Personality

Jack doesn't like to see people suffer, but as the years passed he's come to understand that people will always die, no matter what he does. This had given him a rather cold look on the world. He enjoys playing chess and strategic games as well as reading books. He likes to be alone and ponder over questions, he’s often teased that he acts like an old man at times.

Jack likes music and his favourite intrument is the piano, he's composed many songs, but never given them any names. His favourite musicians are Mozart, Beethoven and Elvis Presley. Jack is also very analyzing and often finds himself thinking way too much on simple matters, which again tends to make his mind drift away from the situation at hand. He tends to keep a cool head in any sort of situation, which is why he's still alive.

History

Jack is the son of Jonathan Krutz and Helen Smith. His father is a German colonel while his mother is a British politician. Jack was never close with his mother and knows very little of her, he has a locket with the three of them in his possession. His father didn’t want Jack to be corrupted by the weak opinions of women. So he took custody of Jack and they moved away from Great Britain. Jack was then raised as a soldier, all his childhood memories are from military bases and training, the endless training. Jack was treated like any other soldier at a young age and was one of the ‘grunts’ at the age of ten. Jonathan didn’t treat Jack like a son, he was simply one of his subordinates. He wanted Jack to grow up strong and was very strict. Jack’s friends became his family, as they would take care of him and teach him all they could, from poker to arm-wrestling techniques.

As Jack turned 16 he actually got a party, he was now officially allowed to join the ranks of the military. Jonathan was the one who personally tattooed him with the mark of the force, which was the first time Jack had seen Jonathan show he was proud. The relationship between Jack and his father improved, Jonathan would spend a lot of time on Jack. Beating into him every little ounce of knowledge he had. It was his way of showing love.

At the age of 17, Jack joined the sniper platoon and completed the one year long training. It was hell, good snipers were rare and thus the training was brutal. Jack seemed talented in sniping and prided himself in his accuracy. Jonathan had remarked it was maybe one of the traits given to him by his grandfather. Helen’s father was an outstanding SAS sniper, Jack then joined the green berets and spent two years there training. He was then selected to become part of a special force, a secret force. Jonathan had of course put in a good word just to make sure Jack would be able to enter, but he had gotten in on his skills. Not much is known about the years he spent in that special training program, but when Jack met his father again, he had become a general as Jack had become a commander. Jack was then redeemed ready to go on missions, which included going under the radar. Black ops missions, often assassinations and controlled terrorism. Jack and his team were responsible for the revolution in Africa, where a dictator was overthrown.

As Jack turned 24, he was chosen with his team along many others to go on the space program. He was sent out into space to investigate and explore other planets. To get to those planets, Jack was placed in cryosleep, since the travel time to the planets were so long. In reality Jack is far older than what he looks like, but his body is still young. Jack nearly lost his life on one of the planets, the inhabitance clearly didn’t like being explored. Highly aggressive aliens whom you only saw in movies nearly eradicated the entire expedition.

As Jack returned to earth, he was quickly thrown back into the wars, it was here that the incident happened. Jack was ordered along with his team to destroy a village and kill everyone in it. Jack protested and refused, which caused him to be relieved of his command and placed in custody. He was court martialed and disowned.

Jack didn’t know where to go or what do to now, his entire life had been in the military. To him was only logical to turn into a mercenary. Jack’s father had actually been the one who had helped him, he wasn’t disappointed in his son. To be a soldier was one thing, but the moment you blindly followed orders and killed innocent people, people who couldn’t defend themselves. That was when you went from a soldier to a plain mass murderer. Jack continued making a living as a mercenary, one who was in fact hired by the same army he had been disowned from. He then quit being a mercenary and decided to become a hitman, that way he would have some sort of control of his own actions.

It didn’t take long before Jack was approached by his father to join a special force, an independent platoon which only answered to him. Jack was torn at this point, he didn’t know what to do, but he was in need of money and decided to join. Which was where Jack’s life changed drastically…

So begins...

Jack Krutz looks around and coughs as he brushes his clothes, he drags his right hand through his hair and is clearly confused. He checks his equipment, he only has his knife. He wasn't even dressed in his military outfit. He only wore loose gray pants, a white t-shirt and his favourite black jacket. He turned towards a man who looked to be in his swindling years. "Hey, what's going on here?" he asks in a curious voice. He did notice several others, but for now he would focus on the elder man. "My name is Jack" he says trying to show he wasn't hostile.

Jack Krutz narrows his eyes at the older man's actions as he reaches inside his jacket and grasps the handle of his knife. He could tell the man was as confused as he was. "Fair enough, may I know your name?" Jack asks as he takes a step back. His fingers felt tingling, his sense of balance was also a bit off. "What happened? I was walking down a side alley and some sort of light occured, then I ended up here" Jack thought to himself.

A woman spoke up and attracted Jack's attention, he turned to look at her with sharp eyes. "This woman brought me here? How?" he thought to himself. His mind was racing with questions, but he wasn't about to indulge the woman by doing what she asked.

