Iviri because of his unique ability known as "Adaptability", which made him genetically able to accept and utilize all foreign tissue. However, he was not the only subject it turned out. One day, Subject XIII, the one who came after him, caused large scale destruction. This new power caused a huge amount of damage that let him escape, and caused the release of many other test subjects as well. What was surprising is that they all shared white hair and red eyes, and even their facial features were similar if not the same. Additionally, all had bar codes planted on them, mostly in the same place, under the left eye. Add then, they soon learned. Iviri, the youngest of them all and the one who released them all, was actually a clone using implanted memories from the first subject, and he was subject thirteen. The youngest of the clones. Iviri himself was the fifth youngest, Subject IX, and was under the same circumstances.

Outraged, the subjects wiped out the scientists, and then escaped into the world. They sort of keep in touch, but they often also lose track of each other. Supposedly, there is one brother however that is tracking all of them, because he was given a supernatural ability to do so.

Personality: Iviri is a bit odd, in that while all Rixy Brother's have hard to determine personalities, his might be even more erratic then all the others (including Ixian). Even though he tends to get scared easily, wants to run away from fights rather then actually fight, when he actually enters "Combat" mode he can behave...unusually sharp. Furthermore, his battle sense seems to always be active and is very high. However, otherwise he is a shy, timid boy who might just be odd. However, his tactical mind is astonishing for this personality...which gave him the nickname "Tac".

Supernatural Abilities:

Adaptability: Iviri's body is capable of utilizing and absorbing all foreign tissue without issue, regardless of the source. It may also hold other effects, but this was the main one utilized.

Superior Physical Specs: Nuff Said.

Lie Detector: Can sense when he is lied to. Cannot sense a lie when they don't know though. (Basically, when someone tells a lie but they themselves don't know its a lie and believes they are telling the truth)

Spirit Guardian: Replica: While it has a large combat form, it also has a small form that should not be underestimated. Replica can analyze and replicate an oppoenents powers, abilities, weaponry, and so forth using internal energy that is considered unknown, but may be called "Trion". It can also fire lasers, fly, hack into things, and has various abilities like radar and such. Replica can even duplicate himself.

Image

Trion Abilities: Iviri was given a ridiculously large amount of Trion Trigger Abilities...however, while all these abilities pull from a different energy pool as his Spirit Guardian, they all do come from the same energy pool. He might have many options, but that does not mean he is all powerful.

Trion Body: Can substitute his real body for a Trion Body, which means you have to take him out twice. But the Trion Body will be harder to defeat.

Shooter Cube: Summons a Cube of Trion, which can be used to fire Asteroid, Meteora, Viper, or Hound. Can also have combinations of the two, at the cost of more energy being used.

Gunner Pistols and Assault Rifle: Can summon these weapons at will to fire Trion bullets made of Asteroid, Meteora, Viper, or Hound.

Asteroid: Fires powerful shots at enemies, extremely powerful. Can break through barriers.

Meteora: Fires explosive shots, that deal large area damage. Can damage barriers.

Viper: Allows him to fire shots through pre-projected paths, letting them curve to however he set them.

Hound: Fires shots that track the targets, and chases after them. Vigorously.

Scorpion: A blade which can bend, and actually can come out of any part of his body. It is highly adaptable, but not good for blocking.

Shield: A shield he can deploy, although his only real defensive ability, it is sufficient at dealing with most things.

Ibis: The only sniper rifle he can summon, can fire explosive shots that break through barriers, armor, and pretty much anything.

Grasshopper: Lets him put a platform of energy in the air and boosts him in the direction he set.

Regenerative Aura: Lets him heal himself, and all those nearby.

So begins...

Quin was left in awe at what had just happened. His eyes were wide and he was moved to the point of crying. He was far more sensitive to vibrations and the emotions carried on them than the average person. The music was beautiful on so many levels that Quin couldn't help but weep at the beauty. He didn't care what anyone though of him for doing so. He was also enthralled by Iziti's cool abilities.

"That was... beautiful." Quin sniffled as he tried to regain his composure. "Yes I would love to see this in person, if everyone else wants to come too." He practically begged.

There was far more happening with Quin than one would be able to observe with standard perception.Quin didn't just want to see this music in person, he wanted to be a part of it, to help to create such beauty. But Quin was also enjoying the music on a physical level. Eurythmians have a unique ability to convert music into manna. It was a strange process that didn't create much manna, but depending on the complexity and the emotion carried by the piece of music, the potency of the manna could be quite high. The piece that he had just witnessed was enough to create the most potent manna he had ever felt. The trouble was that the manna created through this method had a byproduct that effected people like a euphoric drug if someone other than a Eurythmian were to tap into it and try to use it. Luckily for Quin, most people didn't have this talent. Quin, like most Eurythmians, had a naturally high tolerance to euphoric byproduct of the manna production, almost an immunity, but this piece was so nice it even had him feeling a little giddy and mellow.

"Alright then, if we are lucky it might happen again while we are there. Follow me".

"Oi oi, shouldn't I be the guide?"

"You want us to get lost?"

"...after you Iziti".

The group began to depart the dorms and head towards any one of the numerous plazas. However...

"Oh right...uhh, what does everyone want to eat for lunch? Pizza and Hamburgers? Pasta? Sushi? Roasted Flameboar? Is anyone a Vegetarian or have any allergies? That way I can find a place that will be good for everyone".

"I want Pizza!"

"I also want Pizza!"

Iviri and Zakar both announced they wanted Pizza in the same way. It seemed like they might have some common interests. Astrius Academy had a lot of student run shops in addition to the cafeterias, and there were even some professionally owned shops by corperations, chains, or literally family resteraunts and diners set up on campus to serve the overflowing student population. And because the student population was so diverse, it was impossible to go out of business pretty much if you set up shop in Astrius. So long as you could manage the potential risks of student experiments doing weird things.

So finding a place for all of them would be easy for Iziti, so long as he knew what everyone wanted to eat.

Quin was starting to get the munchies from the "music drug" as his people referred to it.

"I'm not sure what this pizza is, but I don't have any food allergies that I know of." Quin smiled. It seemed like everyone else wanted pizza and he was open to new experiences.

"Sure let's get pizza. If everyone else likes it, it must be good stuff."

He followed the others out to the shops and he was still excited about the huge musical group that he had seen.

"So do you think they're taking new people in the music group? " Quin asked to make small talk.

Primaris was perfectly content when Quins attention faded off of him again with an offhand comment, he hoped to himself that he had not done something to cause offence by recognising the gesture. As if anticipating just such a thing to happen he tried his best to fall to the back of the group where he could avoid causing any further trouble, it had been a while since he had drawn his masters ire and he was loath to feel the birch or worse once more. His neck still chaffed with the phantom memory of the iron collar around him.

It was until he picked his eyes up from the floor where they had been affixed did he realise that his surroundings had shifted. For a moment he felt his heart pang in hasty fear that he had once more been suddenly whisked away from where he had been before. But then he realised slowly that no, this was something altogether different. Instead of him actually being placed somewhere new, it was as though somewhere new had been brought to him, the world around him had changed but it felt... Off, old and stale as though this had all happened before.

Even before his eyes he saw as a band of mismatched figures began to play, he wasn't sure what made him feel most confused, the sight of the players or the sight of the instruments. All of which he saw before him in this strange vision was something beyond even his wildest imaginations, nothing he saw made a hint of sense to him and he was starting to realise that perhaps the world was far and away much bigger than Wolfsbane.

As he listened to the music however something in it felt... Discordant, like there was a sour note that persuaded its way throughout the tone of the song. He could feel the music, hear the tones which he knew in his heart should sound like glossimer and joy and yet something about them felt wrong. It was as though there was one player in the band was playing out of time with the others and trying to go unnoticed. Something about that one solitary off note that resounded through the rest of the music set the entire piece into chaos in his mind and he was perfectly glad that it ended when it did.

Oddly though, it seemed the others had found nothing but joy in the music, Quinn in particular finding so great as to go as far as openly weep at it. He felt a twinge in his throat at the thought of hearing the music again in person, though in this he kept his mouth firmly shut. He would go where he was commanded when he was bid. Either way, when the group made a move again he followed in tow, keeping a respectable distance to go unheeded.

His ears pricked once more at the mention of eating and of food as he followed silenty, though they were certainly speaking of foods he had never before heard of. There was a lurch in his stomach as they continued walking, he was all too aware of the fact he had voided the contents of his belly only a short while ago and was no doubt going to feel the effects of it all day. He only hoped that he was able to eat today though he doubted such a thing was likely unless he found somewhere he was able to scrounge up some scraps. Though he supposed there was likely already a system in place for the other indentured serfs, he wouldn't be surprised if he and any other newcomers would find themselves going hungry for a few days until their betters deemed them worthy of the privilege of eating.

As the group hit the roads and paths of the Academy, a large spaceship could be seen flying overhead. This was not any particular concern, as many did that, but one might notice odd symbols on the side...it was certainly mysterious and eye catching, but it flew out of sight as quickly as it entered, and so was just a passing moment.