Jack Krutz saw a man running, he himself wanted to get away, but running around aimlessly would be stupid, he had no idea where he was. It would seem the woman who had just gotten something to drink knew what was going on. He walked casually over to a wall and rested against it. He would bid his time and learn what he could.

This was clearly something supernatural of some sort, which Jack had little to none experience with and he was only armed with a knife. This was a bad situation for him, but he would still act calm and analyze the situation. This was not the time to panic, he waited patiently for the woman or someone else to talk.

Jack Krutz glares at the woman who had summoned them, something was strange about all of this, she was hesitating. She might be lying, withholding information or even both. He didn’t trust her, he didn’t have any desire to claim these stones either. Impenetrable? Sounded fishy to him, if those stones were so powerful, why hadn’t the woman tried to get them? Would they face other groups who also wanted the stones? Jack hated missions like this, it was lacking in information and these people, he didn’t know any of them.

“Tsch…I don’t like this…” Jack thought to himself as crossed his hands over his chest, he glared at the different people. They weren’t like him, that was for sure, one was wearing an armor, another one had a tail.

“This sounds great and all, but if something is impenetrable, how can we get those stones?” he asked in a monotone voice. “Also, what kind of resistance are we going to face?”

Jack Krutz closes his eyes and sighs. “My name is Jack, I can only speak for myself, but this seems a bit like a fantasy book. Seeing as I am stuck here for the time being I guess I have to help out, or is there a way for me to return home, right now?” he asked curiously.

Jack Krutz didn’t have any interest in wealth, he had long since given up on such things, he wasn’t too interested in wielding powerful weapons either. This sounded too good to be true, which annoyed him slightly. He glared at the woman with an emotionless face.

“I will stay, but you didn’t answer me, what kind of resistance are we going to meet?” he asked again.

Jack Krutz grabs the pouch and looks into it, he takes out a coin and studies it for a moment before he walks over to Bolga. He looked up at her and found himself wondering if he made the right choice, if he was going to face people like this, he would most certainly die. He paid the orc woman and got a room key, he then walked up to his room, he wanted to talk to the people and figure out their abilities, but right now he was too tired. He walked up and into his room without a word.

Jack Krutz removed his jacket and placed it on the single chair which was in the room, he unfastened the large knife from his side, it was usually placed on his leg, but he had it on his side now. He put the knife under the pillow and removed his boots, he then lay down and stared at the roof. This was going to be tough, but he liked a challenge, just not if it meant him dying. He sighed through his nose slowly and closed his eyes slowly, he was still suspicious to all of this.

Jack Krutz notices the man coming in, he studies him closely, the way he walked and the way he carried himself told Jack he was cautious. Seeing as he was bored and had nothing to do, he decided to walk over to him and sit down with him. He ordered a glass of water as he didn't feel like drinking anything right now. "Yo, haven't seen you here before" he pointed out trying to start a conversation.

Jack Krutz chuckles as he turns to look forward. "Not the talkative type, are you? Well that's fine" Jack says as he grabs the top of his glass. He gazed out into nothingness as he put the glass down without taking a sip. "The name's Jack" he said just to be polite.

"I see, well that's too bad seeing as there are no women in here, besides...the women who do show up here are often freaks" Jack stated with a grin, he had seen some of them before, vampires, witches and the likes. It scared it sometimes to know such beings existed in this world. "It's rare to actually meet a human in this bar" he said hoping to drag some information out of the man.

Jack Krutz could feel the man getting annoyed and decided to let him be. "I think I recognize you now, you're one of those elite soldiers I met at one time. You nearly killed me that time, but what I don't get is how you survived that one shot I fired into your chest. I am sure I hit you" he stated as he kept a sharp glance at the man. "Or am I mistaken?"

Jack Krutz reveals a face of shock at the newcomer and jumps over the bar counter taking cover, he pulls his sidearm and peek up over the counter. "Who the hell are you?!" he demands while looking at the man. He takes a look at the weapon and groans in his head at the shotgun. "Damn...getting close to him with that will be hard, but he can only fire twice before he has to reload, that will be my chance" he concluded in his mind as he crawled out from the bar keeping the bar between them. "And I just wanted to relax..." Jack sighed to himself.

Jack looks at the man and shakes his head in disbelief. "You gotta be shitting me..." he thought as he gets up to one leg and leans over the counter and aims at the hunter. "Drop your shotgun or I will fire" he warns as he notices that the man he was talking to is long gone. "Damn...he escaped, well...I'll get him later" he thought to himself as he returned his focus onto the clearly drunk hunter. "I will not ask again!"