Eventually, Iziti's group found their way to Runara Square. In the background, a few students were studying by a fountain, while others seemed to be focused on practicing the Summon Familiar spell. Others were talking while eating, and a few more seemed to be looking sad while carrying large cases that looked to be the type that carry musical instruments.

There was also a group that seemed to be looking around and plotting something, but the one that drew Iziti's eye was a pizza place that had nice outdoor tables that could also seat the five of them. And two people that seemed to be harassing a young girl that worked the place. It was sort of like the counter to a shop, but all the tables were located outside. However, some sort of forcefield like thing could be faintly seen covering the area, designed specifically to protect against weather.

"Ah! There! All five of us can sit there! It will be far easier to just get one table for all of us anyways...and the protection seems quite nice anyways".

Suddenly, Iziti utilized two of his powers, his right eye turning purple while the left one turning...blue...and all of a suddenly, instead of harassing the girl, those two started attacking each other, their scuffle oddly enough causing them both to move away from the pizza place and eventually down an alley out of sight.

Iziti then walked up to the counter.

"Can we get three large pizzas please? With peperoni and sausage".

The girl nodded, as she seemed to notice that Iziti was responsible for getting those two away.

"And extra cheese!"

"With at least part of one of the pizzas with extra pepperoni as well!"

Iziti then looked back at the others...but then saw the strangest thing of wild Cyborg Dragons flying about, as if they got separated and cut off from whoever owned and built them. Well, they were behaving now it seemed, so Iziti paid them no mind and looked at the others.

"You probably shouldn't pay it too much mind. Based on the girl's age and how she reacted, I suspect she is a Freshman and that was just two idiots doing some freshman pranking. Still, this means we found a great place. I mean, she is new here and yet she has a shop already? Must be a cooking major or something, so we should be in for a treat".

As they all went through the campus to Runara Square, Quin noticed the ship pass overhead too. He thought it was odd that the ship had the symbols on the outside like that, even if he didn't understand what they were. Most of the ships on his planet were unmarked on the outside even for identification purposes. But after it passed by, though, he didn't think much more of it.

Quin observed the way Iziti's eyes as he used his powers. He wasn't sure if anyone, other than his brother, knew that he was using them at the moment, he didn't even realize what Iziti was doing until the two guys began to fight each other.

"That's a cool power." Quin muttered in awe. Though he still didn't think the two boys had gotten quite what they deserved yet. When he thought the others weren't looking, he held out his hand and sent out a small vibrational blast at the two boys. All that could be heard was a low pitched hum as the wave hit them. When it hit, the two boys froze instantly, got a worried look on their faces and then ran off holding their stomachs. Quin grinned as he sat down.

Iziti's logic about the pizza place seemed sound. Quin still wasn't sure what any of the food was that they were talking about, but from what he saw of the other people nearby eating, it looked and smelled mouth watering. He was momentarily distracted by the cyber dragons running lose, but he was sure that he could handle himself if they attacked and he knew for a fact that Irivi could. He sat down with the others as they waited for the food to come out, well, almost all of them. Quin saw that Primaris was not sitting down and seemed to be stand-offish.

"Hey, what are you doing over there? There's a seat here next to me, I won't bite."

Primaris followed behind the main bulk of the group, his head was cast downwards as he tried to keep his eyes on the heels of the person in front of him. It was a skill he hadn't had to work particularly hard to learn, following behind like a silent automaton, hands folded before him, silent until called upon and for all intents and purposes simply not there. He didn't even listen to the conversation, to eavesdrop would be an intrusion of his position, instead he only strained his ears to hear if he was needed.

A noise above them that sounded as though the entire sky was about to cave inwards on top of them that was enough for his heavy eyes to glance upwards. His breath was instantly driven from his body at the sight of some thing that hovered in the air above them, the source of the noise it seemed as it gazed down upon them like the eye of some spiteful god. He found, despite the sheer impossibility of it that he in some way seemed to understand what this.... Thing was, despite have never having seen anything anything close to this wonder he knew that there were more beings like this.

His eyes followed, wide in amazement at the sight of it, as the metal monster sped away from them across the open sky. Just watching it move filled him with a sense of wonder that he didn't even knew he had lurking away in his heart and he was struck for a moment that he would very much like to see one of these strange beings up close. He wondered if it was aware of the world below it like some great bird that ruled the skies or that it was simply bound to its lofty realm, never to know the touch of the hard and unforgiving ground.

As the flying wonder departed from his vision, with no small disappointment on his behalf he once resumed his position of the silent serf. His eyes were once more averted from the world around him, it was his place after all to go unnoticed until called upon. It was hardly surprising then that when the smell of food suddenly swirled around him it hit him like something of a wall. He hadn't been expecting it even in the slightest and now it was there it was all he could think about. There was the smell of rich and warm bread that he was so used to smelling, but filled underneath there were other scents, the smell of cooking meat and rich and potent spices that assailed his nose with a sweetness he had never known before. Now so surrounded by such wonderful smells his stomach gave a hearty growl at its indignation that so many should deserve to eat whilst he should starve for his position.

"Hey, what are you doing over there? There's a seat here next to me, I won't bite." He had been so consumed by the smells around him that he hadn't noticed that the others in the group had already sat down whilst he stood a handful of paces away, head downcast and hands folded in front of him. At least even when distracted by dreams of whatever was causing such sweet smells he hadn't forgotten his place.
"Ah... Thank you, but it is not my place to sit at the table of my betters sir. I am here at the pleasure of the Magos." He gestured reverently towards Iziti, obviously it made sense that he must be the lord and ruler of this place, he had seen firsthand the sheer scope of his power. The Alovai had ruled long before Primaris had been born that those born with powers were charged with the duty of dominion and strength, the strong ruled until the strong removed them. The weak served at their masters pleasure.

(Tell leaves to stop falling and family to stop eating time plz. Anyways, it's a bit short and delayed. Sorry. Also had to type this from my phone)

As he began to eat, Iziti noticed the odd actions of Primaris. Well, he had known for awhile, but he didn't have any idea of what to do about this situation so he was unsure of how to respond to this.

"You will not be able to eat properly if you stand. Besides, one should always sit and rest when they can. You never know when it will be taken away".

Iziti had lived most of his life in a cell, without things like clothing, chairs, or decent human interaction. So the chance to sit down at a table, wear clothes, eat what he wanted were all things he didn't want to take for granted. All the siblings knew this, and they all felt similarly.

Without realizing it though, his tone and facial expressions gave away his own thoughts. Which was unusual since he was good at staying composed.

"Besides...I prefer to have friends that sit with us. After all, I spent a majority of my time locked in a cell with people who acted like I was nothing but a lab rat and they were my masters. Same with Iviri. What we want now is friends, not those hierarchy relationships we grew to have disdain over..."

"Yeah..."

"I totally agree!"

Breaking the gloomy mood that began to set in, Zakar came up from behind and wrapped his arms around Iziti and Iviri's necks while smiling.

"As a prince, I can get any number of servants easily! But what I really want is to build relationships and make true friends, not people who act nice to me for my position!"

Quin took a piece of the pizza and observed the way the others were going about eating it. He looked at the slice as it hung limp in his hand and he propped it up using his fingers trying to keep the toppings from sliding off the crust. He took a bite, but the cheese was still hot and stringy so he had a long strand of cheese from the pizza to his mouth. The toppings were still really hot and he burnt the roof of his mouth and he started sucking in air to cool it making slurping noises. He was finally able to pull the cheese away enough for the strand to break and he set the slice down.

Quin nodded in agreement as he listened to the others speak about how Primaris was an equal.

"Look, man, I don't know the situation you came from, or the reason you're here, but I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty; I am not your better. I don't care if I'm a prince, if I can use magic and you can't, or anything else that those of lesser minds use to measure a person's worth. You are an equal, a peer and I hope a friend. There is nothing about you that makes you less than me or anyone else." Quin spoke in a soft and endearing tone.

He hoped that between the four of them they had managed to get their point across. Quin smiled up at Primaris and patted the spot next to him in a motion to get him to sit down.

"C'mon, this stuff is really good if you can figure out how to eat it."

Suddenly, as Theirri was looking around for that mark he could get to take his bet, two figures emerged from the entrance located a bit behind his seat. A white haired boy with ruby eyes walked forward in a bit of a gloom. His body looked small and thin, though if one was to examine his facial features they might realize he was older then his height would imply. It looked like he had been under tough times just lately.

"Move it brat".

Behind him was an older man. He was much bigger then the boy, and was extremely muscular. And anyone with a keen eye could tell those were not for show. He was bossing the boy around even, and looked full of himself.

"Why...why can't you just..."

"Stop complaining boy. This is just how life works. And remember, if you win this bet you can pay me off and be on your way...but if you lose, you are mine. Forever".