Jack Krutz hides behind the counter as the crazy hunter starts firing. "The hell? How can that thing fire more than two rounds?" he thought to himself as he inhaled deeply and exhaled, he calmed down. "This is ridiculous, he must be some sort of supernatural freak" he concluded. "Which means he has the advantage, I better make my escape" he thought as he grabbed a chair and tossed it into the nearest window, it cracked as Jack ran towards the window and jumped through it. He rolled around as he hit the ground and turned around aiming at the window as he slowly backed away, he then ran off. "This is a crazy world indeed"

Jack opened the door to the bar and stepped in, he looked around at the people inside of the well-known tavern. His eyes didn't settle as they darted around at the different people inside. He unconsciously pressed his left arm to his side, feeling his sidearm. It made him feel a bit safer in there, no matter how many times he came here, he always saw something new. He walked casually over to the bar and sat down. He took out a cigarillo out of his right chest pocket and placed it between his lips. He reached into the pocket of his jacket and took out a silver zippo lighter, he tried to light his cigarillo, to no avail. He shook it and tried again, nothing. He cursed to himself as he ordered a glass of scotch.
Jack sighed as he got his glass, he stared at it with an empty look, like the answer to all his riddles could be seen in the glass. He drummed the counter with his left hand and bit down gently on his cigarillo. He tried to light it again, nothing, the damned lighter was broken. He gazed around to see if anyone was smoking, he needed a light.

Jack sees the zippo lighter and looks at Jo Claudine, he takes the lighter and nods with his head as a gesture of gratitude. He takes the lighter and lights his cigarillo, he inhales the smoke deeply into his lungs and feels the sedating effect it has on his body. He exhales the smoke slowly as if he’s enjoying every second of it. He looks at the lighter, a black cross. He flips it over and studies it for a few seconds before he slides it back. He then picks up his glass and takes a sip, feeling the pleasant effect already. He puts the glass down again and sucks on his teeth before taking another powerful drag of his smoke.
Jack gazes at the woman who gave him the lighter and studies her for a few seconds, he then smirks as if he had seen something amusing. He places the cigarillo between his lips again and strokes the glass with his left fingers.

Jack turns his attention back to Jo Claudine. "Perhaps" he stated before taking another drag. He had to admit the woman was attractive, but on the other hand. She reminded her of himself. The world was rotten and fake, as soon as you were born you were destined to die. They say you are lucky when you are born into this world, but that's just shit. Jack raised the glass to his lips again and took a large swig, he hissed as the warmth spread through his body.

Jack didn't know why he was even here, to drown his sorrows? To find a one night stand? To forget himself and this world, only if for a while. He didn't know, he downed the rest of the liquid into his mouth and swallowed. He ordered another glass and put out his cigarillo. "Life's a joke..." he whispered to himself.

Jack turns to look at her, first now did he smell it, blood. No wonder she attracted the vampire, he turned back to his drink and chuckled to himself. "When did I give you the impression it was you I found funny?" he asked curiously, he stared right ahead trying to ignore the woman. He found himself stealing glances at the woman though, she was she talked, the way she moved, talked, everything. She had seen some shit, she knew life was short, why waste it on trying to be someone everyone should like.

Jack took a sip of his glass and placed it on the counter. "I could use someone to ride me into an explosion of bliss as well, but that doesn't mean I am going to get it" he said looking at her out of the corner of his eyes, he wanted to see her reaction.

Jack gazed at her hand and debates in his mind what kind of action he should take, he turns towards her and takes her hand in his. "Jack, a pleasure" he said out of duty rather than actually meaning it. His accent was british in contrast with Jo's. He studied her hand before he retracted his hand again. "What brings you to this hole?" he asked ignoring her question about riding. He had to admit, however, she intrigued him.

"To answer your question, you seem like a person who knows life is a joke and we live in a shitty world" he finished as he turned forward again. Jack couldn't really say he was too curious about the woman, to him, she was just eyecandy which happened to amuse him for the moment.

Jack seems pleased with her answer as he swirls the whiskey around in the glass before taking a sip. "What brings me here indeed?" he stated rather than asking. "I don't know" he finally admitted as he turned his head to look at Jo. "You're not going to treat that wound on your back?" he asks curiously. To her other question, if it had been a question aimed at him, he seemed hesitant to answer. "What are we going to do indeed" he instead said as he took out another cigarillo, he placed it gently between his lips and extended his right hand at Jo. Motioning with his hand, he wanted her lighter again and he didn't want to ask for it either. He expected her to give it to him, without question. Another test and this time he had to reveal an amused smirk.

Jack flicked his finger at her without saying anything, he had let her comment drift straight past him. He was used to far worse than that, being a soldier of fortune he had been around his share of prostitues and such. They were always whispering words of gold while trying to get into his pants.

Jack glared into her eyes debating if she was telling the truth about what she said, she wasn't bad looking as he had thought before. They both seemed well known with the world, he wasn't sure he would turn her down would it come to it either. He decided to not think about it before it actually happened.

It was partly true, he had been a soldier of fortune for a while. Jack himself felt a bit light headed, he hadn't been drinking in ages and to go straight to whiskey, it was making his reactions a bit slow.

"How about you, what do you do for a living? Something dangerous perhaps? Judging from the wound I mean. You a soldier too?" he asked actually a bit interested.

Jack downed the rest of the whiskey and stands up from his seat. "I can only imagine" he chuckled as he gazed into her eyes for a second. "A pleasure meeting you" and this time he meant it. "I am sorry, but I have leave. Maybe I will see you again, if not one of us is killed, that is" he joked as he took her hand and kissed it softly. "Take care" he said walking away. "You can keep the cigarillo, but next time, I will expect something in return" he laughed as he exited the bar.