Iviri was the name of the boy that was being victimized right now. He was just heading to his latest home and dodging security cameras, when for some reason this man came out of nowhere with his car. And it was right at a time when Iviri was about to cross the street. Iviri barely tapped it, yet suddenly now there was some huge scratch mark left there and he was trying to force Iviri to pay it.

If Iviri was a normal boy he would just go to the police, but this man seemed to realize Iviri was avoiding attention. Which is why he made Iviri, pretty much forcing him, to agree to the deal of paying this man off by winning at gambling, or becoming his Life Servant...basically a slave, in exchange for him not reporting this to the police along with Iviri's face. And notably, there is a Barcode right there under Iviri's left eye that if scanned would expose his secrets and cause all sorts of bad people who are after him to know where he is.

But the man seemed to have an evil glint in his eyes when Iviri was not looking. "...that is, if you can win at all..."

And Iviri, who analyzed the two opponents immediately knew who to bet on.

"The warrior Higim will win".

He said that calmly and proudly, with no doubt in his voice. He took out a device and submitted his bet, suddenly the timidness was gone as if a switch was flipped and he seemed cool and certain.

In stark contrast to the rest of the crowd, Thierri sat in silence as he watched Higim and the reptilian-esque creature duke it out in the center of the arena. The creature lowered its head toward the ground, its large, spike laden shoulders jutting upward as it prepared to charge. The gray-skinned warrior gritted his teeth as the cocktail of anger and adrenaline brewed in his gut. He leaned forward with a chilling battle cry that was even louder than the collective shouts and cheers of the spectators around him. The beast charged. Just when it seemed like the burly duergar was going to be trampled and mauled by it, he vanished from sight! The coliseum fell mostly silent at this point as everyone watched with suspensful glares. The creature skidded to a halt. It turned, trying to get a sense of where Higim had disappeared to so it could have another go at ripping him to shreds. And then, everyone heard it. A sickening crunch echoed throughout the arena just after Higim reappeared with his hammer in mid-swing.

The reinforced Dwarven steel slammed against the creature's left front leg, hitting the main joint at an angle that forced it into an unnatural shape. It was broken. And with a snarl provoked by the sudden pain shooting into its injured leg, the beast lunged forward to take a bite out of Higim's shoulder. Although the man was old, his reflexes were sharp thanks to years of martial training. He peddled backward, nearly losing his footing in the process, and swung his hammer sideways to land another blow on the monster's jaw. It reeled backward in pain again. That would make it think twice before attacking so recklessly again.

Higim's face wrinkled with malice as he stared the creature down. "Come on then! Is that all you've got?!" he shouted, trails of froth trickling from the corners of his mouth and onto his beard.

Meanwhile, Thierri finished his snack and decided he'd need a goblet of ale to help wash it all down, so he rose from his sit and headed to the nearest concession area. While on the way, he fetched his favorite pipe from his coat pocket and plopped it into his mouth. It was made of oak, and already packed with some of the finest smoke he had: Eichridel -- ground leaves of the Eichridel plant. He lit the plant matter within the pipe by snapping his finger near the chamber. While he was doing this, he didn't notice the silver-haired boy and the larger man standing behind him, the latter of whom he walked straight into after he lowered the pipe from his mouth.

"Jesus. Who put this wall here?" he muttered to himself as he stumbled backward. "Pick a better place to stand next time, big fella." said Thierri.

As the battle went forward, the man who stood menacingly behind Iviri was only wondering just how much money he could get from the boy. His eye, actually a cybernetic replacement he ordered from a specialist offworld, was already aware just who Iviri was. Actually, the Barcode imprinted on his face was quite easy to read. Supposedly all someone needed to do was scan it, but not only could someone take a picture of his face for it to bring up all the data on Iviri, the camera itself could just hover over it to get the data.

It seemed like there was some limitation, a simple security camera itself would not be able to pull the data up. But anything that had a camera and computers directly attached, with wireless uplink? That could get all the data they wanted on Iviri. There were medical records, photos and videos of his body and the experiments done to it. His powers and abilities. All were so easily listed.

That was how he knew he could really get a ton of money for this kid. And he had yet to lie to him in truth. But he was seriously twisting his words to avoid the discover that he had already gotten people in position to make sure this was a losing bet, even if that warrior had to die to do so. Yes, this was all a big bloody con so he could get his hands on a prize that was had worth in the billions.

He was fully prepared for Iviri to become his.

And then, some...twerp...ends up running into him, and breaking his line of thought and the fun thoughts going through his imagination.

"Oi, brat! If you are done watching your losing fight by now, how about you be a good boy and tell this man to shove off?"

However, when he looked up the warrior was still standing bravely and proudly.

"I have not lost the bet yet. Hey, mister? Care to make a bet with me?"

Althought it sounded like a normal, innocent boy's voice at first, if one had seriously significant experience they might sense something laying underneath. There was rage, but that was not all. If one had to give it a word, perhaps it would be venomous.

"I bet one hundred bucks that the man who is being rude to you right now passes out from fear before the next fight starts".

There was an innocent smile on his face, but unfortunately for that man he had no idea about Iviri's personality or tactical mind. Or that the moment Iviri realized this was a far more complex extortion then he realized, his switch got flipped. The Iviri in front of them right now might look like an innocent, weak white haired ruby eyed boy, but he was like a viper that already had it's prey.

Losing fight? What battle is he watching? Thierri thought to himself as he dusted himself off. He popped the pipe back into his mouth to take a few puffs. As small plumes of smoke drifted upward from the pipe's chamber and coalesced with a larger pall exhaled from his nose, an acrid scent likely crept into the noses of the man and younger child ahead of him. Thierri gave the duo one long look as he puffed away. The judgmental expression on his face was hard to miss.

"This your kid? This isn't the appropriate setting for a child, you know." He didn't actually care about this kind of thing, of course. It was simply an attempt to get under the man's skin - to see how he'd react. "And another thing: what kind of self-respecting man asks a child to speak for him? Seems rather craven, don't you think?"

He took another drag and blew the smoke right into the man's face. Then, he affixed his gaze to the boy who approached him with a wager. There was something odd about him but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"And what do you know about making bets, little one?"

It was quite the odd wager, especially because it seemed completely out of the blue. The man appeared to be in pristine health. No one would make that bet unless they knew something that the other party didn't. That's exactly what he would do. This was a con.

"I'm going to have to pass on that one. Although if the big guy here wants to make a bet on the battle below, I'd be more than happy to start a pot."

He glanced to the hulking man again with a sly grin on his face. All the while, his tail licked aimlessly behind him as he conversed with them. Thierri made sure to remain perceptive to any details about the two of them that could prove useful in the near future. He was quite good at picking up on small details and using them to his advantage and he intended to do the same thing here if he could.

"Since he wont admit it, allow me to let you in on his plan" Iviri told him directly, calmly and childishly...but the way he spoke, even if it sounded childish, felt like there was some malice to it. "This man you see, on purposely set something up to try and frame me for something, and then forced me into this to pay my debt one way or another, threatening to call some reeaaallllyy bad people if I didn't comply...though it seems like there seems to be an issue with cell service right now, he actually set this whole thing up as a con".

The man's face contorted as Iviri spoke. Although it seemed like one act was gone, no longer acting timid or weak, a new act was in place...explaining just enough to make the man hang, but holding back just enough to make it difficult to flip the conversation back on him. Making sure no matter what, no blame would go on him and would only go on the man who threatened Iviri.

"Yeah....he thinks he is so clever. I bet he doesn't have faith in anything, just cowardly making me take all the bets because he is too afraid to make one himself. That he has no confidence in his own plans".

"Fu...fuck you, you brat! Fine! I will bet one thousand the warrior dies then, so that when I win you shut up!"

Iviri didn't bother to correct him on the fact that regardless of bets, it would not change the final outcome. Well, cheating might. It seemed like this man intended to have Iviri choose, and then have his accomplices do something in secret to alter the outcome. But, this guy even knowing Iviri's abilities had failed to account for a possibility.

"Replica?"

"Cheaters neutralized. Victory guaranteed. I confirmed your analysis. That big monster...it is not good enough to defeat the warrior".

Iviri intended to terrorize this man further. If it was just him that he was targeting, Iviri might not have gotten this bothered over a con and just walked away. But, the man had intended to harm others just to get his way.

That was what caused Iviri's switch to flip despite it being outside of combat. Simply put, Iviri was pissed that this man had involved unrelated people in this.

So yeah, he was willing to help this stranger win some bets if it meant destroying this man even further.

Thierri was surprised by the sudden confidence with which Iviri spoke. He had seemed somewhat timid and non-confrontational at first but now his tone seemed somewhat scathing. The sudden change was a little odd to him; however, Thierri listened intently as the boy gave his explanation. It appeared that this whole thing was a con indeed; however, it turned out to be a bigger deal than he thought. He figured this was just some basic ploy to score a sack of gold or two. While listening to Iviri's explanation, Thierri gave the man a condescending glare as if to say, "Nice try."

"Well I admire a good con, so I have to commend you on your effort. Next time, take care to choose a better mark."

He took another hit of his pipe and waited for the man to say something. He looked pissed and embarrassed, for good reason. When the man announced his bet, Thierri's eyes widened and an even bigger grin than his previous one appeared on his face. "Now we're talking. Things are about to get interesting." Thierri answered with a gleeful element to his voice, "I meet your one thousand gold and offer another side wager: Fifteen-hundred gold coins says the Duergar will rip that ugly creature in two to finish the fight."

To ensure that the man knew he was serious, Thierri fetched a large leather sack from his pouch. Both Iviri and the man could tell that the sack looked heavy.

"Come on. You're good for it, right?"

Meanwhile, the cheers of the crowd swelled for a moment as a scuffle broke out somewhere behind them. Two men, one quite larger than the other, stood facing each other in the middle of the stone aisle beneath the spectators' feet. They exchanged a few harsh words before eventually coming to blows. This created mixed reactions in the people around them. Some happily welcomed the unexpected bout, eager to get even more than what their money guaranteed. Others were not so happy. However, they all took a few steps backward to give the men some space as they duked it out.

"You two! Break it up immediately!" shouted one of the arena guards as they rushed over to apprehend the two drunken brawlers. The men seemed wholly indifferent to their commands.

Thierri watched them fight, chuckling to himself. "Leave it to fresh booze and the electrifying atmosphere of a sanctioned fight to addle one's mind."

The guards, sporting staffs with metallic prongs fastened to their ends, subdued the two men with several electric shocks that forced the men into mouth gurgling, muscle seizing submission.

Stopping off on this planet had seemed like a good idea at the time, it put a bit of distance between her and the last port of call. Especially after that more recent run in with the Aschen and their privateers. "Specter.." Rei said quietly addressing the AI on her ship that currently sat up in orbit around Origin. "Yes mistress?" The AI replied, almost instantaneously. A small microphone hidden in the coms link worn over the woman's right ear had picked it up and transmitted them back to the ship where the alpha-level sim sat waiting. "Tell me again what the odds on this fight were." She replied before taking a swig of ale from her mug. "One moment, calculating." Specter replied cheerily.

Looking at the pale liquid, Rei considered it for a moment while she waited. It wasn't the tastiest thing ever, but it was wet and it was alcoholic. "Odds are currently 9 to 1, with a 90% plus chance of the humanoid winning, with a confidence of 100%." Specter informed Rei, who considered what the AI had just said. The betting odds were pretty good it seemed, but the goods didn't seem to be worth it to her. "Pass. Find me something better." She commented as she watched the fist fight not far below. 'There's probably something here that the arena doesn't take a cut in. Just where is the question...' Rei thought to herself making note that guards should be avoided at all costs. She wasn't so sure she was ready to be turned into writhing, squealing and gurgling mass.

However dangerous risking the ire of the guards may be, she'd become bored. Especially as the lack of cargo and clients, along with her funds dwindled. Rei had figured that it'd be easy enough to make some quick cash at the arena, at least enough to pay her dock fees. But as fight after fight drew on, she found herself loosing interest and considering other avenues. Sighing, she began to think that she may well and truly be stuck there on Origin for some time to come.

As the event carried on, several guards made their rounds patrolling the arena. This way they could keep an eye out for people trying to cheat or start fights, as the two drunken men had done moments earlier. As for the former, the guards couldn't simply rely on their eyes and ears to get the job done, though. They carried with them small rectangular devices that allowed them to scan for not only the use of magic, but for sophisticated technology as well. It just so happened that as a guard passed by Rei's general location, her device picked something up.

"That's strange." she muttered to herself, tapping the screen a few times to make sure the thing was reading right. No change. She fiddled with the device for a few seconds to find the location from whence the signal came. Then, she locked her gaze on Rei.

"Hey you." She spoke loud enough for her voice to be heard over the clamor of their surroundings. "Let me have a word with you."

Although it was a request, it sounded more like a demand.

"Eh?" Rei said, slightly confused and surprised at the same time. "Uh.. no.. speking comon.." She said hoping that playing stupid and confused would reduce whatever trouble had found her this time. 'Time to cut our losses buddy..' Rei added sub-vocally to her AI. It seemed that the guards intended to at least inconvenience her, if not make her time there on Origin a bit worse than it already was.

"No understand." This was going to get ridiculous fast, and Rei really wished she was somewhere else. But the funds and availability to get out of the system was difficult to say the least. Now she was just going to have to talk fast, play stupid, and hope that the guards decided she wasn't worth dealing with.

"Damn you! YOu...you all are in it together! Looking down on me! Of course I will take that bet!"

Iviri shrugged. This man had already lost. However...

"Then excuse me!"

Iviri collected all the winnings, and then looked back at the fight. Then he looked back at Thierri.

"Should I just give you this now? I mean, its obvious who is going to win. I was pissed at this guy, but...well, he is already past the threshold of sanity. I can't really do anything else to him without getting arrested I think".

Then, he noticed the commotion with the guards. He also saw the scanners, cursed a bit, and covered his own mark on his cheek with his hand. It occurred to him Thierri might have seen it also, but unless he had a scanner it would not detect the data that would come up. If the guards scanned him and got that data...it might alert anyone hunting him to where he was, and he could not afford that.

He looked back to the fight, hoping to be done with this man...maybe, just maybe, since he helped Thierri make all that money he could stick around him for a bit and hope to avoid the guards that way, since it would be extremely hard on him if he had to deal with the guards.

"So, mister. You come here often? Is this the typical fight, or...is there usually closer of odds?"

The guard looked at Rei with a quizzical expression at first when she began to speak. It initially seemed as if her attempt to feign confusion was going to work, but in any hopes of that vanished when the guard stepped forward to grab her arm. "Nice try. You're coming with me." she said sharply. It didn't take long for one of the other guards near by to notice this. The armored man began to approach from Rei's right. If she succeeded it grabbing Rei's arm, would attempt to pull her with the aid of the second guard through the crowd and toward a locked door on the wall nearest to them -- on their right. One couldn't be sure what exactly waited for them beyond that large wooden door with iron locks, but one thing was certain: it probably wasn't good.

"I'm sure we don't have to tell you, but using computers to calculate odds for fights in The Pit is illegal." the woman said as she looked back at Rei, the features of her cinnamon-brown face shaped into a cross expression.

Elsewhere

Thierri took one final hit of his pipe as he watched the man practically break down in front of him. It always amused him to see the strong, burly types lose their wits when things quickly spiralled out of their control. "Oh no. What happened to all that bravado you had a few minutes ago?" He gave a mocking pout. Then, he lifted the pipe to his mouth and extinguished it by dipping his tongue into the chamber. He paused for a moment and closed his eyes, visibly shuttering as his forked tongue soaked up the superheated ash. Then, he tucked the little object away.

True to his words, another eruption of cheers from the people around them signified that one of the combatants below had fallen. When they turned to see who it was, they saw the aged Higim the Braveless standing over the bisected corpse of the creature he had been fighting. It was a bloody mess; bone and steaming entrails lay scattered the man's feet as he beat his chest and bellowed once again, loud enough for everyone to hear. Thierri looked back to Iviri and the large man with a smug grin on his face.

"Seems like that's for the best, kid. Better to leave him to be tortured by whatever's running through his head right now." Thierri reached out to pluck the additional sacks of gold from the boy's hand, which he tucked away for safe keeping.

It didn't take him long to pick up on what was going on with the guards and some woman a few dozen feet to their left. Looks like it's going to be a busy night for them. And for me as well. Thierri also noticed Iviri's reaction to seeing the guards but he said nothing of it. "Hold that thought, kid. Business awaits." He winked at him before strutting over to intercept the guards wherever he could.

"Woah now." he said as he stepped forward, "What's going on here?" He raised his hands in a non-confrontational manner to show the guards that he meant no harm.

"None of your business, freak. Now move aside before we arrest you, too." said the male.

Thierri's eye twitched for a moment. A faint glow came from a small rectangular object wrapped in leather on his hip. It was subtle, but noticeable if someone was paying attention enough. Then, it faded. He had almost forgotten his current predicament because of the guard's insult. Not only was he living in a city wherein magically was heavily restricted, but he was a tiefling as well. Assaulting a couple of guards for running their mouths likely wouldn't work in his favor and he didn't want to skip towns again.

"I'm going to ignore that. Look. We're all having a good time here. Why ruin a good night by hassling yourself with filling out all the paperwork involved with arresting this one? Save yourself the trouble." Thierri managed to slip one of the guards a few pieces of gold without anyone looking to sweeten the deal. They looked at each other as they thought it over. They looked to Rei, mentioned something about not showing her face at the Arena again, and then walked away.

Thierri waited a while until the guards were out of audible range, then he addressed the woman who had nearly been arrested. "You owe me, you know." He looked back to Iviri and gestured for him to come over, assuming the man who had accompanied him didn't try to stop him or something.
